ipod nano 7th generation having issues with the UI. Out of box everything worked great. Once I snyc the device and it finished, the UI becomes unuesable. You have to double tap every icon in order to open music, videos, etc. I cannot swipe to the second page of icons, black box appears around an icon and then switches to a different one anytime I swipe. A box even appears around the time and battery power. iPod & iTunes are both updated. What is the FIX on this issue?

I had this problem as well. This is what I found by searching online. I tried the fix on my nano 7th gen and it worked. I hope this helps you. Make sure to use two fingers for sliding and double-click the icons to get into settings. Good luck.
It would seem that Voiceover has been enabled on your iPod Nano. The following article contains information regarding Voiceover, and how to disable it once it's been enabled.
iPod nano (6th generation and later): How to use VoiceOver
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4317
To turn off VoiceOver on iPod nano using VoiceOver gestures
From the Home Screen, swipe right or left with two fingers until you see or hear "Page 2 of 2" on iPod nano (7th generation) or "Settings" on iPod (6th generation).
If the icons have been rearranged, or if there are more than four Home screens, you may hear something different.
Slide one finger around the screen until you hear Settings.
Double-tap to open Settings.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear General, then double- tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear Accessibility, then double-tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear VoiceOver, then double-tap.
Double-tap when you hear "VoiceOver switch button on."
You'll hear "VoiceOver off" to confirm the setting. Now you can use standard gestures to control iPod nano.
Note: You can also turn off VoiceOver by resetting your iPod.

• Uniqueness for xml element is not validated with the xsd:unique

Hi
I am using <xsd:unique> to specify uniqueness for certain elements in the schema. But when i create the xml for the schema,it allows me to create elements with duplicate values for which the uniqueness is defined and also it is allowed to parse the xml correctly.I am using jaxb2.0 and jaxp2.0 to bind the xml and parse it. The schema is described below :

Well there's nothing wrong with your schema (I copyied it into XMLSpy and wasn't able to create two artifacts with the same name). My guess is that JAXB still does not support xsd:unqiue

• Adapter Module: Validate an XML with an XSD

Hello all,
I'm developing a PI adapter module (Exchange Infrastructure 3.0) for the Mail Adapter. In this module I need to get each XML attachment and then validate with an XSD schema, for this I'm using the SAX parser.
I successfully retrieved all XML attachments but when I'm trying to use the method setProperty of the SAXParser instance I'm getting an exception, bellow the code snippet.
private static final String SCHEMA_LANGUAGE = "http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage";
private static final String SCHEMA_SOURCE   = "http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource";
private static final String XML_SCHEMA      = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema";
public boolean isValid(byte[] src, AuditMessageKey amk1){
SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
SAXParser sp = null;
spf.setNamespaceAware(true);
spf.setValidating(true);
String[] schemas = new String[MAX_SCHEMAS];
schemas[0] = getClass().getResource(SCHEMA1).getFile();
schemas[1] = getClass().getResource(SCHEMA2).getFile();
schemas[2] = getClass().getResource(SCHEMA3).getFile();
try {
sp = spf.newSAXParser();
catch (Exception e){
Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk1, AuditLogStatus.ERROR, "MultipleAttachments: Error creating parser.");
return false;
// HERE IS THE STEP THROWING THE EXCEPTION
try {
sp.setProperty(SCHEMA_LANGUAGE, XML_SCHEMA);
catch (Exception e){
Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk1, AuditLogStatus.ERROR, "MultipleAttachments: Error setting schema.");
return false;
Did Anyone have faced this issue? How can I solve this?
Best regards,
David

Hi David,
we developed a xsd validation with java mapping.
SAP has it's own parser. At the time we developed there was a bad bug in this parser. The parser throwed a fatal error although the xml was valid!
SAP corrected the error. But this is over 1,5 years ago. I recommend a OSS .

• In Delayed Pulse Generation vi,Problem With THE PULSE WIDTH??

In Delayed Pulse Generation vi, I want to input a very low number for the Pulse Width while using an external timebase source. But the minimum pulse width has to be 2. Does anyone know how can I solve this problem??

Hey 45,
Unfortunately, there is no way to generate a pulse width smaller than 2x your external timebase.
There is an option to create a pulse of arbitrary width of your external source if you can afford some software processing in between. What you can do is use 1 counter to measure how many source edges of your card's internal timebase (80 MHz for TIO only, 20MHz or 100kHz for TIO and STC) your external signal is. This uses pulse width measurement as the counter application. Once you know how many source edges it takes to represent your pulse, then you can use triggered pulse generation and use the internal timebase with the pulse specs set to create the exact pulse width you want (and delay) and you can use your external pulse as the trigger. Th
is works well if your pulse is always the same width and you can measure it before hand. As an example, let's say your pulse is 20 internal timebase pulses when measured. This means you can use the pulse specs to specify a pulse width of 0.75 your pulse width by using only 15 internal timebase edges for your pulse width.
I don't know if I was clear above or not but if you give me your exact application you are looking to achieve, I might be able to help you out. Hope that helps.

