Form Filter Based On Query Results

How can I create a filter on a form based on the results of a query.
i.e. The Query [ESS_City] looks at the form's field [Current_User] and generate a list of cities [City_ID] that I want to use to match the form [ESS_QUEUE] field [City_ID]
Query Name:  [ESS_City]
Query Field:  [City_ID]
Form name:  [ESS_Queue]
Form Field to filter with:  [City_ID]
Thank you,
Mark Matzke

I use criteria in my queries instead of filters.
I would have a combo in the header of the form to select City_ID.   Use that combo as criteria in the query that feeds the form.  Have an AfterUpdate event to refresh the form.
Build a little, test a little

I am trying to use a filter which is based on the result from another analysis. I have an analysis A which is as table 1, and I want to filter the respective columns of analysis B (Table B) based on analysis A to remove the duplicates for march 01, 02, and 07 , but it is not working properly. I took a max of start and end time when I created analysis A. Please let me know if I did anything wrong. thanks.

  • Search directory of PDF's based on Query Results?

Hello - Is it possible to search a directory of .pdf files
    based on a
returned list of query results? For example I query a product
    database
that returns a list of Product Names and Product ID's. Based
    on that
list of query results, I'd like see if a pdf exists in the
    directory
that has the same name as the Product ID, and then create a
    link to that
    .pdf.
    Make sense?
    Thank you,

    I figured it out.

  • How to embed chart/grafic into bex report (workbook) based on query result?

    Hi friends,
Since I have never embedded any Charts/Grafic based on query report, I am wondering if you could share your knowledge?
Thanks for your help in advance!
    Regards,
    Sally

    Hi Sally,
You can create chart into workbook based on the query data.
Execute the query it will show result in excel sheet. In the tool bar of the sheet you find 'Chart wizard' icon . Select the icon, it will ask for the type of the graph. After select the ranges of the data from result. It will display the graph. Then you can save the workbook.
Graphs can be embedded in different sheets.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Aditya

  • Form pagination based on search results. Classic report

    hei folks,
can anyone give me idea how to implement form pagination based on report search results on other page?
    and im using Classic Report.
pagination by default gives me 1...count(rowid) number of pages
    best regards,
    Simon

    Done.
Process Get Next or Previous Primary Key Value has a field Optional WHERE clause, you can repeat the 10 store high Where clause from your original report (on page 1). If report includes more then one table - use a view, because inside Optional WHERE clause you can only use one table/view.

  • Filter tables based on query results

    Hello,
I have a report from multiple data providers. The first page of it is a summary page for the data providers and it has a small table per data provider.
My question is- is it possible to not show a table if the data provider has not results ?
If so - then how can this be done ?

    Follow this steps:
    1. Select Table. Do right click
    2. Choose Table Format. Select Appeareance Tab.
    3.Check "Hide Block" checkbox.
4.Press Edit Button and place this formula:
    =NumberOfRows("YOUR PROVIDER NAME HERE") = 0
5.Press Ok. The formula will be displayed under the "Hide block" checkbox.  Press Ok.
Apply this to every table you one to hide if its data provider has not results.
If one of your tables hides and you still want to do some additional modifications press "Structure button" to be able to see it.

  • Using jquery to hide/show field based on query results

I have a form that includes fields for country and state/province.  Initially, the state field is hidden.  When the user selects a country, I use a bind expression in the state field to get the states in the selected country.  I want to display the state field only if the country has states (since some countries don't).  Can someone tell me how to do this?  Here's the relevant stuff:
    <script>
        $(document).ready(function() {
            $('#stateID').hide();
            $('#stateIDLable').hide();
    </script>
    Country:
    <cfselect name="countryID" query="qryCountries" value="countryID" display="country" />
    <div id="stateIDLable">State or Province:</div>
    <cfselect id="stateID" name="stateID" bind="cfc:geography.getStates({countryID})" />
    Thanks.
       Pete

I presume you have a JavaScript function that handles the results of the cfc binding?
If you don't you will need to incorperate one.  Then, as well as populating the second select, this function can use logic to show the second set of controls.

  • Query Result Filtered using User Roles SCSM 2012 R2 RU2

    Hi,
I have a Query Result setup in a Request Offering that shows the list of Printers using the Printer CI. We have different sites with printers that start with the site location like MTL. There are no filters in the Query Result. What i did is create a Group
for each site that has the rule "start with" MTL (other groups have other 3 letter prefix). Then i created a user role for each group and only selected the Printer group for the site and i associated the User Role with our AD Site group called MTL-User.
i did this for each site. Now when i checked the Request Offering at first, with a user that is part of MTL-User group, it showed only the list of printers that started with MTL. Now today i came to check again and the same user is seeing all the printers
and not just the ones that start with MTL.
The User Role i made was based on the Read-Only Operator. I just dont know what the problem is

Thanks for that link. I had thought of something like that but i found it came to the same thing as just using the filter field that is already available when using a Query Result. I retried using User Roles and figured out that the problem is that my test
user is only part of the MTL-USER group so when i logged in with him into the portal (cireson Portal btw) i would see the proper result. If i logged in with a actual user that is also part of other groups besides MTL-Users, they see all the printers no matter
which AD group i define in the User Role.
So what i figured was that my group is not getting applied as the filter to the query Result and that the Member section in the User role is only to say who can see the Query result list. But then i have my test user for which this setup works...so im confused
on what exactly is overriding the results.

  • Dashboard Prompt - Bypass filter based on value selected in prompt

    Hi All
I need to create a dummy dashboard prompt that has displays two values 'Y' and 'N' (Yes and No). If 'Y' is selected, I want the report to 'Filter based on the results of another request'. If 'N', then the report takes the usual filters (not taking the 'Filter through another request' filter).
I have achieved this in the report filter by using an 'OR' clause (The Project Number is in Project Number Report OR 'N' = 'N' (presentation variable from the prompt) ). So if 'N' is selected the OR clause is satisfied and the results from the report are not taken in. If 'Y', the results from the report are taken in. This part is fine.
The problem is, on the dashboard prompt, there are a few constrained prompts. When these are selected, WHERE clause is attached 'N'='N' (the clause above). So when 'Y' is selected in the prompt, the condition fails and the constrained prompts do not show any results.
So, basically the idea is: How do I make my report run against 'Filter based on results of another request' when 'Y' is selected and bypass this (i.e. take the other filters) when 'N' is selected (Keeping in mind the constrained prompts).
    Thanks
    Ananth

    Hi
I searched a little and found the following link
    http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2009/02/obiee-switching-between-filters.html
This half-solves my problem. The issue is that, the above link uses a example of a dashboard prompt where there is only one 'Yes/No' prompt. What if there is a constrained prompt as well. In that case, when Yes/No is selected, a WHERE clause will be attached to the Constrained prompt (saying 'NO'='YES') and it will show 'No results'.
    Thanks

  • Creating a SSRS Form Letter based on a Data Query

I have done LOTS of SSRS Data Extract Reports...but this is the first time I have ever been requested to create a form letter and substitute data into a form letter that will be mailed out to a group of members within our database.
Can someone provide me a link, be it YouTube or other, that kind of walks me through this process? SSRS Form Letters 101...just want to make sure I follow protocol and standard as to go about doing this. Do I create a SSRS Dataset...SQL Server Stored Procedure
to get the result set? How do I apply the data elements to the letter?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.
    Thanks!

    Hi ITBobbyP,
According to your description, you want to create a form letter and send to a group of members in SSRS, the data is retrieved from database.
In Reporting Services, we can create a form letter by using List control, then we can use a table to show detailed information. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
Create a blank report, then create a dataset used to retrieve data.
In Toolbox, click List and then drag the list inside the report body.
Add textboxes or tablix to list to hold the content or detail information.
Drag fields from dataset to the report.
Set layout and look of the report as needed.
In addition, Reporting Services provides data-driven subscriptions so that you can customize the distribution of a report based on dynamic subscriber data. Data-driven subscriptions use query results to determine the recipients of the subscription, delivery
    settings, and report parameter values.
    Reference:
Creating Data Driven Subscription in SSRS

  • Sending email using PL/SQL based on a query result

    Hello all,
I want to create a procedure using PL/SQL, based on a query result. Here is the scenario:
I have multiple tables in Target and Source databases that I want to compare(not the whole table but queries on these tables) and if they differ, I want to shoot an email. I have some ideas how to implement this but not sure whether it is the best approach.
    select Acct_id, total from SourceTableA
    minus
    select Acct_id, total from TargetTableA
    select Acct_id, sum from SourceTableB
    minus
    select Acct_id, sum from TargetTableB
If the result of any of above queries > 0 then I want to shoot an email and want to repeat this procedure in the morning every day.
I know how to implement send_mail procedure using UTL_SMTP package and how to schedule tha job by dbms_job package. But I am not sure how to implement the result of minus query. In case if minus > 0 then I also want to send the name of tables in the email message where source and target tables are not same. Should i use cursor, variable or insert the result in a new table? any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Khan

Actually these queries are the part of our daily testing that we run everyday manually(after the scheduled ETL load) to see if there are any discrepencies between our datawarehouse tables and source tables. So instead of running these queries manually everyday we want to schedula a procedure that will shoot an email in case of any discrepency and indicate which tables have problems.

  • Content Query Web Part filter not returning any results

This CQWP stopped working after moving a number of files to new locations. It is configured in the following way:
Source: Show items from the following site and all subsites
    List type: Pages Library
We want to filter the list by the article date, last 30 days. Without a filter, results are returned. If ANY filtering is applied, NO results are returned, NO error messages.
I experimented with "Group items by" filter, but it also resulted in no results.
If I change the Source field to a subfolder, I can return filtered results.
    Any ideas?

Make sure that ItemStyle.xslt is working fine, try to change the item style
for your content query web part, if it shows data then there your custom defined
item style is not working properly

  • Filter based upon results of another request

How do I troubleshoot a Filter based upon results of another request issue?
I have a report that lists every account that purchased a product in May.
I have a report that lists every account that purchased a product between Jan - April.
I have a report that lists every account that purchased a product in May and also between Jan-apr. The problem is it's returning Account Names that are valid for May but not for Jan-apr and I dont' know why. It filters some but not others, interestingly enough it seems to split it down the middle.
    Report A = 222 customers
    Report B = 673
    Report C = 111???
    When I compare A to B manually I get 94.
Any ideas as to how I troubleshoot this?

    Worked it out ;-D
