Frozen out of Business Catalyst?

I'm trying to merge my account and I'm creating a new  Adobe ID account, but I get this error: "This Adobe ID email address is  already registered with Business Catalyst and cannot be merged with a  different Business Catalyst account."
That error  message is displayed because the email address that you have chose when  trying to create the Adobe ID is already used as an Adobe ID, or is  already used in the Business Catalyst system.
To solve this, enter another email address.
this makes no sense...   just got this, after I signed in with my adobe id.  And Im frozen out?  need help?...  thanx

I don't think this kind of sign in error can be solved by yourself.
Adobe have a very handy chat support for BC-partners. If they can not solve your problem they can escalate it to other department of Adobe. The support whoever needs that you are able to use your  Adobe ID. If this is not the case, try using the public available form at http://www.businesscatalyst.com/contact to get in touch with a BC support member.

  • How do I edit the CSS of a Dynamic Menu with Dreamweaver and Business Catalyst.

    I've watched tutorials on v2 menu module and it obviously was not made for someone just starting out in Business Catalyst. I want to edit the CSS of my Dynamic Module, preferably V1, but if I have to use version 2 I will. The problem I am running into is that the width of the menu I am trying to make is not big enough. The menu is extremely simple, I could whip it up with css and html in a matter of minutes. Just black words horizontal layout with a dark red hover color and selected state. I can change all that in Business Catalyst Site Manager just fine, however, the width of my menu when I look at it on the site, is way too small. Probably only 750px wide. I want it 1000px wide, but I haven't the faintest idea of where to find that information to change. When I add the menu module to my html code i get this: {module_menu,1534789}. How do I add or find css/html to edit the properties? I know I can add classes to the items inside the menu in the Site Manager, but where do I find the html code that shows those names?
    I'm obviously missing something important and probably really easy, so I hope someone can help.

    I went ahead and built the navigation without a module, easier than wasting all this time trying to figure it out.
    But initially my main problem was when I add the Menu module to my html in dreamweaver, this:  {module_menu,1534789} would be put in my html instead of css/html code. Now if publish my site and look at the page source, it shows the css/html, but it doesn't in dreamweaver. So is that the only way to edit the css/html code, copy the page source and replace the {module_menu,1534789} with the copied code in dreamweaver?

  • Business Catalyst templates not containing content in Muse built site

    I am currently upgrading a clients website and have recently got into designing using Muse and thought I would try out the BUsiness Catalyst system to host it all etc. I wanted to use muse for the more static opages and the the blog for case studies and the ecommerce section for the product catalogue (even though we will not be selling online).
    All was going swimmingly until I found the pages I had created for the main template pages {tag_pagecontent} or any other module on that note. The site search results was doing it too if the results can over a certain length. Its seemed that the page would be stuck at a standard height. I have dragged the content box down to meet the footer guide so in theory it expands the page when it has to but for some reason this isnt working for me. I am not sure if it is how I have sut up the footer or the page or the way I have the master pages working or something. I have tried various options but am about to give up. I either have to bin business catalyst or just use muse to create the whole catalogue but with over 200 products this could take some time.
    I woudld appreciated some help from some more experienced users or techincal heads. I hope it is an easy fix or there is some way around it.

    Also the sticky footer on these template pages and pages with module content (i.e the search results page) isnt sticking to the bottom as you can scroll past it. Which leads me to believe its something to do with the footer I have set up.

    I did try unpinning but that didnt work for me either.
    It took too long to get an answer so I am now using another system that doesnt have this problem. Hopefully when I use Muse again I wont have this problem. Sorry.

  • I am having problems connecting Muse to Business Catalyst.  When I try to publish, I get a message saying its timed out trying to connect with my Adobe ID -- and to check network connections.  All my connections are fine ... Muse is connected to my Adobe

    I was able to publish my site from Muse to Business Catalyst two days ago, but yesterday and today it is timing out when trying to connect to Business Catalyst.  What should I do?

    Please sign out of Muse and Sign In again. Also Make sure Creative cloud application is up to date ( to check that sign out of creative cloud and sign in again if its not up to date you will be prompted to install the update)
    To sign out of muse click on Help > Sign Out
    If the issue is still not fixed then please rename the "OOBE" folder to "OOBE.old" from the following locations
    MAC : (This folder can be found at Finder > Go > Go to Folder> Type ~/library/application support/Adobe > Hit return)
    Widows : ( This folder can be found at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe )
    Please let me know in case the issue still persist

  • Signing on to Business Catalyst is timing out

    I have not used my Creative Cloud allotment of Business Catalyst testing sites in a while, and I want to manage them - remove unused ones and add anew site that I am testing.
    I don't know where to do that or how to sign on to that.
    Also when I just hit Publish, the logon is timing out. I have chnged my password recently, but I have no trouble logging on to Adobe.com.
    How do I correct this??

