Form 16 Page layout

Hi guys,
I have a requirement where in i have to make changes in standard report - HINCF160 (Form 16).
1) Currently out of 5 pages the page2 of form 16 (Script) is half filled and the remaing space is blank,now the client wants data on page 3 of form 16 in the remaing space of page 2.
2) And also one of the standard Text is to be changed according to client requirement..I had debugged the script and found that the standard text is harcoded in internal table and then the variable is passed to script,so changing the table is not possible since the table is standard it is possible that its used in other reports aswell.
Please suggest how to proceed.

Hi,
You need to take the copy of the required script and make the changes in new script for bringing the data of 3rd page into 2nd page.
Regarding the standard text object, just call a perform inside the script and pass the internal table into the perform. Inside the perform do the required changes in the internal talb eand return the changes internal table back to the script.

Footer placement issue + page layout

Hi, here's a link to the test site:

1) The footer is placed correctly in the 'Design' workspace in Muse, but when I go to publish, it disappears and the text on top of the panel is not in the right position.
2) Various panels and images have moved all over the place.
3) letters at the end of the main nav bar (top right) have moved across to the left, again all looks OK in the 'Design' view.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm using Typekit for all the fonts and I'm having to 'Publish' quite often to see changes in layout etc. Is it that the site isn't updating across the web quickly enough or is something else going on.
Any help greatly appreciated.

All your requests require post-generation modifications.
We plan to add tutorials for customizations like this, in particluar the first one is commonly requested.
If have included high level steps below to do this. However, I assume some familiarity with the UIX and Struts frameworks. I assume you are using UIX, is this correct
1.for table page layout and table-form page layout, how to make on same page display that combine both Table Page and its Find Pages.
High level steps to make:
- cut and paste the table element from the table page to the find page
- create a new UIX template, merging the buttons in the findPage.uit and tablePage.uit (see section on UIX templates in UIX Developer's guide)
- change the find page to use your new template
- change the Struts-config: all actions that forwarded to
page to the find page. From the table page copy the table part to the find page
2.for master-detail page layout, how to make Find Page on a popbox window for user to make choice behavior .
Not sure what you mean here. But steps should be similar to 1.
3.for select-form page layout, how to make on same page display that combine both Form Page and its select Pages
Again, same idea as 1. Here you will need to add javascript that submits the form when you select a row in the upper part of the page, refreshing the lower part.
We do not recommend to use frames because of usability reasons, but you can do it if you like.

How would you repeat page layout design randomly in a form, means how the same page layout can be repeated on non-consecutive pages of an LC Form? For e.g. I want to repeat Page1 layout on Page 5 and Page 6 of an LC Form. How to do that. Please reply.

You use Master Pages to set layout that you want to use on multiple pages.
Design what you want in a Master Page and then assign it to the pages you want in Object>Pagination>Place: and choose On Page> whatever you called your Master Page.

When I send or receive e-mail, the mail gets changed significantly from its' original form.....typestyle, size of letters, symbols, page layout, color, everything changes.....is there a way to fix that?.....

Which one is the Right Approach - Re Using Page Layouts or adding Web parts directly to pages instead of page layouts in SP 2013 online site ?

I am SharePoint 2013 developer. Before asking question I would like to explain the requirement in clarity.
We are developing one O365 SharePoint online site which is having 10 different page layouts with different and some common webparts and we are reusing these page layouts by deploying a sandboxed solution which is having page layouts. These page layouts contain
filter and query to display data using some condition and predefined values. By using these layouts we have to create 100+ pages. All pages will show data according to that page name and category (if it belongs any). We have not written any code to develop
the site, everything is OOB feature.
We have used below feature/list/lib of SP Online 2013:
- Document Library
- Survey
- Calendar
- Lists
- Discussion forum library
- OOB Search feature
Now, I would like to know whether this is the right approach to reuse the page layouts. Or can we add webparts directly where the logic resides in the webparts and add them to the pages instead of page layouts?
Also how to deploy page layouts/pages from one server to another? Currently we are deploying everything as a feature using sandbox solution.
Could you please let me know the right approach to follow. I am asking this question because we are facing below issues:
- Sometime page layouts gets corrupted, showing nothing.
- All written filters/logic disappear when we open layouts in Designer
- Deployment is pain using Sandbox solution

