Full screen application on Mac Os Lion

Hi,
I am trying to develop a full screen application in AS3  / Air. This application must run on Mac Os X Lion plateform.
The fact is that when I launch the application on Lion , a start up window appear, then the application is going to full screen mode, but the launch window still appear in front of it.
This problem is for Lion only, as the application work well on Snow Leopard.
Here is the code i'am using :
Init of the app :
<s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                                xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                                xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
                                showStatusBar="false"
                                applicationComplete="init()"
                                width="100%" height="100%"
>
Public function to initiate full screen
public function init():void
// some stuff before, nothing to bother with full screen
      this.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN; // fullscreen --
Any clue to bring the full screen in front or to reduce the launch window ?
regards,
Taz

Hi there, i am usign Flex SDK 4.6 with Air 3.2 release candidate on OSX Lion 10.7.3 and i still have this problem too...
I did manage to find a workaround that work only with air 3.2 :
I wait for user mouse input before setting it to fullscreen and it works.
But i still can't make it go fullscreen automatically, it will be hidden by the app window.
One thing is weird, when i compile it in flash builder, i get this bug one time in 1000 compiles, but when it is installed as an air app on , it wont work at all.. unless i use the workaround stated earlier.
Thanks

  • Air application full screen error in Mac OSX 10.7 Lion

    Hi
We have an air application built using Flash Builder 4.5 with 4.5 SDK.
The air application no problem to run on Windows and Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leapard. However it has full screen issue on Mac OSX 10.7 Lion. When change to full screen mode, the whole screen disappear, press ESC and turn back to normal stage without any issue.
We then use Flash Builder 4.5 with SDK 4.6 to compile and release, install the air application to Lion OS but still no luck.
Air 3.1 installed on Lion OS
       Can some one please help?

    Is this still a problem?

  • How do I run two full screen applications on separate screens?

I have two screens for my MacBook Pro with Lion; the laptop screen and a stock screen hooked up by a VGA cable. Currently, when I use a full screen application, my second screen just changes to the grey fabric pattern. How do I run a full-screen application on each screen?

    Hi Jared,
Connect/turn on the external monitor. Open System Preferences on your MBP > Displays. There should be two windows, one for the external monitor and one for the MBP. Click on the window for the external monitor. Click on the Arrangement tab. Uncheck the box for Mirror Displays. This willallow you to set each display to its own resolution. On the external display, click on the pref window for the external monitor display setting. Click on Display. Set the resolution to what you want. On the MBP's display, click on the pref window for the MBP's display and set the resolution to whatever you want. You'll be in what's called "extended desktop mode." You'll have to move the "pointer" all the way to the edge of one display to get it to go onto the other display. Open whatever you want, and drag it to the extended monitor. Set it to full screen. Open another whatever on the MBP's display and set it to full screen. You should be full screen on both displays.

  • My new Macbook Pro 13 keeps minimizing full screen applications and sending me back to the desktop. Any Help?

I can't stay in full screen applications without being returned to the desktop within 30 seconds. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or can assist
I am testing it without running any applications other than safari in full screen. It act like it is "swiping" me back to the desktop screen. I am not touching my trackpad or keyboard.
    Thanks,

Do you have Google Drive installed? At the following thread at least one person had a similar issue as you: for more details please check out this thread:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5526061?tstart=0

  • X mountain lion causing my display setting to be very low after tab out from a full screen application like game. anyone encountered the similar thing?

whenever i tab out from a full screen then the display setting will auto change with a blue flash screen.

Your issue could be caused by many things however I'm pretty certain it has nothing to do with OS X being faulty. OS X is not like Windows that requires a re-install whenever issues present themselves. You need to be methodical in checking where your issue lies. There are numerous articles available that go over causes, I'd suggest looking through the X-Lab article listed below and then methodically going through each step until you discover the cause.

If you still can't find it then you should work with an AASP to locate where your issue lies.

  • OS X maverick - I want the swipe function to switch from one full-screen application to another, is it possible?