    Hmmm - well there is menu item that says publish, as well as the publish option at the top right, but both of them send me to what seems to be an endless loop of trying to log me into business Catalyst. I really wish i could find that "manage" command you speak of - been searching for tall morning!
    I went to BC and was able to log in with my Adbe.com password, but it would only let me see either of the two sites I had up for testing purposes(there is a dropdown menu on the BC login page) but no administrator type page showing me BOTH sites and allowing me to delete them - BOTH are old testing sites no longer in use.
    so i finally uploaded my new site onto a testing folder on my own server at InMotion, so that I can send it to my client. I need to get this straightened out, though - very frustrating  - I never go wrong assuming it is my own error causing these problems, but still trying to debug myself!

    Dreamweaver is automatically logging me into my default Adobe ID - which is different from the Business Catalyst login I need to use. I am not the administrator for the BC account I need to login, so the "login to the Business Catalyst web administration console" link is unhelpful. How can I log out?

  • Business Catalyst Check Out scripts not working on  IE8 or lower

    I have currently fixed a lot of incompatibilities on the Business Catalyst check out,
    but I am currently working on compatibilities for IE8, 7 , 6 I have managed to load most of the plugins all
    over the site but I am having problems on the Check Out area of the site.
    I am not sure what can be blocking the scripts from loading!!

    Best way to confirm that the issue either lies with BC or local is to remove the template from the shop and see if the issues resolves. 
    If working fine then I would suggest looking into your template to see what conflicts might be causing this.  If the issue doesn't resolve even w/o the template assigned then I would recommend reaching our direct support ASAP so they can investigate and test further.  -> http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/index.html (Select Business Catalyst and proceed)

    I just finished a site on Muse. Skybalancecenter.com. I used one of the easy to use contact forms but it says it is configured to work only with Business Catalyst. i have my own hosting account with Godaddy where the site is on. how can I manipulate the code so the forms will function correctly. I hope this is not only going to work with Business Catalyst.

    I have logged in on Dreamweaver CS6 and I cannot see my partner site. How can I edit it?
    This is a known issue. For paid partners (Standard or Premium) you can use the workaround described below:
    export one of your sites as an .ste file
    Open the .ste file in another text editor, and modify it
    Replace the :
    httpaddress with your partner's site URL address
    secureURL with your partner site secure URL
    siteid with the site ID of your partner site
    Save the .ste file with another name
    Import this .ste file into Dreamwaver, choose a local root folder

    I'm trying to login to Dreamweaver CS6 with my Business Catalyst credentials, and it doesn't work. What credentials do I need?
         You can login to Dreamweaver CS6 with your Adobe ID. If you haven't merged your BC account with an Adobe ID account, you'll need to merge it and then you should be able to login.
    How do I access sites in Dreamweaver with an Adobe ID other than the one linked to my Creative Cloud or Dreamweaver subscription?
          Dreamweaver defaults to using the Adobe ID from your subscription to avoid the inconvenience of logging in multiple times. To use a different ID, just click the "Logout" button in the lower-right hand corner of the Business Catalyst panel and log in with a different Adobe ID:
    You'll need to have a file open in an existing BC site for the "Logout" button to be visible. Logging out will not affect the Adobe ID used in conjunction with your Dreamweaver subscription. To change the Adobe ID for your subscription, click Help -> Deactivate.

    At this point the upgrade workflow is not functional just yet, as mentioned here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2153
    So the webBasics Creative Cloud cannot be upgraded directly  to the webBasics+ level for now.
    But a workaround for this case would be to re-publish your Dreamweaver/Muse project (I suppose you've used one of these solutions to build the site in the first place, right?) in a new trial/temporary site  -> let us know what is the URL of that site (don't push it live) -> we will change the site plan from our backend to webBasics+ -> you will be able to publish it using the webBasics+ site plan.
    Please note that this is going to be a separate charge, besides your Creative Cloud subscription. The monthly fee for webBasics+ will be $12.21/month, as mentioned here: http://www.adobe.com/products/business-catalyst/buying-guide-subscriptions.html
    Another way to use the webBasics+ plan would be to simply trigger a new trial site here: https://syd.worldsecuresystems.com/PartnerPortal/FreeTrialSignup.aspx#splash with the same Adobe ID as the one used to buy the Creative Cloud subscription and  take that site live separately.

