Frequent Network Lost Notification after upgrade to 3.1.3

I bought my iPhone in Saudi Arabia, there isn't an Apple Store here, not really too much technical support at the service provider I bought the phone from. I updated my phone yesterday to 3.1.3 and since then, I can't go through one hour without a network lost notification. I've had signal issues earlier as well, but they weren't nearly as bad. When I'm connected to WiFi at home through my phone, there are no network issues, for hours together, as soon as I disconnect, the notification is there again. Most people complain that they can't get through to my phone when they try calling. I have been using the phone in the same places as I was before the update.
HELP!

I have this same problem and I am in America... I have random disconnects' and in my case it is WiFi disconnects. I never had them before 3.1.3.
Any possible solutions for this??

  • 'network lost' notification

does anyone know how to switch off the 'Network lost' notification on the iPhone? It drives me mad as it pops up whenever the network is lost for a nanosecond........ stopping any game or video I'm watching at the time. Particularly irritating on the train journey into work in the morning as my video stops at every bridge.
    thanks
    ellie

I get the same thing. Very annoying. On a particular journey I do this pops up frequently even if I'm in the middle of something.
How can I prevent this message? I know I travel through some patchy signal areas. I don't want reminding every two mins...!

  • Lost 2GB after upgrading to mavericks

Seems that I need to ask Apple to credit part of my new MacBook AIR purchase !  I lost 2GB after upgrading to Mavericks.  Used to be at over 6GB of RAM after booting before running my apps, now I come to the same point at 4GB !!  Anyone else have the same issue.  I changed nothing else !

normal, RAM USE CHANGED in Mavericks to make it better
Mavericks is designed to use RAM differently for good reason. Normal
    http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/06/12/compressed-memory-in-os-x-109-maverick s-aims-to-free-ram-extend-battery-life
Mavericks uses RAM much more efficiently than any other previous version of OS X. Mavericks now has a memory compression feature that will compress the memory occupied by applications that aren't being actively used and give the freed up RAM to the application that needs it the most.
Memory Pressure graph that tells you how stressed is the system in terms of memory.

I have 2nd Gen Ipod touch and after upgrading to IOS 4.2.1, all the music were wiped out and I can't seem to upload or sync it anymore.  Tried all the fixes out there in the web to no avail.  Appreciate the help.

I am having the same problem.  I tried using a backup from two months ago, all of my music and apps are lost.  However, my iPod DOES remember my settings for the default apps, and my contacts are still there!  Tried any fix I could find to no avail, would certainly appreciate any advice!

  • Can not edit file on network shared folder after upgrading to windows 7

Merry Christmas and happy new year,
Due to some configuration changes on a specific application, I have forced to upgrade OS of a few number of workstations from Windows XP to windows 7. After upgrading I am facing a strange problem on WIN7 workstations. These workstation are member of a Windows
2008 R2 Active Directory domain which also has a Windows 2003 advanced server additional domain controller. Also there are a number of shared folders on some member servers (all windows 2003) which are mapped as network drives at user logon. Before upgrading
mentioned workstations to WIN7, users was able to edit his/her files on all of mapped network drive according to his/her permissions without any problem on their WINXP workstations, But after installing windows 7 they begin facing problem on one of these mapped
network drives and the problem exactly is when they edit a file, in more specific word an excel file, and then try to save, the excel returns an error message of "document not saved" and exit the excel program. It becomes more strange when you learn
that the edited excel file is disappeared and replace with some "tmp" file. If user copy the excel file to his/her own desktop, edit it and then copy it back to its original place on mapped network drive, it will be replaced normally with its older
version. In other words if user wants to edit an excel file on that specific network drive, he/she must edits it somewhere else and then replace it on the network drive. If the same user uses a WINXP box, there will be no problem.
Can anybody help me to fix the issue?
    TIA
    Bijan

    Thank you Karen,
The problem is fixed, but my case was none of what you suggested. In fact I have
another problem which I described in another question and it was of the root of this excel file issue. I describe what I have done to fix the latter problem hope to help fixing similar issues to mine.
Okay, as it is described in the
question, I was not able to open a shared folder with its UNC address while it could be mapped as a network drive without any problem. I examined what I was replied and some other ways, came to no result. I decided investigate a similar shared folder in
permissions to problematic one to see if the problem is repeated. So I created a folder and shared it with similar permissions and examined it. Surprisingly there was no problem. It was wise to remove sharing of the problematic folder and share it again to
see if the problem resist. But when I tried to remove sharing I received an error message saying that
the shared folder is related to a DFS root. When I took a look at the DFS roots of domain there was no sign of the problematic folder (that made me recall that I created a DFS root with problematic folder mistakenly and removed that DFS root).
After little searching, I found out that the problem could be caused by traces of the removed DFS root. Yep! I found the suspect! The registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DFS\Domain\problematic shared folder. I removed the key restarted DFS service and log off and on and Bingo!
This problem pops up a few more questions:
    1) Why is not the registry key related to removed DFS root deleted from the registry of windows 2003 server?
    2) Why was I able to browse this ex-DFS root shared folder without any problem in windows XP while it was problematic in windows 7?
    3) As there is no special client service for DFS and user can access DFS root targets like other shared folders what is the deference between shared resource access mechanisms in windows XP and windows 7 that caused the problem?
    Bests,
    Bijan

