FTPS -Bad certificate error

Hi
I am sending a file from SAP PI 7.0 to file server through FTP-S.
The SSL certificate and private key, password is installed as per sap in PI 7.0.
I am getting below error -
boldUnable to create new pooled resource: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: bad certificate.
Any solution ..
Thanks in advance.

He,
check you installed the certificates properly or not,may be this could be the one reason i guess.

  • SSL and BEA-090482 (BAD Certificate)

    Hi All,
I am trying to get self-signed certificates to work with the keytool and I have followed just about every instruction to get everything to work. But no matter what I try I keep getting the BAD CERTIFICATE error. My Setup is the following:
    - I have Oracle Enterprise Linux (5.8) installed
    - I have Weblogic 10.3.4.0 installed
    - I start nodemanger through wlst
    - I have 1 weblogic installation with 3 domains and each domain has it's own IP address (virtual IP adresses).
For 1 SOA Server (soa_server1) I want to enable SSL so here's wat I did:
    1. I use the keytool to create identity.jks (keytool -genkey -alias mycert -keyalg RSA -keypass weblogic1 -keystore identity.jks -storepass weblogic1 -validity 365)
    2. I export the certificate (keytool -export -alias mycert -file root.cer -keystore identity.jks -storepass weblogic1)
    3. I import the certificate into trust.jks (keytool -import -alias mycert -trustcacerts -file root.cer -keystore trust.jks -storepass weblogic1)
    4. I setup Weblogic (tab keystores) with the appropriate setting (identity.jks and trust.jks)
    5. I setup Weblogic (tab SSL) with a private key alias and it's password
    6. I enable SSL in Weblogic
Our servername = MYSRV005 and our domain name = yyy.lan
When going to the AdminServer each domain can be reached by it's own name (for example test.yyy.lan etc.)
I have configured our listen-address for our soa_server1 for test.yyy.lan
I have set our certificate common name to test.yyy.lan
My nodemanager runs on localhost (I can start any server from our AdminServer console)
We disabled hostname verification in startWeblogic.sh, startNodeManager.sh and in the soa_server1 console
    I even added CertGenCa.der into our trust.jks (keytool -import -alias mycert-trustcacerts -file “<location of CertGenCA.der>” -keystore trust.jks)
No matter what I try, I keep getting BEA-090482 (BAD Certificate .....).
I hope someone can help me out on this issue. I've been at it for 2 days now and still can't solve the problem. Are there any other things I have to be thinking of?
    Thanks for any help. :)

    Well,
Once again I solved my problem. Am not sure what I did, but it seems that switching to the java utils.CertGen utility did the trick. That way certificates will get signed with the CertGenCA.der certificate. However I am not entirely sure this was our problem since I have changed so many settings in the last couple of days. Noticed that the keytool doesn't change the issuer and the issuer will be the same as what you fill out. Wonder why everyt tut on the net used the keytool while that wasn't working for us. :( Guess I have to dive into that. :)

  • Army Bad Certificates

I'm relatively new to the army and I'm still unable to log in to any of the DoD websites from my MacBook Pro (AKO, LMS, MyPay, etc.). I've purchased a CAC reader, I've downloaded the software but no matter what I do and which browser I use I just get a sea of 'bad certificate' errors. There are over 2 million AKO users, is their only option to use a PC? This seems ridiculous but I can't find any information that states otherwise. I'm at the point now where I need to complete online training to get promoted and my only options are to purchase Windows and run it in bootcamp or entirely switch to a Windows machine. I'm in the market for a second computer and right now it seems like staying on a Mac will actually hinder my career. Is there anyone out there who's had similar successes or failures? I have about a half dozen coworkers who also use Mac and their solution is, rather non-technically, stay at work and complete the required training in the office after hours.
    details:
    MacPro 13" mid 2012
    OSX Yosemite 10.10.2
Up to date Flash and Java
IOGEAR CAC Reader and Centrify smart card support software
    Errors:
    Chrome: 'ERR_BAD_SSL_CLIENT_AUTH_CERT'
    Firefox: 'Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_alert'
Safari gives me no error, the page just never loads.

You need a client-side SSL certificate to get into those sites. Merely installing a CAC reader isn't enough.

    Hi,
I had come up with this issue twice, once I download WL from a server from Asia, and had this issue. I just download once again from the server at US, and the issue was gone. The second time it was a weird anti virus configuration that tried to scan the file while the installation was taking place (I do not think this last one applies here.)

  • Content-Type is net being set in HTTP header. Server returns 400 Bad Request error.

