Frame in presentation for white business card

Hi,
I'm updating my companies business cards which have a white background. Is there a way to get a thin black line at the artboards edges that I could use when the design is put on a word document for presentation?
It's just to see the outer edge in presentation, not in printed version.
I guess i could draw a rectangle and have a black border, but is there another way to get the exact edges?
Thanks for any ideas!
/ Arty_Party

Arty Party,
Someone that knows anything about Worst may tell you whether it is possible to add a border in the receiving document.
Otherwise, it is probably best to create a special presentation version (which should also be suited for Worst in terms of colour (mode)). In that connexion, you could apply an outer glow or a drop shadow or something to lift it off the background.

In the Apps "Pages" is there a tutorial for the Business Card Templet?

Peter I see you are humble, as my self. I don't see a way to easily fill all the individual cards on the templet. Pages '09 version 4.1 (923)
I first started using Business Card Templets with Microsoft Publisher back in 2000. Initially I filled out a business card and was given a choice to print 8 or 10 cards to a page. Since then I have been out of the loop due to illness, Pages '09 give me the choice to print 8 and 10 cards to a page but I'm missing the initial step.   laughing about it but confused too

  • Additional Fields for ESS-Business Card Not Working for Certain Countries

    Dear Experts,
We were trying to configure the additional fields to be displayed in Business Card - Overview Screen for all countries. We don't have problem configure and get the new fields display for Malaysia (Molga = 14) but having problem for the field to display for Hong Kong (Molga = 27) and Singapore (Molga - 25).
The strange thing is I am following the same steps as I configured for Malaysia. Somehow it is not working for Hong Kong and Singapore. As I understand, there is only 1 place to configure in SPRO for this requirement:
Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service -> Service-Specific Settings -> Own Data -> Customizing of Personal Information Screens -> Determine Fields for Business Card on Overview Screen

  • What type of paper setting should I adjust my printer to for printing business cards?

HP PSC 2210 all in one
Win XP Pro Media 3rd ed.
    No error message
no changes made to the system
I am trying to print out some business cards using Avery 5876 2-sided printable business cards.
When I print a test sheet out of my biz cards on regular 20# paper stock and adjust the settings just so, everything goes well and a trial run using the regular 20 # stock everything comes out great!  But when I put in the Avery card stock and hit go, the printer goes a lot slower while making the script and images very dark with excess toner on the card stock only.  But not on the paper stock. Why is this?
Should I should change the paper settings on the printer from automatic to what setting for business card stock?  If so, to what setting? -- Special papers, greeting cards, brochure papers or what???  PLEASE ADVISE.
    THANKS,
    Scott
    This question was solved.

Is the stock designed for inkjet printers?  The cardstock is likley being misread as photo paper by the automatic sensor.  I would suggest trying with brochure paper, other inkjet paper or card stock in that order.

  • How do you convert to cmyk in aperture 3 for printing business cards?

I'm wanting to make my own business cards and post cards online.  The printing companies want cmyk files.  How do I convert my photo files and pages files to cmyk?  I do not use Photoshop, only Aperture 3.5.1.
Please keep it simple.  I'm an old dinosaur and could be your next tank of gas!
    Thanks

You will need some External Photo editor, and you can get to to invoke from with Aperture.  For the price and function, I can recommend GraphicConverter.  Check it out in the Mac App Store for $39.95.
Aperture will create a new master to send to GC, and in GC you click on Picture/Mode and choose CMYK.  Then simply click Save, and it will now be saved in the Aperture Library as CMYK.
Aperture can archive the CMYK, but not convert it.

  • What Apple software compares to Publisher for making business cards, etc?

I have found that Pages and NeoOffice are not as intuitive nor are they as user friendly as Publisher. I have weaned myself off Word and PowerPoint and I would like to do the same with Publisher. Also, mail merge doesn't seem as easy using NeoOffice. I would like to think that there is some third party solution for this. Is there?

Have you looked at this software?
    http://belightsoft.com/products/composer/overview.php
They also have a program called Swift Publisher
    http://belightsoft.com/products/swiftpublisher/overview.php
Is it because Pages/Keynote doesn't come with artwork already or don't have layouts, or something else specific that you're looking for?

  • Control to layout a design for instance a business card

From my cold fusion app I want to have a control (any adobe control) to lay out a design for a business card . Is there any control that I can out of the box? I would prefer to use a Flash control.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear,
If you have ABAP team with you, an email to user SAP inbox will trigger from each transaction.
We implemented this for PR level for each 1200 individual user / management release authorities, which informs by an email about the status of PR. once the final release done based on purchase group - an email will trigger to central procurement department all responsible persons indicating purchase order awaiting.
NOW material rejection - reference to 122 and 102 movement is under study. Once any material rejected the system send email to procurement, stores personnel and management informing the material was rejected.
Similar, based on the presentations and indepth meeting held with ABAP and FUNCTIONAL teams, workflow can be trigger on each event (not sure the all processes you mentioned in your post). But I hope possibility exists.
THE ONLY POINT YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND AND INFORM MANAGEMENT - SYSTEM PERFORMANCE WILL AFFECT A LOT. SYSTEM WILL SLOW DOWN AS MANY WORKFLOWS EXISTS. CONSULT BASIS TEAM ALSO.

