Ftp-Zugang beim CS6

Danke

If you still have access to the old computer, have a look here http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2011/11/backing-up-and-restoring-dreamweaver-site-defin itions.html.
If not, then you will have to do a site setup for each of your sites.

  • Bad FTP in Dreamweaver CS6

The FTP in Dreamweaver CS6 is really bad and that's mildly said. Actually: it sucks. When will there be a solution? I am a user since the early days of Macromedia and it is never fixed. This article describes the problem perfectly: http://b.smpl.st/2012/08/dear-adobe-dreamweavers-ftp-sucks/

What specifically have you tried to get your FTP up and running?
I'm with Murray on this. I use DW's FTP pretty much exclusively, regularly uploading to several different servers from several different networks and I've never had an issue with the program itself. Any FTP problems I've had, aside from goofed up FTP setting caused by operator error, have come from external sources like bad routers, wonky server settings, lost permissions, insane company firewall settings, etc.
I'm pretty sure with a little digging the folks here can help get your FTP running smoothly.

  • Define version control settings ftp in dreamweaver cs6 from cs4

My ftp in dreamweaver cs6 is telling me I need to define version  control settings before it allows me to update or get into files on server. Can someone tell me how I would define version control in dreamweaver cs6 please? Thanks

I was able to get around this by turning off the "Use FTP performance optimization" option under the Site>Server>Basic>More Options area.

  • Working directly off FTP server in CS6

I just migrated from CS3 to CS6 and will be a cloud subscriber as of tomorrow I guess with it's launch, assuming it does launch on time.
I'm going to preface and say that I admit that my workflow is not the most ideal and is more commando than it should be but it IS my workflow.
In the case of a new client, completely new site (just for example but I would be similar on a live existing site):
In CS3 I would set up a new site and choose FTP, pop in all the credentials and info. I would then connect. I will have already set up the CMS we use and I could mass upload any other files I needed using Filezilla. I would then use CS3 Dreamweaver to just work on the files directly off FTP. I know behind the scenes it was downloading the files to some kind of temp / cache folder but I didn't care, ultimately when I hit save, it would automatically put the file up on the server.
In CS6 it seems like I have to bring the files down off FTP to a local folder of my choosing, then make my changes, then save, but that's only a local save. So I have to manually click Put to put the file back up on the server. I'm not seeing in the settings something that says roughly "don't bother saving locally, just put them up on the server."
I work in a team of all of 2 people, we hardly ever bump into each other working on the same site so all the check in check out nonsense is not required for us. Is there any way I can set CS6 to behave more like CS3 in that regard? I really don't need to choose a local directly to bring files down once they are on the server. Our server has like umpteen layers of backups and redundancy, having the files locally does me no good at all and just eats up space. Even when working on existing sites, I'm not so worried about being commando and doing things on a live site. I just want my workflow back
    Thanks!

As far as going commando it's been debated a long time.  So my suggestion there is to file a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
WIth the upload on saving, that feature is in the Site definition.  Go to the Remote definition that you setup and click on the Advanced tab.  You can set DW to automatically upload on save there.

  • DW V12 Build 5861 - Unable to FTP - Windows 8 - CS6

I was using CS3 and felt it was time to upgrade to CS6.  I should have thought a little harder about it, so here I am.
I'm running Windows 8 - which I was told works with CS6 - and just trying to update one page on a website.  I use the "put" function, and it appears to be processing, but essentially it does nothing.  No matter which configuration I use - with/without IPv6, passive FTP or performance optimization - it doesn't matter.  None work whether those boxes are checked or not.
Remote servers properly configured with host.
I am not an expert, so please easy on the tech-speak.
Any solutions out there?  The Live Chat refuses to help.

Have you verified, via 3rd party software, that your credentials function correctly?
Try downloading the Filezilla Client and see if you can upload through that, it may just be that your credentials are goofed up at the host level.

EDIT: If it works in FZ, you can at least have an updated and fully functional web site while others here and at Adobe try to find the root of your problem.

  • Has Adobe fixed FTP in Dreamweaver CS6?

Has Adobe fixed the many FTP issues that plagued Dreamweaver CS6?
I have researched but all I find are lots and lots of unresolved issues with FTP. We absolutely need FTP to function properly. We cannot upgrade to DW CS 6 if CS 6 still breaks FTP.
Currently we are using DW CS 5.5 on Windows 7 Enterprise.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
it's well known, that  In all these cases you describe  I'm not a friend of a detailed troubleshooting. To be able to be independent in all this things It is one of the reasons why I prefer an external FTP program. The difficulties with which you have to fight encourage me in this opinion, not least because we always search for experts, we don't charge a "jack of all trades".
To manage several websites or to upload my files and sometimes for the opposite way, for a necessary download from my server or to use a "a site-wide synch", I'm using FileZilla. It simply looks easier for me to keep track of all operations precisely and generate or reflect easily the desired tree structure.
Above all, FileZilla has a feature (translation from my German FileZilla) called "compare file list". Here it's possible to use file size or modification time as a criterion. There is also the possibility to "hide identical files", so that only these files which you want to redact remain visible.
And even if it means you have to install a new program, I am convinced that there is an advantage. Here is the link to get it and where you can read informations about how it works:
    http://filezilla-project.org/ and http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Tutorial#Using_the_site_manager
Of course, you also need all the access data to reach your server and for MIME issues, you should contact your web host/provider.
    Good luck!
    Hans-Günter
    P.S.
Since I use two screens, the whole thing became even more comfortable.

  • FTP SERVER OR CS6?

How do I remove all remote server files on dreamweaver?
I did it manually on the FTP website that I host it off (Parallel Plesk) but when I try and remove them on dreamweaver just keep on getting error messages e.g. (file not located/ no permissions) so is this a dreamweaver prob or plesk?..
    (I suck at explaining)
If anything the remote file seems cached.
    HELP

It might be a LINUX permissions issue. The FTP user may not have such permission.
I don't use PLESK, but certainly you can see ownership and permissions in PLESK.

  • Why is there no window for editing remote FTP info in CS6?

I need to edit my username, password, etc. in an existing site. However when I go to Manage Sites, then click on the Edit button under the window that shows all my sites, then go to Servers, all I get is "Here you'll select the server that host's your pages on the web... " THAT'S IT! Why? How do I get to the window where I can edit my FTP info?

Site > Manage Sites > YourSiteName > Click the pencil icon to edit that definition.
    See Screenshot below.
Click on Servers.   Select the definition you want to edit and click on the pencil icon.

  • Am having trouble connecting to remote site via FTP in DW CS6

It is asking for a SERVER NAME... What is that supposed to be ?? [First line in remote connection setup]

Did you define your site in DW yet?
Site > New Site or Manage Sites...
Your hosting provider sent you log-in credentials when you signed-up for hosting.  Refer to that e-mail for the correct info to enter under Servers.   See screenshot.

    "http://www.caeiro-portit.it" con Tiscali.it

    eventuali sugerimenti.

    Hi adrianop87488997,
Thank you for your clear explanation of the problem you're running into with ExportPDF. For starters, please make sure that you're choosing the correct language for Optical Character Recognition (OCR). But, that said, I would be interested in learning more about the PDF file you're converting. Please choose File > Properties and check the PDF Producer listed on the Description tab. If the PDF was created by a third-party (anybody other than Adobe), it may not be written to spec, which can affect the quality of the conversion. Please see Support Policy for PDF Files created by non Adobe applications.

Need help. The German language aloud us to us "Umlaute" like "ü" or "ä". My Website-Name has one of these Umlaute. When I use iWeb to create my website, i can not configure the upload, because I can not use/write an Umlaut in the Website-URL.
It will be fine, if somebody helps me. Thanks.

I don't think that it's a good idea to have ü or ä in an URL. If somebody paste your URL in a forum or in a website, many of these links will be broken. I'm french, I have some trouble with é, à, è, ê, û ... I choose not to use them. I am saddened to see that for the web we have languages of barbarians.

  • OT/PHP: Kein Zugriff auf per PHP erzeugten Ordner?

    Ahoi!
    anderen Servern funktionierenden) Dateiuploadskript.
keine Daten hineinschieben ("Upload command failed").

    FTP-Zugang.
PHP-Doku "Note: The current user is the user under which PHP
    runs. It is
probably not the same user you use for normal shell or FTP
    access. The
mode can be changed only by user who owns the file on most
    systems."
Gibt Dir chmod('xyz', 0777) auch wirklich TRUE zurück?
    Schonmal mit
    http://de3.php.net/chown
    versucht?
    Viele Grüße

  • How do I stop DW CS6 randomly changing file permissions via FTP?

How do I stop Dreamweaver CS6 12.0.1.5842 randomly changing file permissions when it uploads files to my web server via FTP.
I can no longer trust Dreamweaver to upload websites correctly as it changes permissions on some files which then deny the server access to the file which in turn makes the webpage unreachable/return a 403 error.
    This is driving me insane.
I'm using an early 2011 Macbook Pro 10.7.5.

    Hi,
I'm having this problem too. Has Adobe fixed the issue yet? This appears to be an Adobe problem, not all the web hosts out there. CS6 is ramdomly (meaning: not every time) changing permissions on files uploaded with it and is not usable for web work until this problem is fixed by Adobe or a solution is provided. If I wanted to use a separate FTP program I would not have recommended that my employer buy multiple Adobe CS6 product licenses. One of the primary appeals of DW is the integration of FTP into the workflow.
I am using a destop iMac2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 gigs of 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
    OSX 10.7.5
I am using DW Version 12 Build: 5808
Dreamweaver CS4 that I was using until this new purchase was working just fine. No file permisssion changes. I am being forced to go back to using it until Adobe posts a fix for this.
I should ask while I'm here: has anyone found a solution for this yet?
    Thanks,
    -c-