    Hi everyone,
I just updated my mid-2010 MacBook Pro to the OS X Maverick. However, a friend of mine has Mountain Lion, and she has this really cool function that lets her swipe the keyboard to change the view from one "screen" to another, so for example she might have word open in one screen and safari in another. Can I do it in OS X Maverick as well? And if it isn't possible in Maverick, can I somehow update it so that I get the function? I've been trying to do the same with mine but it isn't working.. Really keen to get it to work as it would make life so much easier with writing essays and what not. I'm not very good with anything related to software, so forgive me if this seems like a silly question. Also, I'm not a native English speaker so my terminology might not be the best..
    Cheers

Not a silly question at all.
The function is called Spaces, which lets you switch between different desktops. You can read about Spaces here: Mac 101: Using Spaces to organize your windows and applications (Mac OS X v10.5, 10.6)
If you click the symbol with the two opposite arrows, in the upper right corner of the window of an application that supports it, an app will open in full-screen mode.
Then you can configure the gestures that control Spaces in Applications > System Preferences > Trackpad > more gestures.
On my mac, for example, if I do a three finger swipe upwards, it opens Mission Control. Mission Control organizes the different desktops in Spaces. I can open a new desktop for Spaces, remove a desktop, or switch apps between desktops.
It probably doesn't make much sense when this is described in words, but if I were you I'd just jump in and experiment with it a bit. If you have more questions report back here.

  • How to get Lightroom 5.7 to display in full screen mode on Mac Yosemite?

How can I get Lightroom 5.7 to display in full screen mode in Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10.1)?
Of course, that old full screen button at the top right of the window is gone now in Yosemite, but the third button in the top left of the window (the one that used to be green) should perform the same function, but it doesn't -- it just resizes the window, which was the default behaviour in Mavericks.
And there's no "Enter Full Screen" command under the View menu, either.
Seems pretty essential that a photo editing app would have a full screen view to remove all the clutter. How do you do it in Lightroom?

Shift+F Toggles the different screen modes for the Lightroom application, pressing F Takes an individual image into full-screen mode.

  • Full screen zooming in OS X Lion

Running recent model (non-Thunderbolt) i7 iMac and after the Lion install I can't do a full screen zoom. Tried every combination in Universal access and mouse settings, but I can't duplicate what I loved so much about the previous OS X versions (and have sold a heck of a lot of Macs to friends and co-workers based on simply thowing this zoom feature). I have a Magic Mouse and the Mouse dialog states something about holding a modifier key with the "scroll wheel"
I hope this is fixed or someone has a workthrough. When I fire

Hm. I'm using a Macbook Pro, and I can zoom using multi-touch just fine, though I might be interpreting your question incorrectly. Say for instance on the Safari window I'm typing in, I can zoom in on text and whatnot without the menu bar and all that zooming. Are you referring to zooming everything as a whole? After I send this I'll take a look, because I think I did that at some point when I was using the GM seed.
^The person above me figured it out, thanks for reminding me as well!

  • Command-L doesn't work for full-screen PDF under Mac

In Adobe Reader, users can use Ctrl-L to view PDF in full screen under Windows (Cmd-L under Mac);  in AIR, Ctrl-L still works under Windows but Cmd-L doesn't work under Mac. Is this a bug or the short-cut is intentionally disabled?

Hi If using command r did not get you to the recovery partition, you ether don't have it or the drive is corrupt and it wont open. And you also tried option and only got the startup volume. You could try option r. Are you able to boot into your desktop? Or use another mac. You should be able to use you apple id to look in purchases and re-download Lion. Then if you can using at lest a 10 Gig thumb drive copy the lion download as bootable to it and use that to repair your disk. If you get it downloaded do not open it. until you copy it.http://www.macworld.com/article/1161069/make_a_bootable_lion_installer.html

  • Safari's full screen option not showing in Lion

I just installed Lion on my desktop iMac, every other app shows the ability to go full screen in the upper right corner except for Safari. On my MacBook Pro everything looks fine, but not on my desktop mac.
I also am noticing a dark gray region at the top of the window, which doesn't appear on my laptop.
    Any ideas?