  • How to make a business card? -Adobe Illustrator CC

    Hello,
I'm really stressed after searching the web for a tutorial on how to create a business card in Adobe Illustrator CC. I already have the graphics done, but I just need to know the dimensions and what unit it is. I'm using a homemade kit for these business cards. They're Avery, and I've used the template provided by them but every time I use it, print it out the business card is too low, or high or even cut off right when I have them exactly in the template. The product number is 8373. ASAP assistance would be nice as I'd like to get this done.

Make sure you align your page using the Page tool ( the one that looks like a hand in the lower section of the tool palette).  Also, set a holding line for the document dimensions ( I use an 8.5"w x 11"h Rectangle with a no fill, no stroke applied to it > then I lock it ).  This will hopefully align the document through the printer.

  • Designing a Double-Sided business card in InDesign

    Hi All
I would like to design a double-sided business card using InDesign and I have just downloaded the app. I went to create a new document but there is no option for "US business card" size as it states in the tutorial. Is this because I am using the UK Cloud? If so, how do I get around this?
Please advise how I go about designing my card.
    Many thanks
    Sabrina

But this is what I mean.... the option isn't there.
This is what I can see:

  • Color issues with Business Cards and Vista Print (Ps & Ai)

So I use Vista Print for my business cards, quick, easy and affordable.
I had some graphics that could not be reproduced in Ai very easily so I downloaded the Vista Print .PSD template and worked off of that.
When the cards came in color was correct but the font was not good. Not very clear and there was digital noise around the edges, so not crisp.
So I downloaded the Ai template from VP, reproduced the card in Ai and just dropped the logo in on the canvas and redid all the text in Ai.
When I got these cards in, the font looked much better and crisp, but all my colors were off. My navy blues were not navy-purplish looking. Side by side, it was a big difference.
I didn't change any color profiles I even made sure the CMYK values from the original photoshop file matched exactly to the Ai file.
So question is, why would the Ai file print differently if the CMYK color values were the exact same? It makes no sense to me. Was it perhaps how I saved the Ai files? There are so many options when saving it's a bit overwhelming.

Believe it or not, the Vista Print cards could be color copies.  Try and post a screen shot of each card so we can see the differences.  Not sure how you proofed the card redo out of Illustrator and/or what you used to print the redo card.  The problem with Vista Print is quality control.  You say the card color is accurate in the VP cards.  However, did you proof the card before sending it to VP?  If you did, how?

  • How to edit a business card info

I need to know how to do so

    Hi,
The Photoshop Elements trial is not crippled. You have the full function of Photoshop Elements thru your trial period.  If you did not get a layered business card template and the place you used to create your card went bankrupt, you might try looking around the net for free business card templates. You can do this from scratch but it's easier with a template as it's already sized and it has a basic layout.
Templates come layered so all you need to do is double click on the T of the text layer you want to change in the layers palette and type in the desired text.
Edit: Mark was much faster at typing how to make a print screen. I'll leave all of the below anyway.
How to make a screen shot of your workspace if on Windows...
    1. With your card open in the workspace and the layers panel open as I think Mark wants to see if you have a layered business card, press the print screen button on your keyboard. On my keyboard, it's located above the numeric keyboard.
    2. After you press the print screen key, go to the menu and select File<New...from clipboard. A large blank document will open.
    3. Press Ctrl + V keys at the same time to paste. Alternately, you can do this from the menu bar...Edit<Paste. This will paste the snapshot you took of your workspace into the open document.
    4. (Optional step) You can use the crop tool to cut away unnecessary parts of your screenshot if desired.
    5. Next, save the document. To make the document more forum friendly...smaller in file size, I'd use file<Save for Web but if you just want to File<Save As...it's okay. Save in JPG format so you can upload to the forum.
For the camera icon, Mark means the camera icon in the post box that appears when you post or reply to a post when using the web forum. Mark posted a screen grab with the icon but I'll add one with a red arrow pointing to the icon you click to add an image to a post.
I always save any image I want to upload to this forum or any forum to my desktop as it makes it easier to find. A dialog will come up that says choose. Press it and navigate to your JPG image. It will list the location where you have the file stored on your computer. Press the upload button to add the image to the post.
Edit: I'm not sure why Mark has a "Browse" on his button and I have "Choose".  Same difference...just select whichever option your button displays.

  • How to make business cards?

Hello all! I am new to mac and am loving it... I'll NEVER go back to a pc. Can anyone help me set up a template for making business cards? I would like to be able to make a "sheet" of business cards, but I noticed that there isn't a template already made. Is there a way to preset the size 3.5 x 2.0 so that I can have like 12 to a page? Any info. would be very appreciated!
    Thank you!
    Sommer

    Thank you Dennis,
I unfortunately have pages 07 and I need to get an updated version before I can open your download. I am however, very happy to learn about the iwork community! Thank you! If you know of another way to open the file without the upgrade that would be great!
    Thanks again!

