  • No save and no copy/paste of reports containing charts ??

    Hello,
    is it correct that there is really no option to save generated reports containing charts (bar / pie) to e.g. the html-format ? Or at least to select the graphic, press "CTRL-C" and in another application (e.g. Word or Excel) "CTRL-V" ?
    This generally normal functionality seems really to be missed and is really important for us. Is there anybody out there who can help on this topic ?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Best regards

    Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
    Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
    If the problem is present in the test account also, then it is systemwide. In this case try repairing this with the 10.5.5 Combo Update This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
    Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
    If the problem does not appear in the test account try starting in "Safe Mode" (It will take a bit more time to startup because it runs a directory check first).
    If that works go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If there are still problems, go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving /Users/Home)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
    Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
    Let us know.

  • Ordering messed up when generating Report as Delimited on Server

    Hi folks,
    Not sure if anyone else might have observed or faced this issue but thought I'd give it a try. I have an Oracle Report (Version 6i) and the output generated should be a tab delimited text file so the user can view the output in Excel. The Report output is sorted by Name. When I run the Report locally (Client) by doing File -> Generate to File -> Delimited (Delimiter Option: Tab), the Report works fine. The ordering is correct. However, when I am running it off the server (Using the option DELIMITED for the DESFORMAT), the ordering seems messed up. The ordering is maintained for quite a few rows and then a Name (out of order appears). Note that this record also appears in the correct place as well as above the place where its expected to be ... Here is an example:
    Name                     ID     BIRTH DATE
    ==========================================
    ALLAN, BRIAN             1001   1970/12/31
    ALLAN, SUSAN             2001   1968/01/01
    FRANCIS, JOHN            5001   1965/02/01
    BROWN, EDWARD            3001   1978/01/02
    BROWN, JENNY             4001   1976/04/01
    FRANCIS, JOHN            5001   1965/02/01
    GRAHAM, DALE             6001   1980/10/10As you can see that FRANCIS, JOHN is appearing out of order and in order (Twice). This is not happening when I run it on the Client. Any ideas what may be causing this? I realize I don't have much information out here as I myself am at my wits end.
    Thanks

  • Error While generating Report

    Hi ,
    I am facing 1 problem while generating Report.
    I am trying to generate a report based on one Users global attribute.
    I have customized the USER UI CONFIG and Uer Report task to generate a report like this.
    I created a new report to generate report and in that report I have given the condition as that attribute equals to some value "true" / "False".
    But there are some users who has this attribute value as true and whose accounts are not properly created in a resource LDAP So this User view is containing some error.
    Hence when I try to run the newly created report as it tries to iterate on the user objects whose view is containg some errors ,the report is not properly getting generated and giving exception as error in calling the method getResourceobjects on LDAP.
    What can I do now ? What is the alternative for me? I want to generate the report on that attribute only.....
    It is very urgent for me and Can anyone please help me out....
    it would be so great if there is any immediate reponse for this.

  • Best way to generate report on huge data table

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle11g.
    I want to generate reports on transaction tables containing huge amount of data, on which very frequently DMLs are performing in real time.
    i want to keep my report/result in RESULT_CACHE for 15 mins. active. whenever any insert/update runs on main tables the RESULT_CACHE is getting invalidated
    my question is can i control/stop RESULT_CACHE relies on(table_name) invalidating, as Oracle11g invalidating RESULT_CACHE automatically.
    my requirement is to not hit the main table again&again.
    pls help..
    Thanks in advance.

    It sounds as if you're trying to avoid contention on a very busy large table while users are experimenting with relatively small fractions of the total data set. The type of thing you're doing is probably about the best approach - though it sounds as if you are not using global temporary tables which could save you a bit of time and contention when refreshing each private data set.
    Ideally, though, you probably want a front end tool that does client-side caching - i.e. pulls the data into the front-end tool and lets the user rearrange it cosmetically there until the user explicitly requests a new trip to the database. I think Oracle Discoverer has (had) some capability in this area. What's the scale of the work the users are doing - can you give us a few scenarios about how much raw data they will extract and what they want to do with it before they refresh it ?

