Format Number in XML Publisher

Hi
I am developing a RTF template for EXCEL output report. I am trying to format a number value in this report
<?xdofx:if to_number(QUARTER_QUANTITY) > -1 then QUARTER_QUANTITY end if?>
in the above line of code how could we format QUARTER_QUANTITY field (i need 9,999, 999 format)
I have tried both
format-number:fieldname;’999G999D99’
format-number(number,format,[decimalformat])
nothing worked for my.
Can some one please help me to resolve this issue.
thanks
Raj

Hi Raj,
Were you able to solve this problem? I am running into the same problem where I want the number to dsiplayed with 2 decimals. When I view the output in Excel format , it cuts off the last zero for eg 18.30 becomes 18.3 If i use any other Output format like HTML trailing 0s are preserved. How do I solve this
Thanks

  • Problem to display a negative number in XML Publisher output in excel

    Hi All,
I am facing problem in displaying a negative number in XML Publisher output in excel.
My requirement is that I have to display a negative number in brackets when the output is taken in excel format. Eg: If the value is -123 then i have to display it as (123).
I have put these brackets using a formula column in the RDF, but it is the default functionality of excel that whenever there is a number in brackets then it automatically displays that as a negative value.
Can anyone please help me how I can display this negative number within brackets and not as a negative digit. Is there any special tag or is there any formula which can be used to convert this into text and written in the Help text of RTF template.
This is very urgent. If someone knows please reply asap.

  • Not able to reset the page number in XML Publisher based on each PO

Not able to reset the page number in XML Publisher based on PO
    Hi,
I have created a custom purchase report and rtf template. In the rtf template, I have added the page number feature (i.e. Page 1 of 5) from Word in the template. When I run the report for a range of POs, I expect the results as follows:
I have given 3 POs on single request. (PO#1 has 3 pages, PO#2 has 2 pages and PO#3 has 4 pages), the page number on each PO should look like as follows:
    PO#1 page 1 of 3, page 2 of 3, page 3 of 3
    PO#2 page 1 of 2 page 2 of 2
    PO#3 page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4, page 3 of 4 and page 4 of 4
But the page number displays on each PO as follows:
    PO#1 page 1 of 9, page 2 of 9, page 3 of 9
    PO#2 page 4 of 9 page 5 of 9
    PO#3 page 6 of 9, page 7 of 9, page 8 of 9 and page 9 of 9
Here I have to reset the page number based on each PO. If anyone done this already, can you please share with me.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

    Hi
    One clarification please.
Are you putting Page # of ## in the for-loop section? I mean it should be within For-each@section block.
Even if this doesn;t work, then try using Insert->Page Break after every PO.

  • Number format issue in XML Publisher from OAF (',.' is replaced by 'u n')

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem in XML Publisher report. In report I need to display some number fields with 'USD' format. In RTF, data type 'Number' and format '###,##0.00' is selected. If I run concurrent program from oracle core forms using System Administrator > Concurrent > Request, I am able to get correct number format.
    Ex : 123456.00 After Number format : 123,456.00
Also its working fine from XML Publisher Administrator responsibility (using Preview).
But problem is when I submit the concurrent request through OAF, I am not getting correct data. ',' is replace by 'u' and '.' is replace by 'n'.
    Ex: 123456.00 In Report 123u456n00
Checked profile value : ICX: Numeric Character and its set to 1,000.00 at site level.
Do I need to set character set anywhere in OAF before calling concurrent program?
I tried to use "alter session set nls_numeric_character = ',.';" by calling stored procedure from OAF. But still its not working.
Please give me solution for this.

  • Date Format issue in xml publisher

    Hi,
I have a date column with the format of 'DD-MON-YY' in database. When i try to fetch this column value thro' sql query in xml publisher with data template, its giving the column value as '2007-01-01T00:00:00.000-08:00'.
Now i want to convert '2007-01-01T00:00:00.000-08:00' format value to 'DD-MON-YY'.
Can anyone please help me out to solve this problem to convert given date format to required date format.
    Regards,
    Sadanand

    Hi,
when you have a date column in the database, than the format is not 'DD-MON-YY' .
'DD-MON-YY' is the default representation as string of a date column in your database and could be different in others (defaults are set depending the NLS-Settings).
If you use rtf-templaes you had to say the form-field, that the type is date and then you can set your format mask. Per default even date fields are represented in rtf-templates as type regular text, and so the default for date columns contains every informationn of a date column.

    Thanks

    What is your application release?
Does the sort work for other data types?
What if you change "<?sort:DUE_DATE;'ascending';data-type=date?>" to "<?sort:DUE_DATE;'ascending';data-type='date'?>", does it make any difference?

  • Format number not working correctly in XML Publisher Report

    Hi,
I have requirement to print sum(column1) with number format with commas on the header.
I tried giving <?format-number:sum(//CURRENT_COST);'99G990D00'?> this formula is sum current cost column and displaying as 140.253.123.00 but i want to display the same as 140,253,123.00
i even tried <?xdoxslt:xdo_format_number_l(sum(CURRENT_COST),'999G999D99','EN-us')?> but its even giving the same result as  140.253.123.00
Please let me know if anyone had the same issue.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can't mix the XMLP extended functions (ie anything prefixed with xdofx) with xsl functions (see user guide - Extended SQL and XSL Functions).
You could look at using the Choose statement or doing a set of IF statements
    ie <?if:CURRENCY='JPY'?>format...<?end if?><?if:CURRENCY...<?end if?>
If you go with the multiple IF statements you will probably need to use <?if@inlines:CURRENCY='JPY'?> otherwise you will get carriage returns (see IF statements in boilerplate text in the user guide).
    Thanks

  • How to format a date to display the ISO week number in BI Publisher ?

    Hi there,
I need to format a date to display the ISO week number in BI Publisher.
I've tried the following <?format-date:NEED_BY_DATE;'WW'?>, but it returns a week number (1-53) where week 1 starts on the first day of the year and continues to the seventh day of the year, which is not what I want.
I want the ISO week number (1-52 or 1-53), the one implemented by the 'IW' format mask of the Oracle PL/SQL TO_CHAR() function for example.
I've tried using 'IW' format mask, but it is not recognised by BI Publisher.
Also, as I'm working on an RTF template, I've tried 'IW' as MS Word date format, but it is not recognised by MS Word :-((
Any help would be much appreciated,
