Forward after authentication / login

Hello everyone,
          I'm using weblogic server 8.1 and have implemented form based authentication.
          I'm having different users who themselves belong to different groups. I would like to forward the users based on the group they are in. Is that somehow possible?
          For example USER A is in GROUP A and USER B in GROUP B. If USER A logs in he should see a page GROUP_A.html, instead right after USER B logs in, he should se a page GROUP_B.html.
          Thank you guys very much! Any help is greatly appreciated (I searched for hours already!!).

          The problem here is that using Forms Authentication, the authentication is
          essentially transparent to the application. You make a request for a
          protected resource (ANY protected resource, not necessarily the home page),
          and the Form pops up asking for authentication. By the time you application
          is involved, you aren't even aware whether authentication was involved or
          not (save that it was obviously successful and at some point previously --
          otherwise you wouldn't be in the application at all).
          So, the user could do something where he has a generic Hompage and have it
          simply routinely check for the group membership to determing a Group
          Homepage to redirect to, but the basic issue is that the authentication can
          happen at any point in the application on any page, and doesn't not
          necessarily happen only on the home page, nor is your application aware when
          it takes place.
          Just things to think about.

  • IIS Server 7.5 403 Forbidden Access Denied Error after submitting login Page

    Hi All,
    Need help to resolve below error:
    403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
    You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
    Getting this error once hitting submit button, here i am entering only user name it should give an alert msg asking for the password.
    The application is running on IIS server 7.5 and recently enabled Anonymous Authentication and since then it is giving this error.
    But if i am accessing the application locally it means in server machine it is working but from remote system it gives 403 error.
    Regards,
    Kirti

    Hi,
    it's difficult to say what exactly is causing without more info on you confiuration.
    I'm, from you description, assuming a webpage that was configured for forms authentication. You enabled anonymous authentication and now it no longer works.
    Forms authentication relies on webpage logic. In most cases, you cannot replace it 'like that' by another authentication method as the login page contains logic on how to store the usercredentials and/or authorization and were to go after authentication
    has finished.
    Anonymous authentication relies on the  application pool identitiy (or the anonymous user) having RX access to the content. Depending the configurations you made when enabling anonyous authentication, you might aditionnaly need to assign an identity
    to the anonymous user and configure ntfs privilges on the content.
    Check IIS logs and event logs for information. if you do not succeed to resolve, I would suggets to post on teh iis.net forums and include detailed configuration information.

  • My MacBook Pro Retina's Bluetooth chipset unknown/odd login message on the login screen states Login Window Authentication Login window Name edit text has keyboard focus. In addition, the login screen is not remembering me

    I have been experiencing several issues with my MacBook Pro Retina mid 2012. My MBPR is scheduled to go into the depot. However, I am wondering if anyone may be able to shed light on a few issues as this is the third "official" time my MBPR is going back for service ("one depot" trip; "one authorized" dealer; several in-store visits).
    My Bluetooth is stating that the Bluetooth Chipset is Unknown (0). I also have had Bluetooth Preferences mysteriously change on me. In addition, while Bluetooth is off there are two serial modems turning on. I have turned them off, but they continue to pop up.
    In addition, when I log in, my MBPR is not remembering me and my login name is not appearing on the slate-gray screen. The name and password are blank and the following message appears in the lower left hand corner. "login window authentication login window Name edit text has keyboard focus."  As a side note, I am the only user. The login issue is a recent occurrence as we just totally wiped it again via a Command + R, and I don't believe I have an accessibility setting set to anything that would cause this, but wanted to check.
    Should I be concerned here? Has anyone else had issues like this? I don't want to worry if I don't have to. I have had so many issues over the course of nine months. 5-6 wipes. Airport card replaced and I am about to pull my hair out if my MBPR doesn't come back worldly like clock work this time. I just can't send my days trying to get a $2300 product to work for me any longer. No idea what is wrong with it, but it is driving me insane. Cross your fingers for me and any guidance you have or thoughts would be welcomed. Thank you. EMM