    Hi,
I am trying to access an XML WebService. This service requires the content type of the request to be set to "text/xml". As you can see in the source code, I am setting the req.ContentType property to "text/xml".
However, this content type seems not to be added to the HTTP headers. The server returns a 400 Bad Request error as can be seen in the log.
I've attached a System.Net.trace log and it states:

  • SOAP receiver via HTTPS leads to Alert Fatal: bad certificate

    Hello everybody,
I working on a scenario where i have to send a message out via https to a partner.
The server requires a client certificate which is installed and configured.
When I now send out some data I get the following error:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: bad certificate: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: bad certificate
The partner told me that I also have to install the server certificate. Is this correct? I thought it is not neccessary to install the certificate from Server, is it?
    Regards,
    Thomas

    Hi,
You would need to load the SSL certificate of your customer if it is a self signed certificate in the TrsutedCA's view in your Visual Admin.
The request is being rejected by XI as the https connection is bot being established as the certificate is not present in the Trusted CA's.
    Regards,
    Bhavesh

  • Certificate error using webauth on guest wifi

I am trying to setup a guest wifi.  We have our custom page package loaded and it looks great with our graphics, logo.  Basically you have to check a box and click accept to the terms of service, and then it forwards you through to VLAN 12 in this case, which is directed to an untangle software based firewall / router with its own outside IP address.
The issue is that when you initially join the wireless network, the page at 1.1.1.1/login.htm throws a certificate error and you have to continue anyway (Internet Explorers language).
Does this mean we need to put our wildcard certificate on it for our *.domain.com (GoDaddy signed) or does it need another kind of certificate?  What format would it need to be in (I have a pfx but can convert it if need be).
We are not passing any credentials, so it doesn't NEED to be https, so under Management > HTTP-HTTPS I changed WebAuth SecureWeb to Disabled.  However when doing this, WebAuth is still putting https://1.1.1.1 and I get a page cannot be displayed. I  take the s out of https and then the webauth page works.
So two things here, how could I just use it in http, or if preferred, what format and what kind of certificate needs to make https work in webauth?  This is primarily for vendors that visit, or guests in our waiting lobby with their tablets or smartphones.
    The WLC is a 5508 running 7.4.121.0.

I also tried this site as well:
    http://www.packethead.net/2013/08/05/cisco-wlc-wireless-lan-controller-certificate-install-mac-os-x/
I tried it command line, and it tftp's fine in all instances above but I get:
    TFTP Webauth cert transfer starting.
    TFTP receive complete... Installing Certificate.
    Error installing certificate.
Might have to open a case with tac if this doesn't work.
I have openssl 1.0.1j is that maybe a bad version? also every time I run it it says WARNING: can't open config file: /usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf
Well of course not, that is a *nix based bath and this is the 64-bit windows version.
What I can get is a download from go daddy and the wildcard cert is already generated.  I cannot submit a new cert request.  We have this key and I've tried different ways of converting it with OpenSSL, I've imported it to windows and in the mmc for certificates exported in various formats.  Nothing will work with this WLC.

  • Sudden Certificate Error

I've used version 4.0.1 of the Email app for the past couple of years to access my secure IMAP server. About a week ago, attempting to connect resulted in a certificate warning error due to a mismatched hostname. The host is a real one, but not one that has anything to do with my IMAP provider.
The IMAP provider says this server's certificate is fine. Other clients (Thunderbird, Apple Mail) do not show this warning. A web-based SSL checker (e.g., https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html) does not show the bad hostname at all.
If I install another e-mail client (e.g., K9), it also shows the bad hostname in the certificate. Basically, any e-mail client on the phone shows this certificate error.
The hostname error still occurs after I clear credentials in Settings. The IMAP server resolves to the same IP address as on my other computer (on which e-mail still works), so I'm still trying to connect to the right server.
Is there any malware which could hijack an IMAP SSL session to insert a bad cert?
Short of wiping the phone and starting over, does anyone have advice how to figure out what's going on here?

If the nslookup fails you do have a DNS issue.
As SSL never was properly standardized in a proper RFC there is a little bit of wiggle room on the details in different implementations. It is clear that the SSL stack should do some kind of server identity checking but the exact method is not defined. (for example check the "server identity" section in RFC 2818.)
It might be that the SSL stack gets the server name parameter from some header field rather than through a reverse lookup. Common in the HTTP case and I guess you could do the same on the LDAP connection string. A little less secure but a lot more straightforward.
I would recommend opening an SR with Oracle and ask them how the server identity checking is implemented. You also really need the sniff to figure out what is going on.
My guess is that someone played around with the DNS records of your production AD machine without informing you.
    Good luck
    /M

  • Firefox shows an unknown certificate error while Chrome does not for same site

On a site at which Credit Card payment info is shown, Firefox is reporting a certificate error while Chrome does not. Prefer to use FF but need to know if warning is right or not. Have cleared the cache and still get the warning. This is new to FF as we've used it on this site for several years.

