Hi everyone,
We have XXF000.fmb, XXF001.fmb , XXF002.fmb , XXF003.fmb in 6i.
For migration to 11g , we recompile these forms and move fmx to 11g form server under form_path.
In 6i , we login for validation & responsibilities control in XXF000, So we can use account info to verify if user have priviledge to access XXF001, XXF002 and XXF003.
But in 11g , we can access these forms vial url request , such as : http://<host>:<port>/forms/frmservlet?form=XXF000 ; http://<host>:<port>/forms/frmservlet?form=XXF001 ... etc
These may cause some unexpected access and operations in functions.
Is is possible to block specific forms access when user directly type form name in url ?

You need to alter your formsweb.cfg file, either directly or through the Fusion web interface. You need to set the following parameters:
#this sets the default form for your application
form=yourmenuform.fmx
#this stops these parameters being entered in the URL, seperate different parameters with commas
restrictedURLparams=form,pageTitle,HTMLbodyAttrs,HTMLbeforeForm,HTMLafterForm,log

Help! When users save web forms and come back to submit they get an error message and form is lost

I have a feb form that has a 28 save limit. When users save the form and return to submitt them they get a error message that says the form has expired or has been submitted. The form is open and it was not submitted. Any thoughts.
Form deadline is tomorrow and people are getting angry when I tell them to recreate the form.

Reader-enabled form from Acrobat is retaining interactive form fields when user saves the form

This is an issue that has only recently come up. In the past it was not a problem to take a pdf, add interactive form fields to it in LiveCycle, then open the form in Acrobat and enable usage rights for Reader users.
This allowed Reader users to fill out the form and save the results. With the most recent versions of Acrobat and Reader the user saves the form and the data AND the interactive form fields are saved in the resulting file - meaning that the data is still there to be changed. Clearly not what we want and not what Acrobat and Reader were doing previously.
The form does properly display "You can save data typed in this form" when opened in Reader.
I have got no response to this issue in the LiveCycle forum, and nothing shows up in a search. I would very much like to fix this, as it is affecting our entire library of pdf forms.

In most instances the form is linked on the website, so the original form will cannot be overwritten.
In some cases we have to supply an interactive pdf for a department that they will then distribute by email to various groups who are expected to fill the form out on submit on an ongoing basis. That is what I was meaning by the user filling out the form, printing it, and then being prompted to save changes.
The bigger issue is that most of our users expect to take a form hosted on the website, fill it out, and then save a pdf copy of their responses for reference. The reference copy is retaining the interactive fields rather than printing as a static pdf.
If I could force the action of printing as a pdf (rather than saving as a pdf) on submission I think that would solve the issue. The script for most of the forms in the library is xfa.host.print(1, "0", (xfa.host.numPages -1).toString(), 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); and I am not aware of a way to force the print to only be to the pdf print driver.

Be aware that extension can easily be bypassed by starting Firefox in [[Safe mode]].

Error when users submit online form

Hi,
Although we received several successful forms (applications with essay questions) last night, we also heard this from students and teachers regarding their form submissions last night:
"I had several students tell me today they tried to apply last night and when they hit submit it gave error 'server busy' or 'server not found'."
I spoke to one student who was using Internet Explorer when this happened. Could you please let us know what we can do to avoid this in the future?

I am sorry to hear about your student's submission woes. I am not aware of any service outages that occurred the other night. If you could give me the approximate time and location of when the issues occurred it would help us in figuring out what may have happened. If anything like this occurs again, if you could make note of the time, location, browser, and form id it would help us in tracking down what the issue might be.

Showing Blank Records oracle forms 11g

Deal all..
i am using oracle forms 11g , i created a form by using data block wizard & layout wizard , but when i run the form, the form running successfully in browser, url is ( http://arun-pc:9001/forms/frmservlet), but it is showing empty records.
when i check with sql plus user Scott , i found 10 records in departments table , same user and same table i used in oracle forms.
i don't know what is the problem.. i am new to oracle forms please help me..

