Full Barcode nr in C#

HelloI am working on a application for the Intermec CK31. The application is written in C#. I am using the "BarcodeReader" class to capture the scan event. This works fine.I am using barcodes like (01)95400112034494(3102)001600(251)04047695869. When i look in to the BarcodeReadEventArgs i see my barcode number but my ( ) symbols are gone.Is there a way to receive the full barcode nr including the () symbols ?RegardsDieter

Have a try on this c# code 128 barcode control, which may support the () symbols display. The control and lib mentioned there is for desktop only, I cant find any reference to Compact Framework. Even if there would be NET CF support, it is a lib to decode Images (worse approach on a device with a hardware barcode scanner inside). The (x) numbers in the human readable part of a Code-128 barcode are NOT part of the barcode data. The barcode data has to conform to EAN-128 standard and includes control chars like FNC1 (0x1D) to seprate fields. The meaning on the fields depends on the data in the barcode. For example there may be (hypotetical) a sequence of <FNC1>2xxxxx, that will then mark the following data as product code. The structure and meanings of the data is defined by the EAN-128 consortium. ~J
You means this C# barcode reader, not only code 128 can be decoded, but also EAN 128 and other barcode types.

  • Avery Barcode labels does not align properly when printed from Adobe Reader 11.0.0

    Hi,
I have barcode labels in a PDF (Version 1.4, Acrobat 5.x). PDF producer is PPAlambic(Distiller). When I try to print the PDF on to Avery 5160 sheet containing 30 labels (10 rows; 3 labels in a row), always the barcodes on the first column goes beyond the left margins and hence does not print the full barcode. PDF size is 8.5" * 11" .I have tried following options in Print dialog box:
    1. Actual Size + Portrait + Letter size
    2. Shrink oversized pages + Portrait + Letter size
    3. Fit + Portrait + Letter size
None of the above options resolved my issue.
When I open the same PDF in Adobe Reader 11.0.07, it prints perfectly. Does someone help me understand if this is a known defect in Adobe 11.0.0 and is there any workaround in 11.0.0 itself to adjust the alignment?
Note: PDF is not editable as it comes from a third party vendor. Please help.

  • Project Help Needed

    Version of InDesign: CS6
Note: I am a beginner, I have not been trained in any Adobe products, I am not familiar with the tech lingo
I work for a business where we have started using InDesign to create personalized labels for products. I created a file with a simple master page at dimensions of  4" x 3" with the desired template for the label. I then create new masters based on the first one I made and then edit the layers as needed. I have four base files with about 200 'product specific' master pages in each. I have to copy these files over about 12 times to create customer-specific labels with logos, retails, etc. That comes to about 10,000 labels total.
The problem is, I have to print these labels off on sheets of paper with 6 labels on each page. Does anyone know of a way I can print the single label master pages off at 6 to a page?
One other solution is to create a new master page "template" with six label designs to a page, which would be very simple to print off. But then the files would be a lot bigger (my computer won't like that) and (I  assume) I would have to bring the information over to the new file by copying&pasting text/relinking images about 6 times for each label.
Does anyone have any ideas that would save me time? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

There is an excel formula that will calculate the check digit and create a field with the full barcode number. I haven't had to do this in years, so I no longer have it, but it should be easy enough to look up. If you are using the number to place the barcode graphic, you can also add the extension automatically in excel.
Just add a '@ before the column name of any column containing image names. If you put your datafile in the folder with the images, you won't have to put the image path.

a demo version of the barcode font.(IDAutomationSC128L).
I added it to the template . and registered the font in XMl publisher and ran the whole process
which generates the report output. The report gave me a output as per the

