Forwarding messages to syslog from WL

Using either 4.5.1 or 5.1, is it possible to forward messages that WL
produces in weblogic.log to the syslog utility?
We can do this for messages produced within our servlets, but we'd also like
WL to send its critical messages as well.

I do not know another way than to pipe the output at the operating system
level to the system logger. Weblogic would think that it is running to a
file, but that file is actually directed to the utility.
Thanks,
Michael

    When I forward an email, for some reason it now includes all of the headers at the top of the new forwarded message that I'm creating ... making quite a mess.

  • 2010 EWS 2.0 C# Windows 7: "Data is Corrupt" error, but only when forwarding messages from a certain user

    I have an application that is basically a mailing list manager. New messages are sent to an Exchange mailbox, from outside of our organization. Periodically the application runs, scans the mailbox for new messages, and forwards them to the appropriate users.
    For the most part this works fine, but messages that come from a specific outside user cause a "Data is Corrupt" message.
    I have tried re-creating the messages that cause problems, both using Outlook and using a Gmail account. In both instances, the message went through the system with no problems. But this vendor is doing something that is causing me grief.
    I've included some sample code below. What I would really like are tips for debugging these kinds of problems. It seems to me that "Data is Corrupt" is sort of a generic error.
    private void ForwardMessage(EmailMessage msg, List<String> recipients, String replyTo)
         ResponseMessage stepOne;
         EmailMessage stepTwo;
         Folder drafts;
         ConversationId cid;
          * This is a little screwy.
          * EmailMessage.CreateForward() is really useful, because it preserves
          * attachments. But it mangles the message body and subject, so I have reset those.
          * And it doesn't support setting the Reply To, so I have to do this
          * in two steps: create the forward, save to Drafts, then get the
          * message in the Drafts forward, and set the Reply To.
         cid = msg.ConversationId;
         stepOne = msg.CreateForward();
         stepOne.Body = msg.Body;
         stepOne.Subject = msg.Subject;
         foreach (String s in recipients)
              stepOne.BccRecipients.Add(s);
         stepOne.Save(WellKnownFolderName.Drafts);
          * There is a chance, though small, that another process
          * could create a draft message in response to the message
          * I'm in the process of forwarding. But it is unlikely,
          * so I'm going to live with this. Extended Properties would
          * be the safer way to do this, but I couldn't get them
          * to make the trip.
         stepTwo = null;
         drafts = Folder.Bind(msg.Service, WellKnownFolderName.Drafts);
         foreach (EmailMessage em in drafts.FindItems(new ItemView(100)))
              if (em.ConversationId.Equals(cid))
                   stepTwo = em;
         if (stepTwo != null)
              stepTwo.ReplyTo.Add(replyTo);
              // This next line is where the "Data is Corrupt" error keeps happening
              stepTwo.SendAndSaveCopy();

    The place to start with Debugging would be to enable tracing and look at requests and responses your getting from the server to see if there is additional information and to also know which operation is failing see
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dd633676(v=exchg.80).aspx
    You might also want to do some testing with the EWSEditor
    http://ewseditor.codeplex.com/
    There also should be an EWSLog on the CAS server where the requests are being sent so this is worth looking at as well eg \Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Logging\Ews
    As a workaround with the failed messages you might want to trying getting the MimeContent and forwarding that instead of using the Forward operation
    Cheers

  • Can't forward messages from my hotmail account

    Cant forward messages from my hotmail account

    Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

  • Hide "from" addresses when forwarding message

    I get many messages that I want to forward to another recipient, but I want to hide the string of other addressees who sent it or forwarded it to me. I have tried simply deleting some of the info, but there are so many codes and links showing that I'm not sure what to delete.

    I'd try turning it onto its head; select the stuff you definitely DO want to forward, then copy and paste into a new message.
    Or, and this may be counterintuitive, select the part you're interested in and hit Reply To Sender. It will copy just the selected text into a new message, leaving you just the task of removing that one address from the addressing box. I'd be wary of this approach, as it will carry a link back to the previous message. Under some circumstances, this can lead to apparently unrelated messages being added to a thread.
    Unfortunately there's no easy or automatic way for a program such as Thunderbird to know which bits you do and don't want to include in your forwarded message.

    I had Verizon (e-mail) and now have a "g-mail" account. I am unable to forward messages or photos out due to I no longer have a Verizon account and Mozilla-thunderbird? apparently only recognizes my Verizon account and not the g-mail account. How do I fix this?

    You'll need to set-up your Gmail account in Thunderbird. Run the new account wizard, it will pick the correct server settings automatically.

