Format EV_AFTER Range

Hi all,
Can I define a format just for the EV_AFTER range in my format range? I do not really want to hide the column keys but don't like the EV_AFTER showing up either, so I would like to set a format just for the EV_AFTER rows that uses white for the font colour. Is that possible? And if so, what would be the criteria to use?
Thanks,
Arnold

That doesn't quite do what I want to do. Let's look at an example.
I have 4 dimensions in rows, entity, intco, account and transactioncurrency
My AFTER_RANGE is set as EVRNG(B21:F21)
I have formatted the cells B21 to F21 to have different background colours
When I expand the report I have 4 columns which contain the key per row and 4 columns which contain the heading per row and then a number of columns which show the data.
The format defined in B21 to F21 is applied to the heading and data section but not to the key section. So, the ID for my dimension elements is still shown in black (which I want) but the keys in the after range rows is also shown in black (which I do not want).
I cannot format that actual after range rows as the report is expanding and supressing empty rows, so I cannot know which rows will be the after range rows.
I can set a format for rows which is applied to the keys, but that is applied to the keys I want to see (the actual elements) and the ones I do not want to see.
What I am after is a way to format the key part of the after_range rows.
Thanks,
Arnold

  • Format Date Range in Select Statement e.b. 4/10/14 - 4/09/15

    So far thanks for all the help you've provided me on here. I'm a long time Access developer and have just worked with SQL very little throughout the years but now I'm working full-scale in it, so a learning process for me.
    I am familiar with the DateADD function in SQL DATEADD(mm, 1, GETDATE())  AS MyDate. The part that I'm struggling with is that I need to show a date range in a single field. I can not do it by having that function twice because of the character"-",
    which will throw and error. I played around with the "Convert" function some and I am thinking that a combination of the Convert and DateADD functions would be the way to accomplish this but I'm not sure.
    Basically what I need is using today's date as an example, I would need the result to return 04/10/14-04/09/15. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    This is not being used as a back-end to any type of user interface, so doing it on the front-end is not an option. The data is being exported out to text files, so it needs to be exactly as I had in the example as a single field.
    Thanks all for the feedback. Latheesh's post is the closest to what I need, in fact it's exactly what I'm looking for, which is below.
    Select Convert(varchar(20),DATEADD(mm, 1, GETDATE()),10 ) +' ---- '+ Convert(Varchar(20),DATEADD(mm, 12, GETDATE()),10)
    Ok, I got it working. Actually, turns out that it's not much different than Access syntax other than convert is used in place of Format. DateAdd, DateDiff, etc. are all used in Access as well. Thanks for all the help.

  • EV_AFTER formatting help

    I am using the EV_AFTER to summarize the total of $$ cells and of a formula that calculates the percentage of two columns.  How can I get the column for $ to show as 12,000.00 and the column for % to show as 10.2%?

    In EV_AFTER range:
    Example:
    Column data range - F to column M (Number range)
    Column after range A - =Sum($F20;$M20) (fixed column in excel formula).
    Column data range - F to column M (Percent range)
    Column after range B . =Sum($N20;$O20) (fixed column in excel formula)..
    Hope this helps.

  • Java message bundle format date - Help

    Hi, I use that MessageSource.java:
    String description = getMessageSource().getMessage(msgCode, msgParams, ApplicationLocales.DEFAULT_LOCALE);
    where msgParams is Object[]{myDate}
    and msgCode is what I have in my .properties file...
    for example:
    customer.create.message=New customer has been created, date: {0}
    myDate can have different formats (with date and without it): like 2005-10-10 14:00
    If it doesn't have hours, the {0} should manage it and the description shouldn't have the nonsense 0:00 time (it happens, if date is without hours)
    I know that i should write something to {0} but thats the question. Maybe someone has better knowlegdne of this technique?

    I've gathered info from about 5 different links. Do u
    know some good tutorial covering formatting data in
    details?Formatting dates is quite well-documented in the API docs (links from reply 1)
    You can check DecimalFormat for numeric data, or ChoiceFormat for formatting a range of numbers.
    There is also a tutorial from Sun about formatting.
    Hope it helps.

  • Media Encoder: where is the "range" box?

    Hey there,
    I was just tweaking some properties in the media encoder when I tried to switch to "only export a preselected range of my clip". In Premiere CS3 there was this box right below format called 'RANGE'. Where'd that go???
    Thanks
    FAZ

    While the output range will default to the work area you can adjust the range using the triangles shown on the left hand lower portion of the export settings dialog box just below the preview screen.  Move the top indicator to the desired “in” timecode position and then press the left triangle next to the screen size pull down menu – repeat for the out point only use the right triangle.