    There are a ton of other warnings. Before I go through this again, can someone tell me if this is normal (all of it -- above too); or if these are symptoms is a keystroke logger or hardware issues?
    I ask because originally, when my computer went in for diagnostics (more than once), Apple stated the hardware was fine (other than Airport Card -- finally). However, if I've done 5-6 total wipes; created new users; do not have sharing set-up; have not played around in Terminal; and am up-to-date with versions -- and various issues KEEP COMING BACK -- I am left wondering if a keystroke logger would be possible here?!? I thought maybe a faulty logic board, but why would diagnostics be okay, then? Not trying to be hyperbole, just desperate.
    Please help me rule keystroke logger out or at least, tell me so I know, so I can take appropriate action. If you think it could be the logic board with symptoms above, that would be a great too.
    All I want to do is use the computer as intended, but I can't seem to get a real answer, so after nine months -- I am turning to the communities to see if anyone -- anyone at all -- can help. The last thing I can do is have the MBPR come back from the depot and the same thing occur. Any guidance or advice would be so gratefully appreciated.

  • J_security_check not redirecting after authentication - in one environment

    Hi all,
    I have a J2EE web application developed in JDeveloper 10.1.3 which uses JAAS security with a custom authentication provider class. I can configure this is both a windows and unix based OC4J. The windows OC4J is stand alone, the unix one is part of a managed instance (OPMN).
    When I deploy to windows, attempts to access a protected resource cause the authentication to fire off perfectly and redirect to the appropriate url after login is successful. Absolutely no problems.
    When I deploy to unix with the same configuration, the authentication fires off perfectly but after authentication the redirect attempts to go to Base URL/j_security_check which results in a 404 not found as j_security_check is a logical name and not a real url.
    I have tried setting the ocfj.formauth.redirect flag in the oc4j startup options and this did not seen to help. I still got the 404 error.
    Can anyone advise me on whether there are any switches or parameters I need to set for the j_security_check redirection to work correctly, or is there something else I need to do in a unix (Solaris) environment to cause the redirections to work?
    thanks for any suggestions
    Ben

    Hi,
    you are always seeing the j_security_check in the URL. It seems that this problem is OC4J rekated and I suggest to post the question on the Application Server or the J2EE forum here on OTN

    Its like this.. after you dispatch the request by the method call [callWeb...], the dispatcher would dispatch the request to that page and after the page is dispatched and response has been sent, the execution continues on this JSP, ie from the line after the call to the [callWeb..] function.. All you need to do to avoid this exception is,
    a) put a return; statement after the call to the function.
    Or
    b) structure your code in such a way that after the call to the [callWeb..] function, the execution would not continue;
    I would prefer the first condition though along with structuring the code in such a way that you need not have that many calls to the function. Instead have a String dest variable, which would change and make a call in the end

  • User redirected to homepage after re-login to new authscheme

    We define a new authentication scheme and assigned to a iView
    displaying sensitive data. The new scheme has higher priority than the
    default one, so users are required to re-login before accessing the
    iView. Problem is after user re-login, he/she is redirected to portal
    homepage, user has to navigate back to where he/she was to see the
    iView. This creates a big usability problem.
    We would like user to be able to see the iView after re-login, is this
    possible?

    Hi Mike, definitely seems to be an IE security-related options setting on his computer. Have you tried adding the site in his trusted sites list? You may also have to uncheck the "require server verification" box. Also, might need to uncheck
    the "enable protected mode." Last thing to try: check the "automatic logon with user and password."

  • NAC-OOB L2- Authentication Login page dosn't appear!

    Hi All,
    We have 2 NAC managers and 2 NAC servers. We have a failover solution. Our deployment is OOB Layer 2 Central Virtual Gateway. We have successfully added NAS into NAM and we did the required configuration in NAM like configuring VLAN mapping (from the untrusted vlan 913 to the trusted vlan 910), adding managed subnet, switch profile, port profile, adding switches (cisco 3560) to NAM, configuring user roles, local users and also user login page.
    Then we have tested it by connecting PC to the controlled port on the switch.
    The configuration of the controlled port was on VLAN 910 and after connecting the PC, it's converted to VLAN 913 then we successfully got an IP from the dhcp which is configured on the switch but the authentication login page didn't appear! and also, when we disconnect the PC from that port, the configuration isn't converted from vlan 913 to vlan 910 so we have to change it manually everytime to do our tests.
    What should we do to let the login page appear and also automatically let NAM change the port configuration after disconnecting the PC?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Conditional branch, after authentication

    We have recently implemented a list of passwords that users are not allowed to use. Basic stuff like 1234, abcd etc.
    I currently use a custom authentication, so i can quite easily stop a user from changing their password to a dissallowed one. But my issue is that i want to force current users to changer their current password if it breaks the new rules.
    I think that i should allow them to authenticate themselves using their current password, and then do a check to see if they should be branched to a specific screen to change their password.
    Basically i want to do a conditional branch after authentication.
    anybody implemented something similar? or anyone have any ideas?