The Mac has never needed "Full Screen". It has done multiple screen Extended Desktop since 1987.
Full screen is an iPhone feature, carried into this verion with the mult-touch gestures and other so-called "unifying" features.

  • Merge two full-screened safari windows' bug under lion

    Hi there,
After installed lion, i found an obviously bug in safari.
    1. Open safari, enter full-screen mode.
    2. Creat a new safari window (not a new tab), then it will moved into a other full-screen automaticlly.
    3. Click in menu bar : window>merge all windows.
    4. And here you go, two widows will be merged into one full-screen without the 'quit full-screen mode' buttom, and the other full-screen 'desktop' will be blank with only background. And the mission control died also XD

    exactly, see~

  • Odd behavior during full screen video chat with Mountain Lion Messages?

I've recently upgraded to Mountain Lion on two MacBook Pros (from Lion) and have started to use the new Messages app. I've been using iChat for years and found it reliable for the most part.
However, I've noticed a new behavior that seems like a bug in the new Messages app.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open Messages app
    2. Initiate a non-FaceTime video chat via the Buddy List or the main Messages window video button
    3. Once the video is started, click on the Full Screen button in the window title bar or in the black toolbar at the bottom of the video
    4. After the video has gone full screen, move the mouse cursor
    5. At this point, the video will slide over (like a Mission Control / Exposé space). The video chat is actually STILL running in full screen view as a dedicated space -- you can slide back with the trackpad or the keyboard as per normal Mission Control controls.
Step 5 is NOT the correct behavior as per OS X 10.7 Lion. Not to mention, the black toolbar is unusable and it's hard to reach the menu bar Full Screen toggle button since moving the cursor even one pixel makes the screen slide over.
Has anyone experienced this? If yes, is there a solution? How do we bring this to Apple's attention for a future fix?

I got the machine to reboot but I had to hold down the power button. I found an article on macworld that said to use the command +control+eject buttons to restart but no go. Nothing.
There really... REALLY ought to be some way to exit full screen in such a case.

  • Is there a way to get the bookmarks toolbar to display when switching to full screen on a Mac?

When switching to full screen mode in Firefox 9 the bookmarks toolbar goes away. I can't find any view setting to keep it displayed. Is there a way?

Maybe use the Bookmarks sidebar instead (Command+B).
You can also add code to userChrome.css below the default @namespace line to display the Bookmarks Toolbar when you hover to the top of the window to unhide the toolbars and tab bar.<br />
I don't know if that works on a Mac.

  • Drawing Over Full Screen Applications

    Hi,
I am trying to create an application that will flash vocab at me while I am gaming, in the hope that I may learn it with minimal effort...
As I play guild wars a lot, I was wondering whether there would be a way for the program to display its output over guild-wars, without guild wars losing the focus, similar to the way it is done in the xfire chat client.
Currently the output consists of two JLabels in a JWindow.
I would post code, but as my problem is more an abstract one I doubt that would be to any avail.
I have read about drawing directly to screen - active rendering etc, and am not sure whether any of this would be applicable.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If the other app is a full-screen exclusive application, there's basically no way.
Even if not, you can not make a truly transparent window in Java (yet), so you can't place it on top of another app and make the latter visible and accessible to events.

  • RDP full-screen mode in Mac OS X Yosemite requires discrete GPU?

RDP works great with Mavericks and requires only integrated Intel GPU. But when upgrade to Yosemite, It requires discrete GPU every time I go into full-screen mode. Which is pretty annoying without power supply.
    I am using MBP 15-inch Mid 2010.
    Any possible solution?  Thanks!

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Initially please update MRD MAC to v8.0.10. From description it seems that issue related to MAC side compatibility issue, so suggest you to contact apple customer care and clarify for further research.
Thanks for your understanding and Support!
