Formula flip the sign between child and parent account member

I have created two accounts as below which is parent to the child (670122) and child (670122.01) account and my account dimension looks as below
Account    PARENTH1     GROUP          ACCTYPE     RATETYPE
670122        670120         Profit & Loss            EXP           AVG
670122.01  670122         Profit & Loss            EXP          AVG
PRETAX        INCOME         Profit & Loss            INC          AVG
Now I have added the simple formula in the child account 670122.01 in the formulah1 column as [Account].[PRETAX] Which is Income account but when I retrieve the data  using EVDRE(), the Values are shown as below
670122.01     670122
3,398,006.86      (3,398,006.86)
Why do the parent and child has different sign when both accounts are same account type as Expense. Instead of formula if I put hardcoded value, then both parent and child accounts has the same value (not flipping the sign)

We are using BPC 5.0 and SQL Server 2005
The hierarchy is like this
670120 -> 670122 -> 670122.01
The dimension formula is in 670122.01 as like this ( [Account].[PRETAX]-[Account].[665000] ), 665000 is a expense account and pretax is income account
When I do the EVDRE on those above accounts
670120     670122     670122.01
(13,228,910.18)     (13,228,910.18)     13,228,910.18
When 670122.01 is rolled up to next immediate level, the value in 670122 has negative value. 670122 is rolled up to 670120, but they both have same value - Is this a known issue in the BPC 5.0?

  • What is the diffrence between extends and creating new object?

    HI ALL,
    what is the diffrence between extends and creating new object?
    meaning
    class base{
    class derived extends base{
    class base{
    class derived {
    derived(){
    base var = new base();
    can u people tell me diffence from the above examples.
    THANKS.
    ANANDA

    When you create a new object you have to supply the class to which that
    object belongs. A class can extend from another class. If it does so
    explicitly you can define the 'parent' class from which the class extends.
    If you don't explicitly mention anything, the class will implicitly extend
    from the absolute base class named 'Object'.
    Your example is a bit convoluted: when you create a Derived object,
    its constructor creates another object, i.e. an object from the class from
    which the Derived class extends.
    Extending from a class and creating an object don't have much in common.
    kind regards,
    Jos

  • How to Flip the Sign using Calculation script for historical data

    I am currently using Essbase 9.3.1. Its required to flip sign for a specific set of accounts for that i am currently using UDA's to flip the sign.
    But now i need to flip the sign for the historical data too. Is there any possible way to flip the sign using calculation scripts for historical data. Kindly let me know your suggestions.
    Many thanks in Advance...

    Of course there is. This is the kind of calc script that only gets run once, so make usre you test it well before doing it on production and make a backup of production before doing it.
    It would be something like
    Fix(time frame, accounts to be flipped, level zero other dimensions)
    actual = actual * -1;
    EndFix
    Cal dim dimensions
    Note, I chose actual, but you could do it for any dimension that has a single or only a couple of members. What ever dimension you choose to do the calculation on, it can't be included in the fix statement

    Hello,
    just an additional question:
    What are the recommended parameters to be set in the lightroom preferences for PSE9 for
    - File format (I can choose between psd and TIFF)
    - color space (I can choose between adobe RGB, Pro photo RGB, sRGB)
    - Bit depth (8 bit, 16 bit)
    - resolution
    in order to make sure all modifications from PSE9 are coming back to LR.

  • When I Flip the Sign using script, additional data appears

    I flipped the sign and it became a negative and that is correct. But it is adding some additional data to the flipped member. Both members are expenses. I am putting it in one bucket as a debit and another bucket as a credit, so that they will eliminate each other. Example below:
    /*** Clear any data in accounts 79400 and 79415 ***/
    FIX("Jan":"Dec",&BudYr,"System","Dollars","Budget","Input","7100")
              CLEARDATA "79400";
              CLEARDATA "79415";
    ENDFIX
    /*** This will debit by month 7100 to account "Interco. Alloc. In (79400)" ***/
    FIX("Jan",&BudYr,"System","Dollars","Budget","Input","7100","79400")
    AMC = "000"->"TOT_SGA_EXP" * "ALLOCATION_PCT" ->"AMC"->"BegBalance";
    ENDFIX
    /***This will credit by month 7100 to account "Intra. G/A Admin Alloc. Out (79415)" ***/
    FIX("Jan",&BudYr,"System","Dollars","Budget","Input","7100","79415")
    AMC = ("000"->"TOT_SGA_EXP" * "ALLOCATION_PCT" ->"AMC"->"BegBalance") * -1;
    ENDFIX
    RESULTS:
    Interco. Alloc. In (79400)     Admin (000)     Compliance (7100)     American Managed Care     January     97,578
    Intra. G/A Admin Alloc. Out (79415)     Admin (000)     Compliance (7100)     American Managed Care     January     (146,367)
    DIFFERENCE (48,789)