Interesting question, to which i do not know a definitive answer.
Output Caching is used to increase performance and to reduce load on the box. However since you're in the MS Cloud you don't need to worry about the latter and MS do the worrying about the former. I wouldn't be surprised if MS have updated the behaviour
for O365 and not updated the documentation. That first office.com article is using 2010 screenshots which doesn't fill me with confidence about it's continuing relevance. Don't forget that SharePoint 2013 and O365 are technically different versions and have
very different behaviour in places.
Generally i'd say not to worry, but in this case if you do find any more information i'd love to see it.

Can you make a mail merge from a page layout? I can successfully do so from the word processing section of pages

I am trying to mailmerge to a form and need to center certain sections on the same line. Impossible to accomplish in the word processing portion because it wants to center the entire line. I would like to use the page layout section but the "enter merge field" is gray.
I have been able to accomplish the task using Filemaker but some of my constituents do not have Filemaker and I would like to make a template for them to use with numbers, excel,etc.

Can't see what Layout mode could possibly offer that you don't have in Word Processing mode.
Tried using centre tabs? You are using tabs, and not just hammering away at the spacebar?

After have drag and drop data control into pages designer, how to find out which data control do the page layout component (such as a field in form layout) come from?
--i cannot find data control related information in the property pallete for the page layout component.

This information can be found in the page definition file.
Select the field in the page and then click the binding tab.

Multiple Page Contents Page Fields In Custom Page Layout SP2013

I'm rather new so bare with me. I'm trying to add multiple page content page fields with snippets to a custom page layout html file in SP2013 Designer. Once I add the snippet and publish, I review the page and any text written
in the last created page content box saves for both page content boxes instead of saving unique text in both. How do you change the snippets to where they are unique snippets and won't be referenced as the same one?

How to create Form page using a query-like filter to select editable rows

Hi!
Does anyone knows how can I create a Tabular Form page to update a table's data, but using the capabilities offered when creating an Interactive Report page (that is, having the "Search Bar" filtering tool at the top of the form)?
I mean, is that possible without customizing the page? I ask this because I still don't have that much APEX knowledge and I would prefer to accomplish this by just using the "Create Page" wizard but without doing too much programming afterwards.

Try this method,
1. Creat a Master Detail Form (Custom Layout and not tabular)
and in the master block select one field.
2. In the HTML layout for master remove the reference for
that field(so that nothing will appear in the master block
of the form).
3. Before the update (in the Pl/SQL event handler select the 'Save' event and write the following code to avoid updating master block).
p_session.set_value(p_block_name => 'MASTER_BLOCK',
p_attribute_name => 'MASTER_ACTION',
p_value => 'None');

For eg, let's say
Master is from 'Dept' table and Detail is from 'Emp' table(with join condition Dept.dept_id = Emp.dept_id). In the master remove everything except dept_id field and in the HTML layout for master remove the reference of the dept_id field(you cannot remove this field physically from the master layout). Now the form will look like multirow form rather than master detail form but only problem with this workaround is 'Detail Action' will be present in the detail block.

Use of AppendOnlyHistory Control in a Page Layout

Hi,
I got a multiline text field in SharePoint 2010 with Append Changes to Existing Text applied. Now I'm trying to use this field in a Page Layout. I have added the field to the Content Type and on the Page Layout I've added a AppendOnlyHistory Control.