  • Email attachment not included in forwarded message - no error message given

    A coworker of mine was trying to forward a large 25.6MB pdf over the AT&T network.  She downloaded entire message before hitting forward and selected "include attachments" when given the option.  She could see the icon for the attachment at the bottom of the forwarded message, but the recipient doesn't receive the attachment and it is not reflected in the sent email.  There is no warning or error message given.  She could forward this from her desktop account, so it doesn't seem to be a server based limit on attachments..
    This is an exchange server email account and an iphone 5.
    Any ideas?

    I too am experiencing this behavior, however, for some reason that I do not know, the attachments appear ok one day and then they appear embedded. This is becoming detrimental to my work!

  • Forwarding Exchange calendar invites from calendar app not working

    We have Samsung Windows 8 phones and have discovered a problem with forwarding calendar invitations from within the calendar app on Exchange 2010 / ActiveSync.
    User A on Exchange 2010 will create a new meeting request and send it to user B. User B will accept the calendar invitation on their Windows 8 phone. User B will then go into the calendar app on their phone and forwards the calendar item to User C. User
    C does not receive anything nor does User A receive a notification that their original meeting invite has been forwarded. No error messages are shown on User B's phone. It's as if the forwarded item simply vanishes.
    With the same scenario as above, if User B does NOT initially accept the meeting invite from User A and instead immediately forwards the invite to User C from within the MAIL app on his phone, before accepting the meeting, User C receives the invitation
    as per normal and User A receives notification that their meeting request was forwarded, as expected.
    If User B does NOT initially accept the meeting invite from User A, but then goes into the calendar app on their phone and attempts to forward the meeting request (showing as tentative as they have not accepted it yet), User C still does not receive anything
    and User A does not get notification.
    This appears to be a bug within the Calendar application on Windows 8 phones as forwarding meeting invites works fine from within the Mail app (provided the user has not accepted the meeting yet - once the meeting has been accepted in the mail app, the item
    "disappears" and is no longer accessible except from within the Calendar app).
    This is a pretty major issue with heavy calendar users (e.g. executives) as they will be forwarding accepted meeting requests from their calendars and without receiving any error messages will assume the forwarded invitation has gone through, when in fact
    it hasn't.

    We have reproduced this issue internally and are filing a bug to get this issue fixed.  As soon as we have an update to this, we will report back on this thread.  Thank you for raising this issue.

  • Forwarded message shown as inline text

    Hi everyone,
    I have searched for a solution to this for a while, but forgive me if I missed something.
    I am currently trying to forward received messages from GroupWise to Mobile Me as an attachment which is working correctly. But the issue I am having is that the iPhone appends the attached message and loses the original senders address.
    So what I'm left with is the message being from myself to myself and replying to a message only ends up in a loop.
    Is there any app or procedure to fix this? I have replaced my Palm with an iPhone, and this is the only issue I have. Palm did it fine, showed the forwarded message as an attachment.
    Any help will be highly appreciated,
    Jim

    Do you mean they get sent as headers, or are they part of the message body when they arrive? It will append whatever headers are currently displayed.
    Also, it's not a good idea to post your email on a public bulletin board like this unless you enjoy getting a lot of spam.

  • Improper rendering of forwarded message in Outlook Express

    I am not able to view forwarded mail (not properly rendered) in Outlook
    Express although in Microsoft Outlook, it views fine. The forwarded
    message is not shown as an email message but instead as a file
    attachment which can be saved to file. Any pointers to why Outlook
    Express renders it like that?
    I have copied below the code and the message.
    The following code is being used to create the forwarded message:
    String subject = oldMsg.getSubject(); //oldMsg is the MimeMessage to be forwarded.
    MimeMultipart mp = new MimeMultipart();
    MimeBodyPart bp = new MimeBodyPart();
    bp.setContent( "", "text/plain" );
    mp.addBodyPart( bp );
    MimeMessage msg = new MimeMessage( mailSession );
    msg.setFrom( from );
    MimeBodyPart bp = new MimeBodyPart();
    bp.setContent( oldMsg, "message/rfc822" );
    bp.setFileName( "forward.cpm" );
    mp.addBodyPart( bp );
    msg.setContent( mp ); // add Multipart
    msg.saveChanges(); // generate appropriate headers
    The message is getting created as follows:

    Guru,
    I am trying to run sample javamail program msgshow.java
    with these parameters
    -T imap -H <host> -U <user> -P <pwd>
    and I get an exception
    javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: There is no such mailbox on this server
         boolean com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore.protocolConnect(java.lang.String, int, java.lang.String, java.lang.String)
         void javax.mail.Service.connect(java.lang.String, int, java.lang.String, java.lang.String)
         void msgshow.main(java.lang.String[])
    My question is
    1. Where can I find host name for reading email from Microsoft Exchange server?
    2. Could you give me an example of such a server?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