    HI khetheri,
In order to better test the certificate may we request the certificate without the private keys? I have some backup from the security team if this is possible.
There is a temporary work around as well but I don't recommend turning on all certificates to make sure it is not a compatibility error(ish)
It is possible to check if it is being detected as a bad certificate in Firefox itself to eliminate compatibility issues.
    # In the [[Location bar autocomplete|Location bar]], type '''about:config''' and press '''Enter'''. The about:config "''This might void your warranty!''" warning page may appear.
    # Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''', to continue to the about:config page.
    # Search for '''browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert ''' and set it to true to try the certificate normally.
    Looking forward to your reply!

  • SAP Fiori Client on Mobile gives a certificate error

    Hi ,
When i try to open the SAP Fiori  Client App on my android mobile it gives a Certificate Error as seen in the below screenshot. To use the app I connect to the VPN so that the app is connected to the appopriate server. My android version is 4.2.2.
What may be the possible solution to the issue being faced?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Benita

    Hi,
The methods mentioned in the other thread is not a solution, at best a workaround. It stops the automatic redirect from port 80 to 443 or stop forcing SSL for the authentication page, which is a bad idea. No network admin will allow that.
The problem you are facing is most probably due to self signed certificate used in the GW server for SSL purpose. SAP Fiori Client does not support self-signed certificate.
Please ask the admin to use a certificate from a public CA which should solve the problem.
    Cheers,
    Subhra

We resolved this problem for the same version of JDeveloper in the WebLogic Console. In the Domain Structure / Evironment / Servers / Settings for Default Server, click the Configuration and SSL tabs. Then change Hostname Verification to None and check the Use JSSE SSL box at the bottom.

  • How do I remove the certificat error everytime I try to access the Cisco Unified CM Administration web-page?

    Hi,
Every time I want to have access to the Cisco Unified CM Console (System version: 7.0.1.11000-2), I use the https://10.10.x.x/ccmadmin/showHome.do homepage on my client computer, but when I open the page, I get a SSL certificate error, stating no trust to this webpage security certificate and if I those "continue to this page (not recommended)", I get access to the Cisco Unified CM Console web page.
I have tried to add the https://IP-adress to secure web pages in Internet Explorer 7, but this to no avail, it does not help.
How do I add this certificate to a trusted something, so I do not get this warning every time I open the page?
    Kind regards,
    Carl-Marius

    Hi Michael,
It worked when I change the IP-address to the name that was written in the certificate, and imported the certificate to Internet Explorer.
Thank you for your fast and very precise help!
    Kind regards,
    Carl-Marius

I tried to set the Outlook Anywhere, and so i messed up something. Now if user open outlook and send / or reply a mail got a certificate error message. I don't care Outlook Anyhere anymore but i need to fix my issue...
I have not enough reputation point, so i can't attach image. I used Snag to attach picture.
    Certification error message:
This is how exchange certs looks like:
The problem is occure when start outlook and start or reply a mail. Certfication error pop-up, and inside the message windows on the Certification Chain tab i see: "mydomain".local
When i try to configure outlook anywhere i create and enable new certificate. I think when i did this i have to allow owerrite some service... I deleted that certification already.
If i install the cert to root CA, then works ok. But i don't want to install it all our server, because its workd earlier. How can i fix this?
    Thank you

    Hello,
First of all thank you for helpin' me.
I do not want to use outlook anywhere anymore, but now i know need 3rd certf for work...
Only i want to get back everything.
I know if i install to root CA than pop up disappear (i test this one of our server) but because earlier we have no installed this cert...so i don't understand what should i did...
      1. i installed a new self-sign certificate and associate service SMTP for it.
      2. after all test failed i decided to delete this cert...
      3. now outlook get pop up with certificated issued by: ourcompany.local
                 - i did not seen any certificate in the certificate store with this name...
Now i test it again and the no pop up in outlook?! What happend? I check and the mentioned certificate not in the store?!
If i delete a certificate and assign service to another one, how many time need to affect this to the enviroment?
    Thank you

  • SSL Offloading and Certificate Errors

I am attempting to offload SSL on an F5 load balancer.  I made the certificate request from the load balancer, procured the certificate from Entrust, and installed on the load balancer.  I then followed SSL Offloading TechNet instructions here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn635115(v=exchg.150).aspx.  My two CAS servers still have the self-signed certificates bound in IIS.  I am getting certificate
errors when making RPC over HTTPs connections in Outlook and the self-signed certificate is popping up.
My question is what do I do with the certificates on my 2 CAS servers?  Do I leave the self-signed certificates on there and export the Entrust certificate from my F5 and then import it to my CAS servers and change the bindings in IIS?
Or do I have to make the CSR from a CAS server, issue a new Entrust certificate from that, import to both CAS servers, then import to the F5 and make sure all bindings are correct in IIS?
Or am I completely misunderstanding how this works and need to do something different entirely?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

As I previously mentioned, I have already followed the SSL Offloading guide from technet, which included unticking Require SSL for all the various objects in IIS (OWA, ECP, EWS, RPC etc.)
Additionally I made sure SSL Offloading was enabled for Outlook Anywhere in Powershell.  See for example output of Get-OutlookAnywhere:
