Functional Design Document using LSMW

Hi,
I have to write a Functional Design Document for a LSMW development.Does any body have any samples / template for such a document - LSMW specific?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Gopidas,
Thank you for your riply.
I have a PC aplication to create invoces (and credit / debit memos etc), and i want to import them to SAP SD.
I think the best way is using LSMW. The aplication generates a file that can be used by LSMW.
My question is how ?
I have beeing trying this but with no sucess. Do you have any example for this ?
Best regards,
Paulo

  • Functional design documents

    Hello all,
    I would like to know what the functional design document is about. What is the use of functional design document? Pl. post any link or documents related to it.
    Thanks,

    Design Documentation tell us how the interfaces are going to work for the entire project. So usually Architects or Senior guys who have indepth experience of XI will usually write this.
    Functional Documentation tell us the functioanlity of the interface. This is written by the Functional guys who have indepth knowledge about the functionality what they are looking from the interface. They may even take the help of technical guys to some extent.
    Technical Documentation tells us how the interface is going to be worked technically. Here we will mention what are the adapters, naming conventions etc we are going to use for the interface. This is written by the XI developers. This are purely my views and this may change from person to person jenni.

  • MASS UPLOAD OF DOCUMENTS USING LSMW

    Hello Experts,
    I am experienced in SAP DMS but not in LSMW.
    I would like to use LSMW for Mass Uplaod of Documents and would like to give the input in the below format.
    I was able to create LSMW for Doc Upload using Recording option but it will not give me the original path location.
    I know there is a BAPI too for Document create which is BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE but dont know how to use it in LSMW>
    Which option is best to be used in this case. Below find the input format of the file which am looking
    DIR
      Number
    Doc Type
    Doc Part
    Doc Ver
    Description
    Status
    Original File
      Path.
    Appriciate your answers.
    Regards,
    S.Kulkarni

    Dear Shrikanth,
    please note that batch input in Document Management System is not
    supported for Releases higher than 4.5. The batch input technology
    was designed for the transactions CV01 and not for CV01N/02N etc.
    To create
    or change a document info record in background I would recommend you to
    use the BAPIs BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 or BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2 to create
    or change a Document info record. Please see SAP note 766277,
    which contains the full documentation of all BAPIs in the DMS area.
    Normally you can use DMS BAPI or API function modules to checkin
    originals into the content server. I would recommend you to use the
    API modules as they are much more flexible then BAPIs. Please see the
    note 504692 which contains further information and some
    sample programs.
    With transaction SXDA you can also create document info records
    in the background but the filepath should not be shortened anymore.
    For further information please check SAP note 817743.
    I hope that this information could be useful for you to setup a
    working scenario to edit document info records successfully in
    background.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Use of field "design documents assigned" in material master

    hi,
    kindly help me to use the field "design documents assigned" in material master. whenever i creat material master (MM01) in basic data2 view this field comes with grey/black No Link indicator. how to use this and for what .
    regards
    roshan s.

    Hi Roshan,
    Insted of using this field u can assign Document directly to the Additional Data tab.
    TO attach the document to Material Master go to Additional data ---> Document data, assign Document.
    You can confirm it by pressing F1 key by selecting that Field.

  • Adding N-number of customer partner functions to a customer using LSMW.....

    Hi Abapers,
              I had a requirement to add some 500-600 customer partner functions(bill-to-party,payer,ship-to-party) to a single customer(sales rep or employee customer) using LSMW.
              I uploaded the customer(500) master using LSMW, and i want to add 499 customer partner functions(bill-to-party,payer,ship-to-party) to the 1st customer .
              So, i want to know how to do this using LSMW or BDC, and give me suggestions to overcome this....
    Thanks,
    Dilip.B

    I have responded to similar queries in one of the threads.
    Please find the URL of that discussion:
    [Re: LSMW   |Re: LSMW]
    Instead of Vendor you need to use CUSTOMER number and Chose the standard customer master program for LSMW. In recording you wont be able to acheve this.
    Hope this helps.

    G'day,
    I need some help, i am trying to type into an adobe document using the typewriter function.
    However every time after i type the text vanishes. It is almost as if the text is white and vanishes into the background.
    This is not the case as the works are not visible regardless of the background color.
    The text box remains available and can be edited if clicked on, also if i double click on it the typed words become visible and editable, however once i close the box i cannot see them on the screen.
    I would appreciate any help i can get, i cant seem to do anything using properties or view.
    Thanks

    Hi Sara,
    See response to your questions below:
    1.     Are you running into this issue in a specific PDF, or in all of them?
    A.     All of them
    2.     What version of Acrobat are you using (and, are you on Mac OS or Windows?).
    A.     Using Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat on Windows
    3.     If you look at the text properties on the Tools panel (under Format), what color is the text swatch?
    A.     Test swatch for the text is black
    4.     What happens if you change the text color?
    A.     Nothing.
    I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • COM object model not functioning after encrypting the word document using office extention

