Formcalc: access = "protected" puts protected literal in field.

Hi. I have a form that has a field, EmpNbr, appearing twice. The two fields share the same name with Data Binding set to Use Global Data. I don't want the second field to be enterable so I set the field to protected using FormCalc, see clip below. When viewing the form in Preview PDF it is indeed protected, the cursor skips the field. However, both fields show the literal protected as the initial field value. Why is the literal protected being populated and how can I prevent it?
If I change the access to readOnly, that becomes the initial value.
It doesn't help if I change FC to JS.

The calculate event is "special" and is setup to return whatever the script on the event does back to the caller (in your case the field). So if you add a $.rawValue to the end of your script it will return the current value of the field and all shoudl be good. Note that if you used a different event then this woudl not happen as Calculate is the only event that operates this way.
So your script shoudl be:
$.access = "protected"
$.rawValue

1. For the first error "The name has already been shared":
I recommend you can use the the cmdlet "Get-SMBShare" to list all share folders firstly before creating a new share, and check if there is share named "$unit" on remote server.
2. For the second error "The requested object could not be found":
According to your script, you want to creat a new share on remote computer, then add this share folder to the new created namespace on file server, please try the script below:
New-DfsnRoot -Type DomainV2 -TargetPath "\\$newDestServer\$unit" -Path "\\$RootNameSpace\$unit" -EnableSiteCosting $true
New-DfsnFolder -Path "\\$RootNameSpace\$unit\$site" -TargetPath "\\$newDestServer\$unit"

Protecting some of the form fields

I have set up auto-populating of form fields in an Acrobat Pro 9.0 form. A selection from a drop down (a company name) auto-populates the address, phone number fields, etc. How can I lock or protect the address and phone fields so that someone can't manually change them? Thanks.

Just make the fields read-only, assuming you never want to allow the user to enter their own values. You can do this using the tab of the Field properties dialog that shows the field name.

Inheritance and access control - "private protected"

I'm reopening an old topic, seems to have been last discussed here 2-3 years ago.
It concerns the concept of restricting access to class members to itself, and its subclasses. This is what "protected" does in C++ and "private protected" did in early versions of the Java language. This feature was removed from Java with a motivation along the lines of not being "simple", and "linear" (in line with the other access modes, each being a true subset of the next). Unfortunately, the article which explained Sun's position on this keyword combination seems to have been removed from the site, so I haven't been able to read its original text.
But regardless of simplicity of implementation or explaining Java's access modifiers to newbies, I believe it is a fundamental part of OO programming for such an access mode to exist. The arguments for having the standard "private" mode in fact also apply for having a C++-style "protected" mode. (Arguing that classes within a package are related and it therefore doesn't hurt to also give them access to Java's "protected" members, is equally arguing that "private" is unneccessary, which noone of course believes.)
The whole concept of inheritance and polymorphism and encapsulation builds on the access modes private, protected, and public (in the C++ senses). In Java the "package" concept was added - a nice feature! But I see no justification for it to negate the proper encapsulation of a class and its specializations.

What effect upon inheritance other than hiding members
from subclasses is there?
None. And I cant think of another declaration that prevents members from being inherited but private.
Of course the onus comes on the programmer with Java's
definition of "protected" - but
1) there is rarely a single programmer working within
a package
The point was the package is a unit which does not hide from itself. Just like all methods within a class can see each other, all classes within a package can, and all packages within a program can.
2) it muddies the encapsulation in the design - when
you see a "protected" method someone else, or yourself
some time ago - wrote, how do you know if the design
intention is to have it accessed solely by the class
and its subclasses, or if it is indeed intended to be
shared with the whole package? The only way to do
this today is to always explicitly specify this in the
comments, which may be lacking, inconsistent, and
abused (since it isn't enforced).Encapsulation would be implementation hiding. Not method hiding. The only thing you should probably allow out of your package is an interface and a factory anyway.
I understand where you are coming from, but I really have not had occasion to take issue with it. I can't think of a real codeing situation where this is required. OTOH, I can't think of a coding situation where I need to access a protected method from another class either.

