Forms10g+JRE: minimize IE window after logon

Dear professionals,
is there anyway to programmatically minimize internet explorer (or firefox) window after user logon to application (except manually, of course :) )? We use JRE instead Jinitiator and property separate_window=true. Since users sometimes accidentally close opened IE windows, so they close application - i would like to minimize such possibility.
Thanks in advance,
Adnan

Basically there are the
htmlBeforeFormand
htmlAfterFormParameters in the formsweb.cfg where you can add additional html and also JavaScript. Just search on google how to minimize a window via JavaScript and put it in the htmlAfterForm
This will minimize the Browser window when loading your forms appliction. If you want to perform javascript on certain events (e.g. in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Trigger) you can do this with
web.show_documentjust search the forum here on JavaScript and take a look. I'm sure you'll find a starting point. Of course if you are having troubles or something is not clear to you do not hesitate to ask :)
cheers
P.S.: As JavaScript implementations differ between browsers I can guarantee you headaches; what workes in IExplorer won't work in Firefox and vice versa; if you are having troubles with this please add full browser versions as well as this definitely matters in this case.

Is it possible to popup a message window after ERP user log on?

    Jerry,
This is very extensive, but you can always use WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE event with out any form to inform users. But it can get annoying without this lenghy explanation. It depends on how long you wait before you take down the server after you announce.
It is not the perfect way of doing it, but will work (in forms only when a
new form is opened, not in JSPs).
    1. Create a table with some columns like instance_id, maintenance date and
contact details just in case they want to call you, and a flag that
represents the status (in process, completed so on)
    2. Create a simple workflow process with three nodes in that.
    3. Whenever you want bring the server down, just create a process for this
workflow process (WF_ENGINE.create_process). This will insert row into this
    table first time.
    4. Next step in the process can update the status to Completed after say, 1
min (assuming users take at least a min to finish any transaction in one
    form)
    5. Have a timeout in the same workflow that will wait for 5 mins and inserts
one more row similar to the first third step.
    6. Write a small piece of code in custom.pll in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE which
is not form specific. Which means whenever a new form is opened up this
message will appear. This code reads this table and looks at the status
(till it is completed) to pop up a message whenever they open a new form.
Inactive users, I assume you do not care.
    7. You can check in the workflow how many times you want to insert a row
into the table and send a pop up message (select instance_Id,count(*) from
dummy where count(*)=5 if you want five tries). After five tries you can
    complete the workflow.
    Thanks

  • Need to Open a popup window after logon to EP 6.0

    Hi All,
I need to do an enhancement in the portal logon for a particular role.
I want to open a popup showing his/her profile details after login into the system.
    How it can be done?
    Thanks in anticipation

    Hi Robin,
    Thanks for the immediate reply!!!!
I am confused with the loggin process.
I read many blogs from SDN. Somewhere it is said that i should customize the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par. While in some it mention that it should be configured it from the portal. Somewhere it is mentioned in both(par and portal).
Which is the correct way. i am good at programming but not very clear with the portal customization.
Can you help me in this!!!

Firefox is locking up VERY frequently after every few seconds unless I minimize the window and maximize it again. But then in a few seconds it locks up again, I am unable to click anything or DO anything and it is becoming extremely annoying! Ya'll just released a new version that I'd hoped would have fixed this issue, apparently not...and I also can't select an option in a drop down box, I have to use my keyboard to do so...
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

Yeah I'm seeing this as well. A force quit and relaunch seems to solve the problem for a while.
IMHO the app has just gone downhill in the last few years. Useful tools like browser history from the back button are hidden / rendered useless (click and hold doesn't work so well from a track pad), and it's performance just isn't what it used to be.

  • Stuck in a "loop" at the login window after upgrading to Leopard

I bought a new iMac Oct 26. It contained Tiger, and included a disk for installing Leopard. I easily got the machine up and running using Tiger, but last night I attempted to install Leopard. When the installation was complete, I tried to get it running. A screen asking for my password came up. I keyed that in and hit logon. Back came the screen asking for the password. To make long story short, I tried everything I could last night, and then called Apple Support this morning. Took quite a while, but I was back in business this afternoon. The technician who helped me sent me the email copied below describing the solution. Perhaps it will help someone else? Romelle
    Hello from Apple!
Charles at Apple Service & Support thought that you might find this article useful. We hope that it helps resolve your technical issue.
    Link: http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n306965
Mac OS X 10.5, iMac (Late 2007): Stuck in a "loop" at the login window after upgrading to Leopard
    Issue or symptom
After installing Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on a 20-inch or 24-inch iMac (Late 2007) computer, you may not be able to log in at the login window. Your login name and password are apparently accepted, but after a blue screen appears for a few seconds, the login window reappears instead of your desktop.
    Products affected
    20-inch or 24-inch iMac (Late 2007) computer with 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8 GHz processors
    Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
    Solution
    If Leopard is installed
Start up from the Leopard Install DVD and perform an Archive and Install installation (and select Preserve Users and Network Settings).
After the Archive and Install is complete, you should be able to successfully log in. Use Software Update to install any other updates.
Important: Install the iMac Software Update 1.3 for Leopard after the Archive and Install is complete.
If Leopard is not yet installed
If you have not yet installed Leopard on your 20-inch or 24-inch aluminum iMac computer with a 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8 GHz processor running Mac OS X 10.4.x, but previously installed the iMac Software Update 1.2, you should install the iMac Software Update 1.2.1 (Tiger) or later, before installing Leopard.
    Thank you,
    Apple

