Frame jump problem

Hello,
I'm not new to Flash MX and I wouldn't have asked but this is
taking
me a ridicolous amount of time to debug and I bet it's
something
simple. I'm not sure what's happening here and why it doesn't
work:
It won't just jump to any of those frames! I'm reading the
variable
from a php file, however, for testing purposes I defined it
internally. I also trace it and it's good. But it won't just
go and
play that frame. Each of those frame has a stop(); and a
movieclip (a
simple image).
Any ideas? o.O
(Using Flash MX 2004 with Actionscript 2.0)
Thanks!!

Thanks for your help. Did the changes, still not working.
It's stuck at the first frame like it wouldn't recognize the
variables. Tracing the variable and *this returns me:

    HI All
I want to play video on my computer to make some analysis to it's frames, the problem that I face ,I can't change video frame rate using labview, but I can change frame rate to the video out of labview using some program .
I used IMAQ AVI Read Frame VI
for example I have avi video It's frame rate is 25 fbs ,my image processing code is very fast that can process more 25 fbs,so I want to accelerate video acquisition

    Hi abdelhady,
I looked into this further, and reading an AVI file into LabVIEW faster than its frames per second won't be possible. LabVIEW could read in frames faster than 25fps, but because it will be pulling the available frame at that point in time this would just give you duplicate frames. If you want to be able to read in frames at faster than 25fps, you would need to speed up your AVI file before reading into LabVIEW.
There's a good shipping example to show how to read in from an AVI file, "Read AVI File.vi". You'll notice that they add timing to make sure that the while loop runs at the right speed to match up with the frames per second of the file being read. This is to make sure you're not reading duplicate frames.

  • Sync and frame rate problems importing video to Flash CS3

Just like the subject states, I am indeed having frame rate problems importing video to Flash CS3.
When I export a video from Premiere with the settings:
    1280x720
    frame rate of 23.976
using H264 or Animation (basically every codec produces the same results),
"embed video on SWF and play in timeline"
When I do this the file exports fine. Playing it in Quicktime works fine and the audio syncs up no problem. But when I import it into Flash using the same settings, for some reason the movie clip is now too fast in that the video does not match the audio and seems to be at more like 12 fps now (just a guestimate). The action of the video is over long before the audio even comes in.I have verified that the frame rate is correct in Flash so it's not that.
I've done this literally hundreds of times in the past and suddenly it does not work and I can not figure out why. I'm not even really using video, but actually artwork that I am putting together as an animatic for an animated piece so the video could not have been imported incorrectly or digitized wrong either. Can someone out there please tell me how to make this work? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
    -Mike

Thanks for you quick response however it really doesn't apply to what I am doing in any way. I will not be uploading the video to a server. I am using the imbed function so I can use it as a layer and then animate over it. It is just reference and will ultimately be deleted. The Fla file does indeed carry the same specs as I stated in my first post. I have done it this way dozens of times and I am trying to figure out why it suddenly will not work.

  • Ghosting effect - Is it a frame rate problem?

I've just made a music video lyric video (I'm still really new to movie editing) and there's this ghosting effect. Does anyone know what may cause it? Is it a frame rate problem, or the frame blend thing?
Here's the cliup on YouTube: (You can really see the ghosting when you watch it in HD.)
I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on Windows 7 (32 bit)

hmm, looks like you need to read a few things maybe...to understand some stuff.
Here's some links I got from google for you
    NTSC
Short for National Television System Committee. The NTSC is responsible for setting television and video standards in the United States (in Europe and the rest of the world, the dominant television standards are PAL and SECAM). The NTSC standard for television defines a composite video signal with a refresh rate of 60 half-frames (interlaced) per second. Each frame contains 525 lines and can contain 16 million different colors.
The NTSC standard is incompatible with most computer video standards, which generally use RGB video signals

    ================
Soooo, you didnt export ntsc and it looks like you upscaled to 1080p but a different fps than original also.
In gereral if you start at say 24fps and make it 30fps, your editor has to "make" new frames ( add 6 per second ) and it does that by creating new frames out of what you have on timeline. Sometimes a VBR 2 pass will give you better results than 1 pass, but you have to experiment a bit ( just export small section of timeline for tests...and try to use area where you see your "ghosting" ).
    good luck

  • Analyzing then rendering...frames jumping all over the place

After sending clip from FCP to Shake, I set interlacing to <even> and then <analyzed>. Upon rendering, I found the frames jumping all over the place. And not a complete image filling in the viewer.
I watched Capt. Menches' tutorial and couldn't get things to gel.
He also mentioned nothing about <deinterlacing> I am using straight QT file, not HD.
I have just two clips I want to smoothcam effect.
    Thanks

    Thanks.
It was a DV file in FCP then I exported as a Quicktime Self contained movie.
It is now called FCP Movie file with DV/DVCPRO-NTSC
When I open it with Compressor it shows this info as well: NTSC CCIR 601/DV
Also I am under the impression that the de-interlacing should be set to even, Yes?
The clip really isn't so shaky to begin with.
When I play it back in the flipbook. Some frames are on one side of the window then to the other side with some of the frames clipped.
Should I use compressor to make a different codec. I have never used that part of FCP.

  • Chapter Jump problems

When my dvd production is ready and when I watch it in the simulator, there is no fluent jump from one chapter to another chapter. And the same goes from track to track.
The first frame of the new chapter is freezing for about a second.
When I burn the dvd the same problem occurs. When I play the video in the viewer everything is alright. Does anyone know what causes this problem?

Make sure your chapter end jumps are left as 'not set'. It sounds like you've set them to jump to the next chapter which you do not need to do. If you have, a cell command is being read, which is not seamless and causing the pause,

  • Weird Poster Frame Jump on Final Disc

    Hello,
I've just burned a disc on which I had placed poster frames. When I go to the scene selection, the chapter thumbnails look good because they are the poster frames that I selected. The problem is this: When I select a chapter, it does indeed go to the chapter mark, however after about a second it jumps and starts to play from where the poster frame was set!
I'm not sure what's wrong, or how to fix this.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Weird frame jump where text begins and ends

So in some parts of my video, there is text superimposed on top of my video. But whenever it is played back, the video in the background sorta jumps a frame before the text ad after the text. Its incredibly noticeable. and it looks very unprofessional. I exported the movie as a quicktime movie and in the exported movie, theres no problem. but i need it in a small file (ipod video namely) and when exported that way, the jump shows up just as it does during playback in fcp.
i have already tossed all my render files and tried rerendering. to no avail. please help!!
    thanks.

  • Strange Frame Jumping in Timeline

I am currently using a new iMac with Final Cut Pro HD to edit a couple interviews for a project. At some point in editing (cutting some extranious material and such) the interviews, random clips will develop jump frames at some point in the clip. The audio is unaffected, but the video pops in with a random frame from somewhere else in the clip. When I play the same section of video in the Viewer the frame popping does not occur. I have had this problem with two of my previous interview edits, and some how this problem solved its self. I don't know what exactly is causeing this or how specifically it could be solve, and would appreciate any help I could get.
    Thanks

  • Frame skip/choppy frame rate problems

    Hi all,
I have been benchmarking different sprite rendering methods on iPhone, and seem to have a consistently choppy framerate when publishing using CPU.  If I use GPU the frame rate is not choppy, but the overall performance is much slower.
    I have a detailed analysis here: http://www.pixelthismobile.com/blog/1/10/2010/flash-iphone-wildly-fluctuating-framerate-or -frame-skip
All I am doing is drawing a number of sprites to a static bitmap on the stage (using copyPixels), clearing the bitmap before each frame.
Basically the framerate jumps rapidly between two values (a low and a high - for example 15 fps and 52 fps) at a very consistent rate of about 3 cycles per second.  I am at a loss...
Would be great if anybody had any insights.
    Regards,
    Peter
p.s. This uses PFI v1, have yet to try with v2.