  • Help with code for inserting horizontal scroll bar in photo gallery in Business Catalyst site?

    I am using Business Catalyst and Dreamweaver to create a trial site.
    I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this request but anyway I have inserted a photo gallery module at the bottom of the sidebar in the homepage of my test site.
    Can anyone advise on whether jquery or any other code can be inserted into the page or module code that will replace the "next" hyperlink below the first 4 photos with a horizontal scroll bar at bottom of the gallery so users can just scroll through all 12 images ?

    Have you tried putting this rule back as it was originally:

  • Why do emails from Business Catalyst site not show up on iPhone?

    I have an email setup on my own Business Catalyst website with a few alias's. The email account is setup in my Outlook 07 Windows 7 64 pro desktop, and I can send and receive emails from all of the alias's and the main email. However I am noticing that on some emails from clients, I get the email on my desktop Outlook 07, but it never shows up on my iPhone.
    EXAMPLE: Today I received an email at 12:57pm. It shows on my desktop. But never showed up on my iPhone. Once I saw this I forwarded the message from my desktop to the same email address that my client had sent his email to. Once I did that I did get the forwarded email of the original email on my iPhone. And yes, I have received other emails from the same client email address before on several occasions.
    Problem is that I left my office at 12:15 and did not see this 12:57 email until I got back to the office much later in the day.  And thus, ending my day very badly due to.....???      A) the Business Catalyst email I have setup is not setup correctly  B) my email settings in my iPhone is not setup correctly.
    Wondering if anybody else has experienced the same issue and figured out what step was missed.

    Not sure how is that working on one instance but not other. Can you please try to use mail.b.hostedemail.com as incoming and/or outgoing mail server on iphone and try again. This hostname has the SSL certificate installed on it and can be used for transferring the emails in a secured manner.

    Updated to Adobe Muse 2014 this morning and have worked in it for the last 8 hours. Now when I try to publish the updated site to Business Catalyst for my client to preview it crashes everytime. I have tried just publishing altered files only, then tried the whole site again, and then tried publishing as a new site altogether. Thought I would then try to export as HTML in the hope of uploading the files via an FTP client and Muse crashes and locks up again. I am extremely stressed about this as I am in the last few days of of website I have been working on now with no issues since December. We are due to go live and my client needs to see it. I am desperate for an answer. It is not looking good. I am on an Apple Mac and have not had any isses publishing it for the last 6 months. Not very happy to say the least. Need desperate help.

    Hi Zak, I got onto Adobe Customer Care Live Chat this morning and gave them the error message. After some trouble shooting with them it appears the older archived file of the site still publishes. I have now reverted back to the old file and copied and pasted out of the new file and from some ideas given to me by support I am now able to publish to Business Catalyst. It seems there was something corrupt within the new pages added yesterday. I have no idea if this would have still happened if I hadn't updated but I am glad it wasn't a Muse specific problem. I am loving using Muse and the support from Adobe has been excellent. Thanks everyone. By the way I do love the new version and apart from this hick up that lost me a few hours, aged me some more and gave me grey hair I really love Muse. Thanks again.

  • How can I delete the extension .html in the web browser if I do not have Business Catalyst?

    I have been working on my site for quite some time but just realized that if I type in www.website.com/page it will not work unless I type in www.website.com/page.html.  This will be really detrimental for my client.  Is there a way to allow customers to type in www.website.com/page if I do not have Business Catalyst.  (I saw the forum with the BC workaround)

  • Is there a way I can have Business Catalyst automatically import product content from Amazon? (e.g. a Web App I could build, perhaps?)

    I'm currently building a site using Drupal that is basically a huge book database and book review site. In order to acquire basic information about certain books I'm using an Amazon module that automatically pulls information into my Drupal database (such as author name, page count, publication date, etc.) based on any ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) I enter. It's a pretty nice arrangement. Also, people can click on a link that leads them to the item on Amazon so that they can purchase it and I can collect a puny affiliate commission. Yay Internet!
    But I'd like to use Muse and Business Catalyst instead. I was able to create a Web App version of my database but I can't figure out how to 1) automatically import based on ASIN and 2) automatically link each book record in the database to its page on Amazon. Honestly, if I could just get the info into the database alone I'd be happy.
    I'm afraid that Adobe would have to create some sort of connection on their end that interfaces with the Amazon API - and therefore there is no way to create such a website now using Muse. But, of course, I don't know everything so I ask you all: is there a way this can happen now?

    To do stuff like that will always need custom coding and things like API work. You will never be able to use Muse for that, its a basic site design tool that can hook up to BC modules. You will need to use coding software and have custom API work done for things like this.
