Hi,
You have to maintain Exchange rates for different types in OB08 as per your requirement.
Also while posting invoice you can put the different excange rate from the one maintain in OB08 for particular Invoice provided the exchange rate difference is within the tolerance limit.
Then you have to define G/L accounts for Automatic account assignment is FBKP  -- Automatic Posting - Exchange Rate Difference.
So, while making payment system will automatically calculate Gain/Loss due to exchange rate difference & will post the same to these G/L accounts.

  • Give me details about rule details functions conversion, currency etc in bi

give me details about rule details functions conversion, currency etc in bi  when creating transformation

    Rule Type
    Use
The rule type determines whether and how a characteristic or key figure, or a data field or key field is updated into the target.
    Direct Assignment:
The field is filled directly from the selected source InfoObject. If the system does not propose a source InfoObject, you can assign a source InfoObject of the same type (amount, number, integer, quantity, float, time) or you can create a routine.
If you assign a source InfoObject to a target InfoObject that has the same type but a different currency, you have to translate the source currency into the target currency using a currency translation, or apply the source currency.
If you assign a source InfoObject to a target InfoObject that has the same type but a different unit of measure, you have to convert the source unit of measure into the target unit of measure using a unit of measure conversion, or apply the unit of measure from the source.
    Constant:
The field is not filled by the InfoObject; it is filled directly with the value specified.
    Formula:
The InfoObject is updated with a value determined using a formula.
    Read Master Data:
The InfoObject is updated by reading the master data table of a characteristic that is included in the source with a key and a value and that contains the corresponding InfoObject as an attribute. The attributes and their values are read using the key and are then returned.
The Financial Management Area characteristic is included in the target but does not exist in the source as a characteristic. However, the source contains a characteristic (cost center, for example) that has the Financial Management Area characteristic as an attribute. You can read the Financial Management Area attribute from the master data table and use it to fill the Financial Management Area characteristic in the target.
It is not possible to read recursively, that is, to read additional attributes for the attribute. To do this, you have to use routines.
If you have changed master data, you have to execute the change run. By reading the master data, the active version is read. If this is not available, an error occurs.
If the attribute is time dependent, you also have to define when it should be read: at the current date (sy-date), at the beginning or end of a period (defined by a time characteristic in the InfoSource), or at a constant date that you enter directly. Sy-date is used as the default.
    Routine:
The field is filled by the transformation routine you have written.
The system allows you to select whether the routine is to be valid for all attributes for this characteristic, or only for the attributes displayed.
Transformation rules generally only have one return value. If you select Return Table, the corresponding key figure routine no longer has a return value; it has a return table. You can then generate any number of values from a data record.
For DataStore objects and InfoObjects: you cannot use the return code in the routine for data fields that are updated by being overwritten. If you do not want to update specific records, you can delete these from the start routine.
If, for the same characteristic, you generate different rules for different key figures or data fields, a separate data record can be created for each key figure from a data record of the source.
With InfoCubes: You can also select Routine with Unit. The return parameter 'UNIT' is then also added to the routine. You can store the required unit of the key figure, such as 'ST', in this parameter. You can use this option, for example, to convert the unit KG in the source, into tons in the target.
If you fill the target key figure from a transformation routine, currency translation has to be performed using the transformation routine. This means that automatic calculation is not possible.
    Time Update:
When performing a time update, automatic time conversion and time distribution are available.
Direct Update: the system automatically performs a time conversion.
    Time Conversion:
You can update source time characteristics to target time characteristics using automatic time conversion. This function is not available for DataStore objects, since time characteristics are treated as normal data fields. The system only displays the time characteristics for which an automatic time conversion routine exists.
    Time Distribution:
You can update time characteristics with time distribution. All the key figures that can be added are split into correspondingly smaller units of time. If the source contains a time characteristic (such as 0CALMONTH) that is not as precise as a time characteristic of the target (such as 0CALWEEK), you can combine these characteristics with one another in the rule. The system then performs time distribution in the transformation.
The time distribution is always applied to all key figures.
    Initial:
The field is not filled. It remains empty.
    No Transformation:
The key figures are not written to the InfoProvider.
Unit of Measure Conversion and Currency Translation
You can convert data records into the unit of measure or currency in the target transformation.
Assigning InfoObjects for Converting Amounts or Currencies
    Use
An InfoObject has to be assigned to a source field of a DataSource if currencies or units of measure need to be converted. The translation types require InfoObjects as input fields to carry out a conversion. You therefore have to assign the appropriate InfoObject to the source field.
If the target has a fixed unit, you only have to assign an InfoObject if you want to carry out a conversion. Otherwise, you can select the No Conversion option.
    Procedure
    1.      You are in the rule details. Select the rule type Direct Assignment.
    2.      Select an appropriate key figure in the InfoObject Assignment field in the Source Fields of Rule area.
    3.      Choose the required conversion in the Currency field.
    4.      Choose Transfer Values.
    Example
In your transformation, you want to assign the AMOUNT field of the DataSource to the FIX_EUR InfoObject in your target, carrying out a currency conversion. To do so, you assign the FIX_EUR InfoObject to the AMOUNT field in the rule details so that the currency can be read from the InfoObject.
    Hope this helps u...

