Forms & email

Hi just looking at the creation of forms and wanted to know
if adobe was the right platform.
I have a form in excel that is dynamic and will change
depending in a users drop down selections within that form. Once
filled out a user will submit it, it will then send itself by email
off to be approved where it can be sent on or rejected.
Should I look into adobe as an alternative solution
Alex?

Hello ANaysmith,
Thanks for your post.
You certainly could look into Adobe as an alternative
solution. Acrobat 9 works with Acrobat.com to collaborate with
forms easily, and the ability to keep the information online lets
you access it anywhere you are.
If you have questions, you could ask the Acrobat Forums, or
look into the
Acrobat.com
Help file.
Since most of the work you'll be doing will be in Acrobat
Pro, you may want to ask this question in the
Acrobat
forums where the users there are much more versed in using the
full desktop software.
Hope this helps as a starting point, let us know if you have
other questions!
Thanks!
Pete

  • I requested a repair, but there was an error after clicking the button with my credit card info. I was still charged, but the form email I received the next day had incorrect info about my iPod Touch problem. How can I contact CS w/o paying $19?!

My iPod Touch battery is not working. I requested a repair through the Apple Support. On the final page, when I clicked the button that puts the info through with your credit card number, the resulting page gave an error (I wish I'd have saved it!). Anyhow, I checked my credit card and it was charged, so I assumed the repair request went through. The next day I received a form email saying my problem was with "Sync with iTunes (Not iCloud) - Data Backup/Migration (not iCloud)" instead of the battery repair. It also says for iPod customers, to send your iPod to Apple - but I had requested the "iPod Coffin" to be mailed to me so I could send it back. Obviously there was an error between the request and what was received, so I'd like to ask Customer Service about it. However, I can't find a way to contact them. When I replied to that form email, I recieved an automated reply saying emails there were not read. Anything online asks me to pay $19 and I don't have the correct issues to request an exception. The closest store is over an hour away or I'd simply go there to ask. What can I do?! Any suggestions you have are much appreciated. Thank you!
PS - The form email also says if I wait 10 days the repair request will be canceled. Does this mean my credit card will be refunded for the $85 battery replacement charge if it is canceled automatically?

Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.
Perhaps someones knows how to further escalate the issue at Apple?

  • Max amount of forms emailed

    Hey,
I am creating a form in indesign to sign up for an event. Now that designing isnt the real problem but this is:
For the event(on multiple day's) there is a limited number of sign up.
Is there some kind of function to verify if that number is reached?
So you click send, and then it just send if there are less than 350 forms emailed, or if there are more it shows an error message that that day is full?
    Hope you guy's van help.
    Rob

Personally, I would have the form be a fill-out, print and snail-mail or fax form. Have the URL on the form for people to go to an on-line version of the form.
Emailing forms or form data can be fraught with problems. So many people these days use something other than what would be considered a "default email" application. Instead opting for browser-based emailing.
You can have  a button that pushes people to a web site for on-line registrations. Use PHP or ASP.net to process the form. Have a simple shopping cart system to deal with quantities of registrations for any given event.
You can have the Acrobat form data feed a PayPal shopping basket upon a submit action as well. Depending on how you set up the PP account, it can keep simple "inventory" (in your case, seats at an event) so you cannot overbook.
But using Acro forms for such direct "booking" isn't something I recommend. Once people click that submit butting, whether they are sending XML or whatever data type vial email, or simply pushing them to an on-line form, they will get a security warning about whether they really want to do whichever action you've scripted.
Just my opinion about "live" Acro forms.
    Take care, Mike

  • I only see Web Forms & Email in Site Manager

Why do I only see Web Forms & Email settings in the Site Manager for a WebMarketing Site? Where did everything else go? I'm trying to upload a pdf file and that function is gone in BC.

    Hi,
If you have published the site via Muse, Please try this
In Admin Panel, on your Right Hand side top, Mouse over on your name and Go to "My Details". You will see a check box "Enable online content editing". Check this box, Click save and logout. Login again, and goto site manager, you will see some more options like File manager
Please let me know if you have any other query.

