Full database import and export

i performed full database export and want to perform full import please suggest me how to perform full import..
Oracle will change the data to the db characterset on import. This can be good or bad depending on what you have and what you want. So, what do you have and what do you want? Don't forget to check logs you should be keeping with these utilities. Edit: original exp/imp states the characterset in a log, expdp I guess you need to look at the 3rd line in the dump file. Don't edit dump files, if you are on unix you can use the strings command. It would help if you told us the exact version, patch set and platform you are on.

I tried to import objects and data from a user from a FULL dump file. File was created with the following command:
server is: SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Wed May 26 15:34:05 2010
exp full=y FILE="full.dmp" log=full.log
Now I imported:
imp file=full.dmp log=full.log INCTYPE=SYSTEM
imp fromuser=user1 file=full.dmp
Results: not all the user procedures have been imported:
SQL> select count(*) from user_procedures;
the Original
COUNT(*)
134
the current:
select count(*) from user_procedures;
COUNT(*)
18
I also tried these alternatives:
exp tablespaces="user1_data" FILE="user1.dmp" log=user1.log

So, I do not understand why user1 objects are not imported:

. importing SYS's objects into SYS

why only 18 rows?

I would like to know what is the syntax of using imp.exe and exp.exe to import and export the database table?
Could anyone teach me what is the syntax and how could do the export and import in the Forms?

Have you been able to follow the documentation and the examples provided? You mentioned on your other thread that you know how to do it in Windows. Well the same logic applies in Linux except maybe the path to your file and permissions.
Also, in the future please don't double post (even across forums). -
SQL Server 2012: Import and Export Wizard - Exporting Multiple Result Sets at Once?
I'm working in SQL Server 2012 trying to export some data from our database into an Excel file. My SQL statement has two separate Select statements. They are not joined by a union. When I Execute them inside of SQL Server Management Studio, with Results
set to go to a Grid, I get two result sets back. Two full tables of data.
However, when I use the Import and Export Wizard, the Excel sheet only has the first set of data.
What do I need to do to have it so both result sets show up in the excel file?Why cant use merge them using union/union all if intention is to get them to same sheet? Is it like the metadata is different so that they cant be merged to single sheet?
If that being the case you need to do it in two steps.

Full database backup and restore
I have a doubt on the syntax for a full database backup and restore. For a single schema, the syntax for backup & restore is :-
exp JISPREPCORBILLINGPRD501/JISPREPCORBILLINGPRD501 owner=JISPREPCORBILLINGPRD501 STATISTICS=none
log=JISPREPCORBILLINGPRD501_exp.log grants=y constraints=Y rows=y compress=N
file=JISPREPCORBILLINGPRD501
imp <userid/password> file=<export dump file location> fromuser=<export user name> touser=<import user name>
grants=y constraints=Y rows=y log=<import log file location>
I hope, my question is clear.

thanks, for your answer. I took a export of one schema of the database. But, when I tried to import the schema to the destination database, it showed
imported with errors with the existence of functions showing. The commands used by me for export and import are as follows:-

Oracle Import and Export Strategy

I have a senario of Oracle 8i Database migration, where an existing database need to be migrated to a new version with some additional tables, schema changes and new indexes and triggers. There are two ways in which the export import can be implemented first is a FULL DB Imp/Exp and second is TABLE wise. Kindly help me to choose a strategy. Will give you more information based on the discussion.

autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup”, we can know that the issue is caused by the there is no sufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY' for the ‘REPORTING’ database.
To fix this issue, we can add additional files to the filegroup by add a new file to the PRIMARY filegroup on Files page, or setting Autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup to increase the necessary space.

i am trying to export SQL data into excel to send out weekly reports. I have created a view and a SQL account has access to this view; however, I am unable to successfully export the data. In preview I see all of the data yet it fails on the

Import and export CRM catalogue
Hi,
I am neewbie in CRM.
I would like to export CRM catalogue, and then import it into other computer.
For example, I am in TEST environment... navigate into "COMM_PCAT_ADM" and select "SALES_CATALOGUE".
I would like to EXPORT "SALES_CATALOGUE" to other TEST environment in a different computer.
1.- How could I do this?
2.- Do I have to export and import the catalogue or just tables / programs?
3.- Do I need any other information to export and import? For example Materials...
4.- How do I export the catalogue? Software?

Import and Export MDL error with OWB Release 2
Getting the following error when importing and exporting MDL - any assist would be appreciated - never had this issue with previous releases - error as follows:
Error occurred exporting metadata to file "C:\TEMP\MY_PROJECT-20061208_1058.mdl".
java.lang.Exception: CNV0002-0038(ERROR): Cannot write to file ./../../reposasst/converter.properties. Please make sure that write privileges are enabled or that disk is not full.I got the solution. OWB writes some temporary xml files before importing/exporting mdl and these files are stored in OWB home directory. The problem is write privileges on the OWB Home directory. I am not local admin of my system. Admin installed the OWB client on my system through his userid. Now if i try to create a directory or file in OWB home directory it thorws an error "Access Denied". I got the Admin rights on my local system for my userid and now OWB is working fine.
