HOW TO PRINTLN INTO DOS CONSOLE ?

hi all,
of course you can make outputs with System.out.println("Bla"); into the JBuilder console (for example).
but what if i started my java application with a batch file?
the batch file opens a dos console/window.
how can i force the System.out.println of my code to appear into this dos window?

I am trying to open a DOS console (says, cmd.exe in win2000) in Java. Obviously, the usual Runtime.getRuntime.exec("cmd") just does not work. Could someone please help me in solving this puzzle.

What exactly do you want to do with the console once it is opened? The Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd.exe") does open a command processor. However, it will terminate when the JVM terminates.
Also, the JVM grabs hold of both the stdin and stdout handles that the console uses so there is no way for the user to interact directly with the command processor.
If you want to open a command processor that becomes completely separate from the JVM that launched it, do the following:
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd.exe /c start");This will cause a command processor to be created by the JVM. The created command processor will start another command processor. The first command processor will terminate, but the second one will remain active without any ties to the JVM.

How can DTExec show the execution package progress while running it in the DOS console?

We need to view the package results/progress during the execution of the package by the DTExec command. Isn´t it possible?
The user can´t view the details for the execution by the GUI.
The package is deployed in the SSIDB (Catalog). The final idea is to Audit the result in a *.log file from the Batch we have created. We are not considering to use the "Logging" feature while designing the package. We expect to have same SSIS events
in the DOS console while executing it.
DTExec always says: To view the details for the execution, right-click on the Integration Services Catalog, and open the [All Executions] report
How could it be possible?

Hi Alex,
I don’t think it is possible to display the package execution details in the Command Prompt when we execute a package stored in the SSISDB catalog. Except for enabling the package logging, we have to view the execution details from the “All Executions” Standard
Report for the SSISDB Catalog.

Stuck at gdm how do i drop back into the console?

okay first off i'm ashamed to get stuck at this spot after spending a long time figuring out how to install/configure anything. long story short i got my system core installed, installed fluxbox, and then installed gdm. unfortunately now gdm loads and wont let me back into the console(even if i try the command ctrl+alt+backspace). why is that bad? because i forgot to add a normal user and gdm wont allow me to login with root.
my question: how do i drop back to the console?

I downloaded JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 Studio And SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 Developer Previews.
I created BPEL project and I deployed on SOA suite server.
Now I want to see/monitor outputs on Console but console[DOS console] is not available. I have to login in into IE Console to check whether Instances generated or not and then when I have new instance then I can only check.
Basically I need to put logger at some level and I want to monitor them.
How can I get DOS kind Console for BPEL Process Manager or SOA Suite?
Any Idea?

soa_suite_home/opmn/logs/defaultOC4J_SOAxxxx should do it .. aside opmn.log
will help too.. (OC4J_SOA maps to the advance install, otherwise it's home)

I'm new with Hyperion and would like to ask something. I installed Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1 in my desktop (inside consist of Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, 1 GB RAM, Oracle Database 10g (10.2.0.1) Standard Edition, Oracle Application Server 10g).
I read from Hyperion Shared Services security guide in Chapter 3 about User Management Console that we can launch User Management Console in 3 ways:
1. Using a browser and connecting to the User Management Console URL
2. On Windows, navigating Start > All Programs > Hyperion > Foundation Services > User Management Console
3. From a Hyperion product interface
I tried to connect using URL : http://<localhost>/58080/interop and http://<localhost>/58080/interop/ and http://<localhost>/58080/interop/index.jsp but failed (where I changed <localhost> to my computer name). When I installed Shared Services, there are no point to choose port or create username.
There are no User Management Console in Foundation Services either.
How to start and stop Shared Services then and how do I know Shared Services has already run?

After you start the Adminserver the error is throughing then we go to the Adminserver ldap directory and rename the ldap directory.

Faking input into a console

I was just wondering how I'd go about faking input into a console, I want to be able to do this for test purposes.

When I execute this application, it's writes a DOS console. I use a System.out to print string in the DOS Console.
I try to clean DOS Console.

AFAIK, you can't send shell commands to your active shell window. So, you can either create a GUI with Swing components or something, or write like, 50 blank lines to System.out (HACK... COUGH).

I need to support UTF-8 encoding, but also running my test with -Dfile.encoding=utf-8 the result is not the expected one.
Any suggestion ?

The DOS console doesn't seem to support UTF-8 or any other Unicode encoding. On my machine (WinXP, U.S. locale), the default encoding (or "codepage") for the console is cp437, while the default value of the "file.encoding" property is cp1252. Probably your best option is to change your console's codepage to match the default file encoding: > CHCP 1252 That will at least give you consistent support for the full Latin-1 character set, which seems to be the best you can do, short of switching to a Swing text component.

Querying for users logged into attendant console with AXL (help)

I am wondering if anyone knows of any AXL commands that can be used to query who is logged into attendant console? I know that there is a perfmon counter that will tell you how many users are logged in but there is no other detail beyond that. Any help would be greatly appreciated! So after speaking with O365 Support and examining the Activesync Logs (hold down control, rt. click on the exchange tray app bottom right corner of the screen, click Test ActiveSync) we were able to see outlook trying our on-premise exchange servers first.
Despite failing on them, and moving on to activesync.outlook.com, it still would not mount the O365 mailbox & shared mailboxes appropriately. If we set DNS to manual on the workstation to publics, the problem would go away.
Disabling SCP by running the following command on both our exchange servers fixed the issue:

How to log into Mountain Lion if the FileVault user can't unlock the drive?

I have a computer that has the FileVault user not able to decrypt the drive. I've read on how to get into the machine and have successfully done so a few times. This has been accomplished by creating a new Admin user, deleting the original user, recreating it as a clean new user. Each time I give the computer back to the owner and he tries to restore from a backup. The problem is, he restores and it creates the same problem.
The most recent time he did this, I could not for the life of me figure out how to create a new user. When I try to log in as the FileVault user I get the "unable to log into filevault user account at this time" error.
The only way I could figure out how to get another admin user created so that I could delete his user was to reinstall the OS. Is that the only way this can be done?

I don't think Verizon will release the username and password to the camera administration to prevent people from doing what you want to do.
Even if you have the username / password, I would imagine there is a hefty equipment charge if you don't return the camera, which will make it cheaper to just buy a camera in retail stores.
