Gaps only in black printing at same place on page, pretty new print head

Have run diagnostics and repeatedly cleaned print heads, calibrated  etc but still getting breaks in the black printing, in same spots regardless of what's printed and across the page. Attached photos show print quality. Thanks, in advance. 

Welcome , I noticed you are getting gaps in your black and any of colour blocks that uses the yellow on your HP Officejet Pro 8000, and I think I have found some more information for you.  Note: HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink cartridges. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP ink cartridges or refilled HP ink cartridges. If you do not use genuine HP ink cartridges, the steps in this post might not resolve the issue you experiencing. ** This is also for Printheads. **  In your title, you mentioned this is a new printhead? I just want to confirm that the printhead your replaced was the HP 940 Black/Yellow Officejet Printhead. (C4900A)    It sounds like you have done a lot of troubleshooting on your own, but just to make sure you haven't missed any steps you can review these documents;HP Officejet Pro 8000 Printer Series (A809) - Troubleshooting Print Quality IssuesPoor Print Quality Immediately after Setup, an Extended Idle Period, or after Printhead Replacement (This one for sure.)  When did you replace the printhead? Consumables have there own warranties, you can review the Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges and Customer-Replaceable Printheads for HP Inkjet Supplies - then Contact HP Support for further assistance.     Hello,
    I have searched these forums but have not found a solution to my problem.
    I recently purchased an IOGear USB Print Server (print server only, not USB device server). I was having issues installing and followed a Microsoft support document to try and resolve the issue. It had me remove some entries from the registry.
    Hours later, I was able to get the printer installed and working, but I do not know if it was a result of the registry tweak. But now that it has been installed, I cannot get anything to print from Acrobat Reader (I have tried 7.0 and 8.1.1). I get the following error message:
    "Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."
    Is there something I should check in the registry to make sure that it will work? I do know for sure that it was working when it was just the printer and drivers installed, it only happened after running the print server setup. I have already tried removing the printers and drivers from the system.

    I have a problem similar to those posted here, with one difference. With my printers newly installed, regardless of which one is selected as the default, when I try to print from Adobe Reader I receive the error message we're talking about : "Before you can perform a print related task...."
    Here's the fun part.
    If I click OK on the message, ALL MY PRINTERS GET DELETED and, I get the windows message that "Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close"! If instead of clicking OK I switch to Task Manager and end Adobe, I'm fine and can print from other programs.
    I can "reset" the problem by deleting the files in C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers and C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\w32x86, restarting the machine, and deleting then reinstalling the printers (which show up again after the restart).
    BUT, if I try to print from Adobe Reader again, I get the same cycle of problems.
    I am running Windows Vista and Adobe Reader 8.1

    - Document: Security properties: Printing allowed - all other security properties: not allowed
    - Same document without security, does print without any problems.

    I am using a Mac and I'm running the latest versions of OS X 10.6.8 and Adobe 11.0.10 but I'm unable to print.  I need REAL HELP not a suggestion or a get around!  and NO print as an image doesn't work, nor do I see that as a fix!

  • I downloaded the Acrobat 11 trial and  I can open the product. During the install it deleted the existing print driver and did not install a new print driver so I CAN Not create and print pdf files.

    What OS? Have you tried a repair and updates from the HELP menu? The updates may be the key.

    I have preprinted forms on 4x6 semi-gloss paper.
    I have attemtped to print in the blank fields.
    When I press print, the printer does not consistenty begin in the same place,
    so adjusting the document/image is not applicable as it is not printing in the same place.
    I have attempted to print from Illustrator, photoshop, acrobat, word, & windows picture and fax viewer
    and got the same results.
    Printing on letter sized paper works great (and I love the printer by the way).
    Is there a hardware problem, or is it  software/driver issues?
    How do I fix this?

    I would suspect this is a hardware issue.  The rollers are probably having issues picking up the relatively smooth thick media.  You might have better results be cleaning the paper pickup rollers with a damp paper towel.  Also make sure the paper is snugly loaded and the paper guides have been correctly positioned.

  • Printer communication error and cannot add a new printer

    I was happily using my Epson Artisan 810 printer this morning, connected wirelessly to my iMac.  All of a sudden I cannot print, get "Communication Error".  Checked Epson's website, no luck there.  Re-checked my wireless settings on the printer itself and re-confirmed them, it will print test pages from the printer, but still not communicating with the iMac.  I thought that removing the printer and then adding it back in might help, but now I cannot add any printer at all.
    I resorted to my MacBook Pro, and now have the same problem with this as well.
    Any ideas please?  What else can I check.  My internet and so on are fine.  The printer itself shows the wireless icon and says the reception is excellent on the printout it produced.