This works fine in display mode and I can see all my comments and who made them and when. But as soon as I edit the page the field is not displayed. Also if I save my page there will be a new comment added with the same text as the last comment.
A field with Append Changes to Existing works such that you need to have versioning enabled on the list and then when you show the appended comments you actually only show the versions. I guess that's why the same text gets appended every time I save
the page. It takes the current value stored in my field and then append it again.
However if I go to Edit Properties on the page instead of editing the page, I get the field included in the form and I can add my own comment.
AppendOnlyHistory has a Property called ControlMode that I should be able to set to Display, Edit. But it doesn't matter what I set this to or if I set it. The same result will happen anyway.
Maybe I'm supposed to use a standard FormField or NoteField Control instead of AppendOnlyText, but I havn't managed to get that to work either. If I use a FormField, when in edit mode I will see the field and be able to add a comment the right way,
but the field will be pre populated with my last comment added.
Anyone got any conclusions on this?

Can APEX_ITEM be used to generate a Form page?

I would like to use APEX_ITEM to generate in APEX 4.0 a Form region at runtime, based on some meta tables that describe the columns, labels, datatypes etc..
It seems that people use APEX_ITEM for generating updatable tabular form and I start to question my original concept. I created a PL/SQL Anonymous block region, that contains the following code segment:

When I run my form and click my 'Session' link at the botom of the page, the P1_MARRIED item would not show up in the item list of the page. Am I missing something or this 'Generate a Form region at runtime' concept is based on my missunderstanding of APEX_ITEM API?

Custom Webdynpro Proxy Page Layout

We recently upgraded from NW04 to NW04s. We see the new Webdynpro Proxy Page template.
I successfully created custom page layouts with the default page layouts in NW04.
However, our custom page loyouts do not appear in the drop down list for the webdynpro proxy page, but they do appear in the list for the default page layout.
How do we create a custom page layout for the webdynpro proxy page template?

Yes, you can validate the fields using jquery. Check the status of each field before the validation. Refer to the following post for more information

Importing form field layout from one form to another ?

I often create forms in both English and French. Many are long and complicated and I have to create them all individually. Is there any way I could use the form field layout from one form, for another form? That would be fantastic.

Sure. To replace the underlying page contents and retain any fields, document-level code, links, etc., select: Document > Replace Pages
you will likely have some tweaking to do to some field positions.

Basic Pages Layout

I'm currently working with the Pages 30 day trial. I've been using AppleWorks for years where I set up a 20 page document that prints out front and back with 4 pages per sheet of paper, 2 pages front and 2 pages on the back side that will print out in booklet form so each page is approx 4x5.5" (1/2 standard page) in size. I'm trying to accomplish this in Pages.
When in the Pages layout mode, I have set page layout on it's side using a standard 8.4x11 paper size, but when I look at the page itself, the white editable portion (as compared to the grey portion) is not centered. According to the ruler there is .5" margin on the left, .25" margins on top and bottom, and .1" margin on the right.
I have checked the document inspector to no avail setting all of the margins to .5" but it does not change the current margins as I described above. What I want is the printed portion perfectly centered on the page. How do I do this?

Related to this, perhaps: In Page-Layout mode, changes I make to margins in the Document Inspector are not reflected in the document itself. The gray margin areas remain unchanged. The margins seem to be determined solely by what I choose as a printer in Page Setup. Seems like a bug to me.
In Word-Processor mode, the margins work fine.

Referencing methodAction in Default Value property - problem on Form page

I have a custom method returning a variable in my ApplModuleImpl.java exposed to the client.
In the page def file, there is a methodAction binding for the custom method as well as an invokeAction executable with Refresh set to PrepareModel.
In the Default Value for an attribute, the return variable is specified using #{bindings.method.result}
There are 2 pages using this page def file: a table layout and a form layout. In the table page, the default value in a new row is initalized correctly using the EL expression. Clicking on the New button displays the form page. In that page, the default value is not initialized. What step did I miss?

Try setting the refreshCondition to always.
My guess is that the custom method is no longer invoked when you click the New Button, can you test this by debugging and setting a breakpoint in your custom method.
Note that an alternative solution for the form layout is to call your custom method within ADF BC in the create method of the underlying entity object.