  • Foreign Currency Posting Clearing

    Hi,
I have a foreign currency clearing issue. Please look-in to my scenario below.
We are in SAP R/3 4.6C. We have two billing document (open item) one is advance payment and other is billing invoice with same amount (in foreign currency) and foreign exchange rate.
Now we have run the valuation for the both the document and reversed the same. Here when i check the BSEG after reversal, the BSEG-BDIFF (Valuation diff.) is updated for one document (Adv payment) only not for the other billing document.
the problem is that when we try to clear the documents, one more entry is getting generated for the account ( Bal. sheet adj.1) which we have maintain in OBA1 for the down payment account, this account should be posted at the time of valuation only not at the time of realization.
Please correct me if i have mistaken the concept.
Here what i could find, if at the time F.05, we have check "Bal. sheet preparation valuation" then the only the different posting will be set in BSEG-BDIFF. BUT here we have valuated both these documents by one document only and the reversal also done by one document only then why for one document only the field BSEG-BDIFF is updated.
How this extra posting happen to Bal. sheet adj.1 account will get nullify to have right status of Bal sheet.
Please let me know if more information required.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Valuation entries are only for the ake of financial statements.
    Realizaton entries are real entries.
System doesnt post to "Bal. sheet adjustment account" at the time of realization, it posts only at valuation time.
    Please check FCV again.

  • Foreign currency posting to Internal order and settlement

    Hi All,
The payment posted to an internal order was in a foreign currency then translated into usd.  The settlement used a different exchange rate so in usd there was a balance.
    How do we rectify this..?
    Regards

    Hi
I am not sure how IS-H works.. But for sure, it should allow you to enter 3 stat objects...
There would be some ABAP trick pertaining to IS-H which I am not aware of...
I can guide you a bit...  During SD billing, ask abaper to put a break point and manually enter the values for cost center and IO and then post the doc.... One of these 2 will be the outcomes
    a. Either it will get posted or
    b. It will get over written before posting....
based on the outcome, you will have to decide your next course of action
Also, if your cost center to IO is one to one mapping (Chances would be rare), you can simply write a substitution which would always prevail
I am sorry I could not offer you a complete solution.. But, this is what comes to my mind...

  • Foreign currency posted to Foreign currency G/L account

    Hi all,
    I want to ask something.
Say I got a G/L account with the account currency USD. Say this G/L account is 10000 - Swiss Bank (USD)
Say the exchange rate goes like this,
             USD       SGD
    Jan     1             1.1
    Feb    1             1.3
    Mar    1             1.4
So the G/L account balance is zero as of Jan.
Say in Jan I use fb50 to post 1000 USD to this bank.
So there is a +1000 USD and +1100 SGD to the bank.
And in Feb I do not post anything, so comes Mar, the balance in the bank is still 1000 USD and 1400 SGD.
Say in Mar, I use fb50 to take out 1000 USD. So says it will takes the exchange 1.1, and there will be a -1000 USD and -1400 SGD from the bank.
So the balance will be 0 USD and -300 SGD? Is that correct?

    Hi,
Since this is realized exchange loss, it needs to be transfered to exchange gain/loss account. If you have maintained this account as open items, then you can do this by clearing the open items. If not, you have to pass a manual entry.
Let me know the t-code you used for the second option. It'll help me to understand the scenario well.
    Regards,
    Inoka.

  • Foreign Curr Documnet posting

Why document posting for Exports or Imports must happen in Foreign Currency Only
    Regards

for imports/exports you would be transacting to another country which has its own currency that is different from your local currency.  for payment, you will have to make it through foreign currency.  for that purpose you will have to buy foreign currency and arrange for payment to the party.  For dealing with foreign currency, you will have to transact through your local currency and you will have to incur additional incidental expenses also.  In order to take care of all these systematically, you have to post the transactions in the foreign currency so that system would take care of the further process like exchange rate adjustment, gain, loss, etc. automatically.

