ForEach Loop Container Mapping Variable From SSIS Package Not Working In SQL-Server StoredProcedure

I have an SSIS package that uses a ForEach Loop Container to enumerate Excel Files in a dir. I also have a Task Flow that inserts data from those Excel files into SQL-Server.
Im trying to insert the file names into a column into the same table in SQL-Server by using a mapping variable in my StoredProcedure.
Im having trouble with my MappingVariable at the end of the script with red squigglies. The following is my StoredProcedure script.
CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[Insert_F_STG_v2]
-- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here
@Hrs float,
@Type nvarchar(100),
@SN nvarchar(100),
@Op nvarchar(100),
@[USER::CurrentFileName]
AS
BEGIN
SET NOCOUNT ON;
INSERT INTO [CRM_RC].[dbo].[F_StgTbl]
[Hrs],
[Type],
[SN],
[Op],
[Report_Date]
VALUES
@Hrs ,
@Type,
@SN,
@Op,
@[USER::CurrentFileName]
END
The last @[USER::CurrentFileName] in the Values block at the bottom of the script is the one giving me issues.
The following is the error:
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Procedure Insert_F_STG_v2, Line 95
Incorrect syntax near 'USER::CurrentFileName'.

This seems to be the solution, but get the following exception:
[Derived Column [2]] Error: The "Derived Column" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "Derived Column.Outputs[Derived Column Output].Columns[Derived Column 1]" specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred
on the specified object of the specified component.
AND:  [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PROCESSINPUTFAILED.  The ProcessInput method on component "Derived Column" (2) failed with error code 0xC020902A while processing input "Derived Column Input" (3). The identified component returned
an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure.

    Hi All,
    To configure SSIS packages out of these SQL Server Standard, Web and Workgroup editions which is preferred?
    Grateful to your time and support. Regards, Shiva

    Hi Shiva,
    SSIS designer and runtime, basic transforms, and data profiling tools are only supported by Standard and higher editions. Besides, some advanced SSIS adapters such as High performance Oracle/Teradata destination and Dimension processing destination adapter
    are only supported in Enterprise edition. So, if you need to develop/modify SSIS packages on this server, Standard or even Enterprise editor is recommended.

  • SSIS configuration Not Working With SQL agent Job

    Hi,
    I have created an SSIS configuration table in SQL Server where in I store all connection strings. This configuration is enabled within my package. To make even the DB where I store connection strings, I have an environment varibale. I thus have 2 configurations
    in the following order:
    1. env variable: Points to the DB where in my connection strings would be stored.
    2. SQl Server configuration:where I actually, store the connection strings.
    However , when I try to execute the package, it seems the SQL Server agent does not read from the Configuration tables at all.
    Can someone let me know how to enable this from within SQL Server agent? I do not store connection strings in a file, so I can't add any files within the configuration tab.
    Please let me know as to how do I enable configurations stored within SQL tables from SQL Server Agent jobs. I am using SQL Server 2008.

    Todd,
    Yes, I have enabled the configurations from within the package. When I open the package from BIDS, I do see information stating that package is trying to read from the environment variable and from the SQL Server.
    However, when the same package is used in a SQL Agent job, in the data sources tab, I see the connection string which I have set manually within the package, not the one which it should read from the Configuration table.
    E.g. in the design of my package, I am using Server A with Credential1, but within the Configuration table, against the same Connection, for the Same Server , I have stored Credential2.
    It should read the Credential2, as I have configuration enabled (as I can also verify from the messages within BIDS, upon opening the pacakge).
    However, it just reads the same Credential1, which has been supplied at design time.
    Not sure how can I access the Configuration stored within the SQL table from a SQL Agent job

  • SSIS Package developed in SQL Server 2008 R2 Using BIDS 2008 is not working in SQL Server 2012