If Leopard came pre-installed and this is a new machne, then the disks that came in the box should let you archive install preserving users & network settings. The disks have a grey label, and if you get more than one use disk #1 for this procedure.
Hold down the "option" (also known as "alt" on the new keyboards) key when starting up with disk #1 in the optical drive. Select the install disk icon on the grey screen and click the arrow. Then when you get to the "select destination pane, click the options button after selecting your hard drive as the destination. In options A& I preserving should be checked by default, if not, select them. Click "ok" to dismiss the options pane, then run the installation.
If this does not work for you, call apple support. They want everything to work. Be patient, they are real busy these days.

  • Leap and windows domain logon

I'm doing some test with an Air 1200 and some 352 Pc card for one of our customers.
With ACU ver. 4.25.23, I enabled LEAP authentication using the windows user name and password.
Leap authentication is successful, while windows domain logon not.
Not to say using a "normal" NIC that logon succeed.
Sniffing the packets that come out the AP, it seems the domain logon happens... I see the requests/answers between my client and the domain controller...
However, after canceling the windows domain logon I have normal connectivity with the entire network.
Someone experienced that? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Antonio Tassone

    Sure.
My attempts to logon in a windows domain using the same user/password for LEAP authentication and windows logon were unsuccessful (either using Win9x or Win NT/2000 on the client), indeed the login dialog box was stuck in something like "searching primary domain controller" or similar (I'm sorry but it's been some month ago).
Looking the Radius server log, I found an error like " xxxxx DLL rejected".
Searching the Cisco web site and the forums for that error, I read the advice to make the authentication services on the NT server to run with the privileges of one of the Windows Domain Administrator accounts.
Following that advice, and with some other tweaking explained in the document I read, I reached my goal.
    I regret I can't be more precise.
    Regards.

  • Minimize Document Window

I have a script that runs fine processing multiple documents while leaving a selected document open. At various times I have to activate that document and in Photoshop 7 the document stays minimized, but in CS2 (version 9) it becomes restored.
Is there a way to script a document window to minimize?
    Many thanks,
    Ken

Aha,... but you see Adobe engineering is too crafty to be simply foiled by us clever little foxes.
The shortcuts don't work. Nor will clicking in the window menu for the same commands work.
As soon as you minimize a window in PS on a PC, it utterly and entirely disappears from PS. The document is in memory, but the window is puff gone. PS know's where it was, and will restore it when instructed to by the OS. But PS itself has 0% knowledge of a "window" once you minimize it, nor any means within PS to retrieve it. You have to go outside and access it from the OS.
I get the sneaking suspicion that the committee meeting dealing with this change in operation had something to do with jettisoning window frame management to the OS. On macs it's ok, because after all, what designer designs on something other than a mac amirte?
On PC's it's no bueno. Because, Bill Gates? /shrugs
Can I pay Adobe to just give me an update version of PS 7.5 ? That... would be so awesome. I guess right after I get all the kids off my lawn. lol
    Thanks everyone.

  • User popup window on logon

    Hi All,
I'm new here so I'd like to say "Hi" to All!
I have a question concerning logon popup window for specific user.
Can one of you please tell me where can this be set that a specific user ( e.g. test_user) gets system message with info "bla bla bla" after logon to the system?
    Regards,

    Hello Slawomir,
That is what I was hinting at and looking for :TH_POPUP.
Do one thing from SM37 find out the names of all the reports where this function module is used. Then ask the user to logon into the system and check if any backgrounf job involving one of these programs has run immediately. May be the person causing the nuisance is smart enough and may be using dialog process. So it won't be bad idea of actually go in ST03 (N) and see programs that have run around the time of logon of the user.  Somewhat I feel this all is event triggered or some entry in some table. Are you still sure that no start transaction gas been set.  May be try setting something for the user and then see if this message is still coming. Better else ask the user to logon in front of you on your PC.
    Regards.
    Ruchit.

  • When I minimize a window, it disappears completely as if I exited it altogether, why?

After I installed the new update for firefox and i tried out several different themes, I found that when I minimize a window it disappears completely instead of just going down like normal. I wish it didn't do that, I miss the other feature.
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
== This started after I downloaded the update and tried out different themes.

    This worked for me.
Apparently Firefox sometimes minimizes to a tiny off-screen window. To get it back:
    1. In the taskbar, right-click on Firefox, then left-click "restore"
    2. In the taskbar, right-click on Firefox, then left-click "move"
    3. Use the arrow keys to move the Firefox window until it re-appears.
    4. Once it does, click and drag to enlarge it.
    It should now minimize properly.