I have been testing the version 2008.2 and noticed the "Form" link in the email templates, has anyone used this or know what its for?
It seems like a useful feature, but I can not find any documentation on its use.
    Thank you

    Hi Daniel,
The HTML widget we have incorporated into the application is an open source tool. It's name is FCKeditor. Here is the URL for the documentation site: http://docs.fckeditor.net/

Okay you need to post a code sample of what your trying to do to enable someone to comment on it. If you get an error what is the error ? if your having a particular issue what is the particular issue.

Apparently I have 2 apple IDs, but not on purpose. The first is my former email address used for my iPod Touch. When I later purchased an iPad2, I thought I updated my Apple ID using my new email and new married name. Apparently I created a second. I want to consolidate them using my current email, etc. But I can't remember my old password. I can't do a password reset bcz. it sends the link to my former/deactivated email. Security Qs like d.o.b. don't "match." So, when I use my iPod & it requires my password to carry out certain functions, I'm stuck. Please help! Thx

    No.
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Configurable PHP form emailer

I'm looking suggestions for a drop-in PHP form emailer
script... something that I can either configure by using templates
that are unique to each form or some other method of per-form
    configurability.
I'm using soupermail.pl now, but would like to move away from
it because it has issues with certain users who use AOL and have
Norton security products (they will receive errors when submitting
    the form).
I do not want to write a generic form mailer from scratch, as
I am not comfortable with ensuring that it is safe from spammers...
I would like to find something that I can use from several forms on
my site. I do not need to write anything to a database, just be
able to email to variable destination email accounts. I do not want
to be able to upload or send attachments.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Since installing Maverick, speed has slowed down considerably. Not able to export photos form email to iphoto. What is going on?

Since installing Maverick, speed has slowed down considerably. Not able to export photos form email to iphoto. What is going on?

    When did you install?
Spotlight will need to re-index the entire system so that can cause slow performance if you updated recently. It can take many hours on a large disk with a lot of data. Click the Spotlight menu, it should say if it is still indexing.
There is no point trying to fix anything whilst this is ongoing, because it may just speed up when complete.
Are you able to drag photos from email to the Desktop or to iPhoto's icon? How about the 'File menu > Save attachments' option?
Please clarify what you have tried, otherwise we may waste time on the wrong thing.
If the system is generally unstable there are other things to try too, such as safe boot.
    https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
That will isolate all third party software, if the Mac is able to do the things that didn't work it suggests that you have software that is loading at startup or login. The easiest way for us to see these is if you download EtreCheck & generate a report.
Post the report here & we can try pointing to items that you can either update or remove.

  • Digital signatures won't print in a PDF form emailed to me.  PLEASE HELP!

I've been trying to print some documents emailed to me in PDF format.  On my monitor, the entire document shows up fine, INCLUDING THE SIGNATURES, however when I print them, the form is printed WITHOUT the VERY NECESSARY signatures!  PLEASE help!  I've been trying to resolve this for 2 1/2 days with a great deal of help from my vetrinarian and Global Vet Link!

When I select Print Comments and Markups, it still doesn't print.  The signatures were created using the Pencil tool.  Not sure why its not printing.

  • PDF form - email subject line = field

I am creating a PDF form on our intranet to be filled out and submitted via email with a submit button. All works well, but the recipients would like the subject line of the email to be info from the first field on the form so that it is easily searchable. I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 (also have Acrobat 8 Professional) but haven't found anywhere to edit this info.  I have read thread referencing possible solutions by utilizing javascript, but I'm not sure where to begin where javascript is concerned (not my forte).
Right now the form is Submitted by Email via a "Button" set to Control Type: Submit. Under the Submit tab I have set the Submit to URL field to - mailto:"emailaddress".
Also, the recipients mentioned that they can't see the PDF in the body of their email, instead its only an attachment. We are all using Outlook and Outlook Webmail and would like to see the PDF in the body.  Is there an easy way to accomplish this as well?
Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Now I understand what you mean .....if you are using a true submit button then the validations will run automatically. If you are using a button for programming and that is calling the submit button then you will have to fire the validations yourself. The command to do this is:
    if
    (form1.execValidate()){ SubmitButtonName.execEvent("click")
    else {
         app.alert("You have validation errors...");
where form1 is the root node of your form. If the validations run and there are no errors then it will return a true value and the submitbutton will be pressed. If there are errors then the message box will appear. and the submit will not occur.
    Hope that helps
    Paul

  • How do I create a "form email"?

I have a couple standard emails I send out for my job.   I made up a form mail that I can just fill in some info and send.   I know I can save it as a draft but as soon as I open it and make changes the draft is gone.  Mail gave me the option to save it as stationery but I can't find the email in the folder or any folder.  I suppose I could cut and past it into a pages document but I was hoping I could save it in a way I could open it in mail, revise, and send it, easily. Does anyone have any idea where it was saved and how I can open it?

    Nothing's perfect.
I've also been a mac guy since 1984. I have underwear that is older than the kids that work at the mac store.
My 2 cents: PC's still suck way, way, way more than macs. When I try to use a PC at work, it makes me want to kill myself, even when it isn't crashing. The current Mac OS does many orders of magnitude more than the OS's did way back when. And sometimes errors creep in. Mostly due to third party software. But these problems are usually fixable.
If you'd like to fix it here's a suggestion:
go to ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences and find a file called com.apple.mail.plist and drag it to the trash, and then restart.
(the Library file in ~/ is hidden- to access it, you hold down the option key and go to the Go menu in the Finder).
I bet that will fix the problem. You'll have to reenter your mail preferences.
Also there are a couple of other ways to do this that you might like.
You could use automator with applescript, or QuicKeys Startly - QuicKeys 4 for Mac OS X , to save some text macros that you could just enter with a hotkey or a service; or you could use a bulk mailing program like MaxBulk Mailer Maxprog | MaxBulk Mailer, bulk emailer software and mail-merge tool for Mac OS and Windows to have some predefined emails. I use both methods.
If you'd rather do your cut and paste, then that's up to you. Thanks.

  • Adobe 9 Pro Forms-email results

I have adobe 9 pro and am making an electronic form. I would like when the user hits submit for it to email an address. My issue is I can't have it be an attachment, is there any way to configure the form to email the field names with the input?

You can have then submit the .xml (information from the form fields only) then import it into the original form on your end but, it will still be an attachment.
Have you considered creating a web form that will generate an email to you that contains all the information from the form fields and nothing else?
Seems to me that having something like that on your company intranet would be best.

  • Acrobat Form email submit

    Hi
Just wondering if it is possible to have a form created in acrobat 8 pro emailed back once complete? I only seem to be able to print the form them fax. not ideal...
    Thanks in advance
    A

Depends on how many uses you need.
If under 500, you can enable usage rights for Reader users in the "Advanced" menu.
They'll then be able to fill out the form, save it, then attach it to an email to you.

  • Pdf forms (emails) not working after update

I recently have discovered that muse is not sending email pdf forms from the website. Is this a bug? I could not get it to work from preview or browser. I even uploaded a test and sure enough it doesn't send the form. The form sends fine from acrobat, so I know the mailto: settings are correct.
I checked acrobat settings and tried some work arounds. tested again and no luck.
As a final test, I updated an existing website that the forms currently work correctly.  When I updated the site and previewed in browser mode, the forms could not be emailed any more. It's like the mailing URL link doesn't work because nothing was changed on the updated website - it was purely a test to confirm the problem.
    Please help!
If anyone else is having this issue, please post here.

(I had this on a different post not realizing it should have gone here)

definately error 0013 and not 1013?
If 1013, I copied this from another thread, it worked a treat for me yesterday when I kept getting error 1013
More complete solution for those not knowing where to find the file:
    On Mac:
    * Open Finder
    * Hold down COMMAND + SHIFT keys and press 'G'
    * Enter "/private/etc/" in the field and press "Go"
    * Find "hosts" file in the directory
    * Drag the file to your desktop
    * Open it in text editor
    * Remove the line that has gs.apple.com entirely or put a # at the beginning of it to comment it out
    * Save the file
    * Drag it back to the /private/etc/ folder.
    * You'd need to enter your username and password to authenticate the move
    On Windows:
    * Locate the hosts file in one of the following directories:
    Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts
    Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    Windows XP, Vista, 7 c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    * Right click and click on "Open With..." and then click on "Notepad" on the list.
    * Remove the line that has gs.apple.com completely and save the file.
    This should work fine.