    Create an application process - On Load: Before Header ....
    using a similar PL/SQL block like in my case:
    BEGIN
       IF NOT custom_authentication_pkg.password_valid (:app_user)
       THEN
          HTMLDB_APPLICATION.g_unrecoverable_error := TRUE;
          OWA_UTIL.redirect_url
                               ('f?p=&APP_ID.:102:&APP_SESSION.:PASSWORD_INVALID');
       END IF;
    END;and make this process conditional so it doesn't fire if the current page is in
    101 - login page
    102 - page for changing passwords

  • Spotlight index lost after each login

    Hello people,
    I've got a very confusing thing going on with Spotlight on my mac.
    After each login, Spotlight looses its index and I can't my files.
    I have tried solving this problem with the app IceClean, using "sudo mdutil -i on /", dragging and remvoing something into the privacy tab in Spotlight's preferences and some other tips and tricks I got from this forum, but nothing worked.
    The odd thing is, Spotlight finds the files, but only after some time. My guess it's restores the index or re-indexes everything. Yet that doesn't help since it gets deleted after the next login.
    I am very confused right now. No solution seems to work I thought maybe you guys know some answer to that problem.
    Any tip and help is greatly appreciated.
    Best regards

    My MacBook Pro will turn on and get to the login screen. After I login though it goes to a white screen.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • [SOLVED] Blank screen after SLiM login

    Hello everyone, I'm very new to Arch as of a few days ago and I have been attempting to set it up in just about all the free time I can spare. I think I've spent about 20 hours total trying to get things up and running.
    I am attempting to run Arch with LXDE, openbox, and SLiM. I finally managed to get SLiM up and running where I can login without receiving any errors. However, after I try to login I'm brought to a blank screen. Now.. I'm new to this and have followed all the Knowledge Base Documentation on how to get these three running but I guess apparently I'm missing something somewhere...
    Keep in mind I have to type this manually as I do not have any Internet program installed. Maybe if someone can point out my error or make an additional recommendation, that would be great. I really hope I'm not asking too much, even a link to something that may help I would greatly appreciate.
    I'm pretty sure it's something stupid I'm missing.. again, I've read through the Knowledge Base Documents numerous times and simply cannot find out what I'm doing wrong (I have the ATI Open Source driver installed).
    ~/.xinitrc (I have this setup for ~/ and /home | this is also set as executable)
    #!/bin/sh
    #~/.xinitrc
    #exec ck-laungh-session dbus-launch openbox-session
    login_cmd exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch --sh-syntax --edit-with-session /bin/bash -login ~/.xinitrc %session
    /etc/rc.conf (skipped to the DAEMONS section)
    DAEMONS=(hwclock syslog-ng network netfs crond slim)
    If you need any more information I'd be glad to provide it if anyone is willing to help..
    Thank you.
    EDIT: Fixed typos..
    Just another note. I can see my mouse after I login from SLiM and if I press alt+ctrl with any arrow key I can see the workspaces window pop up.

    Just to be clear slim.conf should contain the following with no reference to lxde.
    login_cmd exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch --sh-syntax --edit-with-session /bin/bash -login ~/.xinitrc %session
    .xinitrc should contain:
    exec startlxde
    And ensure that dbus is in rc.conf.  Place it after netfs.
    I made the changes you suggested, now what happens is when I login to SLiM with my end-user, the screen goes black for a moment, then right back to the login screen.
    EDIT: changed "--exit-with-session" to "--edit-with-session" in /etc/slim.conf
    EDIT 2:
    Is the ~/.xinitrc supposed to be setup like..
    login_cmd exec startlxde ck-launch-session dbus-launch --sh-syntax --edit-with-session /bin/bash -login ~/.xinitrc %session
    or is it simply supposed to be
    exec startlxde
    Hope I'm not asking too much.. I just don't want a broken system..
    EDIT 3: Apparently it's "horrible typo day" for me. I had --exit-with-session before. I just typed it wrong in my post. Changed it back.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Create a user through the API and "Prompt user to change password after next login".