  • Disk not ejected properly notification after upgrade

    Hi,
I have a 500GB Western Digital external drive configured for Time Machine. I recently upgraded to Mavericks, now when my computer goes to sleep I get the dreaded "Disk was not ejected properly" message. With Mountain Lion I have experienced this issue when my macbook pro goes to sleep when running a vm in Parallels, but never at any other time.
It wouldn't really be a big deal, but I am connected to a thunderbolt display and when I wake the computer up, I have to unplug the thunderbolt cable and plug it back it in to get my thunderbolt display to turn back on. This is a real pain!
Not sure if this is a bug or configuration issue. Perhaps I might need a third party app like Jettison.
    Please help.

Thanks for the info. I reset the SMC and my mbp starting acting very funky. I started experiencing some odd behaviour with my internet connection, so I shutdown my mbp and left it off for at least a minute. When I rebooted I was able to connect wirelessly and hit the sites I could not before.
All good; however, I noticed that my external drive was showing as a usb device and not Time Machine drive. I selected the external drive from the Time Machine prefrences and now all seems to be working fine.
I think this was the actual issue I was experiencing after upgrading. I don't think the SMC reset was necessary in this case, but I gave it a shot because I had noticed the symptom of fans running frequently when there is minimal load and proper ventilation.
    Thanks.

  • Wireless network connectivity issues after upgrading to Snow Leopard

After upgrading to Snow Leopard (10.6.4) I find that my wireless network will not automatically connect to my router (Netgear DG834G) as it used to. First impressions are that the macbook is finding a number of wireless networks but wants to connect to the one that is alphabetically first in the list. It also seems that the signal that the airport is receiving is weak, even when the macbook is next to the router.
Has anyone experienced this when they upgraded?
Any and all help gratefully appreciated
    Nick

but a couple that I used with no problem before I upgraded now give me a "server not found" error after I enter my login and password.
Quit Safari. Open Keychain Access   /Applications/Utilities. Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the keychains for the sites you have problems logging into AND the Safari Forms Autofill keychain. Now from the menu bar click Keychain Access / Keychain First Aid. Select: Verify. If necessary, select: Repair. You will be prompted for your admin password. Click Start.
Relaunch Safari. Navigate to a site. Login with your user name and password. That will create a new keychain for you.
If you still have problems accessing sites, go to Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies. Delete all cookies or just the one's for the problematic sites. Now try logging into a site again.
Even though you upgraded to v10.6.7 make sure Safari is up to date. From the menu bar click Safari / About Safari. If it's a version prior to 5.0.5, click your Apple menu (top left in your screen) then click: Software Update...
And check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. Something there may be preventing you from accessing secure sites. If you have any extensions installed,  turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari to test.

  • Lost messages after upgrade to Tiger

After upgrading to Tiger I seem to have lost the messages in my main Inbox that were sent to my main email address. All the other mailboxes where I filtered mail to seem intact.
I backed up data to a separate firewire drive before I installed the new OS, including the Mail folder in Library... I can see the other mailboxes, but have not been able to locate the main Inbox or find and import the mail that is missing. Did Panther store it somewhere else??
I've looked at your support topics, but I'm still baffled.
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

The conversion from Mail 1.x to Mail 2.x is broken. Take a look at the following thread to better understand the problem:
Help! "You need to take this account online in order to download it."
In particular, you may want to take a look at the following article (also referenced in that thread) to learn what you might have done before upgrading to minimize the risk of this happening, and what you may do after fixing the problem to avoid similar issues from happening in the future. DON’T do now what the article suggests, though, as that would make things worse in the current situation:
    Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty
More specifically, if this is a POP account, the following procedure should allow you to fix the Inbox problems:
    1. Quit Mail.
    2. Make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to fix the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is stored.
    3. Create a new folder on the Desktop and name it however you wish (e.g. Inbox Old). It doesn’t need to have an .mbox extension.
    4. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/INBOX.mbox/.
    5. Move the files mbox and Incoming_Mail out of INBOX.mbox, into the Inbox Old folder just created on the Desktop. These files contain all the messages that were in the mailbox before the upgrade to Tiger, and maybe even some messages that had been deleted. mbox is the most important. Incoming_Mail may or may not be present.
    6. Move any strangely-named Messages-XXXXXX folder to the Desktop (not into the Inbox Old folder). These folders are to be deleted after fixing the problem. They are temporary folders created during an import or an indexing process, and Mail should have deleted them when done. Their presence is a clear indication that something didn’t work as expected. If you’ve been using Mail after the conversion and have already tried to fix the problem by rebuilding the mailbox or something like that, they might contain messages that are neither in Messages proper nor in the mbox file, so keep them around until the problem is fixed.
    7. Move everything else within INBOX.mbox, except the Messages folder, to the Trash.
The result of the above should be that INBOX.mbox contains the proper Messages folder only, and the Inbox Old folder on the Desktop contains the mbox and Incoming_Mail (if it exists) files only. Now, proceed as follows:
    8. Open Mail.
    9. The account’s Inbox should properly display in Mail as many messages as *.emlx files are in ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/INBOX.mbox/Messages/. If that’s not the case, select the mailbox in Mail and do Mailbox > Rebuild.
    10. In Mail, do File > Import Mailboxes, choose Other as the data format, and follow the instructions to import the Inbox Old folder that’s on the Desktop. Do with the imported mail whatever you wish. You may move to the account’s Inbox the messages that Mail failed to convert properly, and delete those that did get through and, hence, are duplicates now.
The following collection of AppleScripts has a Remove Duplicates script that can be useful for removing duplicate messages:
    http://homepage.mac.com/aamann/Mail_Scripts.html
If all is well and you’re not missing anything, the files on the Desktop can be deleted, although you may want to keep them for a while, just in case.
Ask for any clarifications or if you need further assistance.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • Network utility gone after upgrade to Mavericks

    Hello,
After upgrading my 1 year old Retina Macbook Pro from Mountain Lion to Mavericks my Network Utility app was removed after the successful upgrade.
Is this just an incident by me or was this intended to happen as function of this utility is put somewhere else or considered by Apple not to be necessary anymore.
    Regards,
    Rob

    Apple moved it to /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/.

  • Print out size lost control after upgrade to osx 10.9, cannot print 100% document original size, why?

    As subject said.
I'm using Xerox 1450GA, before upgrade to OSX 10.9, printing Adobe file could be in 100% real size. After upgrade, lost control, even checked setting in 100% in setting, come out image still auto reduce few percents, that make me confuse and cannot complete digital printing jobs, someone have same problem?  Please help to solve...

I've spent hours on the phone going in circles with HP's "support" (I use the term loosely here) and can confirm that it's a driver issue. The best part is, HP and Apple claim that neither of them have a copy of the v2.14 driver that actually worked, and I can't seem to dig one up online anywhere. I've tried everything under the sun and just gave up... ordering an Epson and selling both of my HP's. I think the only other option is to wait for HP to release working drivers, but since they don't even seem to understand that their driver is the source of the problem, I wouldn't hold my breath.
It seems really crazy to me that neither the manufacturer nor Apple keep a copy of the previous driver, but that's what I've been told. HP did release what they're calling a new 10.9 raster driver (available on their site), but it didn't fix the problem for me. If you have a timemachine backup from before the 2.16.1 driver was released, I'd restore to that and turn off automatic updates. If you don't (like me) seems like your stuck.

  • Lost applications after upgrade.

I have lost several applications including BBM applications after upgrade when I download it the system will say it is installed already but you can not see the icon.

I have tried all the above but it is not working.

  • Lost Notes after upgrade

After upgrading to version 6.0 I lost 18 months worth of  "Notes", I had checked iCloud for backup (as opposed to local laptop drive) but I cant see anyway to recover or restore from the missing Notes.Any ideas?

Within "settings", once you select iCloud there are multiple options to select to backup and "notes" is one of them. So it leaves you assuming you can back them up as well but after reading the literature that is not one of the items backed up along with others such as photo stream, contacts etc.

  • I've lost aperture after upgrading to maverick, common apple this is my livelihood.

i've lost access to aperture after upgrading to maverick, my livelyhood is tied up to aperure let alone all of my photographs for clients, come on apple don't do this again.

I tried the link leonieDFsent (http://support.apple.com/downloads/) and was unsuccessful after several attempts at the launching of the applications after download. Not sure why?,
christopherakapaul, the downloads page has update installers, not stand alone applications.
Any Aperture version you download from the Support page will have to run and to install the update to Aperture. For this to work, you need to have an older Aperture version in the Applications folder, and Mavericks must allow the installer to run. For some installers the security&priivacy settings in the System preferences need to be disabled.
