FTP'd the results in BIPublisher
my question is
is it possible to place the ftp'd reports in otehr place(it is a place to store the files).
if yes, how many ways(Excel,pdf,.......) we can place the ftp'd reports in seperate place(place to store the files)
Yes you can.
The documentation explains how you should configure your environment to deliver the output to an FTP server:

Also, at run time you may select the output type as well: HTML, PDF, etc.

Why after uploading to FTP does the site page appear then disappear?
Hello Everybody,
I am an amateur when it comes to Muse but am capable of making minor text and image changes, saving as HTML, then uploading to my FTP server. I have an accordion menu on my main page that I had previously made some changes to by adding content (text and a pic). Last Friday I went in to make similar changes as I had before. After I uploaded through Filezilla, I checked out my changes online and was confused by the result.
Basically the main page as it should look pops up for an instant then disappears. In its place is just one of the boxes from the accordion menu (not all of them); in this case, it is our Twitter feed.
I don't know if I pressed something to make this menu come forward, or mask the rest of the site, but I'm having lots of trouble figuring it out. Obviously the main site has not been deleted, but it is just being hidden somehow.

You can try grabbing different properties, and they will print out differently, displaying the data on the same line in some cases. For example, pipe your output to a "foreach-object" block, and then for each object print out the CounterSamples property.

This should all print on one line now. However, you also asked if there was a way to not have the server print out on every line. The way to control the format of these outputs is to use the "format-table" cmdlet. So you would pipe your output to format-table

Error while viewing the result in OBIEE

we have installed OBIEE in a linux host. I am able to start the server and I am able to login. During the creation of report,.. after selecting the columns, when I press on the result , I see the following exceptions ..

I have just checked if OC4J server , BI server and JAVA HOST service started properly. only JAVA HOST service did not seem to start properly. I have checked the <OBIEE Installation Directory>//OracleBIData/web/log/javahost.out.log
It has the following error "List of process IDs must follow -p."
Please let me know what could have been the problem causing this error.

Actually, I have installed the OBIEE in Linux. I have directly ported the RPD file that I have created in my local windows system onto the OBIEE in linux host. I am not aware of any setup that needs to be done prior to start working on this. Can you please let me know what are all the changes to be done in odbc.ini or point me to any resource which has those details.

Not able to see the result in particular column of BPC report

I have problem in one of the BPC report where I am not able to see the result into one column but rest of the users are able to see the result for same column in same report without any issues.

I have a VI and an attched .txt data file. Now I want to read the data from the .txt file and display it as an array in the front panel. But the result is not right. Any help?

read_array.vi 21 KBThe problem is in the delimiters in your text file. By default, Read From Spreadsheet File.vi expects a tab delimited file. You can specify a delimiter (like a space), but Read From Spreadsheet File.vi has a problem with repeated delimiters: if you specify a single space as a delimiter and Read From Spreadsheet File.vi finds two spaces back-to-back, it stops reading that line. Your file (as I got it from your earlier post) is delimited by 4 spaces.
Here are some of your choices to fix your problem.
1. Change the source file to a tab delimited file. Your VI will then run as is.
2. Change the source file to be delimited by a single space (rather than 4), then wire a string constant containing one space to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi.
3. Wire a string constant containing 4 spaces to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi. Then your text file will run as is.
Depending on where your text file comes from (see more comments below), I'd vote for choice 1: a tab delimited text file. It's the most common text output of spreadsheet programs.
Comments for choices 1 and 2: Where does the text file come from? Is it automatically generated or manually generated? Will it be generated multiple times or just once? If it's manually generated or generated just once, you can use any text editor to change 4 spaces to a tab or to a single space. Note: if you want to change it to a tab delimited file, you can't enter a tab directly into a box in the search & replace dialog of many programs like notepad, but you can do a cut and paste. Before you start your search and replace (just in the text window of the editor), press tab. A tab character will be entered. Press Shift-LeftArrow (not Backspace) to highlight the tab character. Press Ctrl-X to cut the tab character. Start your search and replace (Ctrl-H in notepad in Windows 2000). Click into the Find What box. Enter four spaces. Click into the Replace With box. Press Ctrl-V to paste the tab character. And another thing: older versions of notepad don't have search and replace. Use any editor or word processor that does. -
IF ELSE Statement in BEx Query based on the results

I want to realize the following IF/ELSE statement in a BEx Query in respect to the result values
If the result of KF1 equals 0, than set the KF2 to 0, Else (KF1 NE 0) show the value of KF2
Background: I want to report the order backlog. In the example above we have an incoming order value of 23.700,80 EUR in periode 12.2013 and an turnover of 22.370,80 EUR in periode 01.2014. The order backlog in ST (KF1) is 1 ST (12.2013) - 1 ST (01.2014) = 0 ST. The order backlog in EUR (KF2) is 23.700,80 EUR (12.2013) - 22.370,80 EUR (01.2014) = 1.330 EUR. The Order and Invoice is finished, but we have an positive order backlog in EUR (reason: less turnover as incoming order).
For this case I want to realize the IF/Else statement to check if the oder backlog in ST = 0, if yes, than set the order backlog in EUR also to 0.
Any best practices?

I have tried your proposal before you have posted it.
In my special case the following if/else statement works successfully:
CKF = calculated key figure
Formula1 = (CKF1 == 0) * 0 + (CKF1 <> 0) * CKF2
In my case the CKF2 is the result value from "Incoming Order value" - "Turnover"
So I had to define a separate Formula (1:1 equals to CKF2) and then I was able to set "*CKF2" in the statement.
The statement CKF2 = (CKF1 == 0) * 0 + CKF2 is not possible (because it´s not possible to calculate from CKF2 itself).
Now it works

Displaying the result of the TOP N query

we are facing a challenging task were we are going to build a query that gives the answer on the question:
How many different materials (of the top sold) represent 80% of the total sales in quantity?
The result should of the query should be very short:

The query is build on a CO-PA based cube, where each line corresponds to a billing item with material and quantity.
By using a Top 80% condition on the quantity sold keyfigure we get out the top 80% materials sold:

We would like to supress the materials and only show the result row (or the raked position of the last material).
The problem is that the 'Calculate Single Value As' properties of a formula (or keyfigure) only applies on Displayed Data values. All tests we have done so far with 'supression of zeros' & 'always hide' has messed up or counting / ranking functions.
Is there any function in within formulas that have same functionality like Count,Rank etc?
Is there any other way to supress materials and only show results?

Create a query that gives the list of material that account for 80% of the sales using condition on the sales column.
In the second query, using exception aggregation, count the number of materials that make up this set for the year. Create a new calculated key figure with the formula as qual to sales key figure. In the properties window, press the enhance button and select count of all values in the first drop down and material in the second drop down. Filter the query on material with a characteristic variable with processing as replacement path. In the variable point it to the first query. Drilldown for this will be year.
This will give you number of materials for one year. If you want comparitive for three years, then three pre-queries and three variables with the calculated key figure restricted to a variable pointing to one years query.
You can use pre-calculated value sets to improve the run for the result query.

I have a Access 2007 DB file and 2 Big tables inside that (bigger than the size that can be easily handled by MS Excel 2007).
My requirement is automate using powershell scripts the below things.
1. Create a SQL query in Access DB and save that in access DB
2. Run the saved query and export the result in excel sheet where I can create the charts and Pivots. Thanks in advance

I have one report in which I am having one table and three Graphs. I have added table prompt for one column i.e department. In that I have given three values. The values of my table changes as per the table prompt. But my requirement is my graphs should show me the result as per the selection of departments in table prompt. Please give me the solution for the same.
Hi,
Create a event channel the table view and refer the same channel name in the graph properties.
Edit Graph --> Edit properties --> Enable Master-Details Events --> Give the channel name.
It will work for the selection of table .

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.
