Front page image to browser

Hi
My AppendFrontPage.VI uses the Append front page to report function to get front page from of another VI. AppendFrontPage.VI creates new HTML file as a report and then it adds two hyperlinks to the report. The front page image is added to this report and after this the report is saved to directory to overwrite an existing file. The directory where this HTML file is saved is web published as server. So the idea is to get the front page image to web site and updating that every few minutes. In program this means that the entire AppendFrontPage.VI is in "endless loop" with a timer.
But here's the problem: The Append front page to report function seems to create a temporary image files that are not temporary. The VI overwrites the HTML on every loop cycle, but "temporary" image file, example like this: LVtemp034555102214, wont be overwritten. So the VI creates a new image every time. I don't want the files to plug my hard drive. Can anyone tell me how to overwrite these files, or if anyone has a better solution how to form my program??
I tried also to make the program with invoke node as Front Panel:Get Image Method. This works but the image won't show in web browser if I use the IP address pointed to the HTML file in address bar. It works only if use the file directory address. You know, as locally. But the idea is to access the web page from somewhere else than the computer the web page was made from.

Hi there !
I just bought my new Black Video 60G. iPod. At the moment all is working allmost ok.
Does anybody had a similar trouble with not showing images that identify the front page of CD's?. I mean I import the images in .jpeg and at bigining they was show on ipod screen, but.. when i add more pics to ident my cd's they simply doesn't appear any more.
I select and de-select the icon where choose show it or not but... nothing.
If i check trought i-Tunes my Ipod music files, the images are there !! but i can't see them... ( double clicking at central control).
How can i resolve this?

Preview in browser doesn't load linked page images

The site works fine when uploaded, but when I preview a page
(it's a work in progress site so constantly adding to it), it
previews fine, but when I click the links to other pages, it loads
the page with all the images in position but only as missing
images, ie. none display! Is this normal? It means I can't see it
properly until I upload it - kinda defeats the object of a preview
function??

Yes. Of course. If you are using root relative links, you
cannot click away
from the previewed page. The reason for this is the the
target page tells
the browser to fetch an image like <img
src="/whatever/whatever.gif"... and
the browser looks for this image at the root of the hard
drive, not the root
of the site.
The solution, if you want to click to new pages, is to not
use root relative
links. Only use document relative ones. To read more about

New report page and append front panel image

Hi,
I am trying to create a report using the Report Generation toolkit in LabView 6.1 which gets printed to PDFCreator.
I have 4 front panel images that I am appending to the report, and I would like each image to be on its own page. I am trying to accomplish this using the New Report Page vi, but it doesn't appear as though it is putting any page breaks in the report, and no errors are being generated. Do the page breaks that this vi puts in only apply to text? What is another method that can accomplish putting each image on its own page? Simply creating and printing 4 reports will not work, since I need the 4 images to be in the same PDF file, and PDFCreator does not support appending to PDF files instead of overwriting.

Hi Ian,
According to the Help for "New Report Page.vi" you can append either text or another file to the new page. Are you creating a standard report?

Are you sure you are uploading the pages to the correct location?
Could you post a screen capture of your expanded files window, showing the remote server and local file structures?
I'm guessing they're not identical and that you may be uploading to a redundant root folder.

The links I send to my album opens the Revel front page on other computers.

If I copy the link form my browser as the FAQ page says (FAQ: How do I share files in Revel?) it opens only the Revel front page on other computers. Also in the Mac app, the share option is not active. What's wrong?
And an additional question: if I shared an album this way, by sharing the link, is there any way to cancel the sharing?

Hi Gábor,
It is possible you are sharing the wrong URL. This wouldn't surprise me as the FAQ is terribly confusing. I am going to re-state how to share an album with friends.
To share an album from adoberevel.com:
1. Go into your Library and create an album with whatever images you'd like.
2. While in the album select Share. A dialog displays - select to Start Sharing
3. After that another dialog displays with a short URL. Copy that URL and send it out via email or use one of the share icons that display on that screen. You can also select from that screen if you want people to be able to download images.
You can select to stop sharing the album at any time by going back to that same dialog and select to Stop Sharing.
If you want to share an album through the Revel Desktop:
1. Go into your Library and select the Album icon (or go to File>New Empty Album
2. Enter a name for you album. Select the Share to adoberevel.com checkbox. You can also decide if you want to allow downloads here.
3. A short URL will be generated. You can copy that now if you'd like or come back to it. Select Create button.
4. Add photos to the album.
5. Click on the album in the list and a little " i " will display next to the album name. Click on it and the URL will display. That is the URL that you share.
Again, you can select to stop sharing the album at any time by going back to that same dialog and select to Stop Sharing.

Best Way to Host Front Panel in Web Browser

Hello All
I am almost confused with all methodology that Labview have to host the Top Level front panel in Web browser. My requirement is to Monitor and control the Front Panel from remote location using web browser, but without installing any LV Runtime engine in Client machine. Also I want to stream the Videos in same or different page. Which is the best way to do this?. Web-service or CGI

Rigilkumar,
If you don't want to install the LV runtime engine, that rules out the remote front panels. However, you should still be able to build a web service to do what you want. This will be a bit more tedious because you'll have to build a thin client to have an interface with the web service. You can find an example of a thin client built in Adobe Flex here.
If you're looking at streaming video as well, I recommend you look over Streaming IMAQ Images Over a Network (or Internet)

