Forms on MacbookPro problems

My form takes a very long time to display -- over 60 seconds on a high speed line. This will turn prospects off.
The pdf version of the form does not display properly in the Firefox (v. 22.0) browser -- the answer boxes are missing and the questions that depend on previous questions don't appear at all.
On the Preview (v.6.0.1) viewer, the answer boxes are missing.
This is a very disappointing situation and results in a rather non-professional effect, which is a turnoff.

Can you please send your fillable form link to [email protected] I will check what takes so long to load the form. It shouldn't take more than 1 sec for your form to load.
The PDF can't be filled directly in the browser in in third party viewers like Preview. The user needs to download the PDF and use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader or the Adobe Reader Mobile to fill out the PDF. This is because third party viewers don't really support the full functionalities of PDF Forms.

Forms/Designer 10g - problem with attached libraries

I've problem with forms with attached libraries. All of libraries have removed paths. I can run all forms without any problem on my local application server from Forms Builder 9i or Designer 9i. I added all paths in registry FORMS90_PATH. WORKINGDIRECTORY in formsweb.cfg is blank.
Unfortunately I can't do it with Developer 10g on second workstation. I added all paths in registry FORMS_PATH. WORKINGDIRECTORY in formsweb.cfg is blank too. When form is running I get ORA-06508. I can't store all files (fmb, fmx, pll, plx etc.) in one folder because I've to use CVS. In this case I can't set any folder in WORKINGDIRECTORY.

Assuming Forms 10.1.2.x, FMX, MMX, PLX, and OLB files are found based on the value of FORMS_PATH which is set in default.env and not the Registry. This applies to runtime only. The Builder uses the Registry.
Understand that "runtime" refers to any time a form is displayed in a browser, regardless of whether is was started from the Builder or Application Server.
Also, be aware that if you have FMX, MMX, or PLX files which were created in older versions they must be recompiled using the 10.1.2 compiler.

HELP! Form-Report integration problem!

Hi all, I have a problem in integrating report in dev10i. I used to use Dev6i and have no problem in using run_report_object in 6i. I have posted this in Report for few days but haven't got response.
I got the REP-0503 You did not specify the name of the report and FRM-40738 Argument 1 to builtin Report_Object_Status can not be null. The report run OK in report builder and I create the paper only layout. Also, I save the report as *.rdf and create a report object in form that point to this *.rdf file.

What gives? Do I miss something here? Do I have to set up other thing??? Also what is the name of report server in Dev10i? I am under impression that this is not needed so I put blank '' when I call this procedure in WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger like this:

Hi all, I created simple report from 1 table and save it as *.rdf. I then make a simple form consisting 1 block and a button that have WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger that call P_PRINT_REPORT_OBJ. I create a report object in the form that point to my *.rdf report file and name the object MYREPORT. This time it gives Rep-0110 Can not open file '%n~<intangible character>' and REP-1170 Error while opening or saving a document. After that other message popup with REP-0110. It seems that FIND_REPORT_OBJECT could not find the file at all/giving the wrong filename as argument. Do I have crooked installation? I have tried it on 2 diff machine running XP2. Is this because of Win XP2? I have admin privilage user account for winXP2. Please help, this is not making a sense at all. I have no problem in Dev6i.

Two AM's with the same name but different forms causes Deployment problems

Two Masters forms, DOC & PM are cloned except for the "where clause" in the View's query and the titles in their JSP's.
DOC workspace has a BC project and a BC4JSP Project. The BC project comprises of the EO and VO named ComVsStaticValue. In the Edit prop-> query for the VO I have specified the "where clause" as VSSV_VS_CODE='DOCTOR'.
In Java Webserver :-
The JSP's are located in C:\source\Doctor\ .. and the *.xml and *.class files generated by the BC proj is in C:\source\Doctor\pol_ValueSet\..
If I execute Doctor in JWS the records are getting filtered properly.

I want to know whether this problem is because both have the same name for the AM and the BC4JSP's property file.
Please clarify.