    Using the Adobe Connect Interface, I can create a user and check the checkbox to "Prompt user to change password after next login".
    Can I achieve the same result using the API? The principal-update action doesn't offer such an option and, as far as I can tell, there isn't another action to do so either.
    Thank you.

    You can achieve it as part of your application functionality, but not as a configuration option on WLS.

  • Tiles- Cannot forward after response has been committed Error

    I am trying to use following approach for my tiles implementation but i am getting error like
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot forward after response has been committed.
    I have gone thorugh the other posts regarding the same error but not helping me.
    Any clues greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    "I haven't found a way to directly dispatch to a tiles definition, but you can eliminate the need for multiple "wrapper" JSPs by creating a single "tilesDispatch" JSP that is able to dispatch to different tiles definitions, and establishing a convention for mapping URLs to that JSP, and identifying the tiles definition you want to load.
    For example, you could use the following convention to identify a tiles definition:
    /tiles/defName
    where "defName" is the name of the tiles definition (from tiles.xml) that you want to use. The code for the tilesDispatch.jsp would be as follows:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" language="java" %>
    <%@ taglib prefix="t" uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/tags-tiles" %>
    <%
    String tilePath = request.getRequestURI();
    int slashIndex = tilePath.lastIndexOf('/');
    if (slashIndex >= 0) {
    tilePath = tilePath.substring(slashIndex+1);
    %>
    <t:insert definition="<%=tilePath%>" flush="false"/>
    The scriptlet code takes the request URL (e.g. /tiles/defName), strips off everything up to and including the final slash (e.g. defName), then the tiles "t:insert" tag is used to look up and insert the corresponding tiles definition.
    In order to map all URLs of the form /tiles/* to the tilesDispatch.jsp, you would need to add the following to your web.xml:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>tilesDispatch</servlet-name>
    <jsp-file>tilesDispatch.jsp</jsp-file>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>tilesDispatch</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/tiles/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    Note: You may need to insert a slash before tilesDispatch.jsp in the <jsp-file> element. I am using pre-compiled JSPs, so my configuration is a little different. So if <jsp-file>tilesDispatch.jsp</jsp-file> doesn't work, try <jsp-file>/tilesDispatch.jsp</jsp-file>.
    Once you have this set up, you can refer to tiles definitions using the /tiles/defName convention in your faces-config.xml. For example, if you have two tiles definitions in your tiles.xml file: tile1 and tile2, you could have something like the following in faces-config.xml:
    <navigation-rule>
    <from-view-id>/tiles/tile1</from-view-id>
    <navigation-case>
    <from-outcome>success</from-outcome>
    <to-view-id>/tiles/tile2</to-view-id>
    </navigation-case>
    </navigation-rule>
    Note that when I have used this convention, I also have used the prefix mapping for JSF. That is, when linking to a JSF page, based on a tiles definition, from a non-JSF page, the URL would be as follows:
    /faces/tiles/defName
    In this case, the Faces servlet is initially invoked, which sets up the JSF environment. Then the /faces prefix is stripped off, and the remaining URL (/tiles/defName) is routed to the tilesDispatch.jsp, which strips off the /tiles/ prefix, and inserts the "defName" definition.
    We are currently using this approach in a number of web apps, and it is working very reliably. I hope this helps.

    Hi gimbal2,
    I hope to better explain.
    In my JSF code I have the next:
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"

                                            var="element">
         </h:body>
    </html>
    In the listBeanRequest class, the method getElements() has a line, Integer h = Integer.valueOf("a");, which efforts the java.lang.NumberFormatException
    An in my web.xml I have:
    <filter>
         <filter-name>SecurityFilter</filter-name>
         <filter-class>my.filter.SecurityFilter</filter-class>
    </filter>
    I'm using JSF 1.2 running on Apache Tomcat 6