         After encrypting A word document using office extention, it seems like the COM object model becomes unusable. I cannot not manipulate the encrypt document through COM interface, nor can I write macro VBScript to do some operation on the docuent.
         For example, I create a word Macro with some simple code.
    Sub hi()
        Dim i As Integer
        i = ThisDocument.Fields.Count
        MsgBox i
    End Sub
         If the document is not encrypt, then we will see a msgbox which tells us the number of bookmarks in the current document.
         Now, encrypt the word document using the office extention, running the macro code will fail with error code " 80004005" and error message:Method 'Fields' of bject 'ThisDocument' failed.
    It is very important for us to manipulate word documents through COM interface in our system, I want to know why the COM interface does not work anymore after the document is encrypted.

    I take macro script as an example to demonstrate that word COM object model cannot be used after encripted. Actually you can reproduce the same problem when you manipulate word document through COM interface using any programming language.
    For example, you can create a text document  with the following VBscript:
    set a = createobject("Word.Application")
    set doc = a.Documents.Open("E:\temp\test.docx")
    msgbox doc.Fields.count
    doc.close
    a.quit
    Save the document with ".vbs" file extention and then run it by double clicking it. it will fail if the document is encrypted using the office extention.

  • Uploading Delivery Schedule using LSMW

    Hi All,
    I am uploading the Delivery Schedule documents(T-code: ME38) into SAP.
    I am using BAPI method in LSMW.
    Business Object: BUS2013
    Method: MAINTAIN
    Message Type: PURSAG_MAINTAIN
    Basic Type: PURSAG_MAINTAIN01
    While doing so I am getting some warning and error messages.
    1. Statistical delivery date in the past
    2. Delivery date is in the past
    3. Can delivery date be met? (Realistic delivery date: 22.05.2008 )
    4. Instance PurchSchedAgreement of object type <SA   Number> could not be changed
    As mentioned above all the messages are coming as Status 51 only.
    But I am able to successfully upload the same record manually using ME38 even though I get the warning messages which is given above (1,2,3).
    Can any one help me sorting out this as soon as possible?
    Helpful answers will surely be awarded.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Asif Ali Khan

    You will keep one input file, and store your look up file as a translation table in step 6 of the LSMW, then use this translation in the mapping rules.
    This is standard LSMW functionality, please refer to LSMW documentation or online information for further information.

  • Adding "Filter Criteria" to the XSLT List View Web Part impact on "Export to Excel" functionality within Document Library

    Hi there,
    XSLT List View displaying all the list items within the Document Library. In order to implement the Search functionality within Document library out of box "Text Filter" web part is configured as explained below. The solution is similar to
    the one suggested at
    http://www.wonderlaura.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=77
    "Text Filter" Web Part added to the page.
    Filter Criteria (i.e., XSLT List View columns) added to the XSLT List View where the filter parameters take the input from the "Text Filter" Web Part .
      3. Both Web Parts (XSLT List View and the Text Filter) are connected.
    When the search criteria is entered into the "Text Filter" Web Part, it is passed to the relevant Columns of the XSLT List View and the documents (List Items) that match the search criteria are shown within XSLT List View.
    Search functionality working as expected.
    Query: Selecting the "Export to Excel" icon from the ribbon generates the excel spread sheet with no data except Column Titles from the Document library. In the investigation it is
    found that adding the 'Filter Criteria' on XSLT List View is causing this bug. When the Filter Criteria is removed, then "Export to Excel" functionality is working as expected.
    But it is mandatory to add "Filter Criteria" to implement the search functionality with in the document library.
    Help: Help/input appreciated on the work around to get the "Export to Excel" functionality work when the "Filter Criteria"
    exist on the XSLT List View.
    Regards,

    Once again thanks very much for your help Scott. very much appreciated.
    In the investigation it is found that removing the 'Filter Criteria' on XSLT List View makes the "Export to Excel" functionality work. But the 'Filter Criteria' is mandatory to get the 'Document Search' functionality.
    I think that due to technical limitations it should be concluded that 'only custom development can make all work, no code solutions using the SharePoint Designer can meet all the requirements.
    If you can think of any alternative solution that could help in resolving the current issue or fix the issue without any custom implementation please inform. Otherwise this issue would be marked as resolved with your suggested response.