Deploying two app modules with the same name will definitely cause problems.
The JSPs use the information in the properties file to connect to the application module and get the data they need from the appropriate View Objects in those app modules. If you have two app modules with the same name, when a JSP tries to connect, it has no way of knowing which one of the app modules to connect to if they both have the same name.
You could:
1. Just use one application module that contains all the View Objects you need to access.
or
2. Rename one of the application modules or the package it is located in so the names are distinct. If you choose this method, you will also need to update the JSPs (specifically the 'registerApplicationFrompPopertyFile' method call), and your JSP project's appmodule property file.

Hyperion planning data form in smartview: problem with summary time period

We are using Planning ver. 11.1.2.2.300.20 and smartview 11.1.2.2.300 (build 070)
We use common Data Form:
In columns: Periods (Descendants including YearTotal - with no checkbox on start expanded)
In Rows :accounts
In some of our users computers,
When they open Data Form in Excel (with Smart View) - its appears very strange:
Summary Accounts are displayed as level 0 account in the summary Period columns (i.e. not in grey) and permit entering data.
In addition when Entering data in summary time period (i.e. Year or Quarter),
strangely, the data doesn't spread to the descendants months (level 0) .
This phenomenon occurs just in few of the computers.
Please help, how can we overcome this problem?

All computers have the same version of planning and smartview.
The computers where the Periods spreading and aggregation properties in Data form are not working,
do work wonderfully when opening the Data forms in the web.
I've tried everything, (remove suppressing, validations etc.):
In all kind of data forms the spreading and aggregation properties on summary time periods are not working in smartview -
and summary accounts on rows are not displayed in grey and permit entering data.
We remove and reinstall MS-Office (2007) from the problematic computers, but it didn't help.
Do you know if there is any kind of settings or softwares that might cause this phenomenon
i.e. interrupts the smartview translation of the web Data Forms.

Report Called from FORMS having Printing Problem

Hi all
Guys i have a report problem in reports 6i.
I am calling a report from my FORM 6i directly to printer (a dot matrix printer).
I have set
Add_Parameter(pl_id,'DesType',TEXT_PARAMETER,'printer');
The report is actually a confirmation report and i have given its layout height equal to 3.7 . But when i send it to printer it ejects the paper equal to 11 (equal to height of a portarait report).
How can manage this ejection from Form or Report Side.
NOTE : This problem occurs even if print the report from report preview(means not printed directlty from FORM).
Kindly help me with this if any.
I need it urgent.

I am getting problem
with the Oracle reports. I have a dot matrix printer (Epson LQ-300, which is a
tractor feed printer). While printing a report which is always not more than half a
page, the printer does not stop after printing the report(the half page). It stops at
the end of the page. I mean that half the page is printed and the rest half is blank.
I want that the printer should print only at half a page. On the blank half it should
print another copy of same report.

Oracle forms in APEX problem

Hi all,
I have called oracle forms into my oracle apex application through iframe but having few problems.
Sometimes oracle forms in iframe region got stuck and then not work any more and if I logout from apex and login again it still in that stuck position.
I don't no what to do now.
I am thinking that it is reading from cache and i tried to close browser and clear cache and then login it still in that position.
I want that whenever oracle forms are called it, does not read cache and run from scratch.
Any solution guys.....

When I fill fields on a form and ask to print using form fields only, the infomation doesn't show up. Other people in the office use the same form with no problem. Using XI standard.

I have a fillable form that is used by everyone in the office. When the fields are filled we print using the form fields only option to print on our invoices. When I go to print it in Acrobat XI standard using the form fields only option, none of the information I filled shows up or prints. No one else in the office has this problem. Does anyone know why I can't do this, but other people can?

Form text box problems please help???

I am creating a form in adobe XI and am having some problems with a text field I am trying to get the text field to allow me to add multi-line text with rich text editing and I am unable with the setting I have checked. I have gone to properties for the text field and have checked them as follows, Font size is at auto then I went to Options and set it to left alignment and selected multi-line and rich text formatting. But when I have put all the text in the box and I go back to a sentence to make it bold I am unable to do so... Please help??????

How are you trying to set the text as bold? Are you using the Properties bar?

