Generating an Encrypted PDF Report

Hi,
I hope that someone will be able to help met with my question!
Some of the pdf reports we generate needs to be encrypted. Is there a way to code/specify the encryption in Report Builder (9.0.4.0.33) when the report is designed so that the request automatically generates an encrypted pdf? Or is this setup done in Oracle?
Or do you have any other advice on how to enable encryption for only specific requests?

It allows you to assign a password for opening the document, but I do not see an encryption option. Maybe it is encrypted when using the password option. I am not sure.

Generatation of 4 PDF Reports from One Oracle reports 10 G

Hi All,
i am generating 4 PDF reports from one Oracle reports in 10 G.
i used RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built in 4 times with some different parameter list at a single time.
some time it generates but some time it generate 2 or 3 out of 4.
Can you anyone help me on this issue.

Need to change auto generated text from pdf report

I have implemented pdf but it generated text from the autogenrated xml.
If I need to change that text then what should I want to do for that?

Is it possible to generate Html and Pdf report format for multi byte charecter ???

I have gererated a PDF report for Chines Simplified, i set the NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16BIG5 in my report server, the PDF format report is working fine, But the HTML report comes junk , Suppose if i change the NLS_LANG to AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8 HTML format works fine, but not PDF.
Plz let me know how to solve this problem.

Storing oracle-reports generated pdf-report onto a blob

Hey ppl,
I have this requirement:
I basically generate a report from Jdev using a remote servlet call to oracle reports, which very neatly generates the pdf document for me and stores it locally. The problem is immediately storing this onto the DB as a blob once the report is generated. I know how to store the pdf as a blob onto the DB. I know how to make the call to oracle-reports and generate my pdf. What I don't know is to sequentially first generate the local pdf report and only once that has been generated proceed to store it onto my DB.
I want it to be done within the scope of a single request. As in, the entire process should be complete through one cycle. I don't want to keep a day end sort of procedure that inserts into the db at the end of the day.
As soon as the report has been requested by the user, I want the pdf file(which is generated by the reports) to also be stored onto the DB.
My problem (which i apologize has been repeated already 2wice above) is that I basically lose control once redirected through the servlet to the report call. There is no way i can instruct Jdev, from the reports side, that the pdf has been generated and now has to be stored onto the DB, as i have lost the session context by redirecting to a different servlet.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

its quite some time ago that I a looked Oracle Reports, however, I think that the event mechanism is quite complex to achieve
I want it to be done within the scope of a single request.
Which means that if Oracle Reports hangs, the user session follows.
As in, the entire process should be complete through one cycle.
Unfortunately you don't control how long reports run, which means that there is no sense in stopping the page lifecycle for this

Fair enough, but as far as I remember there is an eventing in Reports that would allow you to have the Oracle Reports Server triggering the upload
So I think, the architecture I would go for is:
- user requests report
- report generates PDF output
- reports uploads to DB
- reports_processing table holds user ID and reports ID plus flag to update when report is done
- If using JSF, you could use af:poll to check frequently for the report to be finished.

Pdf reports on webtoGo ? urgent plz

Hi ,
I developed a webtogo offline application and successfully generated the jasper pdf reports on local jdeveloper.Now i am publishing the same on olite server.
The pdf report first save in /report folder and then open on popup in a new window(works fine on local machine with jdev).
Now i have a doubt if the same works on server too?
Does my code works or not?

Does this work on webtogo?How does it look for the location of reports folder and then the xml file?

Problem while generating Encrypted PDF in batch

Hi PPl
I am generating encrypted PDF in batch. I have one requirement to generate about 1 lakh PDFs.
But when i start my batch initially it works fine but after generating round about 25 PDF my program get
stuck at Document.copyToFile method and after that it again generates around 5-6 PDF and stops for a while
at the same place.
I have tried the same program to generate PDF without Encryption and it works very fine.
Guys i need your help to solve this issue.

Report: generate to file pdf format

Hi folks,
I have made a report which displays all data on preview and on printer. But when I use generate to file PDF option it misses data from columns at right hand side. The report has more than 15 columns and uses smaller font size.
Kindly somebody help me in this regards.

Do the column headings display ok but the data does not?
If so it may be related to the font size. i.e. the whole report may not fit on the page when scaled for pdf output.

we are working in oracle applications 11i.
we have a custom salary slip report that is built with Oracle Reports Builder and run as a PDF report in Oracle HRMS.
I need to find a solution to generate the reports/pdf files of all employees in one run/click, name each output file according to employee number and month in the report, save them all in a folder.
How can I do this from either, reports builder, or Oracle applications?

I need to find a solution to generate the reports/pdf files of all employees in one run/clickYou can write a PL/SQL program which will dynamically submit the concurrent request for the report multiple times with different parameters. You will need to run the calling PL/SQL program only once.
name each output file according to employee number and month in the reportThe output files generated are named according to Oracle EBS convention(like o<req_id>.out). I do not know of any way by which the output file names can be changed. You can however generate the report title dynamically, depending on the input parameter.
save them all in a folderOutput files are generally stored in $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT. This location can be changed but it will affect all concurrent programs and not just your report.

Pdf reports not getting generated

Hello All,
We are having an issue in generating the pdf reports.. we are getting errors as mentioned below
REP-0069: Internal error
REP-57054: In-process job terminated:Terminated with error:
We went through the below mentioned note as well :
REP-0069, REP-57054, REP-3000 in R12
Our's is a multi tier Oracle E-Business suite setup with multiple nodes as mentioned below:
a , b -- Web and forms
c, d -- Concurrent tier nodes
e, f -- Database tier nodes
In the $APPL_TOP we did the below command to see what is setting for the DISPLAY environment variable.
grep DISPLAY *.env
it gave the results as mentioned below :
instancename_a.env : export DISPLAY=a:311.0
instancename_b.env : export DISPLAY=b:311.0
instancename_c.env: export DISPLAY=c:311.0
instancename_d.env: export DISPLAY=d:311.0
Could someone please advise and help us regards this as to what all needs to be checked and verified for a multiple node instance ..we are not able to get which is that environment setting which is incorrect or missing which is causing these seeded report related error messages.