I'm starting to get to the bottom of this! Seems the choppy performance is being caused by my benchmarking routine, which pushes a single Number value on to an array every frame.   I assumed this was due to memory allocation so I tried a fixed size array and simply setting a value each frame. Still choppy.  So I got rid of the benchmark code altogether. All that is left is this code: frameCount++; And the choppy frame problem is STILL there! Without the ++ it is fine o.O - how absolutely bizarre. Who would have thought a post increment would cause a choppy frame rate!?  Still doing more testing so stay tuned...
Nope - it is frame skip

  • Random Single Frame Jump On Burned DVD From Encore??

Problem with a single frame, split second jump on some DVDs output from Encore.  The jump is a single frame from a previous part of the timeline.  It is hardly noticeable, but annoying.  Plus, it doesn't happen with every disc because I retranscoded the same footage using both automatic and manually chosen presets.  Sometimes I get a perfectly fine disc.  It seems like this problem is random, hit or miss with the transcoding.  Has anyone had this?  Suggestions?  Thanks.

  • Live! Cam Video IM Pro VF0410 Frame Rate Problem

Hello I'm from Turkey sorry for my English first. I bought this camera yesterday and i tried it on 2 PC.First one is using Win Vista Home Premium (4Gb RAM + Core 2 Duo E6750),second one is Win XP Home (Gb Ram + Pentium M .8). In these PC's i can't get more than 4 or 5 FPS. I only saw 8 FPS for one second. I downloaded the?latest drivers from the site which is v.0.0 (2.68 Mb).Nothing changed it is 4 FPS again. What can i do what is this problem. Is my camera faulty ?

I too have the same problem. It seems to be a flaw with the software or the hardware. If you disable the auto exposure setting the frame rate will still site at 4-5 fps.
If you then move the exposure slider to the far left and then back to the right the frame rate will immediatley increase to 20-30 fps, but the exposure is quite poor even with the adjustment of brightness, contrast, etc. Is this a software bug or a hardware flaw?

he is a very clever students ,so all the targets and end jumps is something he is used to do himself
after he made a build & format the end jump commands suddently didn´t work on the remote in apples dvd-player. i have checked and doublechecked and cannot find the problem

  • Photon Focus MV-D1024E-160-CL-12 Camera frame rate problem.

    Hi,
I have a photon Focus MV-D1024E-160-CL-12 camera connected with a PCI2-1429 board. I trigger my camera externally using a NI-DAQ and an I/O board to the camera. I am having a problem with the frame rate of my camera. In the manual it says that the camera can operate at 150 fps. When I am triggering at 10Hz the camera works fine. But when I trigger it at 100 Hz the camera does not give me the required fps. I am imaging an analog clock to measure the fps. When I am triggering at 100 Hz I should get just 1sec in images but instead I am getting images of 3sec. I am using the NI-IMAQ sequence example for it. Is it a software problem (e.g. buffer allocation etc) or a hardware limitation.
    Regards,
    Farhan Ahmad.

    Hello Farhan,
You can use the Calculate FPS VI here to display the number of frames/second for your camera.

  • New Quick Time frame size problem when viewing

Just upgraded to FCPv7 and am having weird issues with playing back video in the new QT player.
I have exported several different formats of the same 30s video(ProRes422, H264 etc) . When played back, the window /frame size of the QT window is way out. The file info shows the correct info, as a 320 x 180 frame size, but QT keeps displaying it as larger than this, with poor quality (like it has been enlarged). If i export exactly the same file as a 480 x 270, it plays perfectly. I know it must be wrong as the dimensions of the QT windows are the same for both!
I have further checked this by playing both videos in my macbook (prev version of QT), and both play at the correct size.
How can I get the new version of QT to play the 320 x 180 at "actual size"? as the option is greyed out if I click properties?
    Thanks
