G560 Win7 recovery button takes into DOS window

Hi,
Anyyone with a hint on how to tackle my issue that when I want to do one key recovery:
- windows files loading with progress bar comes up
- background with green leaves shows
so far it looks ok, but then on top of the background
-  X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe DOS window appears
I do not find how to progress from here.
Did not find anything to start in this directory that would continue the process.
Having done successful one key recovery earlier I dunno what went wrong since.
If I close the DOS window, Windows starts up automatically and normally, but i would want to completely reset the laptop.
Thks . . .

If you still have your Windows working, then it's still not late to make recovery disks. Booting from these will take you back to the factory state, restoring also the hidden partition and making one key recovery work again.

  • How to make a JPanel containing buttons  take up the width of the window?

    I'm creating a GUI and I have a button group that I want to be the width of the window. I have another JPanel on the same window that doesn't have a button group in it and it takes up the width of the window. I don't think I'm doing anything differently creating the two, but I need consistency.
    The best way I can explain this is with code, so I created an example of what I am doing here:
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class test extends JFrame {
         public test() {
              JPanel win = new JPanel();
              JPanel buttonsPanel = new JPanel();
              JPanel statusPanel = new JPanel();
              win.setLayout(new BoxLayout(win, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              buttonsPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(buttonsPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              statusPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(statusPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
    //          createRadioButtonsPanel
              ButtonGroup buttons = new ButtonGroup();
              JRadioButton currentMap = new JRadioButton("option1", true);
              JRadioButton newMap = new JRadioButton("option2");
              JRadioButton noMap = new JRadioButton("option3");
              buttons.add(currentMap);
              buttons.add(newMap);
              buttons.add(noMap);
              buttonsPanel.add(currentMap);
              buttonsPanel.add(newMap);
              buttonsPanel.add(noMap);
              buttonsPanel.setBorder(
                        BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("Create: "));
    //           createStatusPanel
              JLabel statusLabel = new JLabel("Loading...");
              statusLabel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createLoweredBevelBorder());
              statusLabel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(400,20));
              statusLabel.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(400,20));
              statusLabel.setMaximumSize(new Dimension(400,20));
              statusPanel.add(statusLabel);
              JPanel statusButtons = new JPanel(new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.RIGHT));
              JButton pauseSearch = new JButton("Pause");
              JButton cancelSearch = new JButton("Cancel");
              statusButtons.add(pauseSearch);
              statusButtons.add(cancelSearch);
              statusPanel.add(statusButtons);
              statusPanel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("Status: "));
              win.add(buttonsPanel);
              win.add(statusPanel);
              getContentPane().add(win);
              pack();
              setVisible(true);
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              test s = new test();
    }When I compile and run this class I get this window:
    http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1538/exampleek5.png
    You see how on the bottom, "Status" JPanel takes up the entire width of the window? When the window is resized, the border is also resized. I would love to have the top "Create" JPanel have the same behavior. How do I do this?
    Thanks in advance!

    It can get confusing when using the BoxLayout. The box layout takes into consideration the X alignment of the components as well as the minimum and maximum lengths.
    So I suggest you read the Swing tutorial on [url http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/layout/box.html]How to Use Box Layout for examples and explanations on how these values are used in the layout process.
    It may be easier to use a BorderLayout for the high level layout manger, since it will resize a components width when added to the NORTH, CENTER or SOUTH.

     Sometimes it helps to  prepare  the hdd  with Cyberlink Utility cd first. Download and Save the file. Once download is complete, put a blank cd in your drive and click the file to create a boot cd. Boot with this cd and wait until you get a green check mark indicating hdd is ready. Remove the cd , insert first Recovery Disk and restart the laptop.

  • USB recovery media from Toshiba for Windows 7 doesn´t work

    Hi,
    Recently as my laptop Potégé was slow I reinstalled Windows without using Toshiba recovery disks. Now I can't activate Windows 7 (64 bits), so I ordered a USB recovery media from Toshiba. I tried to use it but it doesn't work. I turn off the laptop, turn it on again pressing F12, -with the USB plugged to the laptop- and when I press HDD recovery, the system just takes me to Windows as usual, without reinstalling. Any thoughts on how to reinstall?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
    Are you getting a boot option menu when you press f12?  Have you tried going into BIOS to check your boot order?  Usually f2 or DEL will get you to BIOS, or at the bottom of the boot option menu (which I assume is f12).  Once you are in BIOS, check that your USB drive is above the others in the boot order and save your configuration and reboot.  If you are still having a problem, you might check to see how many USB devices you have plugged in, or chained, and remove the ones that are not necessary because they could interfere with booting to your USB drive.  If you are using a USB hub, you might try putting the usb key into a different slot to give it priority over the other USB devices on boot up.  The highest priority slot on a USB hub might be the one closest to the USB cable that plugs in to your laptop's USB port.

