XML Publisher for CJK Support

Hi,
How to make xml publisher support cjk characters in pdf format?
In xml publisher template tab, I can preview my report in html/excel/rtf formats correctly, but in pdf format cjk characters become '?????'.
It seems like some fonts for pdf are miss.
Is there any setting need to be checked again, please?
I use Xml publisher 5.5 to create my rtf template, and my apps server version is 11.5.10.2.
The url below might have some hints, but I can't open it.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/resource/XMLP_LOCALIZATION.html
Help on this will be really appreciated.
Thank you and best regards,
Zhxiang

• Configuring XML Publisher for Standalone EnterpriseOne 8.12

Could someone please help me in configuring XML Publisher for Standalone EnterpriseOne 8.12.
As per the installation guide for 8.12, I have created a new data source to SQL Server named EnterpriseOne Local.
Also, I have used "With Windows NT authentication using the network login ID" for this ODBC.
Now I tried :
Data Source Name : EnterpriseOne Local
URL : jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433
User : My NT domain ID
Password : MY NT domain password
Database Driver Class : com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
in XML publishers admin tab, but it doesnt work.
Is the above setting correct?

make sure you can connect with "my NT domain ID"/"my NT domain password" in SQLserver Mangement studio express using SQL server authenication.
Try the setting using JDeveloper for DB conncection. If not successful then u must add the
sqljdbc.jar into your JAVA_HOME/lib

• XML Publisher for Barcode Labels?

Is anyone using XML Publisher to print barcode labels (not barcodes on letter or A4-sized report pages)?
If YES, do you have any tips or a brief description of how you did this?

Hi Eric
WE have a customer working toward going live ... Im trying to get some details down about how they did it for a blog article. Until then basically:
1. Create a label template in MSWord, create customer page size to match your barcode lable paper. Use the barcode font in the template.
2. Get your data source, if you use WMS then they already pump XML out for labels. Otherwise you'll have to use another method to get the data ... as its a small amount plsql would suffice
3. Deploy template and barcode font to mid tier
4. At runtime XMLP will generate PDF ... and heres where (for now) you have to jump through some hoops. The customer we are working with uses label printers from Zebra ... they do not have the XML enabled printers so we need to get the output into ZPL for the printer. So heres the hoops, using the PASTA print driver in Apps or the XMMLP del manager outside you can call something like GScript to convert from PDF to PS, then Zebra have and open source driver to go from PS to ZPL. Its not actually ZPL but their image format, I forget the name. This is then pumped to the printer ... not the best solution but its good enough for the customers requirments for now.
I'll try and put some meat on this soon.

• MD050 for dunning letters utilising XML publisher

Hi
Can someone, please, send me an MD050 for dunning letters?
We will use XML publisher for dunniung letters - but I need to prepare asn Md050 in 1 day..
Can someone help, please?
regards
ilinka
[email protected]

Tim
Yes it works fine in preview. Also works OK if I submit XML Report Publisher.
The problem is the template is for the dunning letters print report but we don't actually submit that, we submit the dunning letters generate which kicks off the dunning letter print. I guess the submit process within the generate process does not include the template in the parameters list so there is no output available when it runs.
Only thing I can think of is to modify the print report to submit the XML Report Publisher in the after report trigger but not sure if this is going to work?
I did see a similar query on metalink where the person was told there would be a solution in XMLP5.5 but I can't see anything in the about 5.5 doc that fits this issue.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

• Issue using data link in XML Publisher

Dear All,
I am new to XML Publisher, for the first time trying data link concept in XML Publisher tool. The issue is very simple, I have two queries Q1(say it fetches sales_order_number, application_name ) and Q2 (say it fetches sales_order_number , error_number, error_description). And sales_order_number is passed as input using data link to Query Q2 from query Q1 and Q2 will retrive more than one row for a given sales_order_number.
Say for a given dept_name 1001 the output will be something similiar like
Q1:
SO# | Appl.Name
1001 | 'Invoice '
Q2:
SO# | Error.# | Error Desc
1001 | 1512 | No Data Found
1001 | 1513 | Invalid Entry
1001 | 2674 | Error while inserting the record
and the query which I have used in XML template goes like this
<dataQuery>
<sqlStatement name="Q1">
select sales_order_number, application_name
from T1
where sales_order_number = :in_sales_order_num
</sqlStatement>
<sqlStatement name="LINES">

select sales_order_number , error_number, error_description
from T2
</sqlStatement>

</dataQuery>
<daraStructure/>
And the grouping is as follows
<group name="G_Q1" source="Q1">
<element name="sales_order_number" value="sales_order_number"/>
<element name="application_name" value="application_name"/>
<group name="G_Q2" source="Q2">
<element name="sales_order_number" value="sales_order_number"/>
<element name="error_number" value="error_number"/>
<element name="error_description" value="error_description"/>
</group>
</group>
And in the RTF template I have properly used <?for-each:G_Q1?> <?for-each:G_Q2?>- --
<?end for-each?><?end for-each?>
Ideally the header (Q1) should have one row and the lines (Q2) should have 3 rows. But the issue here is even Q1 produces 3 rows.
If in case Q2 has 4 records, then Q1 also plots 4 records in the report output. Hope I am explaining the issue correctly. Any help to resolve the issue would be a great. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Antony.

try like this
<?if: (TYPE='A') or (TYPE= 'B')?>
<?end if?>
or
<?if:contains('A~B', TYPE )?>
<?end if?>

• Problem with data size in XML Publisher report

Hi Experts,
I am working on EBS11i and database 9i. I working on XML Publisher reports, i have one XML Publisher report with generating output in EXCEL format. If i submit the report, if the data is huge (like 2.3 million records), it's ending up with warning, but if data is less, it's completing normal. Could somebody help me why it's behaving like this, is it because the report is XML Report, the xml file it's generating not have enough memory in server side if the data is huge.
Could somebody help me how to solve this issue.
Note: I need output in EXCEL format only.

Pl identify the version of XMLP you are using.
Pl post the complete warning message from the concurrent log file. Are there any additional error messages in the Output Post Processor log file ? Have you specified enough temp space using the XML Publisher Administrator responsibility ?

HI
XML Publisher(XDODTEXE) in EBS taking more time with the same SQL in TOAD.
The sql has 5 union clauses.
It takes 20-30 minutes in TOAD compared to running through Concurrent Program in XML Publisher in EBS taking around 4-5 hours.
The Scalable Flag at report level is turned on with the JVM options set to -Xmx1024m -Xmx1024m in Concurrent Program definition.
Other configurations for Data Template like XSLT, Scalable, Optimization are turned on though didn't bounce the OPP Server for these to take effect as I am not sure whether it is needed.
Thanks in advance for your help.

But the question is that how come it is working in TOAD and takes only 15-20 minutes?
with initialization of session ?
what about sqlplus ?

• XML Publisher PDF DOCUMENT MERGER

Hi,
The Report POXPRPOP (Print Purchase order Report) has been customized with XML publisher for PDF output. The RTF has been designed and it works well. Now I have to combine the two or more PO attachment with above XML report output and produces single PDF as output at concurrent request. The PO attachment is BLOB (PDF file, Word doc). For this I found that in the XML Publisher User Guide that we make this as post processing event through PDFDocumentMerger API.
Could any one validate this and also suggest if any other best approach to do this?
if you know more about this PDF document MErger could you know me how to stimulate this process?