  • Forms 10g - Design Document

    Good day,
    I'm working in Oracle Forms Builder 10g (10.1.2.0.2) and I keep coming across functions in the PL/SQL code that are used to modify values in the forms. Unfortunately I don't have a design document for my system so I can't tell the API of these functions. I think some of the functions may be standard functions in PL/SQL or Oracle Forms Builder. Would anyone be able to point me to a resource that can explain how to use each of these functions?
    go_item()
    go_block()
    find_item()
    get_item_property()
    set_item_property()
    get_block_property()
    set_block_property()
    get_window_property()
    set_window_property()
    get_item_instance_property()
    set_item_instance_property()
    There are several custom functions in the system as well, where should I look to see where they are defined?

    Hello Thomas,
    Those are all Forms functions. I would suggest you download the PDF [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/documentation/10g-forms-091309.html]documentation for Oracle Forms. I use the PDF manuals all the time. Another good source is the online-help by simply selecting Help => Online Help and then searching for the particular function name or the like.
    Good luck,
    Don.

  • Merchandise category & hierarchy upload using LSMW???

    Hi
    I am trying to upload Merchandise category and hierarcy using LSMW (BAPI/IDOC method only).
    For merhcandise category
    I used message type W_WGRP and it is helping me in changing or reclassification of articles. But I am not able to create new merchandise category with this. I used structure E1BPE1WGR01  with "function" field with value "005, LSMW is working fine idocs are created successfully but no new Merc Cat is created.
    When I used same structure with "function" field with value "009" I get error message "Class XXX does not exist or or is not valid on this date".
    For Merchandise Catrgory Hierarchy
    I used idoc CLSMAS but getting error message "Keyword missing for class XXX"
    has anybody uploded entire hierarchy structure using LSMW ?

    Sorry to say, but your problem is not resolved.
    In IS-Retail, a merchandise category must first be created as a class (CLSMAS) and then also as a merchandise category (W_WGRP).  Yes, you must process two IDoc per merchandise category, and in that order.
    To understand how to load data using LSMW, the best approach to watch what the system does naturally.  In this case, use T-Code WGSE to send the merchandise category hierarchy via ALE from one system-client to another.  For understanding, you needn't configure the entire ALE scenario, just the outbound portion.  Then watch the outbound IDocs be created; there's your example!
    For merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), there are four message types that will be sent: W_WGRP, CHRMAS, CLFMAS, and CLSMAS.
    IDoc Serialization using message types (serialization groups) is used when several different message types are dependent on each other, as is the case here. For example, if a merchandise category is assigned to a merchandise category hierarchy level, the merchandise category hierarchy level must first exist.  How you use LSMW and IDocs is informed by the sequence.
    To understand the IDoc sequence for creating the merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), use T-Code BD44 to view the Serialization Group GRP_W_WGRP includes the 4 desired message types in sequence:
    CHRMAS04 Distr. of Characteristics with Dependencies and Long Texts
    CLFMAS02 Master object classification
    CLSMAS04 Classes with Long Texts, Document Links, and E1UPSLINK
    W_WGRP01 Distribution of material groups
    CHRMAS04 is only relevant of Characteristics are being assigned to merchandise categories.  Let us leave Characteristics aside for now.
    Step 1:  Create Merchandise Category Hierarchy Nodes
    Step 2:  Merchandise Categories - Create as a Class
    Step 3:  Merchandise Categories - Change as a Retail MC
    Step 4:  Merchandise Categories - Assign Category Hierarchy Nodes each other, and assign MC class to MCH node.
    For this, use these messages:
    Step 1:  CLSMAS04
    Step 2:  CLSMAS04
    Step 3:  W_WGRP01
    Step 4:  CLFMAS02

  • Saving a document using Word 2010 into a managed metadat hierarchy

    Hi
    Can I save a document using Word 2010 into a document library that has a managed metadata hierarchy and the document appear in the correct place in the hierarchy ?
    Ideally it would be good if the Word 2010 "Save As" browser would show the managed metadata hierarchy, the user would select a node on the managed metadata hierarchy and the document would be save with the appropriate metadata to place the document
    in the correct place in the hierarchy.
    Thanks
    Nigel
    Nigel Price NJPEnterprises

    Hi Nigel,
    I think it's normal difference between "Open" and "Save As" option in MS Office application by design.
    Whenever we create the document from/out of SharePoint library, and click "Save As" and there is always no "Arrange by" part in dialog.
    When we open Office Word application, and open a library location from SharePoint site, if we disabled the option "Configure Navigation Hierarchies" for that particular library, there will be no "Arrange by" part in "Open"
    dialog(e.g. image below).
    It seems SharePoint doesn't provide the function for "Save As" the same as "Open" with different disign requirements, if we want to save document to the needed location in that library through "Save As" dialog, we
    can add the proper metadata column value (e.g. manged metadata column if there is) in "Document Information Panel", and/or navigate to the proper library folder location.
    Thanks
