FSG in BI Publisher

Hi All,
I am inprocess of transforming the FSG reports to BI Publisher.
During this process, I am struck at data structure while copying the sql into Data Template.
Can anybody let me know where I can find how to map and group the data structures for the Data Template.

Yep, it is. I thought the GL team shipped a sample template that did this. You can not use the generic FSG template, you need to build one that knows how many columns of data are coming but it can be done.
If you can not find it in the Template Manager, drop me a mail and I can send a sample.

The import statement in our code is as followed

wheather I have to open a SR on metalink asking for an updated file ConcurrentRequest.class ?

Right now I am facing a different problem.
On click of submit button The page gets called but it gives error as
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Could not load application module 'oracle.apps.fnd.cp.srs.server.RequestAM'.
In myprojects folder under oracle dir at reqd path I have this AM .
Whether I need to add the bc4j pkg "oracle.apps.fnd.cp.srs.server.RequestAM" in my project . I dont think so as I am not extending any class/VO or doing any substitution.

Error when trying to run an FSG Report via XML Publisher...

Hope someone can help.
This is our first look into the benefits of XML Publisher in order convince Manager to start using it. Thing is, we really need to get both FSG reports and Dunning Letters working.
We've currently got XML Publisher 5.0.0 and BI Publisher Template Builder for Word v10.1.3.2.0
First up, FSG reports. Having followed this link here:

Ive managed to create a template based upon the basic FSG template supplied. I’ve follwed easy steps but on submitting the request against ANY [its what the notes said] FSG report the error messages from both the log and output files are given.. Those being..
Output file displayed the most productive error message:

i think there is no option to run FSG reports from BI Publsiher, as FSG reports are defined in Oracle EBS Financials suite.
but you can take xml file and run it from desktop based on rtf file

Oh.. i thought you will hit here at last. But finding the path of the EXE every time in the client PC is not a suitable solution. So we cant hardcode the EXE path also.
But even here, we can handle in 2 ways.
1) Putting the EXE in the PATH variable of the SYSTEM
2) Finding the EXE path by reading the REGSITRY of the client PC.
But our current standards doesnt allows us to take either of this. Because we arent allowed to use HOST commands from the front end.
Anything else we can do to achieve apart from what i have said before

Intermittent issues when publishing FSG Reports to Excel

Hi,
Could you assist me.
Our Client are on 12.1.3 and are having intermittent issues when trying to publish FSG's to Excel. At times it sucessfully works straight away and other times it wont do anything.
They state "When a report is published it will open Excel show some purple/yellow formatting will show but will then quickly revert to a blank spreadsheet and goes no further or completes".
Has this been seen before?

FSG report output does not show column headers (XML Publisher)

Hi everyone
Iam required to create a template for an FSG report with 20 columns. Used copy of FSG:Fixed number of columns Template(FSGTEMP) to create the template because i need to do some conditional formatting(need to show negative values in red color).
here is the problem:
when i use the template and run the program the output i can see the row data but not the column headers..column headings are blank!
regarding the conditional formatting, can anybody tell me how to give the condition
iam able to give the condition for oracle reports but not for FSG reports as i dont see the column name in the 'data field' in conditional format

Open the report in Edit Mode Click on the reports and in the properties section Uncheck the
Enable Document Cache Property and your issue should be resolved.

Hide column in the adress if it is null and print next line in XML publishe

I'm converting oracle report to XML publisher report.
I craeted template rtf with word. everything works fine.
Except address prints null coumns if it is null.
I used if condition in template. something like this...
<?if:B_ADDRESS1!=''?><?B_ADDRESS1?><?end if?>
But I see still it prints null columns.
Any body have idea how can i fix this?

Hi Guys,
I have built a template for FSG reports. Currently the FSG Reports when run in XML does pull the Display Sets definition for the report. The Display Set is used to hide certain row and Column intersections from the FSG.
So to accomplish this I have coded each column in the template to display data or hide data for a particular row by using the code
<?if:(position()) !=1?><?fsg:RptCell[2]?><?end if?> ------ This means, show the column for all rows except row 1.
Now there are some places I have to hide Column 1 for row 2 and row3 and display for row 1 and row 4.
Can anyone please tell me how I can accomplish this.

Report Manager taking a long time to publish with Content Set that will pro

Hi I am trying to publish 2 reports in report manager that each have multiple tabs. The are Exprense and Revenue Trend reports that will publish for each balancing segment, one years previous data. I can publish in pdf and html however not very pretty. Excel is taking too long and eventually crashed my session. Does anyone have any info on excel performance issues: The compents of teach FSG are as follows:

Layout issue while trying Migrate Oracle Report to XML publisher Reports

I am trying to Convert Seeded Oracle Reports (rdf) to BI Publisher reports, in doing so encounter layout issues. The layout of the RTF , PDF or HTML generated by BI Publisher is different form the text, PDF or HTML outputs generated by the concurrent report. The problem with the BI Publisher template and out put
Is, the lay out is getting distorted .
Steps to archive the migration :
-     download the rdf from the server to local m/c.
-     execute Forms 9i Util rwconverter to generate a xml
-     use the oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.RTFTemplateGenerator API to generate a RTF template of the report layout
-     Then use this template to generate a XSL via oracle.apps.xdo.template.RTFProcessor API
-     The Apply the XSL on the XML data output of the report using oracle.apps.xdo.template.FOProcessor to generate RTF , PDF & HTML files.
Name of the Report used for migration “FSG - Report Detail Listing” , responsibility GL super User. This was just a random report we picked-up for trial.
The layout of these files seems to distorted than the layout of the original report output as generated by the rdf report.
Pls suggest some means to resolve this or any pointers towards what causing this could be of help.

The process of "converting" an old Oracle Reports rdf into a BIP report is more akin to writing a brand new report in BIP than to what most people would consider a true conversion.
The conversion routine outlined by Oracle just gives you a starting point for converting RDF layouts into BIP, and nothing more. In regards to the data define it does somewhat better generating your queries and XML layout (but honestly, that is the easy part), but even for the data define it will lose your formula columns as well as report triggers.
I have used the converter on several dozen rdf files and I have yet to see one that is better than 10-20% ready for use after the conversion process.
I would strongly suggest that you only convert the reports that you have to convert (for enhancements, modifications, etc). If it ain't broke in old Oracle Reports, dont' try to fix it in BIP.

Does anyone have any ideas on this. Is it because of the namespace in the select attribute of the xapi:request element?

Oracle report 'XML Report Publisher' error 2 step process

We're getting error 'Invalid UTF8 encoding' when running the above report. This is a second step of the two step process when creating XML output in Oracle Apps. The first step is report 'PO Output for Communication'. This one error out with the following warning:

i m executing a Concurrent Program Details Report - XML Publisher program and i m getting following errors
Error:

How to control Excel Output in Oracle BI Publisher

I have created an XML report in Oracle E-Business Suite. It displays the output in Excel. The problem is when I generate it's output in PDF it is perfectly fine but when I see the output in Excel, the layout automatically aligns it to the leftmost corner. This behavior is same with all the Excel reports.
My question is: Is it the default behavior of Excel outputs or Can I control the layout so that it is displayed in the middle not the leftmost corner?
Can I center align the layout by default? If so , how?