  • Cannot Paste Duration data--format changes upon Paste!

    I'm pasting some tabular data and one column is Duration (Ex: 01:19:00) and when I paste the data in values like 01:19:00 become 1:19 AM.
    I need the actual durations so they can be computed.... how can I get Numbers to stop automatically changing these values???
    Thanks,
    Robert

    For those which don't want to pre-format a table, I wrote this script which protect the durations.
    CAUTION :
    as the developers forgot to include duration in the list of formats settable thru AppleScript, I apply the format text. You will have to change it to duration 0:00:00.
    --[SCRIPT iTunestoNumbers]
    Enregistrer le script en tant que Script : iTunestoNumbers.scpt
    déplacer le fichier ainsi créé dans le dossier
    <VolumeDeDémarrage>:Users:<votreCompte>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
    Il vous faudra peut-être créer le dossier Numbers et peut-être même le dossier Applications.
    Copier des données dans iTunes. Si elles contiennent des durées,
    aller au menu Scripts , choisir Numbers puis choisir “iTunestoNumbers”
    Le script les colle dans une table d'un nouveau document Numbers
    dont certaines colonnes sont définies au format texte pour préserver les dites durées.
    Il vous faudra retoucher le format en spécifiant durée, 0:00:00 dans l'Inspecteur de cellules.
    Je suis désolé mais les dévelopeurs ont oublié d'inclure durée dans les formats applicables à l’aide d’AppleScript.
    --=====
    L’aide du Finder explique:
    L’Utilitaire AppleScript permet d’activer le Menu des scripts :
    Ouvrez l’Utilitaire AppleScript situé dans le dossier Applications/AppleScript.
    Cochez la case “Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre de menus”.
    Sous 10.6.x,
    aller dans le panneau “Général” du dialogue Préférences de l’Éditeur Applescript
    puis cocher la case “Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre des menus”.
    --=====
    Save the script as a Script: iTunestoNumbers.scpt
    Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
    Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
    Copy datas from iTunes. If they contain durations,
    go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose “iTunestoNumbers”
    The script will paste the datas in a Numbers new table
    whose some columns are defined as text to protect the duration entries.
    You will have to adjust the format to duration 0:00:00 thru the Inspector of Cells.
    I apologize but the develpers forgot to include duration in the list of formats settable thru AppleScript.
    --=====
    The Finder’s Help explains:
    To make the Script menu appear:
    Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
    Select the “Show Script Menu in menu bar” checkbox.
    Under 10.6.x,
    go to the General panel of AppleScript Editor’s Preferences dialog box
    and check the “Show Script menu in menu bar” option.

  • European versus American Date Format - Why?

    Hi.
    I'm importing an Excel spreadsheet into Numbers '09 and for some reason all of the dates appear in the American format (MM/DD/YY) instead of the European format (DD/MM/YY).
    OSX is set up in System Preferences to use the European format so why is Numbers '09 using the American format?

    I assume that the imported cells aren't defined as dates but as strings.
    In such case, as far as I know, it's the user's duty to treat these strings.
    (1) insert an auxiliary column rebuilding a local date.
    (2) use an AppleScript like this one which will do the trick without any auxiliary column.
    on run
    set {dName, sName, tName, rname, rowNum1, colNum1, rowNum2, colNum2} to my getSelParams()

    if (count of dl) is 3 then
    set value of cell r of column c to my recolle({item 2 of dl, item 1 of dl, item 3 of dl}, "/")
    set format of range (name of cell r of column c) to date and time