    Please help.
Is there any stpes that i am missing.
    Thanks,
    Nisha

    Hi Nisha
If you are using a code 128 barcode font then you need to call an encoding class to transform the input, delivery_id from say '123456789' to an encoded string string, say '!wrwr34353'
It looks like you are on the right track. Some thoughts:
    1. You say its a demo font - are there any limitations that IDAutomation has documented e.g. it will not handle certain characters in the barcode font?
    2. You should not really copy and paste from the documentation - that was an example class. IDAutomation, I know provides the java code algorithms to encode the data correctly for their fonts. That said the basic structure of the class is good to use you just need to plug IDAutomation's java code into it
    3. You get warnings, this should not prevent the .class file being generated.
    4. To test that the class is being called correctly. Change the font on your delivery field to a humanly readable font, say Arial. Now run the template against the data - you should see the encoded value for the delivery id in the output. If its the same as the data in the XML delivery_id element then your class is not being called correctly. this could be caused by:
    a. The class is not in the classpath for the publisher engine - from your directory path it looks like you are using EBS and you are putting it in the right place. Whats the field contents for the barcode vendor registration field?
    b. The class is not encoding the result correctly - to test this and c. you should add a 'main' method that you can call to test the class outside of EBS
    c. the class is erroring out somewhere - see above
If you are getting a barcode on your output then the font is in the right place. Are you testing in Template Builder or on the server? If the hardware is not reading it then I would suggest you check 1 and 2 above and then carry out step 4 to check its being encoded.
you might also check out this blof article on the encoding - http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/06/advanced_barcode_support.html

  • How can i display barcodes in scripts

    hi
experts can u help me for this

A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.
The next part of the equation can be a bit tricky as you will need to get a printer to print that barcode font. Regular laser printers does not normally print barcode fonts, only specialized industrial printers that is specifically designed to support that protocol and that uses specialized label media and heat transfer (resin) ribbon to create the sharp image required for barcodes.
Not to fear though, there are two ways to get around this:
    - You can have your IT department do some research -
most laser printers can accept a font cartridge/dimm chip (similar to computer memory), called a BarDIMM that will allow a laser printer to support the printing of barcodes.
    - Secondly, you can buy software that you can upload in your SAP print Server that will convert the barcode symbology as an image that will print on a regular laser printer. I found that this option results in less sharper barcodes. This option is really if you need to convert a large quantity of printers (>10) to support barcodes.
    - Thirdly, you can buy a third party software like Barcode.dll and install on your frontend PC connected to the laser printer.
To Create a Bar code prefix:
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
    <C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.

It will give an idea about barcode commands.

To create barcode go to transaction se73 Then System Bar codes.
There are some barcodes already present.
If they solve your purpose, use them otherwise create new ones.
The main characteristics of barcodes are
    1) Min. Char
    2)Max Char
    3)Width
    4)Height
Now in your sapscript create a character format.
There you can see an option to select barcode.
From there select the appropriate type.
Now use this character format for the field you want to display the barcode.

  • How do I generate a data merge in InDesign from an excel spreadsheet which includes a barcode

Can you please advise if the following process is possible within InDesign CS 5.5? (Mac OS 10.8.2).
We need to create a data merge that includes a barcode. The data merge is for several thousand records.
We have a customer-supplied Excel spreadsheet that contains seven fields, one of which is a number that ultimately needs to print as a barcode when we make the data merge in InDesign.
As you would expect, the conventional six fields data merge perfectly - but we can't find a way to make the barcode print correctly within the data merge.
We have investigated several possible solutions without success.
Some solutions suggest a plug-in for Excel to convert the number into a barcode whilst still in the spreadsheet - but this doesn't come across correctly when we import the CSV file into the InDesign data merge.
We have investigated certain third party software applications but none provide the full solution we require. Some, for example, appear to create the barcode within the Excel spreadsheet but don't produce the barcode correctly when we data merge in InDesign; and some will allow us to create a one-off barcode within InDesign but have no automated way of retrieving the thousands of Excel numbers and turning them into barcodes.
We have also come across possible 'font' solutions but have had no success with these either.
For a previous job we needed to produce we outsourced to a specialist mailing company, who assured us they produced the whole job (very quickly) within InDesign. They, understandably, won't tell us how they did it. But, given the speed with which they produced the job for us, we imagine - with the correct software - the whole process is easy to do.
    Can you please advise?

    HI MIKE
Thanks again for your reply and your help with this.
I've downloaded the barcode font from the link you supplied.
I've tried three tests - and seem much closer to getting what we need. But I've come up against a couple of issues.
TEST 1 - almost just to see if the downloaded font worked, I simply data merged our source csv file and applied the downloaded barcode font to the serial number in ID. Probably unsurprisingly, this produced a perfectly printed barcode - that wouldn't scan.
TEST 2 - I manually added asterisks before and after the serial number in the first couple of fields and then tried the same process as TEST 1. It produced a perfectly printed barcode which this time DID scan correctly - but obviously the barcode had asterisks on it which I don't want. I just want the serial number. And with thousands of serial numbers we need the addition of the asterisks to happen automatically (which is where your text editor process seems the perfect solution, if we could get that to work).
TEST 3 - Noting your comments about using parenthesis around the serial number, I followed your example of (123456). But Excel won't let me type a parenthesis. It lets me type the parenthesis but then instantly substitutes it with a - (hyphen) before the number in the actual serial number cell and no character at all after the number.
If you have any suggestions or solutions for any of the above they'd be gratefully received! Thanks again for all your help with this.
    Kind regards
    Rob

Is there any software in Adobe Creative Cloud which will let me generate barcodes?

    - Do I have 40 10-second clips each with 1.9 GB of unwanted video behind it??
Not to worry. When we Copy and Paste within a project, iMovie HD creates a new clip thumbnail for the Timeline/Clips pane, then simply adds a new pointer to the source video. The source material is not duplicated.
When you Copy a clip and Paste a clip to a DIFFERENT project then Yes, the clip's entire source video file is duplicated. (When Copying between projects, be sure to Copy and Paste all the clips together so iMovie duplicates the source files just one time.)
Next time, you might consider setting your iMovie 6 preferences to limit the length of imported clips to 3 minutes — or whatever duration you want. Then each imported clip will have its own source file. When you discard an entire clip its file will be discarded too, shrinking the size of the project.
If you have no need to preserve the clips as clips you could export the project to a Full Quality movie that you import to a new project. Everything will arrive as a single clip, which may be okay here. Then discard your old project. The project will be smaller, containing just the stuff on the Timeline.
If the Timeline contains most of the source material — just split into small clips — there may not be a lot of "extra" material in the project. To get an estimate of how large the Timeline really is, open the "Timeline Movie.mov" that's inside the Cache folder of the project in QuickTime Player. QT Player's Show Movie Info window will show the size of the material it represents.

  • How to print three different Barcodes in the same line

I am trying to print Barcodes for three different fields in a single line, it is taking the combined one & printing only one barcode for  all those three fields.
When I tested it by printing them in diff lines, it is working fine. But the requirement is to  print all fields in the same line

    Hi
Look at this , may be useful

    Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program

  • How to create a new BARCODE PREFIX   (for SAPScripts)

In SE73 transaction, we can create a NEW printer barcode. For this we require 'barcode prefix' .There are some SAP standard barcode prefixes(for eg.SBP01)...but I want to create a new barcode prefix..
Please let know how to create a new BARCODE PREFIX.
    SE73->Printer barcodes (radiobutton)->change->select one dev.type (dbl click)->create.
here we get a popup for the creation ..asking for BARCODE PREFIX which should be existing in TFO05 table...

    Hi ,
    Please follow following process
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create  request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
    Hope this helps

  • How can I generate a data merge that includes a barcode from excel spreadsheet to InDesign?

  • Barcode in pdf form, acroform

This is my question on the barcode, we are using a barcode font with start and end point charachters. However in case of a full name how to count for space between last name and first name.
We also know that special charachters can be used in place of space,  But the problem is when a barcode with special charachters is scanned, the special chrachters show up in place of space. Like John-doe rather than john doe!
does anyone know of some kind of script to take care of this?

In case someone else comes across this thread in the future, some fonts use the "=" character for a space, others the "~" character. So you have to find out what the particular font uses.
Also, if you want to include a check character, which is recommended, you'll have to use JavaScript to calculate it and add it to the string.

  • Barcode input display issue (high priority)

    hi,
I'm working on barcode program. Problem what i'm facing is when i scanned a barcode the data is not filling corresponding my module pool screen. My barcode is horizontal barcode.
My barcode data's are Bill no, Bill data, Po number, po data etc..
Bill number comes 10 character length and bill data 10 character length and Po no is 10 character length and po date is 10 character length. Once i scanned the barcode the data will fill first bill no properly and bill data accepting only 6 or 5 or three character and Po number is carrying only 5 or 7 or 8 character as simlar same as po data and others also. Some time will fill all the data properly.
This is more important to clear. Any one having any idea regarding this please help he.
    Regards,
    Bab

    Hi,
