FTP Remote Archive Filename
Hi,
I have built an SOA composite application to FTP files from destination A to B.
I now need to archive the files in an 'Archive' directory on the remote server I am retrieving the files from (destination A).
I have got this to workin using the JCA property:
<property name="UseRemoteArchive" value="true"/>
The only problem is that the filename does not stay as it was, and the file that ends up in the 'Archive' directory, and is now proceeded by a long string and date.
i.e the original file looks like: File_test.zip
File in Archive: File_test.zip_MjtpGjgGRkfe5j6NVBQgORwsHRa628nysAIMbTeIYqo=_20120423_163128_0485
Is there anyway to control the name of the file being archived?
Any input appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie
Hi Jamie,
There isn't much customization possible on the archive file naming. However, I've put my knowledge in this post. See if it helps.

FTP sender channel filename issue
Hi ,
I have created a sender FTP channel with Filename Smart_*.csv.
But channel is not picking files from FTP server, even not working for *.csv.
Although when I have mentioned the complete filename in channel, its picking the file from server.
Please guide.
Thanks & Regards,

Strange...I was searching SDN and found these two links describing the same issue which u are facing now...You can try to implement Mugdha's reply and see if it works?

How to include partner number dynamically in the archive filename ?
Hi,
I am working on IDOC archiving. Since we have a lots of IDOCs with the same Master IDOC name but coming from different partners, it would make sense to generate as much archive files as there are different partners.
I have seen that the archive filename is dynamically built with concatenation of parameters.
I guess we could use the filename_exit function module to set a parameter to the value of the partner number, but how to get the partner number ?Welcome to SDN.
check out this weblog.

Other thing is , I have streams working in other servers, its only with this particular server , I am not able to replicate, Let me know if you guys need any other information.
Thanks,
KrishnaHi Krishna,
The slowness may caused by:
1. Operating System. Please keep track of OS usage (like iostat).
2. Network. Please keep track network flow (like tcpdump).
Note: Please don't use SYNC log transport mode across a wide area network (WAN) with latencies above 10ms.

RaghuHi Raghu,
Check your set value for log_archive_format .
Make sure the format has %s (sequence#)and %t (thread #) , capitalize them and the format will be padded to the left with zeros.

Change log archive format to small(s) *%s* instead of *%S*
%S Specifies the log sequence number. This number is padded to the left by
zeroes. The default value is one with a range of up to five characters.
%s Specifies the log sequence number. The number is not padded. The default
value is one with no range limit on characters. also refer this link http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/initparams103.htm -

AndreaIf you are getting connection refused, either the server isn't listening on the port you have specified or there is a firewall intervening.
Can you connect to the database using any other MSSQL client tools (query analyzer for instance?) If so, make sure the setting you have there are the same in sqldeveloper. -
FTP Adaptert - Junk Filename is created in archive folder
Hi All,
Junk filename is getting created in archive directory.
I have one ftp adapter,after the file is getting processed the file's are getting moved to archive directory.
But with some different Junk file name suffiffed with timestamp/ filename are randomly generated. But the content of the file remains the same.
Pls suggest me as to how to retain the same file name while archiving.
Thanks & Regards
NithyaAre you on 10.1.3.3, there is a bug 6414848 which encrypts the file name. There is a stand alone patch of the same name (6414848)
It is also part of 10.1.3.4, or any MLR patch greater than MLR#6 for 10.1.3.3
Depending on your project I would recommend upgrading to 10.1.3.4 and apply the latest MLR patch MLR#6 (8279781) if you apply the MLR patch make sure you apply the one off patch 8416391 as well as there is a know issue around memory.
If this is not possible I would apply the latest 10.1.3.3 MLR patch MLR#17 (7375080) if you apply the MLR patch make sure you apply the one off patch 8416391 as well as there is a know issue around memory.
If this in not possible then just apply the one off patch 6414848

FTP Adapter setting filename at runtime not working
Hi,
I am facing an issue SOA 11.1.1.5 with FTP Adapter setting the filename at runtime. I have a process that reads a file from local server and puts it over to a remote FTP Server.
I want to use the same filename that is picked up locally and placed on the ftp location. Below is the snippet of FTP Invoke and the filename is read from a variable which is set before the invoke
<invoke name="Invoke_PutFile"
inputVariable="Invoke_PutFile_PutFile_InputVariable"
partnerLink="PutFile" portType="ns2:PutFile_ptt"
operation="PutFile" bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no">
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.TargetFileName" variable="targetFileName"/>
</invoke>
Here is the FTP jca file snippet
<endpoint-interaction portType="PutFile_ptt" operation="PutFile">
<interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.outbound.FTPInteractionSpec">

<property name="Append" value="false"/>
<property name="TargetFileName" value="setAtRunTime"/>
<property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
</interaction-spec>
</endpoint-interaction>
But when I test I am getting an error, it's complaining Cannot set JCA WSDL Property. Error while setting JCA WSDL Property. Property setTargetFileName is not defined for oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.outbound.FTPInteractionSpec Please verify the spelling of the property. ".

If I use *<property name="FileNamingConvention" value="%yyMMddHHmmssSS%_%SEQ%.txt"/>* inside the jca file it works but I want to use the filename at runtime and be the same name as it's picked up.
Any idea what I am doing wrong.

Need Help on FTP Adapter Archival Process
Hi Guru's,
I implemented FTP Adapter for Inbound Operation to read the file from inbound directory and after reading the file should be archived in Archival Directory and Delete the file from directory from inbound directory.
In my case file is successfully picked from inbound directory and records inserted in to database table. File is not Archiving in Archival Folder and File deleted from Inbound Directory. Here I need to Archive the files in Archival Folder.
Thanks in Advance
Could you please help me in this regard and Please provide pointers to me<property name="UseRemoteArchive" value="true"/>
Set this property to "true" to notify the Oracle FTP Adapter that the archival directory is on the same FTP server. If set to "false", the Oracle FTP Adapter uses a local file system folder for archival.

Does anyone have experience with this issue when connecting to a Linux FTP Web Server running a FTP Site?
"Connection Error - Failure to get file list from server. An entry with the same key already exists."
I cannot access the root directory of the ftp file server using Web Matrix 3. The site is .php based, and
is accessible when connecting with FileZilla or Remote Connecting via FTP with Visual Studio.
All sites have been deleted from Web Matrix, the user Application Data has been cleared and Web Matrix has been reinstalled.
Issue Persists....
Thanks in advance,
JustinTurns out that the program leaves metadata in your app data folder that is not removed upon uninstallation of the software.
This is incorporated to communicate with a file that uploaded into the ftp directory when publishing pages. -
Sender FTP Adapter - Archive faulty files not working
Hello,
We are on SAP PI 7.11 SP 06
We have a scenario where we are reading CSV files from a FTP location.
File Sender Adapter is polling the FTP location for CSV files, if there
is any error during FCC we need to move the faulty file under a
particular directory on FTP server.
Archive faulty files tick is click under the communication channel and
also the required directory is specified, but the functionality is not
working.
If there is a faulty file it is just adding a rejected prefix to the
file and keeping the file in the polling directory. It is not moving
the file in the rejected directory specified in the communication
channel.
Thanks & Regards,
Rahul NawaleAre you trying to archive the file on the same FTP server or a different FTP server? Archiving the faulty file on the FTP server might not have expected results. And if you are trying to archive the file on a separate FTP server, it wouldn't probably be achieved using the simple file adapter functionalities.
The best way would be to archive the faulty files to an NFS location on your PI server (this will certainly work, even if it's FTP mode) and then use a separate script or PI interface (file tunneling) to move these files from PI server File System to FTP archive location.

Sender FILE/FTP adapter and filename
Hi,
I want to send a file with FTP and use the function APPEND.
Is it possible to construct a unique filename, because the option "Add message ID" is not available when you choose APPEND.
(I'm on SP9 but we want to patch op to 12 on a short notice)
RonHello,
You can create your own file name with SP12, see this weblog :
/people/jayakrishnan.nair/blog/2005/06/20/dynamic-file-name-using-xi-30-sp12-part--i
Perhaps you can use add Timestamp to create unique file name !