  • First time editing a project with HD, and then burning it to Blu-ray

    Hey there everyone.
    *Newbie to HD editing alert.
    I have two problems regarding HD editing/export.
    I've been scouring the forums for several days, and I can't find a specific answer to what I need/want to know. Some things are understandable to a degree, and then there are things that seem way over my head.
    (One thing, I've read about third-party programs like Cineform, and such, and was told that those programs aren't really necessary. So, if there's some way to stay away from them, I'd like your suggestions on that. However, if in the end, that's the way I need to go for this to work, then I guess I will have to go that route).
    This is my first attempt at capturing and editing in HDV, so please excuse my ignorance if I refer to something in the wrong context.
    My main goal:
    To edit an HD wedding, shot with Sony FX-1 HD camera, and burn it to a Blu-ray disk.
    Here is the computer system that I'm working with:
    Dell Precision M6300; Intel Core 2 Duo T7700; 2.40 GHz 800Mhz; 4MB L2 Cache; Dual Core
    Operating System: Windows XP PRO SP3;
    - 4.0GB, DDR2-667 SDRAM, 2 DIMM Dell Precision M4300
    - NVIDIA QUADRO FX1600M 512MB TurboCache (256 dedicated) Dell Precision M6300
    - Hard Drive: 200GB Free Fall Sensor Hard Drive 9.5MM, 7200RPM, Dell Mobile Precision MX300 Factory Install
    - 8X DVD+/-RW, Data Only, Dell Precision M6300
    - NTFS file system
    I have been editing with Premiere Pro CS3 for the past year now.
    I used a Sony FX-1 when capturing my footage.
    I believe that I captured all the footage in HDV ok. (I made a new project and used the Load Preset of "HDV 1080i30(60i)"; and then captured all the footage thru CS3)
    My clip properties (when highlighted in the Project Panel) say that the clip is: an mpeg; and 1440x1080 (1.333).
    1. My first problem: I captured 4 clips (Clips 1-3 are 1 hour each; and Clip 4 is 16 mins long). When I place Clip 1 into the timeline . . . the only way I can describe how the audio plays in this clip is . . . the audio looks like it's looping the same 5 to 6 minutes of audio throughout the whole 1 hour clip. (ie: the video is one, long, flowing 1 hour of continuous video; but the audio connected to this same clip, seems to be playing the first 5 mins of the clip, and then repeats it at the 6th minute). You can 'visually' see this problem when you view the audio waveform in the timeline.
    The other three clips have no problem with audio at all.
    2. My second question is a bit more lengthy:
    I wanted to run a test of burning a Blu-Ray of this project's raw footage, to see how the workflow would go after I've edited the wedding.
    When I go to Export my timeline to Encore, on the Encoding Settings area, it seems to only let me use the Preset of NTSC Widescreen, with a 720x480 video. I don't see anywhere where it mentions that this project will be HD (which I thought would keep my 1440x1080 dimensions on export).
    The Format and Range areas are greyed out; and I can only choose a few things off the Preset dropdown.
    Am I missing a step? Or is this what will be exported, but once in Encore, it will be able to burn correctly on Blu-ray?
    Again, please excuse my naivety in understanding and/or mis-speaking my problem.
    Also on the Export Settings window, on the Output tab - should I check off 'Deinterlace' also? I've read and read about Interlace and Deinterlace, and I am confused as to "what to use when".
    So my specific questions are:
    1. Regarding the 'repetetive audio loop' on one of my clips - what could the problem be there?
    Will it export OK? Or should I just recapture that one clip again?
    2A. Do I Export to Encore directly, when I'm done with my timeline and want to go to burn the Blu-ray disk? Or do I need to make my timeline into 'one fluid file'?
    2B. If I'm supposed to make a file of the timeline:
    Am I supposed to be Exporting to Movie instead?
    (When I tried that, my settings under 'Video' showed up as a greyed out area for Frame Size, locked at 720x480 wi

    Continuation:
    2B. If I'm supposed to make a file of the timeline:
    Am I supposed to be Exporting to Movie instead?
    (When I tried that, my settings under 'Video' showed up as a greyed out area for Frame Size, locked at 720x480 with a ratio at 4.3. I changed the Pixel Aspect Ratio to "D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2)" and the ratio that shows beside the greyed out Frame Rate area does change to 16:9. But the size is still locked at 720x480.
    Shouldn't I be seeing 1440x1080 SOMEwhere along the export line? Or at least some sort of ratio that would pertain to HD?
    2C. Am I supposed to be Exporting to Adobe Media Encoder?
    And if so, should I be choosing:
    H.264;
    HDTV 1080p 29.97 High Quality;
    Output tab having 'Deinterlace' checked;
    using VBR, 2 Pass;
    leaving Target Bitrate default of 32;
    and Maximum Bitrate default of 40?;
    and should I be setting the 'Key Frame Distance' at 30 also?
    2D. When exporting, should I always Deinterlace footage?
    (I've read so much about Deinterlace and Interlace that I'm lost about the 'when to use either' aspect)
    3. If I absolutely have to use a third-party program like Cineform, at what point do you use that program? Is this used at the time that you capture the footage, and then import those files into PPCS3? Or is this a program that you use to Export your project when you're done with your editing?
    (I read all the information that Dan Isaacs posted about the "Premiere Pro HDV workflow Guide", but that was entirely too confusing to me right now, as a newbie to HDV, etc. I was going to attempt that way, but I ended up doing this post first).
    In my meandering throughout the CS3 forum regarding SD, HD, HDV, etc etc, I have picked up alot of information regarding certain problems and situations. I may have all the info in my head, and I'm just applying it wrong; or, I'm missing something in the mix? I'm not sure what it is, but I seem to be having quite a problem doing what seems to be something that should be 'easy'.
    I find this forum extremely helpful and understanding, so I'm looking to you all for help. I would appreciate any and all comments and suggestions!
    Thanks so much!

