Garageband song is too loud exporting it from itunes

I have never had this problem befor but I used my mac mini.
Now i am using my imac and mac book pro they both have internal mics.
I tried turning the mic down but it still overloads.
I copy a song from itunes (lay it down track) then play to it.
My drum machine is low(Roland pds-30) and my itune track is ungodly loud.
I am using a Focusrite interface with stereo cables.Should i use midi cables.
am I doing somthing wrong (hooking it up.

Where is the backup of the media and other important files from the computer? Ultimately, it is the users responsibility to ensure that backups exists. Waiting until there is a problem to decide to do a backup is not smart. Would you wait until a fire started in your home to call the insurance company and inquire about homeowners/renters insurance????
In the event that no backup exists (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files):
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content. They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes. On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer. Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this.

Sound too loud and distorted from capture

It seems that for some reason when I capture video from my Sony PD170 DV camera, that the sound captured is way too loud on the timeline, even though it reads acceptable on the waveforms and the green lights that go up and down.
My last capture an hour ago, from the timeline, the sound was crakely listening through the computer speaker and headphones. I then listened through headphones directly from the original tape in the camera and it sounded ok.
Any suggestions? A problem with the compouter or a setting I need to adjust in FCP for capturing video?
At System Preferences/Sound the input volume is at half set from the internal mic.

I tried a capture from a friends camera and FCP system. Same problem on time line. Random pencil thin blank spots on the audio wave form. So it must be on the tape. Maybe bad tape, electronic interference in recording room or some camera problem recording. Used two separate wireless lavs. Drop-out in exactly same place on both channels could rule out room interference because of different frequency lavs.
I did short analogue test copy from PD170 to Trv-900 and it eliminated the drop-out. So I am now making full copy to substitute in time line.
I also think that the sound coming in with the capture is too loud and that's the possible problem, but can't figure how to change the level on a capture. Even though the waveform and meter after capture look ok, it still seems pretty loud. The audio control in the Log And Capture/Clip Settings is greyed out at 1.

Exporting playlists from iTunes - sometimes pathname is not included

Sometimes when I export a playlist from iTunes, it does not include the pathname where the playlist is located on my external hard drive. I'm not certain, but I wonder if it is because the pathname is too long. In any case, anyone have suggestions how to remedy this problem?

I should clarify. It is the pathnames to each of the songs in the playlist that do not always come through when exporting a playlist. Some do, some don't.

If you are having a problem with a song you downloaded from iTunes, you can report it to an iTunes worker and they will redownload the song for you for free. Go to the song you bought and find where it says "report a problem". Click on that, and you can explain your problem to an iTunes worker.

Exporting lists from iTunes

I am looking for some hints. I tried to print a list of tracks by album using the file/print album listing/Songs by album.
Most of my albums were as expected with the artwork on the left, the album title and the track list on the right. A few songs were out of place and i have managed to move them to the correct album in iTunes and in my music library on my hard drive. However there are a couple of albums which show up as individual entries for each song. Have tried using the get infor for all tracks and making sure that the album name is identical and also checked they are all in the same folder in my music library everything appears as expected. In iTunes and on the iPod they show up as the correct album.
Cany anyone assist with this? Also is there any way of exporting the track list into another application for manipulation/sorting etc?

Just found out you can copy/past direct from iTunes
into Excel and can make sense of the data quite
easily.
You can also use the File->Export Song List option to export the song lists to a TXT file, which is then easily imported into Excel. This gets you many, many more columns than a straight copy/paste will.

Insert the card into a card reader and connect it to your Mac. Open iTunes and when the card is mounted on the desk top highlight the songs you want and drag them from the iTunes to the card icon.
If the songs in iTunes aren't in MP3 Format you'll need to convert them before dragging them to your card. You can use iTunes to convert any copy protection free songs in your library another format. When you convert a song in iTunes it will be converted to the format that you have set to import your CDs in. Converting creates a second copy of the song in the format you have chosen which gives you the opportunity to either keep or delete the original. If you are using iTunes 8 go to Edit>Preferences>General and click on Import Settings,, Change your Import format to MP3 Encoder for example and choose the Setting or "bit rate" you want. Go back to your library and highlight the songs you want to convert and go to the Advanced menu at the top of your iTunes window and choose "Create MP3 version": iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format
One exception to this are standard copy protected songs (if you haven't upgraded to iTunes Plus versions) purchased from the iTunes Music Store which can't be directly converted due to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protection. However you can burn these to an Audio CD which will work like any regular CD.

Using iTunes you can convert the audio to MP3, which will work in Premiere Elements.
Unless it's copy protected, as many iTunes songs are. (Which is why I buy my music from Amazon.)
To get around copy protection you need to burn your iTunes songs as a CD and then use Windows Media Player to rip the music back to your hard drive as an MP3.
For best results, in fact, download the free program Audacity and use it to convert the MP3s to WAV files, the ideal audio format for Premiere Elements.
iTunes has been relaxing things a bit lately -- but it used to take a remarkably convoluted system to make their music usable in a video project!

Why are some of my songs not downloading to my ipod from iTunes?

I had downloaded all my albums from iTunes onto my iPod and then went a deleted the songs that I didn't like from the album. Later, I deleted all songs of my iPod Touch (4th Gen) and I was going to reload them all back on.
I went to drag different albums across and some albums it would add, others it wouldn't. The albums it did add only had the songs on that I didn't like (the ones that I deleted the first time)
I'm now not sure how to get the songs I want back on because when I drag a song over singley, it won't add to my iPod. I'm not to sure what to do and a little guidence would be great...

Please help, having problem with Library, had compter crash, got fixed but now cannot play most songs as it has been marked as cannot find file and has astrick in front, most songs were puchased from Itunes, cannot seem to get support from Apple, does anyone have fix, as there is 300 songs not playable, please help,

The "missing file" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. I can provide a step by step guide if you give me the two paths.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.
