Forcing auto installation to download 1.3.1_01 not 1.3.1_02

Is it possible to force the auto installation of the plug in to install older versions of 1.3.x that 1.3.1_02.
Apparently, alot of other applets don't work with 1.3.1_02 although ours does.
It is really annoying that the plugin-version suddenly, without warning, is upgraded!
It makes it hopeless to test the web-apps when U have no control over the plugin version!!!!!

I'm having the a related problem -- I can't figure out how to require 1.3.1_02. Whenever the plugin auto-install happens in MSIE, it installs 1.3.1, while our applet requires 1.3.1_02 (due to bugs in the JavaScript-to-Java communication in 1.3.1).
The <object> tag we're using in MSIE looks like this:
<object classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" codebase="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.3.1/jinstall-131-win32.cab#Version=1,3,1,0">
<param name="type" value="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3.1" />

Presumably there is a combination of the codebase attribute and the type parameter that will force 1.3.1_02 to be downloaded if an earlier version is found, but I have yet to discover what it is...
Why isn't any of this documented!?

Run it and it'll remove the browser plugin from Firefox. Then re-run Reactor installer.

Only two had virus on windows XP this week and wiped them with Avast. The itunes asked me to install the update, and so I did. but it always gives me that message.

Creative Cloud Installation Failed Download Error - Error Type -7 and Error Code - 401

I subscribed to Creative Cloud in December 2012 and have been trying to install the applications, but the "Installation Failed" through the Adobe Application Manager. (see screenshot)
Here is a line from my log file:
01/08/13 11:08:48:346 | [WARN] | | ASU | PDApp | DownloadError | | | 6120 | Download Error has come with GDE Error type - -7 and error code - 401
I tried searching for the same error code in the "knowledge base" but couldn't locate any.
I am on a Windows 7 (x64) machine. I also have CS5.5 installed.
Anyone have this problem? Please help or point me in the right direction if you can. Thanks!

   I tried the above steps, with no luck. I have admin rights on both laptop and desktop I'm trying to install to. I have updated my AAM on both machines with no issue (when using the direct link above). But when I click the 'Try' link to download an application, it shows the scrolling status bar for a few seconds, then "Installation Failed" 'Download error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support. (-7)'   Retry only produces same results.
Both machines are running Win 7 Pro - SP1 64bit
     (laptop - 16 GB RAM & Core i7-2760QM 2.40 GHz processor)
     (desktop - 8 GB RAM & Xeon W3520 2.67GHz processor)
I am running in a corporate setting with I'm sure all sorts of Firewall protection etc...
I'm planning on asking for a CC membership, but wanted to check out the new features first....

Flash Installer cannot download. Finally get the message, "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." I already uninstalled the old copy, now I have no Flash Player.

My issue was identical.... days of frustrating downloads and initializing but no installation........ UNTIL I chose to not use the default installer and chose 'Save File'. Now I have the latest Flash installed in OS 10.8.5 no problems !!
This time a long download of 16MB arrived in the downloads folder that actually worked.
Prior to this, all downloads were around 1.6MB and there was no .dmg in the package.
I got my download under where it says "Still having problems?"

Hi. I would like to ask you guys whether it is possible to force the installation of JRE when trying to open JNLP file. It is quite often case when users try to run JWS application without JRE installed. The best option would be to force the installation or at least display some message with instructions. Perhaps there are different ways to handle this problem.

you'd have to handle that at operating system level. Without JWS installed AND RUNNING on the machine it's just another file the operating system doesn't know what to do with.
So no, nothing Oracle can do about that.

Sun ceased to provide Solaris on CD a few years ago.
There are a few choices (assuming this is the Fire V120 from your other thead):
1. Install a DVD drive. Most ATAPI slimline drive (e.g. from older notebooks) work. These slimline drives have no jumper for master/slave, the mode is determined by firmware.
Maybe the drive you get is setup as slave, but the V120 requires this drive setup as master. On the paddle-board there is a jumper to select master or slave operation. The current selling SATA based drives use a different, incompatible interface.
2. The above mentioned paddle-board uses a --standard 40 pin IDE connector, with open cover you can attach a standard ATAPI drive These are pretty inexpensive today. I paid about 30 Euro for a DVD writer (not slimline!).-- Unfortunately this isn't the standard 40 pin connector and cable. These are fne pitch.
3. Get an external SCSI DVD drive. Select SCSI-ID 6 for the drive (this is the standard setting in Sun systems). The controller is single-channel, the upto two internal disks use
ID 0 and 1. Use the OBP commands probe-scsi and devalias (cdrom referrs to internal CD drive) to determine the device-path for the drive.
If you have access to another Solaris system the following might work as well.
4. Setup a jumpstart server and netinstall Solaris.

If you factory reset, it wont make the update go away, but you should back up and reset before you install the update.

502 error "Installation Failed Download error.

I keep getting a 502 error "Installation Failed Download error. Unable to reach Adobe Servers." Managed after a number of tries to get Photoshop and Illustrator 2014 to download but still getting this message with the other 2014 downloads I want to make.

All downloaded successfully after a while.
Cannot think how it could have been firewall related when the error message would appear after the download had started and after a number of tries the software would download? As my message states Photoshop and Illustrator came down after number of tries the rest took much longer.

The auto installer won't open on my laptop with win. 7...it only says open folder to view files.

how do i install the elements 9 program while using the dvd. it only opens a window that says "open folder to view files" .,.. the auto installer is not working. its a new laptop.... toshiba x505 series... how can i run the install? thanks...

Click on the Start button >>Computer
Right click on the icon for the DVD drive and choose open - then see if you can find the set-up file.
Double click the set up file to start installation.
It sometimes helps to temporarily turn off internet security/anti virus software.

DMG's not auto mounting after download

I've recently switched to using Safari as my main browser, and I'm having trouble with DMG's not mounting after I successfully download them.
I do have the option enabled 'Open "safe" files after downloading' turned on, and some files auto-open after downloading them, but not DMG's - and that seems to be what I most frequently download.
I even tried creating a com.apple.DownloadAssessment.plist file and added DMG to the safe list, as discussed here. But that didn't seem to make any difference either.
All in all I'm very happy with Safari, but have to get these darned DMG's to auto-mount like they are supposed to.
Any and all ideas welcomed.

Ok, I resolved this one myself.
FlashMount 1.5.2 was the problem. FlashMount is a killer alternative to Apple's Disk Image Mounter in OSX but for some reason with Safari DMG's don't auto mount. There is no problem with Camino, not sure why this is happening which is unfortunate since FlashMount looks to be deprecated.