  • Aligning business cards

I have the Avery 28877 portrait template downloaded from Avery and printing on an HP all-in-one printer. I had one document inserted with JPG images for the business card and it aligned just fine. Now I created a new one and by the third row, they are way off! Can someone offer some tips on what settings I can use to tweak the file/table setup?

First check your page margins to be sure they correspond to the template margins.

  • Which program for basic business presentations?

Forgive me but I need to ask for advice on what program to use for video editing for basic business presentations. I think Premiere Pro is way beyond my needs, mainly in terms of learning curve (as well as the cost).
For what it's worth, I'm an avid Adobe user, and have been for years, for other programs: I currently use InDesign, Photoshop Elements, Dreamweaver, Audition, and Acrobat Standard (and also subscribe to the Acrobat Connect service). So, I don't feel too bad asking this forum to recommend "different" software for video editing. (Maybe Premiere Elements is best for me, but maybe not.)
I do not have any experience in video editing, and I do not have any time for a significant learning curve. I also don't need to do anything fancy.
I bought a MiniDV camcorder (Panasonic PV-GS300). I'm using a PC (3.6G, 1G RAM, half the 160G HD available, though I'll have to add a Firewire PCI card shortly) and Windows XP Pro. I'll get tripod lights and a good headworn mic. I use Nero Burning ROM 6 to burn DVDs (I've used its simple wizard to convert files and burn DVDs).
My purpose is to create about a dozen or so 6- to 12-minute clips consisting mainly just of me standing and giving a verbal speech and with some still images created from the computer (PDF, GIF, or whatever) stuck in between the video (I'll probably want some of the speech from the video taping, or else some speech I create in Audition, to play through the showing of the still images).
I'm not concerned with fancy video effects! I don't need it and I can't justify the learning curve (or cost) for it! Fades in and out are probably as advanced as I will get, though I really don't even need that.
I'll want to create the videos in file formats for Windows and for Mac, and to put them on our web site for streaming video as well as burn DVDs.
I'm sure I'll want to be able to adjust the image sizes and file sizes by choosing the tradeoff level with quality, though I hope there will be a set of standard defaults. I also really need good user forum support (I have no idea if Premiere Elements is enough for me but I sure have come to rely on the users on the Adobe forums).
I need to ask whether I should get Premiere Elements or... yes, I know it's blasphemy but I swear I'm a loyal member of the clan in all other ways... whether there is another video editing program that's light-weight enough to be pretty quick in getting through the learning curve for the basics I want, and that's relatively inexpensive. (I've been told on one forum... blasphemy again, I know... that I should look into Vegas 7, but the price and sophistication seem way beyond my needs based on an initial glance on the web -- but maybe I should just spring for it and go. It also seems Vegas 7 is more practical for my needs than Premiere Pro -- but I'm really hoping I'll be pointed at much lower-end programs.)
I really appreciate any advice I can get. I run a small business with big growth ahead (I have a tiger by the tail) and need to jump on this and to do it myself for now, and I just do not have a lot of time for learning.
    Thanks so much!
    Jay

    OK, fair questions.
In my opinion, the learning curve for the most commonly used 95% of the programs is exactly the same between Premiere Pro and Premiere Elements. It really is. Capture video, figure out what you want on the timeline, put it on the timeline, add transitions, add music, export to something a DVD program can use, all of that. It is darn near identical.
However... then you decide you want to do something interesting. You come online and we tell you that is it very simple. Just use Premiere Pro to do... oh, wait, you don't have Pro? Just Elements? Too bad.
OK. Then you say "How do they make those great motion titles?". We say "It's easy, just use one of the text animation presets in After Effects". What? No After Effects? Too bad.
So let's say you like using After Effects for titles and you decide you want to expand your knowledge. Simple. Get some projects from Dean Velez and modify them to suit you. Do you need to learn it all at one time? No. Just what you need when you need it.
This is one reason that if you buy the Production Premium, one of the choices for extra goodies is a one month subscription to Lynda.com to watch their tutorials.
Spend the time watching the tutorials. If something catches you eye, write down where you saw it so you can go back and really learn it.
Just because you own a hammer and a saw and other hand tools doesn't mean you need to learn to be a carpenter. It just means that when your wife asks you to do something, you will have the required tools so you can go on the web and learn how to do that task, without having to run to Home Depot - which may be closed at the time you need it.
I originally bought Premiere 6.0 and when I went to an Adobe demo at DVExpo in NYC back in 2002 I saw an After Effects demo. I called from the Adobe booth to order After Effects. Why? When I saw that the learning curve was only hard if you tried to tackle the whole thing, and I realized I could just use the part I needed, my whole opinion changed.
If you only used After Effects for text in motion and for Stills in motion (Ken Burns and much more), you would get your money out of it. And that stuff can be learned in 15 minutes. Add in the real need for you, the chroma key, and the time savings is HUGE. You really need to know less to use Keylight than you do to use Premiere Pro to attempt the same thing.
Having the full version of Photoshop is nothing more than you have now. Until you need more. Then you have it.
The ability to use all of the Adobe products together outweighs any Vegas or Avid (consumer) advantages.
Besides, we are much more helpful on this forum than those other guys! ;)