    I am working in a Product based company.
    We have given a Pre-requisites to our customers like SQL Server version should be 2008 or later.
    I have developed and deployed my SSIS package in SQL Server 2008 R2 with BIDS 2008.
    I have used "Script Component" in my package.
    We will take only DTSX package file to the customer places and run using SQL Agent Job daily.
    Who are all(Customer Environments) using SQL 2008 or R2 my package is running fine.
    Who are all(Customer Environments) using SQL 2012, I am facing the below issue
    The component metadata for “Script Component, clsid {874F7595-FB5F-4OFF-9BAF-FBFF825OE3EF}” could not be upgraded to the newer version of the component. The PerformUpgrade method failed.
    Still the same package is running fine for some of the customers having SQL 2012.
    I am getting the above error only for few customers.
    Can someone please guide me how to proceed on this. Is there any solution to go without upgrading the package to SQL 2012. Because we need to maintain only one package for all customers

    Hi Katherine,
    I am just using the script component only for generating Identity column purpose. I will get the maximum count from the table and using this count value as Input (JurisCount in my below code) for script component and increment the counter for new records.
    Finally I am mapping the Script component output value (JurisKey in my below code) to Key column of the table. That's all I am doing with Script Component.

  • Why is the LookUp object in the Flow Task of my SSIS package going red (and not working) ? Sql Server 2008 R2

    I have been working with the Sql Server 2008 R2 SSIS Tutorial at
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms170419(v=sql.105).aspx
    --specifically -- Lesson 1.  I have been having some problems with this lesson where the source data from the samples download doesn’t exactly match the data described in the tutorial, and the tables in the tutorial are different from what
    is contained in AdventureWorksDW (tutorial refers to DimTime – AdventureWorksDW contains DimDate and no DimTime).
    So, after futzing in BI with this tutorial  so that I can at least get it to run in Debug – it errors out on the 2nd LookUp object.
    Rather than looking for a fix to the problem(s) that I am having between the tutorial and the stuff I downloaded in the samples --
     I want “Adapt” the tutorial so I can use the stuff I downloaded and hopefully learn how to use SSIS with the elements (source data and tables) that are present on my workstation.
    Here is a description of what is going on for me – which I really don’t understand what is going on in BI – based on the images below – like what columns (from what tables) are they associating to in the OleDB Destination?
    Note:  the sql in the LookUps here is the sql that I copied from the tutorial.
    I probably need to modify these sql statements – so -- the help I am requesting is to make the required modifications/changes
     so that I can adapt this tutorial with the stuff that’s on my workstation.
    I downloaded the samples and the AdventureWorksDW mdf for Sql Server 2008 R2.
    It turns out that in the tutorial it wants me to select a DimTime table, but the version of the AdventureWorksDW db does not contain a DimTime table.
    Instead, it contains a DimDate table.  So I tried adapting DimDate for the tutorial.
    Additionally, the sample data file -- SampleCurrencyData.txt -- has slightly different data types than the types described in the tutorial, so I selected data types for the columns in the datasource text file that would work in BI would to
    connect column from source data file to the table.
    After finishing all the steps for Lesson 1 -- when I tried debugging the package – and it error'd out on  the 2nd Lookup object whichwent red.
      I edited the lookups and the sample Ole DB Destination to "ignore on fail” and I did all
     green but the FactCurrencyRate table is not being populated -- as described in the tutorial, so I reset the on error back to default (Fail on error option).   And based on this tutorial -- I believe FactCurrencyRate
    table is the table which is supposed to be populated with the data from SampleCurrencyData.txt?
    In the sample data file that downloaded with all the samples  I removed all the data from the text file except for 6 rows, so instead of the original 1100 or so rows, I have only 6 rows of data in the source data file (just to keep things
    simple for debugging for now).  I did not modify the data itself.
    Here is what the (raw) data contained in SampleCurrencyData.txt looks like (from the samples that I downloaded from codeplex) – it’s supposed to be 4 columns of data – float, nvarchar, datetime, float:

    Thank you for your reply.  I changed the error handling as you suggested on the 2nd lookup to redirect to unmatched rows.  Now I get all greet.  I don't have the conditional split as in your diagram.  But also, nothing appears to have
    happened in the DB.  Aren't the rows in my text file supposed to be added to the FactCurrencyRate table?
    How do I get a conditional split?
    Rich P
    OK, sorry I forgot to reply you back.
    Conditional Split was just dummy task. Ignore it.
    Manipulate the data in such way that you get matching records.
    Inside Source, for first 2 rows I put the dates which are available in DimDate.
    1.00010001,ARS,7/1/2005 0:00,0.99960016
    1.00010001,ARS,2/5/2006 0:00,1.001001001
    1.00020004,ARS,9/5/2001 0:00,0.99990001
    1.00020004,ARS,9/6/2001 0:00,1.00040016
    1.00050025,ARS,9/7/2001 0:00,0.99990001
    1.00050025,ARS,9/8/2001 0:00,1.001001001
    Then in OLE DB Destination, I loaded the rows to TestFactTable.
    (Now, you don't even need NO MATCH OUTPUT as there are matching records here)

  • Unexpected Termination SSIS package - Issue with SSIS packages after upgrading to SQL Server 2014

    Hello everyone.
    We performed an upgrade of SQL Server 2012 installation to SQL Server 2014 (with last CU5 update). We found that all SSIS packages (even the simplest with just Execute SQL tasks) fail with Unexpected termination message. The issue reproduces with both new
    packages (that are created from scratch with SSDT 2014) and old packages (migrated from SQL 2012).
    Any ideas, please? We googled and found that it is a known issue that should have fixed with CU4. But we use CU5 and the issue is still here.

  • SSIS Package compiled successful, in SQL Server Integration Service package executed sucessful, But fail to run in MS SQL Job Scheduler

    Hi Everyone,
    I having a problem to transfer data from MS SQL 2005 to IBMAS400. Previously my SSIS was running perfectly but there is some changes I need to be done in order for the system to work well. Considers my changes are minimal & just for upgrades (but I did

    Hi Ironmaidenroxz,
    From the message “Executed as user: MSSQLServer\SYSTEM”, we can see that the SQL Server Agent job ran under the Local System account. However, a Local System account doesn’t have the network rights natively, therefore, the job failed to communicate with
    the remote IBMAS400 server.
    To address this issue, you need to create a proxy account for SQL Server Agent to run the job. When creating the credentials for the proxy account, you can use the Windows domain account under which you executed the package manually.

  • SSIS Package Not working

    Hi
    We have SSIS Package in which all the tasks in control flow are connected with "Completion Precedence".
    Ideally it should execute all the tasks irrespective of failed or successful execution of any of the task. And this works as expected from BIDS.
    But when package is scheduled from SQL Server Agent job (Single step), it doesn't execute next task (Execute SQL Task) if there is failure with any of the task before that (Execute
    SQL task) even though they are connected with Completion precedence.
    We have several Execute Package tasks which call child packages to load the data and all are executed in parallel.  There is one Execute Sql task at the end of one of the Execute Package
    task (Connected using completion precedence) which calls stored procedure to do some cleansing activities.

    I have now enabled the log and it seems that Execute SQL Task was executed but it didn't take any time to execute. Job started at  5:44:42 AM and ended at  5:44:42 AM. It logged the event Preexecute and PostExecute both at the same
    time 5:44:42 AM but data was not updated through the SP but no Error event logged. Again when I ran SP anually it worked fine and updated data. SP Takes somewhere around 2 mins to execute.

  • Schedule SSIS packages as job in SQL Server Agent errors

    Hi, I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 and created few SSIS packages and schedule them using SQL Server Agent and every time I try to schedule packages via SQL Server Agent my jobs keep failing. I am using domain/ione as the owner and when I invoke the job on
    ServerA let's say and the job gets executed by domain/ServerA$ and fails as it does not have enough privileges. How do I fix this issue firstly without the proxy and why is the job being executed by domain/ServerA$ when the owner & user who invokes
    it is domain/ione?
    Thanks in advance............
    Ione

    Hi Ione,
    The owner of any SQL jobs should be SA or any other non-expiring account
    If you do not want the proxy used, then add the needed priveleges.
    The owner of the job is one, the SSIS step gets executed by the account the Agent is running under.