  • More than 3 buttons in a Popup Window

    Hi,
    is it possible to provide more than 3 buttons in a popup window?
    In the Interface IF_WD_WINDOW I can only find button types like co_buttons_yesnocancel which represents 3 buttons, but it would be nice to have 4 buttons.
    Is this possible at all?
    Regards, Steffen

    You have a few choices.  First why not move the processing for these buttons into the view of the popup.  If your logic is structured into the component or custom controller, then you should be able to trigger those calls just as easily from the view popup.
    The other option is to create a separate component for the popup - with the custom buttoms. You can then create your actions as interface actions and register event handlers from your calling component - basically just normal cross-component eventing.

  • Runtime.exec open new DOS Window

    Hi,
    I want to execute a program (a.exe) having as work directory (C:\geo\B\)
    I create a batch file for changing into the directory and executing the command in the way:
    cd C:\geo\B
    start a.exeThis batch file (art.bat), I execute it in the following way within the run method of a Thread:
      public void run() {
          Process proc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /K start " + art.bat);
          proc.waitFor();
          proc.destroy();
       }The fact is that works fine, but with this execution it opens a DOS window and i would prefer to avoid the appearance of new windows.... any help??
    Thanks All,
    Al

    cmd always opens a dos window - use another console interpreter instead or just call the programm directly.
    i.e.
    Runetime.exec("c:\\myprogram.exe");

  • Dos window in applets?

    how do u put the dos window that all the output normally appears in, into an applet?

    I suppose you could write a pop-up window that displays output from an OutputStream, and then use System.setOut to redirect System.out.println invocations to send their output to the window.
    But I'm not sure that that's even what you're asking.
    I believe that System.out goes to the java console in browsers, so if you're just looking for debug info, maybe all you have to do is turn the console on.
    Possibly the real solution to your problem is to redesign your applet so that it doesn't need to produce output like that.

  • Running executables in a DOS window

    I'm in a bind that I think has two possible solutions.
    What I need to do is get an exe running. Normally, when you double click on it, it opens up a DOS window and runs in that. If I use Runtime.getRuntime().exec(), then the app runs invisibly, which is not good (for testing).
    On top of this problem, one I have the app open I need to navigate through the menu system as if someone were actually sitting there typing. There are no APIs defined for interaction with the program.
    I think one possible solution is to use Runtime.getRuntime().exec() to run a batch file that will open the program. However, if I use this approach then I will need to detect the newly running GUI so I can "type" into it, possibly using the Robot class.
    Another solution is to have Java open a DOS window itself and run the program from inside of it. This seems like it would be more straightforward because I would have all the handles necessary for interacting with the window, again with the Robot class.
    I can't find any information on working with Dos apps through Java, and I'm not sure which, if any, of these approaches is feasible. Does anyone have any advice?

    no, the apps don't run "silently" when you use
    Runtime. Instead, the Process object gives you
    access to their input and output streams.
    Essentially giving you the Dos console that you're
    e used to programatically. You can write to and read
    from its streams in any manner you like.Thanks Brent. Unfortunately for me, the app I'm using doesn't output anything java's input stream can read. It's one of those old graphical menu kind of interfaces.
    The other reason that I'd like to run it graphically is that I would be able to see what my program is doing while I'm debugging it. Since I have to do things like press "down arrow" it would be a lot easier to use the Robot class than to tell Java to send those sequences across.

  • Flash buttons take to different links

    Hey!
    My problem is:
    http://ajuvaba.planet.ee/extras/poetryslam.swf
    When I press buttons, then it starts animation. What I must
    do, when I wanna that after the animation the button takes me to
    HTML side.
    For example: when I push Home button, first it plays the
    animation and then takes me to HOME html page. And when I push
    media button, it takes me to MEDIA html side. It must be also in
    same window.
    I tried different ways, but Flash opens all the links same
    time. I wanna, when I push media button, then it takes me to MEDIA
    html page or when I push HOME button, then I takes me to HOME html
    page. When I but the links to the end of animation, then it opens
    all the links on the same time :S

  • Anybody tried install oracle 10g into Microsoft Windows Server 2003

    Dear sir/madam
    I would like to know is anybody tried install oracle 10g 10.2.0.1.0 into Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003?
    Will it works smoothly? any problems about it? any networks problems?
    I am prepare to buy Genuine Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003, so I would like to know about this matter.
    many thanks
    Francis

    While I have not installed Oracle on Windows 2003 Small Business Server, I would suggest that you not install on that particular version of Windows. While I have not worked with SBS, I believe that this is an all-in-one solution that handles Exchange email services, file services, print services, domain control (all roles), DNS, WINS, HTTP, and probably a couple other things also.
    While it sounds like a great idea to add Oracle to this server, I suspect that you will encounter some of the same issues that cause problems when Oracle is installed on a Windows domain controller. On such a server, there is no concept of a local group (the ORA_DBA group that the installer tries to create). Available memory, availalble free CPU, and disk contention may also be a problem due to contention with other services running on the server.
    You might take a look at the following Metalink articles:
    Note:46001.1
    Note:77665.1
    Note:160538.1
    I would suggest that you take a look at the 64 bit Standard Edition of Windows 2003 if it is compatible with your hardware, or if you are familiar with Linux, do as Aman suggested. If possible, run only Oracle on the server.
    Incidentally, Windows 2003 SBS is not listed on Oracle's certify web page, even though Windows 2008 is listed.