Why Forms 11g 32bit forms cannot run on 64bit without recompiling?

Hopefully one of the Forms gurus on this forum can give me a quick and succinct answer to the following question.
We're just setup a Windows XP 32bit install of Forms 11g on our developer machines, and a WLS install of Forms 11g and relating services on Windows 2008 64bit.
Question is, why do Forms compiled on the 32bit architecture not work on the 64bit architecture? Why do they need to be recompiled? I'm aware of the difference between 32bit/64bit OS environments, but what's that got to do with the FMX, PLX (etc) files? What are those files doing internally that's specific to the 32bit/64bit platform?
None the wiser. Your thoughts appreciated.

--A form is compiled against a 32-bit platform, Ex(Linux 32-bit)
-- Move the .fmx to a 64-bit Platform, Ex (Linux 64-bit) and try to run it and you will receive the following error message:
"FRM-40010 : Cannot read form xxxxx"
Solution
+ Re-compile the form against the same platform where it will be launched .
For example, if the production machine is 64-bit, all forms must be compiled against the production Server (64-bit).

B - Is 64 bit Developer 11g version required for developing 11g forms and reports running on a 64 bit Deployment environment in WebLogic ?
There is no need for this. The fmb files are the same on all platforms.
Only the fmx files have to be compiled/generated for each platform.
For reports it even easier: you do not need to generate/compile the rdf, jsp files etc before running them.
C- Does it matter if the development platform for Forms and Reports developer is Windows or Linux if one is going to migrate the Forms or Reports to a 64 bit Linux platform and recompile?
No this does not matter, you are able to migrate from Windows to Unix - you must use the frmcmp_batch utility to generate the executables files.
Builders (Forms/Reports) will not be supported on 64bit operating systems.
Therefore, one can develop on the available 32bit Builders and then recompile/deploy to the 64 bit environment.

Forms 11g - web.show_document

Hi!
How can i reach the reports server with web.show_document in Forms 11g?
"opmnctl status" shows the running reportsserver but when i make a call e.g. to
http://pc1:8888/reports/rwservlet?report= ... a.s.o.
the error message: Failure of server apache bridge:
no backend server available for connections ...
is thrown.
any ideas?

Can you please specify the OS you are using. Because in Windows XP and Vista, only Forms & Reports Builder and Runtime are supported, and the system components (OHS, WC) are not supported.
If you have installed in a Windows 2003 Platform and install is done with the system components, then the issue is with the OHS.
OHS seems to be down.
You can bring up the OHS, Reports Server through OPMN or start menu. And WLS_REPORTS from the start menu.
In the command prompt, cd $ORACLE_INSTANCE\bin (By default - C:\oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\bin) run the command:
opmnctl.bat status -l :- Will give the status of the components. If System components are not installed, this will not work.
opmnctl.bat restartproc ias-component=ohs1 :- Will restart the OHS.
This can be done from the Start Menu also:
StartMenu -> Oracle Classic Instance - <Instance Name> -> Stop Oracle Http Server - ohs1
StartMenu -> Oracle Classic Instance - <Instance Name> -> Start Oracle Http Server - ohs1
You can stop and start the WLS_FORMS from the start menu:
StartMenu -> Oracle Classic Instance - <Instance Name> -> Forms Services -> Stop WebLogic Server - WLS_FORMS
StartMenu -> Oracle Classic Instance - <Instance Name> -> Forms Services -> Start WebLogic Server - WLS_FORMS
Status of the WLS_FORMS can be seen from the Admin Console:
http:<hostname>:7001/console (use the pwd given during the Classic SH install).
Under Environment section, click Server.
Summary of Servers Page will show the status of the WLS_FORMS.
If you want to stop and start, select Control tab. Check the check box and press the corresponding button.