  • Deploying Custom Windows 7 Logon page and switch user button

I am trying to use ZCM 11 Group Policy management to do two things. 1). Turn off the Windows 7 switch user feature that exists in the start menu and at the initial logon screen, and 2). Add a policy statement graphic to the initial logon screen in Windows 7.
Feature 1 above is done by changing 'Hide entry points for 'Fast User Switching' in Computer Configuration=>Administrative Templates=>System=>Logon. But in order to get rid of the 'Switch User' button on the initial logon screen you also have to enable 'Interactive logon: Do not display last user name' in Computer Configuration=>Windows Settings=>Security Settings=>Local Policies=>Security Options and we only want this enabled for students. There are only two options for this setting - 'enabled' and 'disabled'.
Feature 2, adding a graphic to the initial logon screen, is turned on by enabling 'Always use custom logon background' in Computer Configuration=>Administrative Templates=>System=>Logon and creating a custom bmp file placed in C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\.
Because the 'Interactive logon: Do not display last user name' setting only has enable/disable options (the default is disable) and because user associated settings overwrite workstation associations Im using two policies, one workstation and one user as inidcated below:
    User GPO :
Enable 'Interactive logon: Do not display last user name' in Computer Configuration=>Windows Settings=>Security Settings=>Local Policies=>Security Options
NOTE: This allows me to differentiate between student and staff users.
    Workstation GPO:
Enable 'Hide entry points for 'Fast User Switching' in Computer Configuration=>Administrative Templates=>System=>Logon
Enable 'Always use custom logon background' in Computer Configuration=>Administrative Templates=>System=>Logon
    Bundle:
Deploys the bmp file to C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\.
Unfortunately, this setup only works as intended when the user is set up with a volatile DLU policy. When the user associated DLU is non-volatile it doesnt display the graphic and it does not remove the switch user button on the main logon screen. If I logon/logoff as a non-volatile user I get the generic Windows 7 logon page with the switch user button visible, when I logon/logoff as a volatile user I get the custom graphic logon page without the switch user button. Whats even stranger is that when I go into gpedit.msc and look at the settings after I log in, theyre correct for each type of user.
Does anyone have any insight on why I might be seeing this problem?
Ive tried to be complete as possible describing the problem but if didnt describe something correctly or someone needs additional info, please let me know.
    Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi Dan,
    are you using Novell CLient?
The Tiles on the Login Screen also depend on the Client configuration. If there is only Novell CLient active Windows cannot display other tiles or switch user.

  • Pressing the Firefox menu button minimizes my window

Whenever I pres the orange Firefox menu button it minimizes my window and I cannot access the menu. SO if I need access to any of those functions I have to press the button, and use them from a minimized window

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

  • SBBOD after logon

Hi Guys. I have a problem with a MacBook Pro, where everything appears to be alright until after you login. As soon as you click or do anything after logging in the SBBOD appears and you cannot stop it. No keyboard commands work, all I can do is to force power off the computer.
I have run the Disk Utility and repaired permissions, verified disk and repaired disk and still the problem persists.
If I login normally nothing loads on the desktop, all I get straight away is the SBBOD. If I start in Safe mode the dock and menus appear, but as soon as I click on anything or issue any command via the keyboard the SBBOD appears again.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem?
I have spent hours/days on this and can't find anything remotely like a solution. Can anyone help?
P.S. I am not a Mac user so do not have any experience with Mac’s, I come from a Windows background.

Thanks for the post. I have read and looked at nearly all of these solutions, the problem I have is that I cannot follow any of these diagnostic steps as I am unable to do anything, i.e., as soon as I either click the mouse, move the mouse, press a key... anything the SBBOD appears and then that is it, I can't do anything accept power off the machine.
I have tried things like pressing Command+space to bring up the search window to type "Activity Monitor", but alas the SBBOD appears straight away and that is that.
So in summary I have no way of working through any of these diagnostic steps.
As this is not my MacBook and the owner does not know what version of the OS he is running, it is hard to know exactly what steps will work. Looking at the version from within the Bash shell I can see that it is 10.10.2 which from what I understand, equates to Yosemite. Remember I can't run/do anything on the MacBook to find out for sure. I also do not have the original disks that came with the MacBook, so I can’t use those to do any diagnostics.
So what I have done so far:
    Run Disk Utility
    Verify Permissions
    Repair Permissions
    Verify Disk
    Repair Disk
Safe BootThis works sometimes, i.e. it will let me in after logon with the dock and menu bar, but as soon as I click on anything or do anything for that matter the SBBOD appears. Other times all I get is the desktop background wallpaper and nothing else. Again as soon as I click the mouse the SBBOD appears.
Then I started in single user mode and run fsck –fy until I got the “…appears to be OK” message, and rebooted.
I have also reset the NVRAM.
    Nothing works.
One thing to note, is that after resetting the NVRAM I get the audible bong at start-up/power-up. However after repairing the permissions this stops working.
I am now looking at creating an external USB startup disk with a copy of Yosemite on it to see if I can at least backup their data, and maybe do some diagnostics from there. The problem I have with this is that I do not have MAC to create this drive so am trying to work out how to create one from a Windows 7 machine. Fun and game :-)
Again any ideas would be helpful.