    It would be unusual for only Bonjour to stop working in the printer. The more likely is that the printer is set to a different network subnet to that for your Mac or, as you mentioned, something like a firewall is blocking it.
    The IP addressing is the most common cause. If there is a process to view or print the network settings for the Epson, then this will show what IP address range it has, which should be the same as your Mac. With the IP address, there will be four sets of numbers. For a typical home network, the first three sets are known as the IP subnet, while the last set is the network address. For example, a device with an IP address of 10.0.1.5, has an IP subnet of 10.0.1 and a network address of 5. For your Mac to 'see' the printer, both devices would need the same IP subnet, while having a different network address. So if you can check what IP address the Epson has, you may find it is using a different IP subnet to your Mac.

    Hi,
    This is a issue which occurs of a missing parameter in printer settings in SAP. Ask your Basis person to check for that missing parameter.
    I also faced the same issue but I have lost the parameter name and value.

  • Can't print from Adobe Reader, "no pages selected to print"

    I can't print PDFs from Adobe Reader. I can print from any other program, just not Adobe Reader. When I click "Print", I get an error that says, "The document could not be printed". I click "OK" and then it says, "There were no pages selected to print". Even if I try to print a page at a time, it still won't work.  I have a Mac and my Adobe Reader is up to date. Any ideas?

    You should really ask in the Reader forum. Be sure to indicate the OS and printer you are trying to use, particularly if it is a network printer. Provide information about having installed the most recent printer driver if appropriate. When you open the print menu in Reader, do you have any printers in the list?

    I have a file that is 2.52MB and when I go to print it it gives me the error box "The document could not be printed" I click OK and get "There were no pages selected to print" I made sure that I chose the All pages button. I also tried the Pages and selected all the pages. But here is the funny part. I have Adobe Profesinal and I have converted imged PDF' to searchable PDF's meany times. Although the original document was already searchable I ran the convertion tool on the original searchable PDF and now the file is 33.5MB and now I can print this document. Is there a security tool that was added to the original document?

  • I have a black macbook (early 2008).  I bought a new printer that requires Mac OS X 10.6.  I only want the minimum requirements to install a new printer.

    I have seen other threads of people trying to upgrade to lion, mountain lion, but I have not seen any that mention upgrading to 10.6 alone..
    Please please help.

    Which OS X is currently installed on your Mac?
    If you aren't sure, click the Apple menu icon  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.

  • Can I edit with Smart Print the same way I could with Smartweb Printing and then save as PDF files.

    With Vista basic and SmartWeb Printing you had the option to edit your pages and then to save or print them in the PDF format. This way you could customise various pages pages, save them to a file and then reopen the whole file to see if you wanted to make any further changes before printing the final copy.

    Let the software do it for you. That will be fewer steps for you. Image-based PDFs are going to be large. There is no way around that. If they are too large, you can use Preview's Save As feature and play around with the Quartz Filter.
    Is the scanner actually doing anything differently when scanning into JPEG vs. PDF? Or is the scanning all the same and it's just the saving of the file that is different?
    Scans are scans. The JPEG file format is lossly and will look worse than other types. If you are scanning in photographs, the JPEGs will look good. If you are scanning in crisp text, JPEGS will have lots of artifacts and look bad.
    In general what dpi setting is usually sufficient to use to scan a basic text document without taking up too much file space?
    I pretty much always keep it at 300 unless I need something special or when the original is really small and I intend to blow it up.

    I have a Pages news letter ready to print and it looks fine in the view pages mode (althought the rulers are on the right side instead of centered), but when I go to print preview the whole news letter appears well to the right, no longer centered, and lower, and maybe reduced in size by 10%.     It's about the most non-intuitive thing Pages users have come across. There's no earthly reason you should have figured it out. This issue has come up about a thousand times in this discussion group.

    My wife and I just downloaded Firefox to our new Macbook Airs with Lion. The small preview box in the print layout widow does not show the page being previewed. In addition, the selected print windows are not holding from print session to print session.

    Sean, I was importing directly from the camera to Lightroom. I might add that I have been using this same procedure for a couple of years now and only within the past few weeks have the problems come up and if I made some change somewhere along the line I certainly have no idea what the change was. As I have mentioned before in some of this forums communications, when I imported directly from a card reader outside of the camera, everything was just as it should be and yet up to a couple of weeks ago, I could import directly either from the camera or a reader card with the same perfect results. (This is from my Canon XTi as I do not have a card reader yet for the G10) I would assume a card reader will work as well for the G10 and so I have ordered one and hopefully this will be a rather simple solution to the problem. As John had indicated in one of his messages he occasionally liked to import directly from the camera and I echo that as I do also.
