"forward" and ".../faces" are really annoying

I am building my first JSF app, and as usual, I am starting with the security aspects. So, I hit my login JSP, who's action will return "success", and following my navigation rules, send me to /portal/index.jsp, except, the browser URL still reads "login.jsp". UGH!!! I assume I can control navigation with a new NavigationHandler, but haven't found any docs or examples on how to write one. Is there a better way to do this, or force a "redirect" instead??? ( Struts did this too, but you could specify "redirect" in the struts-config ) In the future, I wish to control navigation with a more sophistaced workflow like tool, so I assume I will need to hack up the navigation anyway. Clues???
Second, much of my code in previous apps, say with struts, assumed "root context" JSP location's "http://xxx.org/welcome.jsp", and my links created from say, an XSL transform assumed, correctly, that "/welcome.jsp" would work. Of cource, it explodes now, because I have to add "faces" in front of everything, which at that level, binds my assumptions of web app usage to JSF. To generalize, I changed the faces servlet mapping from "/faces/*" to "/ui/*", which works for the first request, but subsequent links in the toolkit always generate "/faces" in front of everything. UGH!!! again. Can this be modified ???

Sorry, can't help. Just would like to commiserate with you. I hit the same problem. This behaviour of the Reference Implementation (RI) is not just annoying in my view, but wrong. I think it is a serious issue and it would be disappointing to see 1.0 spec being released with RI behaving like this.
I am just hoping it is not part of the specification that the navigation should behave like that...

I have just done a custom run on my Ipod touch 2nd Gen of 12k. When I finished the run is appearing in my run history on my iPod touch, however it is not appearing in my itunes 'Nike+' tab, or on the Nike + website. I can't seem to get this run to sync and it is really annoying because I'll be loosing 12k. Can anyone help or has experienced this before? I know there are solutions to add runs to iPod nano's and older iPods using the 'Enable disk' and iPod_control function however from what I'm aware you cannot do this on an iPod touch. Can anyone please help?

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

Hi Experts,
Whenever we execute a report we are getting a warning message as "Hierarchies in DIM and FAC are different for Cost Element", but in report level we are not maintaining hierarchy properties for Cost Element.
We have executed Master Data tests in RSRV also and still the problem.
Is any other to do to get rid of this warning message?

if you choose to do this, drag your songs over there, THEN erase them from your itunes library, becasue itunes wont be able to find the songs. After that, you can do
file > add folder to library > my documents/my music/itunes/itunes music, and it will automatically upload all those songs back onto your library

Icons/ Buttons and words are really small in Adobe Premiere Pro CC

Hey guys, i just downloaded adobe Premiere Pro CC and ive noticed that all of the words, icons and buttons are really small. After a while of editing my eyes will start to get really tired from straining to see the words. Is there any way i can make the butons/icons/words bigger? Thanks

I just updated to 25.0 and I noticed the History drop down menu has been simplified and Back, Forward and Home are now gone. Can these be restored?

I am running on a Mac (Lion) with FF 25.0. I typically hide the toolbar because I like to max out my screen space without having to go into full screen mode. So I typically use a custom keyboard command to navigate forward and back during my browser session, but occasionally the keyboard command fails and the page is unresponsive. In the past all I had to do was go up to the History drop down menu and choose "Back" or "Forward". I would also use the "Home" selection to get back to my homepage. But ever since I updated to 25.0 those selection are now gone from the History menu.
Is there any way to restore them? And are they gone for all users (was this a global change) or are one of my add-ons simply not playing nice and causing this problem? TIA!

On WinXP Back, Forward, and Home was last in the Firefox 3.6 versions and disappeared as of Firefox 4.0 - and hasn't been seen since.
Doesn't the Mac OSX versions of Firefox have Back and Forward in the context menu (right-click), as Windows and Linux versions do?

Colors in Photoshop (and Illustrator) are really off.

the biggest thing i noticed was that my greys were more brown than anything. I've included a sample pic that might show better the things i'm referring to.
so in the color selector dialog, the whole left side (white to black) is all tinted brown, like a sepia. this occurs in both Photoshop CC 64 and Illustrator CC. other applications like Paint.net, regular Paint, and GIMP show the normal white to black gradation with all the normal greys, so i know the monitor is displaying fine. i assume it's a color profile that i have to set or adjust somewhere, but the weird thing is that in Illustrator's color selection dialog, the square preview swatch of the color seems accurate and does NOT match what i see in the actual color "wheel". In Photoshop, the square swatch DOES match the color wheel, and both are incorrect. and weird, uploading the image to the forum here, the colors are equally screwed up (EDIT: once i hit "post" the posted images shows the blue color like it should). i'm going to try hosting this somewhere else and linking to it.
maybe someone could just check out the color 4252e8 and see if it's a periwinkle-type blue or a plumb-y purple.

Your problem is a bad display profile. The other applications aren't color managed and don't use the profile at all, so they're unaffected.
The way to fix that is to use a calibrator to make a new profile, but since you don't have one use sRGB. Set the profile in Control Panel > Color Management > Devices:
Relaunch PS/Ai so that they can pick up the correct profile at startup.

Constant 27.0 beta notifications. More information link goes nowhere and install doesn't happen. Notifications are really annoying!

Computer is unresponsive and fans are really loud.

Last night I walked into my room to hear my G5's fans blaring loud. I tried to move my mouse and the entire screen was frozen. I didn't know what else to do but to hold the power button in to force shut it down. I let it sit for a few minutes and then powered it back up. It made it all the way to my desktop but would not load my icons and the fans started blaring again. So I forced it shutdown again. After powering it back up 2nd time it won't go pass the grey apple screen. The fans are blaring loud again.
What is causing this and how can I correct it. I am able to get online via my Macbook Pro but I really need to get to the bottom of why desktop is acting crazy!!!

CLONE and run Disk Warrior on clone, then test that out.
And in the past and for PowerPC, Applejack.
If it is with cache files, those are of course temp files, and which SD doesn't copy, some of which now 10.6.x is better at clearing during a SAFE BOOT but for which people use to use AppleJack (and Maybe Leopard Cache Cleaner) and since we are talking PMG5 10.4/10.5 PPC.
To check all the files, TechTool Pro 5.x or Drive Genius 3 (never used DG, never needed to).
Have multiple backups.
All of these system and disk repair and maintenance? mostly so you can mount and backup any files you need to, and then proceed to restore from good backups.
Usually, people are lucky and they can continue to work. Disk Warrior used regularly and for preventative maintenance (rebuild but also scan files and folders).
HFS+ is not reporting errors (they can be just weak sector, more retries on read) and even ECC is not perfect either at stopping memory errors.

ICal Snooze Options Are Really Annoying!

Enough said -- i can't believe i couldn't find anything in apple discussions re: this exact problem -- the extremely limited # of choices for snoozing in iCal alarms is very aggravating and i am wondering if there's a way to add options to the default list.

Sometimes i am so impressed with apple and their software and other times, i feel like there was a single person charged with an aspect of the software with absolutely no oversight. The snooze options are insane! The one good thing about Entourage's calendar was that you could enter anything for the snooze. However, in that program, you couldn't even copy an event without resorting to applescript.
Let me know if you ever figure out a solution!

To turn the screen curtain on and off:
