Forms (form-mail) problem
I've been searching for days on end to try and solve this problem but have to admit defeat. What I am trying to do is to just get a form on my website to work. I have created the form and now I somehow need to get the info from the form sent to my email address. I've had a look at various form-mail scripts, but find it hard to understand what to do with them. I've contacted my web hoster, but all I can ascertain from them is that they don't supply a script for this and that when I have one I should upload it into /public_html/cgi-bin
I have decided it would be easier to purchase something which creates the script for my form, but I'm unsure as to what format to get. I have a choice of PHP or Perl (my web hoster provides both) - Is one better than the other? If someone could advise me on this I'd really, really appreciate it!

Well your not going to just magically have this working I would say today. What I would suggest is to invest in a getting started book in PHP. PHP is simple but you must take a step back from what you are doing and just spend a day or two reading some not all of the book to see whats going on. Then write a couple little things from the examples to get a starting grasp on it. I am sure that there are plenty of PHP developers in these Adobe forums that would be glad to assist you with this once you have made some effort into picking up PHP. PHP will allow you do more than just static html pages. Perl I have not done but have heard its more like programming or regular expressions so I would not suggest that you start there. PHP would be an easier path to get started on.

I set up an e-mail form with a "send by e-mail" button on it. I used the "mailto: ......" command and tested it on my computer and several others. It worked fine. However, I've been contacted by a few form users who said it would not send from their computers. If a user doesn't have a client e-mail set up, could that be a problem? Some may use web-based e-mails. Is there a way / command I can put in to tell the user's computer to send by their default e-mail application, whether Outlook, Gmail, secure mail or other?
TomIf you use the forms distribution process to send your form in Acrobat, the recipient will be prompted to choose a desktop or internet email program. You can find further details on this in the tutorial Form Submit/ E-mail Demystified.

Having problems with and advanced form to Mail PHP app in Dreamweaver
Hello,
I would like to start off by saying i am horrible when it comes to php of any kind so i use an attachment for my forms call Advanced from to Mail PHP in dreameaver for connecting my site to my email contact for user data.
I have had this problem a few times but don't remember what someone told me about a year ago, the form that i have setup is from a free template so i did not set it up. Any how i am gettiing an error where dreamweaver is stating i need to "Please Enter Valid Form" pretty sure that means the from im trying to manipulate is unreadable for this application.
Are there any PHP or form experts out there that may be able to help me in making this form readable to the app i am using in order to tie it to my email for submisions?
I will post a picture of the form i am trying to use the app on, the app and the error i am getting.
Could it be that i have to replace <label for= with <Input Name possibly?!

It's asking for a valid 'FROM' field, not FORM. -
I have two Apple IDs - one associated with iPad and iPhone and the other associated with iMac and MacAir. I am going to lose the former e-mail address imminently and would like to associate all devices with just one ID. How do I do this? Thanks
Thanks - I guess it is like there were two of me!
I bought the iPhone first and it seemed natural to link it to the (work) e-mail address which was in constant use. The iMac for home use came next and it seemed natural to use my home e-mail address, particularly as I knew by then that I would lose the work address after my imminent retirement. The same logic went for the recent puchase of the MacAir. I am not sure what happened with the iPad (also a recent purchase) - iTunes seemed to puch me towards the same ID as the iPhone.
It is not a huge problem - just makes my persona look schizoid! Otherwise very happy with everything Apple. -
Error while opening the ADOBE FORM via mail
Hi to all,
I have created a program to attached ADOBE FORM to mail.
When I execute the program, it sends ADOBE FORM to my mail ID successfully.
But when I open my mail and try to open attached ADOBE FORM, it gives error
ADOBE READER COULD NOT OPEN u2018PDF FORM (1). PDFu2019 because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( for example, it was sent as an email attached and wasnu2019t correctly decoded).
Please can any tell me, what the problem is and what the solution is for that?

To have my form information mailed to me, do I need to have a php file?
I've got an account with godaddy, and have tried to make a php document (don't understand the coding) for a simple form, but I can't get the results to show up in my email. I just can't figure out what to put in my php. I copied a template, but none of the data shows up in my email, only the subject. (see at end) Isn't there a much easier way to do all this?

