Generate WAR files from WEB projects

Can I generate war files with my web projects?, i have some portal and proccess
projects, and i need to generate wars. If i can generate ear files it´s great.
Does someone knows to do it?

Build => Build Ear.
You can unzip that to find the war issuppose.
Maybe right clicking on your web project and doing "build ..." might
generate a war in your project directory too.

How to deploy a war file from a different app server to the SAP one

I hve recieved a war file from Tomcat that needs to be deployed on the SAP Java App server. As far as I know the SDM only allows to deploy ear files. How can I deploy this war to the app server?

Hi Roy,
in order to deploy the WAR file you have to wrap an EAR around it. I had the same problem.
You can do this using Netweaver Developer studio.
Perform the following steps:
- Start NWDS
- Create a New Enterprise Application Project
- Create a New Web Module Project (name it like your war file => e.g. your war file is called myApp.war => call your Web Module myApp)
- Edit the application.xml of your Enterprise App if necessary (description, Displayname etc.)
- Link your Web Archive to your application archive (right Mouse click on Application Archive and from the Context Menu choose "Add Modules" => In the list choose your Web Module)
=> You can also perform a right mouse click on your web Module and from the context menu choose "Add to EAR Project" => In the list choose your Enterprise Application!
- Build Web Archive (right mouse click on your Web Module and from the context menu choose "Build Web Archive" => This will create a war file that has the same name as your war file! => If you do not see it try to switch to resource perspective!)
- Build Application archive (right mouse click on Application archive => from the context menu choose "Build Application Archive")
You are done
The EAR file is generated and will be created in your workspace.
Now browse to your workspace. Unpack the EAR using WinZip or any other Archiver program.
Replace the contained war with your war and repack the ear file (You can also use tools like Total Commander to directly replace the war file in the EAR with your war without having to unpack the war). You can also import your war into NWDS and rebuild it so you won't have to replace the WAR in the EAR but as your WAR is already built I would just replace it as described!
You can now deploy the ear file to SAP J2EE

Hello, I mean tomcat of jakarta.apache.org project- it's web container but .war file is web application archive as specified in servlet 2.2 spec.

Web UI is future(IE 5.5/w3 and other standards based;) so why put on it such restrictions.

Hi.
We've seen that error too few times.
We downloaded the sourcecode for the wdsl generator and discovered,
that in our case, it was because we had no user defined objects.
Its actually a bug as far as I can see, where the wdsl generator tries
to enumerate a empty recordset, and crashes.

I am using BO XI R2, webi I am generating a ad-hoc report, when I want to give a filter condition for a report, the condition should be uploaded from a .txt file. In the current scenario we have LOV, but LOV could hold only a small number of value, my requirement is just like a lov but the list of values will be available in a text file ( which could number to 2000 or 2500 rows). I would like to upload this 2500 values in the form of a flat text file to make a query and genrate report. Is it possible in BO XI? For Eg:- Select * from Shipment Where u201CShipment id = u2018SC4539u2019 or Shipment id = u2018SC4598u2019u201D The u201Cwhereu201D condition (filter) which has shipment id will be available in a text file and it needs to be loaded in the form of .txt file so that it will be part of the filter condition. This User does not have the access to Tcode ST01.
The user executed Tcode SU53 immediately following the authorization failure to see the authorization objects. The 'Authorization obj' is blank and under the Description it has 'The last Authorization check was successful' with green tick mark.

Generate pdf file from 9i reports and save it in C:\oracle_reports\

i want to generate a file from oracle reports in PDF format and want to save it on already defined path.
c:\oracle_reports\
right now pdf generation of report is working fine but before generation of pdf report system prompt me or open a dialogue box to save my pdf file on drive. i dont want to see these dialogue box or prompt me to explicitly save it.
i want all the work done automatically.

I am trying to generate xml file from a word file.
but i am stucked with how to do it? any kind of help will be useful.
i think for doing this work i have to develop XSD file, because when i am creating the xml file, the hidden space within the word file is not catched.

after searching on the net i came to know that org.apache.poi.hwpf.* is used for reading word file and its contents. for converting it to xml i have to use org.exolab.castor.xml.*
now my problem is that POI is in its early beta version and there is no help or any sample examples for understanding the api.
so if you have any idea regarding it, please write to me.

You downloaded the wrong XML Parser!
XSQL requires Java Parser. Well, there's a copy included with the XSQL package so you actually don't need to do another download.
You really don't need XSQL if you just want a XML file from DB, you just needed a XML SQL Utility. Download that and run the samples.

Not able to open PDF files from Web

Sometimes reader 9.3.1 in IE on Windows 7 stops working and it is not possible to display any more PDF files from web. Reinstall helps for a while.
By looking into running programs I found the acrobroker.exe starts and immediatelly shuts down. After a while IE responds with a generic acrobat problem that asks me to shutdown acrobat reader and start it again.
Any idea what might be wrong?

How to upload Unicode encoding files from web?

Hi everyone,
I do not manage to upload Unicode encoding CSV files from web. Currently I use class CL_HTMLB_MANAGER to upload file from web. It works fine with ANSI encoding files, but file content is not uploaded correctly with Unicode encoding files. Especially I get innumerable characters u201C#u201D throughout the string that contains the file content (For example instead of u201CSAP CATALOG CSV 2.0u201D I get u201CÿþS#A#P# #C#A#T#A#L#O#G# #C#S#V# #2#.#0#u201D).
I did not find in forums a solution to my issue that is why I am now asking for your help.
How can I upload Unicode encoding files from web? Do you know another way to upload file from web that is Unicode compatible?
Remark: I tried to upload Unicode encoding files from SAP GUI using function module GUI_UPLOAD and upload is successful.

JAXB has been available as an early release download for some time. There are also XML Binding packages available from Borland (JBuilder) and Castor. These tools create Java classes from a source document, xml,dtd etc. You can use these classes to marshal-unmarshal XML documents.
