FORMS 4.5.9. - Convert .FMX to .FMB

How to convert *.fmx file to *.fmb file?

I suppose this is a classic example of re-engineering. Try contacting Oracle they may have a solution here, like Designer product.

Forms Builder Crashes when converting FMT to FMB

Has anyone ever encountered this problem? I just installed 10g developer suite and am opening Forms Builder and I am using the Convert function, converting a from FMT to a FMB, and when I select the file and hit the convert button, Forms Builder crashes almost instantly saying Oracle Forms Designed has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Any ideas? Thanks!

How to convert to FMX to FMB

Hi All,
As I have lost my FMB file, i wanted to convert to FMX to FMB. How do we convert FMX to FMB? Is there way to convert? Please give the steps do so.

But you can get little of your code if you need in fmx. Create a backup of fmx and open it by "word pad" or "Notepad++". You can copy some code from it...

No... It is not possible to convert FMX into FMB and REP into RDF... It would be dangerous as the end user may change
the application by modifying the source code if we provide the facility.

Avoid new Change Requests
Search for older versions

Lastly, dont tell anyone and
Quit the job as soon as possible ... dissappear as the fmbs did

Command line way of converting FMT to FMB

Is there a way to convert FMTs to FMBs from the command line?

This doesn't work! First of all you don't specify the module(s) to be converted anywhere in your statement. Second you specify the output file to be *.fmt, which seems more to be the input.
Even when changing the command with these changes, the command doesn't work. So the question remains: is it possible to convert FMT to FMB from the command line (like it was using f45gen32 for Forms 4.5)?
Help greatly appreciated (needed for big project).

There are thre kinds of colour profile: RBG, Greyscale and CYMK. It's one of those three.
Select one of the Images on the Finder and go File -> get Info. In the "more info" section of the resulting window you'll see the Color Space:

Which Forms Item properties are converted to APEX?

Has it been documented which Forms item properties are converted to APEX with the Application Migrations tool?
For instance the 'required' property will be converted, but item properties like 'format', 'initial value', 'hint', 'tooltip', 'auto hint', 'justification', 'case restriction' and 'max length' are ignored
I hope more Forms item properties will be converted in a next APEX release.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have read that piece of paper, but it doesn't tell you in detail what item properties are converted.
I would have liked for instance that the "hint text" property is converted into a help text for a page item.
If the auto hint or tooltip is set in forms, than the Template label of a page item should be set to optional/required with help.
and so on...
There are more item properties which could have a destination in APEX, I reckon.
Now it's difficult to tell which are and which aren't converted.
As soon as you have this kind of list you know which post configuration actions you have to perform.

If the file is open, forms might have problems to overwrite it.
Make sure the destination file is not open

FRM-10043: Cannot open file after converting SQL*Form 2.3 INP to 4.5 FMB

After running the f45gen32.exe on a version SQL*Form 2.3 INP file, it generates
the version 4.5 FMB adn the .err file (that does not indicate that any errors have occurred).
When I attempt to open the converted module using Developer 2000 v.1.3, it continuously
indicates the following error:
FRM-10043: Cannot open file
This error is received despite selecting all the required conversion parameters (per metalink and
other notes found on this forum).
This is a conversion of SQL*Forms version 2.3 to 4.5, with the ultimate goal of converting to 6i.
The same process works with other forms.?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have a workaround for this issue?
Is Developer 2000 v.1.3 the incorrect version to use?

Convert script for fmb to fmt

FRM-10044: Cannot create file.
Please help.

It is likely that the modules cannot be found. Also, some of the parameters you are passing are not likely necessary. For example, upgrade and upgrade_plsql are not needed. These only apply if you are compiling an old Forms modules to newer. You can find the complete details in the online help.
Try this in the batch, but be sure to change ORACLE_HOME and FORMS90_PATH and USERID to yours (no other changes should be needed):
SET ORACLE_HOME=C:\oracle10g\iDS904
SET FORMS90_PATH=C:\FormsReports904
SET PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\bin;%PATH%
FOR %%F in (%FORMS90_PATH%\*.fmb) DO start /w frmcmp.exe batch=yes module_type=form userid=scott/tiger@orcl module=%%F script=yes

I have a problem while runtime form used.Same form (fmb) if i will go to compile it won't allow to compile..due to that form fmx ia already used.
SO can you help me what is the solution ?..bcos in Developer 6i we can compile multiple time even though form is used.

Complicated Excel form needs to be converted to PDF Fillable form

I have an Excel file have has hidden cheater fields (M&N) and a hidden lookup table (O:P).
The form fields that are used follow (using row 10 as an example, rows 10-25 are involved)
E10 = Lengthft (entry field)
F10 = Widthft (entry field)
G10 = Patchsy (formula)=ROUND(IF(F10="",0,(E10*F10)/9),3)
H10 = PlanPatchThicknessin (entry field)
I10 = MeasuredPavementThicknessin (entry field)
J10 = Adjustedsy (formula)=IF(F10="",0,IF(N10="Extra Work","Extra Work",G10*(N10/100)+G10))
M10 = hidden field (formula)=((I10-H10)/H10)*100
N10 = hidden field (formula)=VLOOKUP(M10,O1:P7,2)

Extra Work
I know very little about java script and have been learning as I go. I have created some custom calculation fields but this is way over my head. I have converted the pdf to a form and added the fields, I have already added calculations for Patchsy and ToDatesy (not shown in list of fields).
I am completely lost in how to proceed with the Adjustedsy field because it is using all these hidden fields to obtain the answer.

I have tried to write this out as a problem and not sure if it makes sense to anyone but me. This is all used to fill one field (AdjustedSYRow1). The last part of the problem is written as an if statement. Not sure how else to write it out.
I understand the variable part and can write the first part of the problem - then I get to the lookup and don't know how to do that.

That will answer the first part of the problem, but then I get hung up on the rest of it.
First part of the problem:
((Measured Pavement Thickness - Plan Patch Thickness) / Plan Patch Thickness ) * 100
Example with form field names: ((MeasuredRow1 – PlanRow1) / PlanRow1) * 100
This is where I get stuck:
If the answer to the above is…
< -30 then -20,
between -20.0001 and -30, then -15,
between -10.0001 and -20 then -10,
between -10 and 10, returns null(?), a period was used in the excel lookup because a zero would not work – but it means that there is no adjustment.
between 10.0001 and 20 then 10,
between 20.0001 and 30 then 15,
over 30 then “Extra Work”)
The above information (in bold) is then used to complete the rest of the problem.
=IF(F10="",0,IF(N10="Extra Work","Extra Work",G10*(N10/100)+G10))
Example with form field names: If WidthftRow1=””,0,if(above answer is “Extra Work”, “Extra Work”, PatchRow1*(above answer/100)+PatchRow1

Finally , the applet main.class initializes but the specified
FMX file could not be displayed.
Is it possible to explain us what is going wrong ;

If your fmx cannot be found try first to have a hard coded path to the fmx in your HTML something like module=c:\temp\a.fmx
If it works this way then you probably didn't set the FORMS60_PATH entry in the regedit correctly to include the path to the form.
set it and remove the path from your html.
Also I would suspect that your jar is not loaded since your codebase is not pointing to it's directory.
Open the java console to see if it gets downloaded to the client.