    Re: use of non cumulative keyfigure
    Re: When do we use Non-Cumulative values?
    Key figures:
    1. Cumulative Vaules
    2. Non – Cumulative Values
    Cumulative Values:
    Cumulative Values are Keyfigures for which Keyfigure Values are must posted in every time unit that reported on (= time period – specific Values).
    Example:
    Revenue
    Non – Cumulative Values:
    Non – Cumulative Values are Keyfigures for which KeyFigures are only evaluated for selected time Periods.
    Cumulative Keyfigures With Exception Aggregation:
    It's a 'normal' KF (with summation, min or max as aggregation behaviour), but you set some exception in this behaviour...for example, you can say that a KF, normally aggregated by 'summation', have to show the max value (or the average, or '0' or something else), that is the 'exception aggregation' when you use it in combination with 0DOC_DATE (or other char), that is the 'exception aggregation char reference'...in this case OLAP processor give to you the possibility to see your KF with different behaviour depending from you use 0DOC_DATE (in our example, MAX) or something else (SUMMATION).
    Non – Cumulative keyfigure with Associated Single Delta:
    If you have a stock KF that is fed from only one (other) movement KF that can assume positive and negative sign.
    KF1 (initial) STOCK (non-***.) = 100
    KF2 flow = -30
    KF2 flow = 70
    KF1 (final) STOCK (non-***.) = 140
    Non-cumulative key figure with associated in and outflow:
    This is the case of 2LIS_03_BF KF stocks fields.
    Here, we have the same situation in point 2, but you will have not only ONE flow KF, but TWO, one dedicated to in and another one dedicated to out !
    You have to use this scenario if you have no KF that have positive and negative sign, but two KFs each one representing positive (in) and negative (out) logical sign!
    KF1 (initial) STOCK (non-***.) = 100
    KF2 (out))flow = 30
    KF3 (in)flow = 70
    KF1 (final) STOCK (non-***.) = 140

  • What is the Difference between Consolidation and Aggregation

    Hi Masters
    What is the difference between Consolidation and Aggregation? i think both are same, what is the exact difference in-terms of HFM and Essbase?
    regards
    Taruni

    The differences lies in the mechanism used to calculate and store the value. Dynamic members such as parent accounts or customs, derived views, parent periods, or <Total> members in the value dimension are performed on the fly in the HFM app server's memory without any discrete action on the user or adminisrator's part. These are aggregations in this context, and are distinct from amounts that are calculated and then stored in the HFM database which are either the result of direct data entry (from data loads or journals) or calculated amounts resulting from HFM's rules. "Consolidation" in your question would be one of the stored, calculated amounts in HFM.

  • 294.What is the difference between TCP and UDP

    What is the difference between TCP and UDP

    The difference between TCP and UDP is that UDP throws datagram packets over the wire not concerned whether it arrives at its destination or not. TCP attempts to facilitate the notion of a connection by requiring an acknowledgement by the recipient and continually resending the packets until it receives the acknowledgement or gets a timeout. In a way TCP can be thought of as a layer over UDP but it's more than that. A good analogy is the beginning of the school day vs the end of the school day. In the beginning children enter school in a line and in an orderly fashion. Each child is accounted for. Each child has a defined classroom destination. Likewise TCP packets are sequenced, accounted for, and have a certain destination. At the end of the day all the kids pour out of the building randomly with no regard of whether their buddies are on detention or not. Any particular kid could be heading straight home or to the mall and no accounting is taken. In the same way UPD packets are dispersed from the sender without regard for order. Any packet to make a pit stop at a particular router on the network and no accounting is done to ensure it makes it all the way to the recipient.

  • Child and Parent Threads

    I have a parent thread class PThread which
    instantiates some child threads CThread in its run()
    method..
    Now Child threads need to give their status/information
    back to Parent thread periodically.
    Can I child thread callback any function of Parent
    thread

    Actually in my case, 1 parent Thread is running and it instantiates multiple child Threads (the number will be decided based on input from some file)....Now these Child Threads are doing some measurements...Each Child Thread is maintaining a bool variable
    "isActive"...If the measurement is not bein taken, it sets the isActive flag to false, otherwise true...(Different Child threads have their own "isActive" Status)...
    Now, there are Some other classes in System who are interested in knowing which Measurements are Active....(that means they want to know the status of Individual Child threads).....These classes are
    interacting with Parent class only....
    That's why I wanted individual Childs to update their current status
    periodically to Parent , so that when Parent is asked this information
    from Other classes, it can Consolidate and present the data....
    This was the only purpose, why I asked whether we can call from
    inside Child Thread, any functon of Parent Thread..
    What I understood from your comments that if Child Thread has access to Parent Thread's Object....(wich should be passed to it during new),
    it can callback Parent's functions.
    That should solve the purpose.....
    Regarding stopping of threads, Parent thread is itself gets information/interrupt from some other class to stop itself... when it
    gets the information, it will stops the Child threads too...I was thinking of calling some stop()
    function of individual child threads which will call their interrupt()..
    And at the end I will call the interrupt() of Parent class....
    I don't know much about usage of join(), so will have to study more
    about how can I do it better.
    Also one thing more:-
    Both Child and Parent Thread classes are extending Thread.
    They don't have to extend from any other class...I have to
    write specific functionality in run() function of parent and class.
    Should I change it to runnable....Why did you advised against
    extending threads

    Hi,
    They are both used for 10Gig interfaces.  The difference is the connector type.
    SFP+ is LC and X2 is SC.
    You can not put an SFP+ into an X2 slot or X2 optic into a SFP+.