  • Foreign Exchange difference posted to price difference account at MIGO

    Hi,
We have a problem regarding posting foreign exchange rate difference at the time of GR.
We are costing materials at the beginning of year, and purchases made during the year as per PIR will result in legitimate price difference which is posted to price difference account.  Thatu2019s working alright.
Now, due to new business requirement, we maintained PIR in MXN (Mexican peso), & standard cost is converted in local currency USD as per exch. rate maintained in OB08.
Now, when we do GR, the difference of foreign exchange at the time of Std. cost & GR date is posted to Price difference account instead of foreign exchange account.  For eg. Std .cost of material A is 1000 MXN, and GR cost of material X is also 1000 MXN, however corresponding USD is different because of different foreign exchange rate.
Will appreciate if someone can suggest on how can we post it to exch.rate diff.account instead of price diff. acct. ?
    Thanks,
    Nirav

    Hi,
    Thanks for your replies.
We have already maitained exch.rate GL OBYC-KDM, which is successfully posted with the exch.rate diff.arising out of GR & IV at the time of IV.
I'm talking about price difference in Std. cost & GR value because of exch.rate diff.
For example, Std cost for Material A is 1000 MXN converted to $100 with exch.rate of 10. Now, GR happens with 1000 MXN converted to $200 with prevailing exch.rate of 5. Please note that std. cost and GR is the same price 1000 MXN, but USD amount is changed resulting $100 gets posted to PRICE DIFFERENCE Account, whereas we want to post it to FOREIGN Exch. diff.A/c becuase it's arising out of exch, rate difference.
Please let me know if it makes sense.
    Thanks,
    Nirav

    Hello,
Check whether flag of write classic  gerneral ledger(GLT0) is activated in SM30,V_FAGL_ACTIVECCL.
If not, no data will updated into GLT0 when you creating doc.
You could also check whether there is data updated into faglflexa/faglflext and bseg/glt0.

    Hi,
    Check thses tables.
    Table TCURR - Exchange rates
    Table TCURF
Table TCURV - Exchange rate types for currency translation
    Table TCUR*
    Table TCURC - Currency Codes
The update of exchange rates is updating tables TCURR and TCURV. If you run at the same place the transfer of global settings, the tables TCURF, TCURS, TCURT, TCURV, TCURW, TCURX, TCURC and TCURN are updated.
For details check the programs RSIMPCUST (global settings) vs. RSIMPCURR (exchange rates).
You can maintain exchange rate factors in TCURF table via RSA1>source system>context menu (transfer global settings check only currencies)/transfer exchange rates, this updates TCURF table but also updates all currency related tables. You need to check what all tables you need to update. Also you can look into standard program RSIMPCUST to know what all currency tables will be updated.
If you want to maintain them directly in BW then go to SPRO > Genral settings and Currencies (SPRO -> Global Settings -> Currencies).
OB08 maintains the enties for currency conversion, here you can check whether the exchange rate is maintained to convert the currency from one curr to other.
    this info may be helpful.

  • Foreign Cry Valuation posting

    Hi,
Anybody can help me on my client requirement :
    1. is it posible to post the exch rate diff back to Cust/Vendor account instead of B/S adjustment account
    2. if not posibble then how to post to B/S adj account which line item is based on every cust/vendor balance, not based on cry group or group key ?
    3. if i post by line item how to setting the doc line item text show the cust/vendor account number instead of doc number ?
    Any feedback will be rewarded.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Customer/vendor line items are not posted to the recon account because it is not possible to post to the recon account without touching the cust/vend account. You can only post the differences to GL account (Balance sheet adjustment account). You can use the sort key field in the ustomer/vendor bal sheet adjustment account in fs00 to fill the assignment field with customer/vendor number. Please select the appropriate sort key for the recon gl account.

  • Translation, valuation and conversion of currencies

    Hi Experts,
Please let me know what is the diffrence between valuation, translation and conversion of currencies and how can it be done?
    regards
    kumar