Using jfreechart with oracle forms 11g

Hi everybody,
I'm using jfreechart with oracle forms 11g to continue having graphs in my application since i'm migrating from forms 6i. I've already got it working and it's great. Just have one problem left. I don't know how to change the axis labels. In Bar charts, it comes with "Values" in y axis and "Category" in x axis by default. I wanted to change that or make it dissapear. Anyone knows how to?

I've never used the jFreeChart, but according to their website you can use the "setLabel" method to set the label for an axis. Check out Axis (JFreeChart Class Library) for more information.

i have installed Forms 11g (11.1.1.3) on a local machine , when i try to run a form on teh local disk it work properly, but when i copy the fmb on a network folder ( called T:)
it give to me the error FRM-40010 .
any idea ???

i have try to put in Formsweb.cfg the real path where teh form is
--> form=\\win2008\ids_11\Test.fmx <-- in these case it works , but if i put the alias (t:) --> form=t:\test.fmx <-- not work
when i develop i can modifiy every tiem the formsweb.cfg to test the new form.
I have also try to modify the Env file i put the complete path --> \\win2008\ids_11\.... and the alias T: , nothing to due
sure i can develop on the local disk and the move the file to the network folder but is a little uncomfortable

Problem with installing Forms 11g on clients

Hi all,
I have successfuly installed weblogic server and Oracle Forms 11g on a server and everything works fine. I need to install Forms 11g on different clients for developers. My question is that do i need to install Weblogic on every single client or i can use the one that i have installed on my server. If i can use the one that i have installed, please explain how i can do this because i have tried a lot and the installer does not go to next page after asking for email address.

This method calls validateEntity() of your XXEOImpl

Trouble with field output conversion when activating the Adobe Forms

Hi everybody,
I'm facing an issue very strange.
I made an interactive form for a customer which is based on abap dictionnary and send by e-mail to user. This form works fine and is in Production system .
Now i made an evolution on this form and when i activate the forms in SAP , all the field conversion are lost so when i got the form Date fields appears with 00000000 if they are empty.
To solved this issue in Development system , i delete the form and recreate it and that's have been sold .
Now this issue appears in Quality system also after transport it...so i try to do the same way to solve it ...i create one transport order where the forms is deleted and another one to recreate it ..but the issue still alive.
I search on OSS and don't find any notes for this .
This issue also appears on aonther forms which is not interactive one ( purchase order printout ) .
I work on ECC 6.0 with AdobeLifeCycle Designer ES 2
Does anybody face this issue and solved it ?

Ok i will try to explain more clearly because i think there's a misunderstanding .
When you define an interface of Adobe forms you can choose between DDIC interface or XML interface. When you chose DDIC interface when you generate the form all necessary SAP CONVERSION EXIT are use when value are given to the XML file .
For example i got a field type datum define in my interface which is based on DDIC .
I place this field in the layout and set the edit mask in the layout with 'YYYY/MM/DD' for example.
Now i execute the forms and give value '00000000' to the field, normally what should appears in the result is : nothing because it's an initial value.
But in my case the value appears as '00000000' , the edit mask in the form is not taking into account and the conversion of value inside ABAP Stakc is not done.
When you have a look inside the function module generated by the form, you will fin a routine which name is %WORK and inside it you will see a routine which is %OUTPUT which is call for each field you want to print in the form .
If my field is correctly output on the form the data type is givent to this routine in order to make it correct and until now everuthnigs looks good for me but my issue is that the data type of field are not given to this routine so it consider each field as simple TEXT and that wrongs.

Object view_SAPTASKPageDef of type Form Binding Definition already exists.

Hi, we are on the initial steps of development in Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0. just finished our first project and badly stuck with a weird problem.
Everything works well when run by single user, but when multiple users run the application, this exception is thrown
oracle.jbo.NameClashException: JBO-25001: Object view_SAPTASKPageDef of type Form Binding Definition already exists.
i have searched all the files in the project. Only one instance of view_SAPTASKPageDef file exists.
Any help in this regard shall be greatly appreciated. Eagerly awaiting response...
