Generate doc file through a web form (using Developer Server 6i)

Can anyone tell me is it possible to make a web form generate a doc file on the middle tier (Developer Server machine)?

sample usage:
  CALL FUNCTION 'HTTP_POST'
    EXPORTING
      ABSOLUTE_URI                = IM_OFX_CONTROL_DATA-ADDRESS
      REQUEST_ENTITY_BODY_LENGTH  = RESPONSE_ENTITY_BODY_LENGTH
      RFC_DESTINATION             = IM_OFX_CONTROL_DATA-HTTP_RFCDEST
      USER                        = IM_OFX_CONTROL_DATA-HTTP_USER
      PASSWORD                    = IM_OFX_CONTROL_DATA-HTTP_PASSWORD
      BLANKSTOCRLF                = 'X'
    IMPORTING
      STATUS_CODE                 = STATUS
      STATUS_TEXT                 = STATUS_TEXT
      RESPONSE_ENTITY_BODY_LENGTH = RLENGTH
    TABLES
      REQUEST_ENTITY_BODY         = LT_REQUEST
      RESPONSE_ENTITY_BODY        = RESPONSE
      RESPONSE_HEADERS            = LT_RESPONSE_HEADERS
      REQUEST_HEADERS             = LT_HTTP_HEADERS
   EXCEPTIONS
        OTHERS                      = 1.
Refer the programs:
LFPIFF02
LOFXALSU04
LPRGN_URL_RESPONSEU01
LSBCCU01
LSFTPU09
for some idea.

  • JSP : latest  JSTL, File Upload from web form Client to Server Question!

    I understand that within a JSP, It is possible to read a file from the Client by opening a Stream somehow.
    How do I code, within jsp/servlet (non tag) java code inside <% %>
    blocks, WITHOUT openening a new connection to the URL, an InputStream from a client web browser form, from a file upload coded using
    <input type="file" name="file1"/> ?
    I have previously achieved this quite simply with a FileInputStream
    with the previous version of JSTL.
    How may I do this with the latest version of JSTL, with this index.jsp?
    -with a simple text file.
    -with a Binary file (with DataInputStream)?

    If I have:

    <input name="submit1" type="submit" value="Submit" action="index.jsp"/>
    </form>
    <!-- ***********************************************************************************-->
    and run this in an index.jsp, use browse to select my text file, and click SUBMIT.
    I can use:
    InputStreamReader reader = new InputStreamReader(new DataInputStream(request.getInputStream()))
    BufferedReader bufferedReader = new BufferedReader(reader);
    bufferedReader.readLine();...
    However, these is some HTML/POST related content around what multiple readLine();
    calls return.
    Is there an easy way, like using "${param.file1}",
    aside from [http://commons.apache.org/fileupload/|http://commons.apache.org/fileupload/],
    maybe using servlet style code, to get the File contents from a remote Client,
    to the remote Server servlet engine, AVOIDING ANY SUPERFLUOUS CONTENT,
    using version 1.12 of the JSTL, JSP 2.0,Tomcat 6?
    Just politely, yes, no, and how?

  • Attaching files to a web form

    please tell me how to attach files to a web form for uploading. i know how to make a page that just uploads a file. but before i do it, i have to attach files( sent by a pop-up window ) to a web form in a main window. There are some resources about uploading files, but not for attaching files to a web form... please help me...
    Thanks in advance...

    I gotcha!
    Try this:
    1) Open new window with file inputs within a std form.
    2) Have form submit to servlet
    3) Have servlet retrieve file(s) and save them in session.
    4) Have servlet spit out javascript to close popup window and refresh main page (which will then show some sort of verification that the files were received.
    5) When main form is submitted, retireve (and remove) files from the session and process.
    Hope that helps,