Adobe Access Server for Protected Streaming Configuration Problem

I cannot get the Adobe Access Server for Protected Streaming sample implementation up and running. Could somebody help me figure out where I'm going wrong?
I've configured the license server with the correct PFX files and when I run the validation tool, I get the following output. This is a clean install with only the license server configuration (the content server is a separate machine). I also get a similar error in the tomcat logs when I try to access a piece of content licensed to this server.

I found the problem.
Certificates/KeyServer/File[@path] needs to be set your license file, but it must be in the ".cer" format. The server won't start without this fileand it was not mentioned anywhere in the quick start guide but is mentioned in the protected streaming document.

Firefox allows access to password protected site even when I have logged out?

I have developed a website with password protected pages - but Firefox STILL allows access to the protected pages after I have logged out and even if I close and re-open Firefox?
I have cleared the cache and checked 'Do not remember passwords' IE works OK??

My question is: Why are so many machines in this state, and is it safe for me to just run the "manage-bde -on c: -cn AAAAAA" on them or could it cause problems?

I mean to say, it's the MBAM agent who sends information to the MBAM Server about the recovery keys and TPM information. So when you are using manage-bde commands for encryption, the recovery keys will not get stored to the MBAM DBs.
What you need to do is to start the encryption with manage-bde and then at the next client wake up frequency which you have set in your environment, MBAM Agent will send the recovery information to the MBAM web servers an dthen the recovery keys will be
stored to the MBAM DBs.
But in this case also, TPM ownership information will not get stored to the MBAM DBs. For that you need to run a script if you have saved the TPM information in Active Directory. I have posted the script on Technet Gallery.

Using VB code, I am attempting to modify a Crystal Report before exporting it into a PDF format and then displaying it on the Web.
My problem is that I am unable to access the formula used to dynamically suppress a field.
The following code is working:

I can not find any reference to the actual suppression formula in the SDK help file.
Note, the EnableSuppress can be set to True for False, but if there is a formula for dynamic suppression, the True or False value is overwritten. The results of the formula determine the suppression.
Is there a way to reference this formula. I know that I can put on in using the Crystal Report Designer software, I need to modify this formula using VB code and the SDK.

If you are using the ReportDocument object you do not have access to the Conditional Suppression formula. You can get around it by using a formula field in the report for the supression and then using the FormulaField code to change it at runtime.
If you want to change the supression condition directly at runtime you need to use RAS and the ReportClientDocument.

How to put data in MESCOD field of in IDOC Control Record ?

We have a File->XI->IDOC scenario.
Two different types of files have to been mapped to the same IDOC (WMMBXY).
We want to use the field MESCOD in order to differ idocs from one type file or the other.
In the Message Mapping, I have the EDI_DC40 record dissabled, to permit that it is fulfilled by XI.
How can I put information in MESCOD field?. Is the only solution to enable EDI_DC40 record ? (I don't like this solution because automatic fulfilled is lost ).
I've seen that a Header Mapping exists in Receiver Agreement, but this is only available to Sender&Receiver.

Access 2010 table has too many fields for web database - how to split into two web-compatible tables?

I'm in the process of converting an Access 2010 database into a web database and I'm having some trouble. I have a table which has 236 fields, which is more than the 220 field limit for web-compatible tables. I have tried to split this table into two tables
with a one-to-one relationship, but web tables can only use lookups as relationships. I've tried to connect the tables with a lookup and then synthesize a one-to-one relationship by using data macros but I'm not having much luck.
I realize that 236 fields is a lot, but it must be set up this way because each field represents a tasks and is a yes/no box to verify that the task has been completed - and the records are different employees for whom which the tasks need to be completed.
Could someone please help me figure out a way to make this table web compatible?

Though as I recall, PUT is disabled by default in SunOne. But that was a while ago so maybe I've forgotten or things have changed.
Have you actually tried doing a PUT to the server to see what happens?