    P.S. Oracle does have client-side caching technology - but your ability to use it is dependent on the tools you use. You might want to go over to one of the developer or BI forums to see what they say about this problem; they may give you a different perspective on it.

  • Generate report from database using .xsl style sheet

    I am trying to view test result histories for specific uut serial numbers.
    We are logging all test data to the default access database template that was provided with Teststand.
    Is there a method of generating reports from the database that match the format of those generated at runtime?
    I was surprised to find that the default access database did not contain any gui or pre-made reports matching the xsl style sheets chosen in the report options dialog.
    My database skills are weak, I am able to browse the raw data and I see the relationships between some of the tables, but the prospect of recreating one of the xml report formats in access seems daunting. Am I missing something? what is the best way to print a uut report from test data stored in access?

    Hello msears,
    Thank you for posting on the NI Discussion Forums.  Unfortunately there are no tools available in TestStand for directly converting an Access database to a formatted .xsl report.  It is possible to have a step in a sequence that reads the information from the database, and create the .xsl report as if it had been generated at sequence run-time, by writing those values directly to Locals.ResultList.  Admittedly, this would require some knowledge of Microsoft Access, and the ability to write a program that will extract information from the database, in order to include it as a step in the sequence.
    Is there anything stopping you from creating a formatted .xsl report when the sequence is run (instead of trying to create it from previous data stored in an Access database)?

  • Error in Generating reports with large amount of data using OBIR

    Hi all,
    we hve integrated OBIR (Oracle BI Reporting) with OIM (Oracle Identity management) to generate the custom reports. Some of the custom reports contain a large amount of data (approx 80-90K rows with 7-8 columns) and the query of these reports basically use the audit tables and resource form tables primarily. Now when we try to generate the report, it is working fine with HTML where report directly generate on console but the same report when we tried to generate and save in pdf or Excel it gave up with the following error.

  • DataProcessor generating XML containing special ampersand, equals sign etc

    Hi,
    Using 10.1.3.3.3
    I am using the BIP API's to generate reports for an application, but have a problem where the DataProcessor is generating XML containing ampersands and equal signs '&', '=' from the database.
    The characters are causing the FOProcessor to throw and exception when reading the generated XML:
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Expected name instead of .
    08/08/06 12:12:22 at oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLError.flushErrors1(XMLError.java:320)
    If I remove the '&' and '=' the PDF is generated successfully.
    It is not pratical to convert these characters as part of the queries (40+ tables times x columns).
    Is there anything I can put in the data template or config to get it to properly escape these characters when generating in the XML data?
    Apologies if this has been answered in another thread.
    Brenden

    You must replace '&' by &
    '=' work fine.
    look here for additional character encoding

  • How to generate report with dynamic variable number of columns?

    How to generate report with dynamic variable number of columns?
    I need to generate a report with varying column names (state names) as follows:
    SELECT AK, AL, AR,... FROM States ;
    I get these column names from the result of another query.
    In order to clarify my question, Please consider following table:
    CREATE TABLE TIME_PERIODS (
    PERIOD     VARCHAR2 (50) PRIMARY KEY
    CREATE TABLE STATE_INCOME (
         NAME     VARCHAR2 (2),
         PERIOD     VARCHAR2 (50)     REFERENCES TIME_PERIODS (PERIOD) ,
         INCOME     NUMBER (12, 2)
    I like to generate a report as follows:
    AK CA DE FL ...
    PERIOD1 1222.23 2423.20 232.33 345.21
    PERIOD2
    PERIOD3
    Total 433242.23 56744.34 8872.21 2324.23 ...
    The TIME_PERIODS.Period and State.Name could change dynamically.
    So I can't specify the state name in Select query like
    SELECT AK, AL, AR,... FROM

  • DFSR Health Report Problem - 3 methods of generating reports give 3 different outputs

    Hello,
    I am trying to implement a monitoring solution for DFSR by having a script generate a health report and send it to me. I have one replication group with 2 members and 2 replicated folders.
    The script looks like this:
    # Write DFS Health Report
    Write-DfsrHealthReport -GroupName "RG1" -ReferenceComputerName "SRV1" -MemberComputerName "SRV1", "SRV2" -Path "D:\Logs" -CountFiles
    # Get the 2 newest files -- these were just generated by Write-DFSRHealthReport
    $new_report = Get-ChildItem "D:\Logs |
    Sort-Object -Property LastWriteTime -Descending |
    foreach {$_.fullname} |
    Select-Object -First 2
    # Send email with attachments
    $mail_parms = @{'To' = "me";
    'SmtpServer' = "";
    'Subject' = "DFSR Health Report for $(Get-Date)";
    'From' = "SRV1";
    'Attachments' = $new_report
    Send-MailMessage @mail_parms
    Now here's the fun part:
    1) When I run a health report using the GUI, I get a nice, clean report with no errors.
    2) When I run my script from a non-elevated ISE, I get the following errors:
    - Server 1 shows DFS Replication problems due to temporary attributes
    - Server 2 shows as unavailable for reporting because, according to that, I am not an administrator
    3) When I run the script form an elevated ISE, both servers show errors about replication problems related to temporary attributes.
    I can tell you that:
    - The account I am using has administrator rights on both servers
    - I have checked that the account has proper permissions in WMI
    - When I check for the temporary attribute using Get-Childitem cmdlet (from an elevated PS) nothing shows up.
    - I have restarted dfsr service on both servers, no change
    So my questions:
    1) Why am I getting the WMI error of not being an administrator when I AM an administrator? And why am I getting them only when generating a report using the script and not when I am generating it using the GUI?
    2) Why am I getting errors about temporary attributes when I have removed them?
    Kind regards,
    Wojciech

    Hello,
    A small update on this. I figured out that I can also generate an health report containing errors regarding temporary attributes using the GUI. Those errors appear when I choose the option to count the files in the replicated folder. If I leave the option
    unchecked, the report comes back clean.
    So one problems is pretty much solved. The question is why do I get those errors?
    This is exactly what's shown:
    ========
    One or more replicated folders have content skipped by DFS
    Replication.
    Affected replicated folders:
    Homedir
    Description:
    DFS Replication does not replicate certain files in the replicated folders
    listed above because they have temporary attribute set, or they are symbolic
    links . This problem is affecting at least 100 files in 1 replicated folders (up
    to 100 occurences per replicated folder are reported). Event ID: 11004
    Last occurred:
    9 marca 2015 at 12:32:14 (GMT1:00)
    Suggested action:
    Verify that the files you want to replicate are not temporary and not
    symbolic links.
    <v:vmlframe class="pm1" src="#Minus"></v:vmlframe>Homedir Replicated folder
    File path:
    D:\Homedir
    Files that cannot be
    replicated under the replicated folder (100):
    Relative path and
    file name
    \4B66DB44.wmf
    \4AA5E9D0.wmf
    \49499C1F.wmf
    =======
    The list contains 100 files, with about 90% of .wmf files, some .emf files and I think one .dat file. What is quite irritating, is that I cannot find any of the files listed in the replicated folder. Let's try to find any .emf files:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-ChildItem -Recurse -path d:\homedir | Where-Object {$_.Extension -eq ".emf"}
    PS C:\Windows\system32>
    Nothing...
    I have tried 2 methods of checking for temporary attributes, none of them produced any results:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-childitem D:\Homedir -recurse | ForEach-Object -process {if(($_.attributes -band 0x100) -eq
    0x100) {write-output $_}}
    PS C:\Windows\system32>PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-ChildItem -Recurse -File -Attributes Temporary -path D:\Homedir
    PS C:\Windows\system32>
    I'm quite puzzled here, I don't know what else I can try.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Wojciech

  • Report with Barcode javabean

    Hi,
    I have made a JSP report using barcode javabean provided by the Oracle. Appropriate codes were inserted in the web source of report. When I preview in paper layout I don't see any barcode image, and in web layout mode it is working fine and barcode is rendered. But when I deployed the report in Report server and run it via http request, report was generated as seen in paper layout mode. Can anybody tell me how to get the same output from report server as web layout.
    Thanks
    P.D.