  • How to generate PDF file through reports using forms 6i

    Hi all,
    I am using oracle 10g with forms 6i and reports 6i.I need to generate pdf file where clicking a button a report should be called and the report should be generated as a .pdf file in the source i have specified(ex. d:\...).Is this popssible with forms?.how can i achieve this.Kindly help me with suitable answers.Thanks :)
    Regards
    Vids

    hi,
    regarding report, there is a dedicated report forum. you should post there.
    but answer for your question is form is nothing to do with the pdf generation. you can call the report from the as usual.
    In the report you should set the properties like
    destype to 'file'
    desname to 'path with file name'
    desformat to 'pdf'

  • Error while generating XML file through RDF

    Hi,
    I wanted to generate a Report on some business case. For that I need to generate XML file first.
    For generating XML file
    1. I have built an RDF through Reports builder.
    2. Saved the report to local machine with extension .rdf
    3. Moved it to appltop/app/reports/US directory
    4. Registered tha Report with Executable of type Oracle Reports
    5. Defined Concurrent Program with OUTPUT as XML.
    When I submmitted the program, it was giving an error as follows.
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
    A semi colon character was expected. Error processing resource 'https://oaphrd.humana.com/OA_CGI/FNDWRR.exe?temp_id=2088989...
    +<?xml version="1.0" encoding="&Encoding"?>+
    But, when I tried to sane the report directly to a file (file - > generate file -> XML) the XML was generated successfully.
    How to get rid of this. Some one please help me out.
    Thanks !

    Hi,
    I found the issue and corrected it. :)
    This was happened only because of the Version problem of Report Builder with Oracle Applications.
    Reports Builder 10g is not compatiblie with Oracle Applications 11.5.10.
    Oracle 11.5+ will always expect the RDF from Reports 6i version. Because of this, the endocing was damaged.
    You can observe in the earlier post as encoding="&Endoding". Here +&Encoding should be replaced by some encoding mechanism like "UTF-8".+
    Finally corrected the version and got the Output as expected.
    Thanks !

  • Customizing Planning Web Forms using Javscript

    <p>Hi,</p><p>I am looking at writing custom javascript code for web forms. Inthis regards, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a way for meto access member properties through custom javascript. The code inSampleValidateData.js which is in the custom folder of theHyperionPlanning.war file only provides insight into accessing cellvalues and row/collumn member names and values. How is it possibleto access member properties like alias, comment field etc whichhave been entered when setting up the Dimensions throughPlanning.</p><p> </p><p>Any help will be much appreciated.</p><p> </p><p>Regards,</p><p> </p><p>Ryan</p>

    We experienced the same issue, our requirement was that for the first half of the year the substitution variable was = Oct and for the second part of the year Jan:Dec. We were lucky that for the second scenario we had a Total Year member as well (that at the bottom level is Jan:Dec). So on web form we picked Level0 descendants of the substitution variable. That worked fine but not the range.

  • Generating XSD files from an HTML form......

    What is the best way to generate XML Schema files from an HTML form? Are there any APIs, Frameworks, software products, that already do this for you? What is the best way to do this programmatically?
    I was thinking about using DOM...
    Any help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated...
    With thanks,
    Unnsse Khan

    users select what they want in their schemas
    If the Schema info is added in a JSP.
    Element Name: elementA
    Data Type: string
    Sub-Elements(Sequence): elementB, elementC
    The field values may be retreived with with the getParameter method.
    String elementName=request.getParameter("ElementName");
    String type=request.getParameter("DataType");
    From the values retreived a Schema may be constructed with the org.w3c.dom.* classes.

  • Automatically generate PDF from Oracle Applications web forms

    Hi,
    One can configure Oracle Applications to use a template (PDF, XSL, etc) for a certain web form, which basically allows the user to manually click a button on the form to Export it.
    On the other hand, how to do this automatically? In other words, is it possible to automatically export a form to PDF, and store it in DB, after a user inserts data?

    We've got a product which allows you to convert XML to PDF from a JSP. It doesn't currently take straight HTML, but the XML syntax we use is pretty similar (you can use CSS2 and so on), so for many pages it doesn't take a lot of conversion.
    If you check out http://big.faceless.org/products/report/examples.jsp you'll see a few examples, two of which are dynamically run from a JSP. There's a free trial download for you to test with (although it's a commercial product).
    Hope that helps.