"Send Form Again?" Problem

When sending a "reply" to an online forum thread using Safari 3.1, frequently I am halfway through the reply and need to add a live link. When I go to another URL, copy the link, and try to return to my reply, I get the "Do you really want to send this form again?" message. If I cancel, Safari just stays at the second URL and does nothing. If I "Send," I am taken back, not to my half-completed Reply, but to a blank "Reply" form. This of course means I have to backtrack and re-type in the new reply form up to the point where I add the desired link.
Because I sometimes need to add more than one external live link into a given reply, I have been forced to send part of a message, and then "Edit" the message to add each live link one at a time.
The older versions of Safari did not have this problem; they always returned me to the place I left without giving me the "Do you want to send this form again?" message. Does anyone else have this problem? Or know a fix?

Glad to hear using tabs has proven to be the perfect solution for you.
I use several 3rd party add-ons in Safari. One is SafariStand. Preferences are accessed via the Stand Menu. One of the features is "switch tab with wheel". Useful if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel. Position the cursor over the Tab bar. Then, rotate the scroll wheel of the mouse. This is a quick way of moving from tab to tab, especially if you have a number of them open.

Reports 10g problem: Before parameter form trigger(BPFT) problem

In report bilder there is no problem - I get parameter form wit all the parameters, I initialized in BPFT

Why are you using srw.do_sql here? You are just performing some sql and pl/sql statements here. This is an explanation of do_sql in the Report Builder Help:
"Since you cannot perform *DDL statements* in PL/SQL, the SRW.DO_SQL packaged procedure is especially useful for performing them within Report Builder, instead of via a user exit."
So, your code would simply be:

Smart forms Print preview problem

I am working in CRM2007. I am creating number of different type Smart forms for our client requirement. All Smart Forms working fine in WEB GUI. In Web GUI there have two buttons; one is print buttons and another one is Print Preview buttons. When we press print buttons it is directly go to printer for printing service order or service invoice or sales order or sales invoice whatever user is selected. Means working fine print buttons. And in case when we press print preview button it is open selected forms in PDF format; it is also work fine in our desire. But problem is here PDF format front size; which is very small. And after looking the PDF format if we select for print out of this PDF form; the print out orientation is Landscape and front size is very small. Now my question to all of experts u2026u2026u2026.How I change PDF front size and orientation? u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026any type of BSP Enhancement or functional setting is required? Please Experts help meu2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..

Forms save message problem!

Um working in forms 9i.
I have set SeprateFrame = True in the configuration file, so that the forms applet opens up in a new window.
Now there are two BROWSER windows...one, in which user types the URL of the Forms server and Second, in which the forms applet opens.
I can close the form without getting the default Forms "Do u want to save the ....?" message (by clicking the cross button on the APPLET inside the BROWSER)if there are any pending changes in the data block with a form level When_Window_Closed trigger using Exit_Form(No_Validate). But the problem starts when there are pending changes in the form and I directly press the cross button on the BROWSER which encloses the APPLET. I get the same annoying Forms message "Do u want to save?".
Could somobody tell me how to control the BROWSER window enclosing the APPLET, because all the forms triggers are related with forms only and one have no control over the BROWSER.

Form builder Language problem under linux

Hello,
i have a problem with my form builder 10g under RHEL 3,
when i write a simple text with in other languages other than English -- russian for example the inputs are not mapped correctly i mean i input a character and it displays other than expected and in the compiled applet the text is always in english,
i have motif 2.1 with latest patches and bidi and Complex Text layout,
and also i've set the NLS_LANG and locale , but i couldn't till now write correctly in any other language except english
is there is any configuration files need to be edited or variables set , can anybody help with this , any links or docs are appreciated. thanks

If you used the standard installation for reader, the path should have been /usr/lib32/Adobe/Reader8/bin and not /usr/lib32/Acrobat/Reader8/bin. Could you confirm how you performed the installation?
The solution is to uninstall and re-install the reader using the standard location. We highly recommend that you install under /opt if it's a system-wide installation. Installing under /usr/lib32 seems strange given that the reader consists of more than just libraries.
If that's not possible, you can fix it by tweaking the INSTALL script that is part of the language pack installer. Change line 198:
