Form Navigation problem while firing Database trigger
Hi,
A Database trigger is made to fire when a field is updated via forms and the trigger will give an error if the user is not authorized to modify the data. Everything is working fine and the trigger gives an error as palnned. After the error is thrown, we are unable to navigate between the forms and in addition we are uanble to perform any sort of actions like querying, deleting and cancelling. On Occasion we get errors like I/O buffer error and the errors keep on changing for every update. Plz help me to resolve the issue.
RgDs,
M KVG
In addition to the Error Message you are getting, it would be helpful to know which version of Oracle Forms you are using and how your application is deployed (Client/Server or Web). If you app is web deployed, then also include the Java Runtime Environment version and your web browser and version.

pl helpplease provide:
1) your database version
2) the table DDL's
3) some sample data
4) the trigger code
5) the error message you're getting.
without these, it is impossible to suggest an answer. -

PROBLEM WITH A DATABASE TRIGGER
WHEN A USER ENTERS A STATUS CODE BETWEEN 70 AND 86 ON THE PAB_SUSP TABLE, THE COMPLETION DATE FIELD ON THE PAB_SUSP TABLE GETS UPDATED WITH THE SYSTEM DATE WHICH IS FINE. THE
COMPLETION DATE FIELD ON THE EREC_SUSP TABLE FOR THE SAME CORRESPONDING RECORD SHOULD ALSO GET UPDATED WITH THE SAME SYSTEM DATE. SOMETIMES THE COMPLETION DATE FIELD ON THE EREC_SUSP TABLE GETS UPDATED CORRECTLY WITH THE SAME SYSTEM DATE. OTHER TIMES IT DOES NOT. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
I AM ENCLOSING THE CODE IN THE DATABASE TRIGGER. NOTE ALSO THAT THE SUSP_DT FIELD ALSO GETS UPDATED.

No, you cannot!!! NLS_CHARACTERSET is not a session parameter in Oracle.
Assuming IBM MessageBroker connects through OCI, setting the NLS_LANG variable in its environment to .EE8ISO8859P2 could help. You should also review MessageBroker's documentation, especially any configuration parameters for Oracle, to see if the character set is not configurable there. There is nothing to be done on the Oracle side.
By the way, can you name any particular characters that do not show up correctly and tell me what you see in place of them?
-- SergiuszHi Sergiusz,
I replace back and forth the accented characters, but for large queries, it takes a very long time:
REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(
REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(c,'ő','ő'),
'Ő','Ő'),'ű','ű'),'Ű','Ű'),'é','é'),'É','É'),'á','á'),'Á','Á'),
'ú','ú'),'Ú','Ú'),'ö','ö'),'Ö','Ö'),'ü','ü'),
'Ü','Ü'),'ó','ó'),'Ó','Ã'),'í','í'),'Í','Í');
(The semicolons let down for display.)I thought that I would change the nls_lang on the client side in a Java node but it is not sure that will work.
Thank you for your answer.

Navigation problem while using Adobe interactive form in web dynpro
Hi frds,
I have a 2 views..
1st view contains an ADobe from and a button to navigate to the 2nd view..
No problem with the first view.. displays everything...
The Problem is when i click the button to nsvigate to the 2nd view, its not loading...
Wait symbol is coming...
Please Help me friends...hi ,
pls use the ZCi layout for the adobe interactive form .
Need to Insert the web dynpro script to the form.
Note: Make sure to upgrade the Adobe Interactive for ZCI type using SFP_ZCI_UPDATE transaction
Subsequently, check whether the update of the ZCI was successfully completed. To do this, open your form in the Adobe LiveCycleDesigner and check the version information of the ZCI script. The ZCI script is available on the "Hierarchy" tab page under the "ContainerFoundation_JS" name. The version must be800.20080513120641.469612.469346.

I have a display item that shows up on the screen when I hit the TAB key to navigate to the next item. However, when someone uses the mouse to click in the next items instead of using the TAB key, the text item does not display.
The problem is, the text item should display whether the users hit tab or clicks in that field. Any suggestions on how I can achieve this functionality? It is causing the user problems.
ThanksKEY... triggers were often used in character mode forms but in mouse enabled forms it is usually advisable to avoid them. In cases like this you should be considering the functionality based on where the navigation destination is, and not worry about what method was used to get there. WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE is probably what you want here. WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM should be used for validation and for preventing navigation when the item is invalid.

Thanks and Regards,
Velrajan T.For installing JSTL, all you need are the jar files in the web-inf/lib directory.
- No entries in web.xml
- no tld files lying around
- no problems!
I think you may have a versioning problem here.
What version of Tomcat are you using?
With JSP1.2 (eg Tomcat 4), you should be using JSTL1.0. <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>
With JSP2.0 (eg Tomcat 5), you should use JSTL1.1. <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %>
Note the difference in the URIs. - the second one includes a /jsp
Currently you are using the URI for JSTL1.0, but you look to have the tld from JSTL1.1. If you are using a JSP1.2 container, I don't think it could read this tld file, hence the error.
Try installing the correct version of JSTL, properly (ie as they tell you in the readme file) and it should all work.

Problem while Creating Database in 10g
Its very urgent.. Please Help..!!
After installing 10g (Standard Edition) on Windows 2000 Server, I started creating database through Database Configuration Assistant.
Instead of Oracle Home path, different path is specified for Database files.
In 'Step 11 of 12' of the 'Database Configuration Assistant' I specified the 4 new table spaces to create with respective memory sizes.
In 'Step 12' I selected 'Create a Database' and clicked 'Finish' button.
After 7% of the Database creation progress bar, it is giving the following error:
"ORA: 01092 ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced"
And asking for Abort..
What could be the problem. Is it problem with installation or any other services to be started.
After 10g installation I restarted my system.
If required I'll provide some more information.
Its very urgent...
Thanks & Regardshi satish,
this is not the right forum for database questions. please use the following (database) forums:

Navigation problem while using filter
hai,
I have a requirement that I use filter settings for my table.. when I use 2 or 3 checks in filter and sorting
I need to navigate to the previous check with the use of button above the table...
kindly helphi ,
pls use the ZCi layout for the adobe interactive form .

Could the Database Trigger get a forms variable value
Hi All
We have an ERP which connect all users of the system with a single schema (Database user name), We create a record for each user in the ERP itself to specify the privillages for each user
I would like to make a database trigger to Audit a table , by storing the user name, action (Insert, delete, update) on an audit table.
The problem is the user name i want to store is not the schema name, but it's stored in a database table and read in a global variable.
Can i get the user name (which stored in the global variable) in the database trigger ???
Thanks
Mostafa AbolaynainIf this global variable lives inside Forms (which the title of your post seems to indicate), then no.
A database trigger can only reference "stuff" that lives inside the database session at the database server, not "stuff" that lives inside the proces at the client device.
You should ask your ERP vendor: there might very well be something (eg. a variable inside a database package) that you can use. -
can we call an form (.fmx) or a report (.rep) from a database trigger. that is when there is some insertion in the table i want to call a report which will take the parameters from the table changed.
