Functional Area populating in MIRO during simulation

Hello,
We are in ECC6.0 EHP4, we have a need to Populate "*Functional area*" into table BSEG, for which we have maintained this in PO, and through PO this comes on to MIRO screen, but when I do simulation, The simulation screen does not show "functional area" which in turn does not populate in BSEG, how can we have this value for the field "Functional area" be populated into BSEG, if I have to use an user exit, I need one that is a part if 'MIRO" and  updates the BSEG table

functional area basically define in FI module as Financial Accounting Global Settings/Financial Accounting Definition/Financial Accounting Global Settings (New)
which is just Typical functional areas are Sales, Production, Marketing, Administration and Research & Development.
so its segregating business by it department as we created via below path:
Financial Accounting Global Settings (New)->Ledgers->Fields->Standard Fields->Functional Area for Cost of Sales Accounting->Define Functional Area

  • Functional Area determination in MIRO postings

    We are on ECC 5.0
    We had A/P invoices were posted via MIRO where the account assignment was changed. 
    Right now we have:
    -Functional areas defined in all cost center master records.
    -Functional areas defined for a select group of balance sheet accounts.
    -Configured a special PO type Z to allow POs to be created against balance sheet accounts
    The scenario is this:
    When the account assignment of a PO is changed during MIRO invoice entry, it seems as though the functional area is still being derived off of the original account assignment.  So it posts it to the right cost center, wrong functional area.
    Is there a way to have MIRO re-derive the functional area during invoice entry?
    Also, when I tried to correct the issue through a manual journal entry via FB50, I received the error message: "
    An entry in field Functional Area is not permitted for account 732000." Message no. F5394
    Does anyone know what might cause this error message?  I tried to change the field status group for that GL account by making functional area optional and tried the je again with the same error message. 
    Any idea how to correct the prior mispostings?

    Hi,
    i did nt understand what s functional area determination ! can you pls explain further. If you are talking about sales area then yes if the customer belongs to more than one sales area the system would give a pop up and you can select what you want.
    you can also change later to the sales area required provided no subsequent processing of the sales order has taken place.

  • Unexpected reboot during simulation using multisim on AMD dual core processor

    We are using NI-multisim 10 in a classroom environment and are experiencing sudden reboots during simulation without giving any error or warning. This happens on multiple machines, all being Dell Optiplex 740 with AMD DC 2Ghz as processor. Since these problems happen so frequently, making  teaching quite impossible, we have shifted PC-room and are now using older machines. On these machines - Dell GX280 using intell P4HT-2,8 Ghz - we experience no more problems.
    Is this reboot problem related to the article :  Unexpected Errors with DAQ Device on AMD Dual Core Machine  (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9CE22FE099A​FB8BF862572FF007A5D45) and what do we have to do to fix this problem?

    Can you verify your driver versions? Make sure that you are running the latest versions of NI drivers to ensure proper compatibility. If possible, you might try upgrading to multisim 11. If this does not solve the issue, try the single processor workaround in outlined in the following KB:

    Altough it is surely decreasing the performance of the system, certain cases have shown that there is no other possible workaround unfortunately.

  • Functional Area field not getting populated in the AUFK table

    Hi Friends,
    The table AUFK is the table for Internal Order master data.
    The issue which we are facing is:
    In a particular Order type, the field 'Functional Area' is suppressed in the field status group for the order master data.
    But the cost centers which are maintained in the order master has the functional area field populated with value.
    In the table AUFK, the functional area field is populated for some internal orders and not populated for others. In all cases it should pick the functional area from the cost center which is maintained in the internal order.
    Please guide us about what can be the possible reason(s) for populating the field in some cases while not populating in other cases.

    Hi,
    maintain the functional area in order master data to ensure 100% functional area is available in AUFK.
    I can't tell you the reason why its sometimes appearing and sometimes not bur FUNC_AREA is not picked from responsible/requesting cost center (from master data).
    If in customizing of internal order order types a "model-order" is assigned with maintained functional area, this func_area is taken if you create a new order for this ordertype.

    We have 2 functional areas in which we have different business process involved.
    During the Access request, if the user selects  one functional area then business process related to that functional area should come.
    Is there any functionality in GRC, where the mapping between functional are and business process to be done?

    Hi Sri,
    there is relationship between 'Business process' and 'Sub-business' process as in configuration parameter you can setup that once business process is selected only relevant sub-process will be selected.
    There is no such a relation between functional area and business process.

  • Different functional areas during assessment cycles

    We have an assessment cycle set up executed via KSU5.
    We have the sender cost center assigned to functional area 300.  In this case, the receiving cost center is also functional area 300.
    All of the financial transactions (journal entries, invoices, goods receipts and depreciation posting) are all assigned to functional area 300.
    However, when the assessment cycle is run, a portion of the credit to the sender cost center is assigning itself to functional area 200.  I cannot tie this out to a single transaction or even a single (or combination of) cost elements.
    What could be causing my credits to post to two different functional areas if all G/L accounts, all transactions and all affected cost centers are the same functional area?

    Thanks for the reply.  I checked GGB1 and didn't see anything that would pertain to a substitution affecting functional area 200.

  • From Work Order Functional area not Updating in MM & FI Documents During GI

    Hi All
    In work order functional area is getting updated in additional data tab from functional location. In functional location we have the work center and this work center is assigned to cost center. In this cost center we maintain the functional area & profit center.
    from there it is updating in the work order. But in MM & FI documents the functional area is showing as blank we are facing this issue for only one work order for other work orders the functional area is updating in MM & FI documents.

    Cancelled contract lines are populating in the SR form's subject tab when clicking on 'Get Contracts' button. But user says, it should not be populated. What could be the reason? Please suggest.
    I have told the user :
    "In the case of a renewed contract, if the service request is logged during the effectivity of the original contract (which is now Expired), the original contract will be retrieved. If the service request is logged during the effectivity of the renewal contract then only the renewal contract will be retrieved.
      Contract Entitlement on Subject tab is based on Contract Start and End dates. All the contracts i.e. expired, active, cancelled will appear until the end date. As we can see the contract ES-10165 is end dated on 09-DEC-2014, hence it will appear on the subject tab as per the functionality."
    But the User is saying:
    "Contract coverage is clear to be based on dates, and that is quite clear to me as well… the problem comes with the different statuses.
    A SR can be associated to an “EXPIRED” contract line because the SR creation date could be falling between coverage line start and end dates, but can never be related to a “CANCELLED” line.
    This “CANCELLED” status means that the line is not valid for the contract, so if it is not valid for a contract, it is not valid for referencing a job…and this is only creating wrong costs associations."

    Hi Sudhakar,
    Drop inline message components for each of the textFields and the textArea and then run the application. You could also use a message list component but inline message components for each of the input components would give you a clear idea if any errors are occuring. In case any such errors are indeed occuring then the situation can be analysed further.

  • Custom Search Help for Functional Area of Cost Centre(KS01/KS02)

    Hi,
    I need to implement a custom search help and custom enhancement for the field Functional Area in Basic Data tab of Cost Centre Create/Change(KS01/KS02) transactions. Details of the requirement are as below:
    1. There will be a custom relation for the Cost Centre category and Functional Area which was maintained thru a SAP standard table TKA05 and a custom table.
    2.When the relation to Cost Centre category and Functional Area is a one to one it exist in the TKA05 and if its one to many it will be maintained in the custom table.
    3. The requirement is when the Cost Center to Functional area is maintained in table TKA05(One to One) in this case the corresponding Functional Area needs to be populated automatically after entering the cost centre and pressing a enter key by user.
    4.When the Cost Centre Category and Functional area does not exist in table TKA05 and existing in custom table(One to Many) in this case the F4 should be enabled for user selection with the list of Functional area values corresponding to the cost centre category entered that are maintained in the custom table.
    As per the functionality provided by SAP the input help(F4) of the field Functional area in Cost Center does not have any relation with Cost Centre Category. The existing F4 is from the Value Table(TFKB) attached to the domain of FKBER.
    Please provide your valuable inputs to implement the above requirement. Your input will be rewareded.

    i can see your requirement in below way..
    as it just reads: you need to assign the standard cost center help to a z cost center field in component /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC.. which actually is fetched though the component /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH
    so, if you see the component controller of SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC you will see the component
    USAGE_SH_F4     /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH                        
    USAGE_SH_F4     /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH     INTERFACECONTROLLER
    so you can replicate the same functionality for your z field.
    but can you clarify one thing.. why are you going for this z field in place of standard field ?

  • Regarding Object Functional Area (FN)

    Hi Folks,
    The client is currently on EhP4 and will be upgrading to EhP5 soon.
    Also the Netweaver version currently is 7.0 and will be upgrading to portal Enhancement Pack 3 of 7.0
    The client needs full fledged Job Architecture and Competency Management. The blueprint discussions have already concluded and the discussions were done assuming we have the Functional area and Job Family objects as part of the Job architecture structure.
    I just got access to client SAP and discovered the "Functional Area (FN)" object missing from the object list in PP01. 
    In this regards, I have the below queries:
    * Is the object FN available only with EhP6 and above versions?
         If No, will this issue be as simple as missing table entries?
         If Yes, with EhP4 or 5 implemented, can we create a new object with same name FN and maintain the corresponding relationships as will be done in standard post EhP6? And will the profile match-up consider the custom created FN object during comparisons in ECC transaction and on portal (during development plans and succession planning comparisons) ?

    The FN object is activated as part of a Business Function and is available from EhP4 onwards.
    The business function (HCM_TMC_CI_1) was introduced with EhP4 (but still needs activating).

  • WO in IW33 will not show Functional area # but IW32 will-causing CAT2 issue

    When staff is entering time in CAT2, they get an error stating that "Functional Area is Required."
    In IW32 when we open the WO the Functional Area on the Additional Data tab is populated, but when we open the same WO in IW33 the Functional Area field is not populated.
    Any suggestion on why this is occuring.

    In the cost center master data the functional area in blank, yet when the client prepares a service entry sheet using the cost center without funcatiional area, the system defaults the 1000, thus making reporting inaccurate.   How does the "account assignment" get populated on a service entry sheet?

    If you want to use cost of sales accounting, you have to use functional areas to sort your operating expenses.
    You define your functional areas in Customizing under Financial Accounting ® Financial Accounting Global Settings ® Company code® Cost of Sales Accounting ® Define Functional Area.

    Postings that have already been made cannot be changed automatically. The functional area is derived only in the case of new postings.
    Where it is absolutely necessary to change the functional area for existing postings, you can find instructions on how to perform the change in Note 115840.