Let me explain a little more. I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The 5 books left are ones I decided to keep as seen in the following picture.
This is how it appears in iBooks on my mac. There are 4 books downloaded and 1 book that I have decided not to download at this time. I would still like to keep this book available in the cloud incase I want to download it again in the future. You’ll notice that hide iCloud books is not selected, if I wanted to hide the book that I have chosen to keep in the cloud, but have not downloaded yet I could.
This is exactly how I think this feature should work. If you have hidden a book from your purchases it should not show up in the mac Ibooks app. (I am aware you can never actually delete a purchase, just hide them and that hidden purchases can be restored to your account from within the account management section of the iBooks store).
The iOS app is working differently for me. Here is a picture of the purchased tab on the iBooks store in iOS Ibooks. Again notice that pictures of Lilly is still yet to be downloaded. This is how I expected it to look.
If we visit the front page of iOS iBooks the view is very different from what I expected. Here we can see the 4 books I wanted to keep on my device and have downloaded. Printed front panel graphics quality (Print Panel to Printer method vs. Append Front Panel Image to Report.vi)

I have a vi that the front panel includes all the information I need to print except that it is on different pages of a tab control to conserve screen space. I was attempting to programatically cycle the value of the tab control in a For loop and invoke the Print Panel to Printer method to print 7 pages of the front panel, each with a different tab page selected. The printouts were excellent quality but beginning with the second consecutive Print Panel to Printer method the on screen front panel image of the VI being printed would become jumbled (sometimes, by the time 7 printings were done, the entire front panel image would disappe
ar and a bitmap of the desktop or underlying windows would be visible in the VI's panel frame) yet the subsequent Print Panel to Printer methods continued to print the panel as they should appear. The visible front panel graphics would never return to normal and the only solution was to close the vi (in the dev system) or exe (compiled) and re-launch. I tried a lot of things (like hiding the panel to print before printing and showing it after printing) with no luck. It appears that two or more of these consecutive invoke methods caused the problem regardless of whether the tabs were cycling, or even if there was no tab control and much fewer controls on the panel to be printed than normal. I also had the same problem with LV 6.1.
Finally, I was forced to switch to the report generation toolkit vi's, I cycle through the tab pages and use the Append Front Panel Image to Report.vi to append each image to the report. This is faster and control returns to my program quicker but I a
m unhappy with the printed quality of the graphics of the front panels. They are not as high of resolution as those generated via the Print Panel to Printer method.
Any suggestions?

You might try changing the way the VI is printed by going to tools >> options >> printing. Try the postscript and bitmap settings.

Assign/Change page image in TOC - RoboHelp 9

I would like to have 2 sep. page images in my TOC. One = [?] and another indicating that a video link is contained on page. I changed the URL image link but can't find out how to assign the image to the page. Is this the way to go? If so, how do I assign the image to the page. --Thank you.

I'm just sayin.
This part is the real reason for my reply. I'm mystified as to why one would elect to use RoboHelp for all other authoring aspects, but resort to HTML Help Workshop (HHW) to manage assigning icons when you are able to easily to it from inside RoboHelp. Sure, HHW is free, but we are still assuming folks are using RoboHelp as we are in the RoboHelp forums, no? Why would I elect to use a separate tool when the tool I have does exactly what I need? So that bit is a real puzzler to me.
I noticed you also wanted to point out that the help for HHW states you may use your own icons. And to that I would caution that while it certainly is possible and I've done it, actual implementation is far more painful than many care to use. As a result, the whole notion of using your own icons is most likely abandoned after seeing how difficult it can be to get implemented.

Only Safari won't show home page image

Having problems with home page image showing in only Safari (
www.truthandlife.info ). May be a css problem, but I don't know...
Originally, we had to alter the drop down menu becasue it
wouldn't work on Safari, so a friend fixed that but that fix took
away the main image - he writes:
"I found some other information that suggested setting the
ClientTarget attribute to “uplevel” when you detect the
Safari or Opera browsers.
I went ahead and implemented that by creating a base class
called BasePage (in the App_Code folder) and made every page load
derive from it using the “Inherits” parameter. This
seemed to solve the problem on Safari (I don’t have Opera)
without affecting IE7. Note that all new pages you create need to
have the Inherits=”BasePage” tag set in their
<Page> element.
So all is good in that the submenus pop up as we would
expect…but there is a problem with the graphic on the default
page. The main image doesn’t load on the Safari browser
unless I remove that ClientTarget=”uplevel” statement.
If I remove it, then the menus don’t work."

Still trying of course - so
I redid that alternate masthead for ie5.5 and updated the
link - yes, now the ALTERNATE banner shows but NOT the image I
need, which DOES still show in other browsers. Only in Safari does
the alternate masthead now show, but not the main masthead needed.

Do you resize your photos first before placing on front page?

i am working on a new site. When I clear my cache and view the site, it seems to take quite a few seconds before everything loads. There are only three small images with 10px borders around each. Would it be best to resize these images in PS prior to reduce their size? The other pages aren't as critical as the first page, but do you make this a general practice for your front page?

Yes, I pre-process all my photos before uploading to the internet via iWeb or any program or site. Is this absolutely necessary? No.

Front page and Hover button

Quick question. Trying to help a buddy of mine here. He created a web page on Front Page and added a java hover button which creates a class called fphover.class. When he published the page the buttons don't show. When I loaded the page on my PC which has the SDK and all the tools I need to t-shoot, i get the following exception errors.

I have verified the location of the class on the ftp server \images\fphover.class. IS there something stupid that we are missing ? Haven't been using java too much so Im getting very rusty. Any help will be appreciated. Want to look good in front of my friend :-D

This is just a front page hover button. front page creates the class. My question basically is , when the page is published , is it enough to just have that class file on the server and have teh html code point to it.
