Forced logout after writeback

I have very strange issue.
After pressing the writeback button, system forces logout (goes to the login screen).
At the same time writeback works, and is executed correctly (including commit).
Has anyone encountered this issue?
Below is my writeback message file - the WriteBackAccessApproval message gets triggered.

Hi Martins,
Can you check your presentation server log file and your BI server log file and post any errors you see in them here? I'm wondering if some type of failure is happening after the write back occured.
Thanks!

  • Automatic Logout after inactivity

I am trying to figure out the best way to 'kick' students off our lab machines at the end of the day.
As it is right now, the machines are set to 'log out after 30 minutes of inactivity' and to shutdown at 10:00pm each night. What happens is someone leaves and unsaved document open causing the logout and shutdown to be cancelled.
I understand the inconvenience that could be caused by giving forcing logouts and shutdowns, but I still want to.
Can the inactivity log out be given more power? Can I have the log out ignore unsaved work?

Thank you for your response, but that guide doesn't have any information on logging out users other than the security preference pane.
I have, however, been able to find a script which accomplishes the force logout of a user...
    kill -9 `ps -Axjc | grep loginwindow | grep student | cut -c 13-16`
Currently this script is scheduled to run to make sure the machines are able to shutdown each night.
While this gets me one step closer, I would like to run this script on inactivity instead. Can this be done..?

  • How to force logout of portal user

    Hi all,
we're currently facing trouble with portal users being "locked" in the portal. They are not locked in the ume sense, but when trying to logon they are only able to see navigation framework, and no content. The only content we're using in the portal is MSS/ESS, so the content we're trying to load is from R/3.
My idea is to manually log out the user in trubble from the portal.
Now; I can see see active http_sessions using the telnet Administrator session, but I can't find a way to force logout a user. Can anyone please tell me how to?
    We're using Portal SP11, and ESS/MSS SP7.
I'm thankful for all input! Points will be handed out of course.
    Kind regards,
    Andreas

    hi,
Try this code. This might help you.
    IPortalComponentRequest request=(IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
              IAuthentication Authen = UMFactory.getAuthenticator();
    HttpServletRequest req = request.getServletRequest();
    HttpServletResponse res = request.getServletResponse(true);
    //logoff user from Portal
    Authen.forceLogoffUser(req, res,"");
The third argument is a string which is the redirection URL.

  • Force logout when shutting screen on MacBook

I was wondering if there was a way to force logout when shutting the screen closed. I am aware of the hot key as well. Thank you

No. You must log out deliberately.

  • Command Line Force Logout

So quick background. I setup a rule in mail that if I get a message with text logout to run a applescript script that is this.
"tell application "loginwindow" to «event aevtrlgo»"
that should force logout however mail would keep freezing and it would skip logging out because of it.
I could kill loginwindow but then its not a proper logout and file vault doesn't re-encrypt my home directory so I can't do that.
Is there a force logout that does it right?
    Thanks,

  • Client machine force reboot after apply window patch updated

I found all of client machines will force reboot after window patching updated via SCCM 2012. Have any options in SCCM 2012 can let users to choose reboot their machine after patching ? likely WSUS, users can suspend the reboot request. Pls advice.

The notification will happen automatically if ConfigMgr installs updates that require a reboot but a reboot is not initiated so there's nothing additional you need to do.
Note however that allowing users to choose this instead of forcing it is generally bad practice because the updates aren't truly installed until the reboot happens and there have been a couple of updates of the years that cause flakiness until the system
    is rebooted also.
Why not allow the users to install the updates when they want up until a deadline and then force the reboot at the deadline (if one hasn't already been performed)? This gives the user the control over the process but also forces it to happen if the user
    neglects performing it.

  • Automatic logout after inactivity/idle

i am trying to setup an automated logout after an idle period for regular domain users. this is a lab environment running windows 7 enterprise x64.
we used winexit.scr before, but it looks like it is incompatible with windows 7. i have tried making a scheduled task for this purpose but it never executes. i found a program that will do the logoff and i tried to make a scheduled task to execute the program but it never triggers.
    has anyone done this successfully?

If someone asked how to shut off a car engine whenever the computer detected someone was speeding, would you just assume they thought through every possible scenario?  Would you want to have that car when you're rushing a loved-one to

Ever worked at a place where the IT department implemented utterly stupid policies that caused you problems in getting your work done?  Gee, IT people couldn't

Talk about growing up, seems to me you're using some old playground tactics yourself (of the 3 fo us???.. that's a bit immature).   And I could not agree more with Bint's remarks as it never fails when trying to get help in forums.  It's as
if the question is dodged to ponder on some ridiculous moral epiphany tangent.  Grant it you provided possible solutions but had to interject your beliefs at the same time.  Of course that is your right and no one has to read them, but at the sametime
you should be willing to accept a little constructive criticism yourself. I don't know why people that posted in a forum 100's, if not 1000's of times feel they are the pontificators of all that is right when it comes to these kind of remarks.
Noel, just offer some solutions minus the judgement calls.  I think rewording your concerns (judgements)  like "you may want to make sure..."   would be more acceptable than your personal experiences with IT.    And for

