Hi ALL,
We are moving project from 'DEV' to 'TEST' and got error FRM-30041 on 'TEST':
FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
Item: BUTTON_DPP
Block: DOCPARTY
Form: XXACCDOCPARTY
FRM-30085: Unable to adjust form for output.
There are no compilation errors on 'DEV'.
forms both are: 6.08.27
Button: BUTTON_DPP: X: .292 , Y: 3.292, WIDTH: 2.052 , HEIGHT: .302 Properties: canvas: DOCPARTY
CANVA: DOCPARTY: WIDTH: 7.104, HEIGHT: 4.042
Everything looks OK, so where is the problem??

The issue is as simple as the error suggests. You have an item that is either partially or completed displayed off the canvas. Check the size of the window assigned to your canvas make sure it is large enough to include all of the items on your canvas. You could also try scrolling your canvas to see if there are any items not on your canvas area.

Hi All
I am using Oracle forms 10g.
I have developed a custom form First we had a single content canvas and three frame with master details block.
Now i have changed the detail block ie frame three to tab canvas and while running i have this error
FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
I have a save button in frame three but now after changing this frame 3 as tab canvas i have this error.
Can any one pls guide me to come out this error

Thanks for your response.
This form is already developed. And now the user need some slight changes, so i have made some modification.
There are three frames inside the one content canvas.Now the user wants to change the 3rd frame to tab canvas.And there is one save button inside the frame, So i dont want to keep this button inside the tab canvas, so i keep this save button outside the tab canvas.Eventhough i have change the third frame and moved inside to tab canvas and keep this button in content canvas but still same error is existing
can you pls guide me,if i commit any worng

FRM-30041 / FRM-30085

I am trying to convert some forms we built as stand-alone apps under Forms 6i (run as an app) to Forms 9i (run via a browser). Some of these forms have MANY buttons and MANY text boxes etc.
When I try to compile a form, I get the following error:
FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
Item: INS_TYPE
Block: PROP_TABLE
Form: INS_NAIC_DEF
FRM-30085: Unable to adjust form for output.
If I move the Item to a different position on the canvas, or simple delete it (and fix the related code), I will get the same error for another Item etc.
Is there a way to get the forms to fit under 9i? I've tried playing around with scroll bars etc, but with no luck.

Creating items on Tab canvas

I am creating text items on a Tab canvas.It allows me to put the items upto certain area only.If I put any item beyond while generating .fmx ,gives me error
FRM-30041 Position of item places it off of canvas.
However my canvas size is enough to accomadate.I am encountering this problem only with Tab canvas.With content canvas it is perfectly alright.
what is the problem and solution?

Horizontal Toolbar as startup image.

I have a form which was developed with forms 5. In this form are no blocks and no items. There is only one horizontal toolbar which contains an image. This is a kind of startup image. Now I want to compile this form with Forms6i but when I try this I get the following error message:
FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
Item: DUMMYITM
Block: DUMMYBLK
Form: MAINFORM
FRM-30085: Unable to adjust form for output.
How can I handle this with Forms6i.

There is no canvas, so the toolbar fills out the complete screen. The item is only a dummy you can`t see it at the object navigator or elsewhere.

Forms compilation Errors under Linux

Hello,
I have a main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb.
This forms compiles and runs perfectly through Oracle 9i iDS.
When transfering the fmb file under Linux, and attempting to recompile using the f90genm.sh utility, I get the following compilation errors:
FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects.
FRM-30436: Parent window not specified for canvas.View Canvas H_TOOLBAR
FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
Item: BUTTON_HELP
Block: VARIABLE
Form: TBDOCTRK
FRM: Unable to adjust form for output.

I noticed that most of the object that failed to load (1 data block object, 1 canvas and a number of property classes and visual attributes) are contained in a file called TOOLBAR.fmb.
The TOOLBAR.fmb file compiles without errors under Linux/WIndows + is located in the same folder as the Tbdoctrk.fmb file.
1) How can I resolve this issue ?

My main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb in turn calls a form called Pre_bord.fmb in a Program Unit.
Most but not all Class and Value Attributes are included in a file called toolbar.fmb. I did not find any specific reference to the toolbar.fmb file.
However, at compile time, I find that those objects are not loaded.
1) In what part of the main form Tbdoctrk.fmb should I find any such reference to the toolbar.fmb file ?
2) How should I create those symbolic links under Linux ?

Getting error message FRM-40700:No such trigger: SPECIAL20

We have designed a custom report (Quote) and would like to use Special Menu's(Reports Menu) to open this custom Report. When I try to open this Report using
REPORTS->Quote, The Report is opening seccuessfully but i am getting following error message at the bottom of screen bar.How can I clear this message ?

your package " app_special" does a call to "execute_trigger('SPECIAL20');" ,
but there is no trigger with this name in your form. ( perhaps an Menu-item exists with this name.)
Lock for "execute_trigger" in:

In that case I have changed the query to run the report. first of all i create a view following the query and build the report using a simple select query. that's etc. my report running fine now.

Can not delete the last record , frm-40202 field must be entered

i have built a form which contain master and details blocks
the problem is
when i look for a record by executing query on on transaction serial and try to delete this record from the master block it gives me new serial for the transaction and when i try to save it, it says
>frm-40202 field must be entered
where this field is required and i cant save it
although in another form when i delete from the master it gives me the previous record and it works properly
the question is :
why it gives a new serial when i delete the record ??if any one has any ideas pls help me

Hi ayadsufyan,
As it looks Andreas assumption of internal status change was correct. So taking into account this fact I would assume you are doing some data manipulation on the row you are unable to delete.
What I would suggest to do is to put the following code in your KEY-DELREC trigger :
clear_message;
message(:system.record_status);pause;Now when you delete the record you should get the INSERT status of the record. If so it definitely means you are doing some manipulation on the record you are trying to delete. From this point on you will have to pinpoint the offending code.