    Hi PD,
    To get the web layout output, you need to deploy the JSP report on OC4J and run it as a JSP, not via rwservlet.
    Follow the steps given in Publishing Reports, Section 13.3:

  • Generating reports in Designer 9.

    Hi all.
    I want to generate reports, that has both a header- and a trailer section page.
    Usually this was part of the template report, but in Designer 9, the generator first converts the template report (.rdf) to a template report (.tdf), and is then using this template.
    But where is the header- and trailer page? You can't see them in the reports builder, when looking at templates. And the generated report does not contain any header- nor trailer pages.
    Have I missed something?
    Any replies welcome...
    Benny Albrechtsen

    Hi ,
    Thanks for your patience . Please try this . This is from documentation .
    1)The template will be applied to the current section of the report (the section displayed in the Paper Layout view) by default. If no section is displayed, the template will be applied to the Main Section of the report by default. If you select the node for the entire report in the Object Navigator, the template will be applied to the Main Section of the report by default. To apply the template to a specific section of your report, select the node for that section in the Object Navigator.
    So after applying template to the main section , please try by applying it individually to header and trailer sections in object navigator .
    Can you first please try by applying a template (.tdf) file , rather than a .rdf file ?
    2) >>Now, in the documentation for Designer, it says, that I can use a standard report (.rdf) file as a template in the generation process. <<
    Can you please tell the section in documentation where this is mentioned ?
    Thanks

  • REP-1247: Report contains uncompiled PL/SQL.

    Hi learned friends
    I have created a batch script that runs rdf generates pdf reports for me at each eod run.
    The report errors out:
    REP-0736: There exist uncompiled program unit(s).
    REP-1247: Report contains uncompiled PL/SQL.
    This is the command i execute:
    /udd001/app/oracle/product/dev60/bin/rwrun60 userid=/ report=/udd001/app/mu_tosd/ci/reports/GT0009R.rdf paramform=no destype=file batch=yes desformat=pdf mode=bitmap desname=/udd001/app/mu_tosd/ci/eodreport/GT0009R.pdf nonblocksql=no
    Now I have compiled all (Ctrl+Shift+K) successfully.
    Thanks a mil guys

    Hi,
    1) did you save the compiled reports?
    2) is the connect string you use to compile the reports with the same as the connect string you use when you run your reports in your batch?
    hope this helps,
    E.

  • How to generate report from two tables using DAO design pattern?

    Hi,
    Iam using struts with DAO pattern for my application. According to DAO design im creating model class for each table in my database with getter,setter methods. i have no problem when im generating report from one table. but if have i have to join two tables whatis the better way for doing that? is it good practise to create a new model contains properties from both the tables?
    Please help me
    Thanks in Advance
    Rajesh

    Dear Rajesh,
    As per the pattern you are creating equivalent java objects for every database table under consideration in which each db field will become a private attribute and public getter and setter methods.
    If you have to display data from one table the above approach is sufficient enough.
    But in case your database is normalised ..lets take an example of Bank having Branch and Accounts tables. We dont need to repeat the whole information of the branch for every account in that branch. so we prefer to have a branch id in that table....this approach lot of insertion/deletion/updatation anomlies that may exists with the database...
    now lets come back to our topic....we shall create two java objects 1) Branch 2) Account.....
    When ever u just need to display simple report u can do it staright forward,,,,,now if u want to display branch information along with the account information....the two objects just created are not sufficient
    So i suggest u the following approaches
    1) Create an attribute of type Branch in the Accounts Object......
    This shall serve the purpose of displaying the Btranch information
    2) Create a collection object of type ( Vector or ArrayList) which can have objects of Account in the Branch Object,,,
    Now its upto u how shall u fill up the objects with appropriate sql queries.
    The method that i mentioned is followed by Oracle Toplink and Hibernate ....which provide Object to relation mapping layers.
    Any queries ...revert back to me...
    Mahesh
