Formatting output field to derive Record Throughput (Records Per Second)

It's been so long long that I've done this I am seeking some guidance.
The business problem I have is to derive a new calculated field to determine Throughput (Records Per Second)
Formula: (((batch_job_execution.end_time - batch_job_execution.start_time) * (24*60))) / (write_count)
The Results from above basically give me a Time Formatted Field and I am seeking an Intgerger field.
I take it I need to do a CAST or other type of formatting function(s) and it most likely needs to be broken down
within the calculated field above.
If someone can provide some guidance as how best to approach this problem, that'll be GREAT!!

I attempted to use the TIMESTAMPDIFF function and I am receiving error ORA-00904 invalid identifier.
I do not find this function in my Oracle SQL book so I'm assuming this might be a function that was created internally
within your enterprise. Please correct me if I am wrong. This may have to be the path I take. (Create a FUNCTION to perform TIMESTAMPDIFF processing)
Again, this is just some of my thoughts based on my research and I could be far off.
Please advise or confirm my suspicions.

  • Getting a field from a derived record

    I have been asked to put a value on a page that seems to be part of a PS-supplied derived record in Campus Solutions, derived_cs. My understanding is that derived records are built on the fly. I can see in App Designer what table is used for a prompt for the field I care about but since the field is part of a derived record, I don't see anything in the PeopleCode for the field for where its value gets written to. How do I figure out where the values entered on a page in fields of a derived record go? I need to get the real value. I don't want to try to reconstruct the derived record in my custom app. Thanks.

    Derived/work records allow you to display the values of variables on pages. As you noted, they don't have database compliments. In other words, Derived/Work record field values are not persisted. This makes it difficult to determine where the values come from and, if they are data entry fields, where the values go. The movement of the data to and from a Derived/Work record is all done in PeopleCode. To find where the values come from, I usually start with an SQL trace level of 7. You can also use an SQL trace to determine where the values go. The nice thing about Derived/Work values that are persisted is that you will see values in the SQL insert bind variables. Unfortunately, when reading data from the database, you only see bind variables, you don't see the values that were selected. This makes finding where data comes from very difficult.

  • Make a field required on record creation, read only after that

    Hello,
    Does anyone know of a way to make a pick-list field required on record creation, but read-only after that? The other twist to this is that we need to allow this field to also be read-write for all the integration edits, since this field's value could change in the enterprise database.

    I think you can add a validation rule for that. Something like :
    IIf(PRE('&lt;YOURFIELD&gt;') IS NULL, &lt;&gt; '', = PRE('&lt;YOURFIELD&gt;'))
    This means that if the previous value of your field is null (it's a creation), so the value must be different than blank. Else, it must be equal to the previous value, so not modified.
    I didn't tested it, but I let you get back to me if it works... or not !
    You'll just have to add a message saying that this field is required on creation and readonly after...

    We've tried using the " QEEM0029 User-Exit for Characteristic Overview Subscreen , however with "QEEM0029"  exit, we are only able to add fields to the characteristics overview screen and there is no provision in this exit to save the data entered in the user fields to a table (QALS,QAMR, QASE).

    Supply the new field you defined by including the following source code line in
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP:

    In order processing you find the user exit in Include MV45AFZZ, and in billing document processing you find it in Include RV60AFZZ.

    The first thing you need to understand is that the condition records value is not based upon the the enterprise structure which you have defined. Rather it will pick value from the sales documents which we have created. The reason behind including this LIKP-VSTEL is that only, Just imagine, where you are using condition records??? in Sales order, in delivery, in billing..... and based on the data passed in these documents your condition records will be populated.
    Again for example : you have maintained record for Sales org 1000, DC 10, division 00 shipping point 1000 then the record will come into the document provided the document should fulfill these all.
    I hope this will make you understand this.

  • Displaying a field in a record as empty ...

    I would be very grateful if someone could help with the following query.
    I have a table (*tbl1*), which contains the following columns:-
    tbl1_unique_id (NUMBER);
    tbl1_title (VARCHAR2 (255));
    tbl1_description (VARCHAR2 (4095));
    tbl1_date (DATE).
    I have created an 'Interactive Report' and a 'Form' so that information can be entered into the table as well as viewing a list of the records that have been created previously.
    When viewing a particular record using the 'Form', rather than displaying the actual contents of tbl1_description in a Textarea, I would like to display the field in such a way that it appears to be empty.
    Additionally, when any text is entered into the apparently empty Textarea of the tbl1_description field and the 'Apply Changes' button is pressed, the information entered into the Textarea over-writes the current contents of the field in the record.
    I have tried setting the 'Source Type' of the Textarea to 'Always Null' and while this gives the appearance that the tbl1_description is empty, any text that is entered into the Textara is not recorded in the tbl1_description field when the 'Apply Changes' button is pressed.
    Any help anyone can provide with regard to this query will be appreciated.

    Field Validation based on another Record Type Field
    I am trying to build validation into a custom object that sums fields under the Account record type.
    The names of the fields from OBI (the table location and field name):
    "- Account Custom Metrics".S_INT_13+"- Account Custom Metrics".S_INT_14+"- Account Custom Metrics".S_INT_11
    My questions: can a field validation point to fields of another record type? My thought was that if OBI can look across record types than all of CRM should be able to, including field validations.

    I'm afraid this is not possible for the moment. You'll have to wait for the Release 16 I think to have such possibilities.
    The R16 will allow you to create workflow rules accross different record types (e.g. Create a task on the Account linked to the service request when a new service request is created). I hope there will be the same possibilities with the validation rules...

  • Validate 2 E-mail address fields in insert record form

    Hello,
    I have used the Insert Record Form Wizard to create a form, including using the Validate Form Server Behavior to validate many fields.
    I can't figure out how to compare & validate 2 E-mail address fields.
    After the form was created I opened the existing Validate Form Server Behavior - Advanced tab and built the condition {sub_email2} != {sub_email} but this had no affect on submitting the form.
    The other thing I tried was creating a new Compare Transaction Field behavior with the same condition {sub_email2} != {sub_email}, this also seemed to have no affect.
    I am just a beginner, so I admit to not really knowing what I'm doing, for me ADDT has been a great aid.
    The other thing I noticed, when I tried both the items above, besides not affecting being able to submit the form with different E-mail addresses. The red asterisks indicating a required field, would disappear.

    A compare statement should work fine. As an example I made small form that inserts name and email (2 fields) using Insert record wizard.
    Name field is required, email field is required and checks that its a valid email structure ([email protected]). I then finish the wizard.

    I then add the extra field to the form that the 2nd email will be entered into, this one I called email2, I then copied the display hint and fielderror code from the first email and placed it behind the 2nd email box and changed the text to reflect email2. Which probably doesnt matter but I put it there anyway.

    Now that I have both email fields in the form, I go to the developer tools under server behavior and select compare transactions fields under form validation.
    I hit the + to add a field I then choose email for field, then == for condition, then {POST.email2} for compare to. I enter in an error message and hit ok.
    Thats it the form is ready.
    The first email field will check against email validation and the 2nd email will check against the first email.
    I hope that helps.
    Take note that the database actually only has 2 fields to enter data. Then 2nd email field is only for validation.

    Hi CONS SAP,
    You can use se16n transaction. This is very user friendly trnasaction. You may use it like this:
    1) Start transaction SE16n.
    2) Type the table name and press ENTER.
    3) Type the string "&sap_edit" into the command line and press Enter.
    4) Enter your selection criteria and press F8.
    Now you can easily change/delete/add the lines you want and then save.
    All Changes are recorded in the tables SE16N_CD_DATA and SE16N_CD_KEY.