  • Can't change "Logout after Inactivity" setting under Security in System Pre

When I try change the "Logout after so many minutes option", in System Preferences under Security, the change does not stick. I'm doing this as the admin user, unlock the lock, make the change, lock the lock, close System Preferences. When I open System Preferences, the change is gone. Is there a plist that manages these options under security? If so, where is it; what is it's name?
If not, any suggestions to make this change stick? I don't see any commandline option for systemsetup or pmset either.
Btw, is there a method or listing of which plists manage which items? Sometimes it's obious, other times not.
    Thanks
    Tom

I don't know a good answer to this but the following will work. log out of the managed account and log into an admin one. open system preferences and deselect the check box for parental controls on the managed account. close system preferences. open system preferences again and select the box for parental controls for that account again. this will wipe previous parental control settings so you'll have to set them all over again but at least it will undo that "always allow" thing.

  • Cannot override logout after 20 mins of inactivity

    Here's an odd one.
I have a couple of iMacs that have the option to "logout after 20 mins of activity" ticked in security preferences.
I don't want this to happen, so as an administrator I can uncheck the option and click the padlock icon to prevent changes.
However, even with the option unchecked, they'll still log out after 20 mins, and when I revisit the security preferences page again, the option will be ticked again.
    Any clues, anyone?

Thanks for the reply, but I've tried clicking the padlock and also leaving it alone.
The result is always the same. If I uncheck the the logout option, or change the number of minutes, *it always returns to the same settings when I navigate away from the security preferences*, and then return to them.
There is no "save settings" option, and other checkboxes, like the "require password" option IS retained if I check it.
It's just the automatic logout setting.
This is really frustrating. I didn't setup these particular Macs.
Is there another setting elsewhere that could be overriding this?
Or a preference file to delete?
    I really don't understand what's going on.
    Any help much appreciated.

  • Maxl doesn't logout after Calc Script execution

    Hi All,
I have a batch script which runs to load data and then aggregate data using calc script. Maxl completes the load and then starts the calculation execution but this never ends. I tried looking into the logs and it shows that Calc Script executed but it won't log off the user and so the next process of the batch doesn't kick-in.

    Hi Cameron,
The script which you had given was running just great in Dev with very less data, as the aggregation was just taking 10mins but when I moved the scripts to QA where it loads data from Prod, the aggregation takes almost 2 hours to run and just as the calc script finishes it throws an Network error and Maxl doesn't end the agg script and hangs there and is forced to log off from console after 60mins of inactivity. The hang doesn't let the batch to start the next process.

    ideas ????
Is there a method in Weblogic security package to deauthenticate a user to force

I just double checked it and lo and behold the session is actually being invalidated
because the users session data is gone, however they are still able to access
protected resources. Does this mean that weblogic is not using session to maintain
authenicated flag ? Or does this mean that the call to pageContext.popBody() is
creating a new session ? Or does this mean that weblogic has a bug ? Or does this

I checked this angle. They are able to see protected content.
However, bea has finally acknowledged the problem. It exists when you are using
multiple web applications with single sign-on.
The problem has supposedly been fixed in a rolling patch available for SP2 of
WebLogic 6.0. Three new methods have been added that provide the ability to log
    users out.
    Hip Hip Hooray !!!!
    See this link : http://commerce.bea.com/downloads/wls_patches.jsp
The new logout methods are described in the associated readme.

  • Macbook Pro Won't Shut Down, Restart, or Logout after using Onyx.

    Hi,
Earlier this week I found that my macbook wouldn't shutdown, restart, or logout from the finder menu (or any other menu, such as Onyx or Software Update). The only way I could get it to restart was through Terminal. I tried every solution, but nothing would fix it. After backing everything up, and doing a clean reinstall, everything was fine. Then, when I used Onyx, I tried to install the Archives Preference pane and the Processor Preference pane. The window just sort of hung there not responding - and finally I had to force quit Onyx. Now my system is back to not shutting down, restarting, or being able to log out again. The good thing is that I think I've isolated the problem. The bad thing is that I have no idea how to fix it. I tried uninstalling Onyx, but that did nothing. I've used Onyx regularly and have never had any issues, and I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem.
Can anyone help? I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for this topic. If there is a better forum for it, let me know and I can repost.
Another problem that I'm having is when I open iTunes, the dock icon comes up for about a second and crashes. I tried completely reinstalling iTunes, but that hasn't worked. Perhaps I missed something? BTW - everything else is operating just fine (i.e. Quicktime, etc.)

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Run Disk Utility from your Mac install disc.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
If you cannot boot from your install disc, try booting in Safe Mode
You do not need Onyx, especially not good for Snow Leoaprd. You can run cron tasks from the iStat Pro widget available here.