  • BPC 7.5NW Report Issues When Requesting Year To Date Data

    Dynamic reports built with 2 row expansions (Cost Ctr, Account) up to 3 columns (not expansions, set to different categories with excel formulas for variance calculations...Act vs. Bud for example) result in error messages (error retrieving data and another related error messge) when requesting YTD data vs. Periodic data.  The report runs fast and properly with Periodic measure.  When running with the YTD measure, attempts to reduce the report data volume by removing comparative categories and removing formatting (after ranges) still results in YTD data retrieve errors.
    Has anyone else had similar issues with BPC 7.5NW, SP9, and YTD data not pulling into reports?  What are the common causes for issues with YTD data retrieval?  Given the design by SAP of the BPC NW product and promotion of using BPC for both Periodic and YTD data, should I expect this report to work properly, meaning that I can get output with YTD data without long runtimes or errors that result in terminating the report?  Thank you.

  • Error exporting long movie in Premiere Elements 4

    I just finished editing a movie in Premiere Elements 4.  Every time I try to export the movie, it begins rendering, gets as far as about 15%, and then says "Export Error: Error compiling movie.  Unknown error."  This happens no matter what format I choose.
    I've read that this problem can be caused by titles and transitions, of which this movie has both.  But I think the problem is entirely due to the movie's length, which is six minutes and fifty-five seconds.  I say this because if I split the movie into 25-to-50-second chunks, leaving all titles and transitions intact, all the chunks export with no problems whatsoever.
    I'm not running any other programs while the movie exports, but that doesn't help.
    The source files are MOV (and one PNG), and the resolution is 1920x1080.  I want to export it at the same resolution, otherwise what was the point of shooting in that resolution?  I'm running Windows Vista on a Samsung R522 laptop, if it helps.
    For what it's worth, I did manage to successfully export the audio portion of the movie as a WAV file.
    What can I do?  My movie is due to premiere at a local arts festival in a few weeks, so I need to sort this out.  I read somewhere that the ideal setup is to have three drives -- one for the source videos, one for running the program, and one to export the file onto.  Will that help?
    Many thanks for any suggestions you may have.
    -Grant

    Thanks Bill -- and thank you mods for moving the thread.  I couldn't find an Elements forum so I assumed there wasn't one.
    Actually, the progress bar in my version does tell you what frame it's on.  When I tried to export it just now, it gave up around frame 2328 of 12447.  Frame 2328 would be 01:17:18... which is the middle of a clip, with no titles, no effects, and no transitions, just ordinary video and sound.  30%, the number you suggested, gives frame 3738, which is 02:04:18, which is a different clip but the same deal.
    The exact number varies from attempt to attempt anyway, which is why I think it's a "system memory" problem rather than a problem with a certain moment in the film.  As I said, each part of the film exported fine on its own.
    The videos are all MOV format, 1920x1080, ranging in size from 40 MB to 666 MB (maybe the devil is trying to stop me from exporting).  There are 41 of them, giving a total of 11.9 GB.  The single PNG is also 1920x1080 and 6.02 KB.  The movie's audio is actually muted -- the audio that I successfully exported before was just the original audio from the raw clips.
    I've got 55.3 GB of free space on my C drive and 580 GB of free space on my external drive; Premiere won't successfully export onto either of them.
    Thanks for the link to the KB article, but I'd read it before and it didn't really help.  As it says, "unknown error" really does mean just that.  And it's clear that none of my clips or effects are problematic since they all exported fine when split into chunks.
    I really do appreciate your help!  I don't know too much about computers so if I didn't give you the information you were looking for please let me know.
    Thanks so much,
    -Grant

  • Use of applescript in numbers to automatically analyze data?