The php script (or any server side script) does not need to be in the same directory level as your index file or any other html file. You can put it anywhere in the site and provide the path in the form's action.

Not sure exactly what you mean but the script can connect to your mail server to email the message or insert data to a database server - or several other possibilities.

Godaddy provides server side scripts that you can use.

Many mail form scripts can generically handle form processing. They iterate through all of the form fields and process them accordingly. You need to review the script documentation to make sure you setup your form correctly. -

You will need to go to settings>mail contacts and calendars Once you are there you will then add the email account you are wanting to sync the information from to your mobile device. Once the account is added to the mobile device you then will be able to sync contacts ect... to the device.

You can see where I am trying to go with this. I want to use the $need variable to determine where the email is going to go (two people in each case). But I am testing this script and cannot get to send me an email without any if statements.

Forms/Designer 10g - problem with attached libraries
I've problem with forms with attached libraries. All of libraries have removed paths. I can run all forms without any problem on my local application server from Forms Builder 9i or Designer 9i. I added all paths in registry FORMS90_PATH. WORKINGDIRECTORY in formsweb.cfg is blank.
Unfortunately I can't do it with Developer 10g on second workstation. I added all paths in registry FORMS_PATH. WORKINGDIRECTORY in formsweb.cfg is blank too. When form is running I get ORA-06508. I can't store all files (fmb, fmx, pll, plx etc.) in one folder because I've to use CVS. In this case I can't set any folder in WORKINGDIRECTORY.Assuming Forms 10.1.2.x, FMX, MMX, PLX, and OLB files are found based on the value of FORMS_PATH which is set in default.env and not the Registry. This applies to runtime only. The Builder uses the Registry.
Understand that "runtime" refers to any time a form is displayed in a browser, regardless of whether is was started from the Builder or Application Server.
Also, be aware that if you have FMX, MMX, or PLX files which were created in older versions they must be recompiled using the 10.1.2 compiler. -

and i have checked the log file.
It reads as follows
Unknown calculation type [0] during the dynamic calculation. Only default agg/formula/time balance operations are handled.
An error [1012703] occurred in Spreadsheet Extractor.

There is an error in a formula(s), therefore, no calculations will work. The problem is that when you have the outline open in Edit mode and you try to 'Validate', it does not identify any of these errors, nor does it write it to a log. However, you can go one by one and validate each formula. So any time you delete a member or modify a member name, be sure that this member is not included in any formula.

I still do not have my desired solution.
I can not work with userexit_move_field_to_vbap because this userexit is called at the begin of creating a sales document.
With Userexit_field_modification I still have the problem that I loose the value in VBAP-KTGRM when I leave the dynpro.
My coding Inside Userexit_field_modification:
CASE screen-name.
WHEN 'VBAP-KTGRM'.
Set to INPUT on when in Create or Change mode
IF ( t180-trtyp = charh OR t180-trtyp = charv ).
screen-input = 1.
ENDIF.

These code lines make the field editable but I see no chance to save the entered value of VBAP-KTGRM.

Upgrade install to 10.5 Mail problems solution
Ok, I am posting this after 2 days of research why Mail behaves crazily after I installed 10.5 via update. I tried archive and install as well with same Mail problems resulting.
Now maybe this wont work for everybody, but it solved all my problems like a charm resulting in Mail working perfectly now.
After one whole annoying day behind the forums I just thought I should post it.
The basic problem was that my Mail didn't want to receive messages while the progress bars were just spinning infinite. Quitting Mail had to be done via Force Quite to stop it.
First thing i noticed was that if I open "*Previous recipients*" panel I get the everlasting spinning beach ball.
So I gathered that there must be some problem in the communication between Mail and Address Book. I backuped the Address Book database and deleted everything I could find connected with Address Book.
Next step was going to Mail folder in my User Library where I deleted all mailboxes .plists and mails because I had some messages I couldn't delete in Mail app. I also deleted other .plist files.
Then I reinstalled Address Book via additional install and rebooted the machine.
Address Book now contained no addresses. I opened Mail, and bingo everything started working, opening "previous recipients" showed 0 contacts and I starter using Mail without problems.
To finish the thing, just backup Address Book ad voila.
Now, maybe that won't sort out everybody's problem, but it sure did mine. And I had all Mail problems described on this forum while sing Mail.