    Dear Kumar,
    In IMG under
SAP Netweaver -> General Settings -> Currencies
    -> Check Exchange Rate Types
Exchange rates for different purposes for the same date are defined in the system as exchange rate types.
If you need to carry out currency translations between a number of different currencies, you can simplify exchange rate maintenance by entering a base currency for the exchange rate type. Instead of entering translation rates between every single currency, you then only need specify the translation rate between each currency and the base currency. All currency translations then take place in two steps - into the base currency and from the base currency into the target currency.
The base currency is DEM. You want to translate FRF to CHF. To do this, the following entries must be made in the table for maintaining currency translation rates:
o Ratio for FRF -> DEM
o Ratio for CHF -> DEM
Translation from FRF to CHF is then carried out automatically. The translation is done as though this exchange rate (FRF -> CHF) was actually entered in the conversion table.
In this example, the base currency (DEM) is the To-currency and FRF or CHF the From-currency.
For exchange rate relations within the EU, it is a legal requirement that the base currency (EUR) is the From-currency. You set the indicator for this in the BCurr=from field.
SAP Netweaver -> General Settings -> Currencies
-> Enter Exchange RatesExchange rates are required to:
Translate foreign currency amounts when posting or clearing or to check an exchange rate entered manually
Determine the gain and loss from exchange rate differences
Evaluate open items in foreign currency and the foreign currency balance sheet accounts
The exchange rates are defined by period ("valid from").
The  function has been improved. Choose the activity Define Exchange Rate Input Worklist or Assign Exchange Rate to Worklist.
The system uses the type M exchange rates for foreign currency translation when posting and clearing documents in the activity Enter Exchange Rate. An entry must exist in the system for this exchange rate type. The exchange rates apply to all company codes.
The exchange rate relations for currency conversion are only displayed here. Read the chapter Define Translation Ratios for information about exchange rate relations maintenance.
    You define:
the rate types under which you want to store your exchange rates in the step
    "Check Exchange Rate Type"
the required currency keys in the step "Check Currency Codes"
    the conversion factors for
    -   the currency pair
    -   the exchange rate type
    -   the date
in the step "Define the Conversion Factors for Currency Conversion"
Currency Valuation: - To create your financial statements, you have to perform a foreign currency valuation. This valuation covers the following accounts and items:
    ·        Foreign currency balance sheet accounts, that is, the G/L accounts that you run in foreign currency.
The balances of the G/L accounts that are not managed on an open item basis are valuated in foreign currency.
    ·        Open items that were posted in foreign currency.
Open items that are open on the key date are valuated in foreign currency.
You have the following options for the foreign currency valuation:
    ·        You can perform the valuation in local currency, (company code currency), or a parallel currency (for example, group currency).
    ·        You can also use different valuation methods (for example, lowest value principle).
    ·        If you want to translate additional currencies from the local currency, foreign currency valuation automatically performs a currency translation.

    Naveen.

  • JVA Foreign Currency Revaluation

    Hi,
We are implementing SAP-JVA for our client with New GL Active (Document Split not active). We wish to do the Foreign Currency Revaluation in JVA instead of FI using T-Code GJ91 (JVA Open Item Foreign Currency Revaluation).
As I understand, for the Unrealized Foreign Gain/Loss posting, the Cost Object that should get posted for the said UXD Loss/Gain Account should be the Original Cost Object (WBS in our case) derived from the expense line item. Hence, the Cost Object may/will vary for each line-item in the Unrealized Foreign Gain/Loss account. But the system is not picking the expense line Original Cost Object (WBS) inspite of maintaining the configurations and assignments in GJ56 for Exchange Difference Account, GJBA for assigning the respective UXD Loss/Gain and Balance Sheet Adjustment Account. Instead, while executing the Foreign Revaluation for Open Items in JVA, the system gives an Error saying that Cost Object is required for the UXD Loss/Gain Account as it is a Cost Element. When we maintain the OKB9 Default Account Assignment (Cost Center) for the Unrealized Foreign Gain/Loss account, then the Error is not there but the Cost Object is the one maintained in OKB9. Ideally it should be the Cost Object of the expense line item.
However, if I create the Unrealized Exchange Loss/Gain Accounts without Cost Element (example 6210720-Loss and 6110820-Gain), and assign the respective settings in GJ56 with Cost Element GL (6210710-Loss and 6110810-Gain), I still cannot post the UXD since the Program picks T8JK-COSTS which has GL Accounts with Cost Element and thus requires a Cost Object. The Balance Sheet Adjustment Account is though picked from T030H-LKORR in all cases.
We have implemented the SAP Note 998431 to enable GJ91 posting in New GL. I can see many other SAP Notes on the related issue but am not sure on which is the aappropriate note to be applied, if any.
We wish to process GJ91, GJNO and GJ90 in JVA in respect to Foreign Currency Revaluation. We wish to get the postings to Original Cost Object for all Exchange Difference related postings. Kindly suggest and recommend the relevant procedure and appropriate guidance to get things working.
Kindly revert back if you need any further clarification or information.

    Hi Amit Agarwal,
I have a situation now, very similar as yours.
We wish to get the postings from IVA to Original Cost Objects at JVA.
Now the system brings just one Cost Object for IVA and all the other lines are without cost object splliting.
We really need the split and we are with New GL.
    Could you help us?
Thanks a lot for your help.