    Hi all,
    I am trying to figure out if it is possible to use applescript and numbers to achieve the following:
    (1) Import a CSV file
    (2) Work out an average and standard deviation for particular columns of data in that CSV file
    (3) Copy and paste out those averages and standard deviations to a separate numbers file, along with the name of the original data file, so in the end I have a file that contains a number of rows, each one containing the results for each data file and the file name.
    The files (from an analytical instrument) are all the same, so ideally I could use automator and/or applescript to automatically run through a directory of csv files to achieve this.
    I know only a small amount of very basic programming. I don't want someone to write this for me, but if someone could offer some pointers or examples that would be very helpful. Or tell me that what I am trying to do is foolish, and use something else instead.
    Thanks

    As I got a sample file, I was able to build a script matching the full requirements.
    Here is a revised version which may be useful for other users.
    --[SCRIPT average&stdev_CSV]
    Enregistrer le script en tant que Script : average&stdev_CSV.scpt
    déplacer le fichier ainsi créé dans le dossier
    <VolumeDeDémarrage>:Users:<votreCompte>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
    écrit celles-ci avec le nom du document dans un fichier texte.
    Après traitement de tous les fichiers le fichier texte et ouvert dans Numbers.
    On peut également enregistrer le script en tant que progicile (application sou 10.6.x).
    Il suffira alors de glisser/déposer l'icone du dossier à traiter sur celle du script_application.
    --=====
    L'aide du Finder explique:
    L'Utilitaire AppleScript permet d'activer le Menu des scripts :
    Ouvrez l'Utilitaire AppleScript situé dans le dossier Applications/AppleScript.
    Cochez la case "Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre de menus".
    --=====
    Save the script as a Script: average&stdev_CSV.scpt
    Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
    Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
    go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose "average&stdev_CSV"
    Select a folder containing CSV files.
    The script open them in Numbers,
    calculate the AVERAGE() and STDEV() values
    write them with the file name in a text file.
    When all files are treated, the text file is opened in Numbers.
    You may also save the script as an application package (application under 10.6.x).
    Then drag & drop the icon of the folder to treat on the scipt_application icon.
    --=====
    The Finder's Help explains:
    To make the Script menu appear:
    Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
    Select the "Show Script Menu in menu bar" checkbox.

  • Block Suppression--can't get to work

    I have an EVDRE with 3 dims in the rows.  I want to suppress on the first 2 dims.  IT seems that block suppression should work, but I must be missing something.  Are there any examples that exist somewhere I could use?  No matter where I put the "B", everything suppresses.
    Also, the help states that it only works in conjunction with a "formatted range of members" assigned to the last dimension.  I can't figure out what that means, can someone clarify.  Thanks in advance.
    Paul

    The B only works in the last expansion. You can put the Y in one of the other expansion lines to suppress the records.
    The formatted member range is basically a sample of what you want your block to look like (whether it's one line or many). Use an EVRNG formula as the memberset, make sure it starts in the last expansion column of the rowkey range and goes all the way to the end of the column key range. You'll have to hard code what members you want in the last expansion within the block rows. I almost always put my block in a work area above my colkey and make sure it lines up with my template layout, otherwise it can be confusing for others to figure out down the road.

  • Fade Effect

    I have a code on my buttons, which makes a blank image
    currently on stage get replaced with a different one when a button
    is rolled over.
    The code I am using is this:
    on mouseenter me
    sprite(3).member="a"
    on mouseleave me
    sprite(3).member="blank"
    end
    Very simple lingo. Is there a way that when the new image
    comes to view, it fades in when the mouse rolls over the button,
    instead of just popping in, and fade out once the mouse leaves the
    button, so that I end up with a smooth transition.
    Thank you.

    Guys:
    Thanks for taking your time to help me with the issue.
    I actually got an answer from another member that solved my
    problem. The code that was posted here was making the button sprite
    do the fade effect.
    My friend did some tweaking to that code to achieve what I
    needed.
    Here is the code:
    property fadeSprite
    property totalSteps
    property eachStep
    property animateMe
    on getPropertyDescriptionList
    myPropList = [:]
    myPropList.addProp(#totalSteps,[#comment:"select the number
    of steps for the
    fade:",#format:#integer,#range:[#min:5,#max:20],#default:10])
    myPropList.addProp(#fadeSprite,[#comment:"enter the sprite
    to fade:",#format:#integer,#default:1])
    return myPropList
    end
    on beginSprite me
    sprite(fadeSprite).blend = 0
    animateMe = true
    eachStep = 100/totalSteps
    end
    on mouseEnter me
    animateMe = false
    end
    on mouseLeave me
    animateMe = true
    end
    on enterFrame me
    if animateMe then
    if sprite(fadeSprite).blend > 0 then
    sprite(fadeSprite).blend = sprite(fadeSprite).blend -
    eachStep
    end if
    else
    if sprite(fadeSprite).blend < 100 then
    sprite(fadeSprite).blend = sprite(fadeSprite).blend +
    eachStep
    end if
    end if
    end
    With this one, I am able to select which sprite is fading in
    and out. Again, thanks for your help.