  • SSIS package import to new SQL server step-by-step

    Hi, I've done db backup/restores, but I'm unfamiliar with Integration Services, so total noob here.
    I have a SQL 2008 R2 with 20 items in SSIS > Stored Packages > MSDB. I have a new SQL 2008 R2 server I need to copy them to.  I'm looking at the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard and SSMS export wizards but can't figure out how to do what I
    need to do. Anyone a step by step on how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    If it's in MSDB, you can right-click the package in SSMS and choose Export Package. You can save it locally as file and the deploy that to another server. If it's on the file system, you can just copy the .dtsx file.
    Please note that any hard coded connections may not be able to be changed, unless you can load the package in BIDS.

  • Scheduling SSIS packages to run using SQL Server Agent Service

    The job failed.  The Job was invoked by Schedule 11 (run package).  The last step to run was step 1 (Execute Package)". how do i resolve this?

    Most probable causes: the developer runs the package in BI studio, it works. The job is deployed and runs in a schedule.
    the sql job agent does not have same rights as the developer.
    the test in BI studio was doen in 32-bit mode , the job by default ran in 64-bit mode. some oledb-odbc drivers may not work.

  • SSIS package not working on 2012 Integration Service Catalog deployment

    I've set up a package that imports data from an excel spreadsheet(my only possible data source).  I deployed it and it worked for a while and then broke.  I had to switch to a generated connection string for excel with IMEX=1 to make things work.
      Now it works fine on from Visual Studio on my local machine, but when I run it from Integration Services I get:
    "The external column "<COLUMN NAME>" needs to be updated, for every column in the spreadsheet.   I am using the same excel file on my local machine as on the other machine.
    Why can't I get it to work when it's deployed to the SSIS Server?

    Hi,
    Excel files are a bit tricky to work with. Any small change in data type, metadata can make your package fail.
    I have had such experience earlier. The file contents, columns everything was same but it used to fail with same metadata issue.
    Here is what helped me:
    1. I tried to clear all formatting using the excel formatting options and it worked for me. But we can't ask the users to do all these things manually before uploading files to the application.
    2. So, I created a new excel file and created all column headers manually. Please make sure don't copy paste from any other excel file otherwise formatting and metadata will get changed.
    3. Once you have the template ready. Configure your package Excel columns according to the template.
    4. Now, If you copy and paste data into this plain formatting free file, data will adapt the template settings and won't give the metadata errors.
    5. We uploaded the same template on our application and users created the data in same template which resolved the issue for us.
    CSVs on the other hand don't have any such issues.
    Hope this helps. Good Luck!

  • Back arrow does not work with SQL Server Reporting Services Reports. When one pages back from a sub report the back action appears to skip moving to the previous step. IE 8 works fine?

    I have a SSRS report that has a parameter driven drop down list to select a catagory for a report to run a summary for the category in Report Manager. When the report runs there are links to a sub report with more detailed information about the category summary. Firefox runs everything correctly up to this point.
    When I try to back arrow from the sub report Firefox skips the summary report page and reverts to the initial page where the sub category can be selected to run the summary report.
    Can you help? IE8 works well with this but has severe spped issues with reports that contain multiple selection parameters. Firefox handles the multiple parameters very fast but has the page back issue.

  • Can I append the file name from a Foreach Loop Container Enumerator into a SQL Server Statement?

    I would like to pass back via an Email the name of the file that was successfully FTP'ed to a remote server. And I was hoping to do this via an Execute SQL Task with the following SQL Statement...but I just don't know if it will append the Foreach Loop Container
    variable enumerator to the appended Email message that I am building in SQL Server or if I can and how I can...
    I sort of get the feeling that I can try and do this via Dynamic SQL...I just don't know if by building dynamic SQL if my Foreach Loop Container enumerator variable will be appended to my Email Message via the SQL Server UPDATE
    @[User::FTPFHFileName]
    Or do I add a Data Flow Task and an OLE DB Command and pass the Foreach Loop Container enumerator variable to a Stored Procedure referenced in the OLE DB Command via a "?"
    Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.