• I have a generation 1 Appletv with the hard drive. I have just bought a new mac, but cant seem, to sync photos back to appletv hard drive anymore, i know the Imac is syncing with it because i purchased a movie from Apple TV and it loaded it reg on iMac

Can anyone help me with a generation1 appletv compatability with new Imac question?

Hi louchad,
The article below should help you sync the photos from your iMac to your Apple TV:
Apple TV (1st generation): Syncing photos via iTunes
The article explains this in more detail with screen shots, but the key points are summarized below for you:
To sync photos from a Mac or Windows PC to Apple TV (1st generation) using photo applications
Make sure you have iTunes 9.0.2 or later.
In iTunes, select the Apple TV icon in the Devices list.
Click the Photos tab.
Select "Sync photos from: ..."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Note: Some versions of Photoshop Album and Photoshop Elements don't support collections. You can still use them to sync all your photos.
If you want to sync all your photos, select "All photos, albums, events, and faces." If you want to sync photos from only some albums, events, faces, or collections, choose "Selected albums, events, and faces…" and select the albums or collections you want.
To sync photos from a folder on your hard disk to Apple TV (1st generation)
Drag the images you want into a folder on your computer. If you want images to appear in separate photo albums on Apple TV (1st generation), create folders inside the main image folder, and drag images into the new folders.
In iTunes, select the Apple TV icon in the Devices list.
Choose "Sync photos from: ..."
Select "Choose Folder" from the pop-up menu and select your image folder.
I hope this information helps ...

• Using perl with the HTTP POST method to exchange XML with the Auth service

Has anyone written a perl script to do this yet?
I've been trying all day and keep getting "Content is not allowed in prolog.
I've used the example xml from the docs

<AuthContext version="1.0">
<Request authIdentifier="0">
<NewAuthContext orgName="dc=exampleorg,dc=com">

</Request>
</AuthContext>
Then I read the python post at http://swforum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=79&threadID=22370
and the error changed to Premature end of file.
this is the portion of perl that is getting the error:
use strict;
use LWP::UserAgent;
use HTTP::Request::Common;
my $browser = LWP::UserAgent->new(agent => 'xml client');
my $greeting = <<GREETING;

<RequestSet vers="1.0" svcid="auth" reqid="1">
<Request>

<AuthContext version="1.0">
<Request authIdentifier="0">
<NewAuthContext orgName="dc=belo,dc=com">

</AuthContext></Request>
</RequestSet>
GREETING
my $response = $browser->request(POST 'http://idpoc1.test.belo.com/amserver/authservice',
Content_Type => 'text/xml',
Content     => [xmlRequest => $greeting]
print $response->error_as_HTML unless $response->is_success;

Your problem seems to lie in the build of the request. Here you use the "sample=$data" which will invalidate the XML itself. I've tested your code changing only the build of the Request and this works fine! Given an XML like this :

<data>
<txnInfo sourcePartnerCode="6" txnDate="2005.09.08"/>
<unitOfWorkInfo sourceTicketID="SourceTicket_1" diaryEntry="Diray_1" Status="Status_OK"/>
</data>
The Server Stub should look like this :
#!/usr/bin/perl
use XML::Simple;
use Data::Dumper;
print qq{Content-type: text/xml\n\n};
if($ENV{'REQUEST_METHOD'} eq "GET"){
$my_data = $ENV{'QUERY_STRING'};
print "jfghdsfjghsdg$my_data";
} else {
$data_length = $ENV{'CONTENT_LENGTH'};
$bytes_read = read(STDIN, $my_data, $data_length);
print "$bytes_read, $my_data";
$xml = new XML::Simple (KeyAttr=>[]);
print "have passed XML::Simple creation\n";
$data = $xml->XMLin("$my_data");
print "i want to be here \n";
$transcode=$data->{txnInfo}->{sourcePartnerCode};
#print "$data->{txnInfo}->{sourcePartnerCode}";
print $transcode;
CASE: {
($transcode==6) && do {
print "i am here";
$lstmoddat=$data->{txnInfo}->{txnDate};
$srctktid=$data->{unitOfWorkInfo}->{sourceTicketID};
$actvtylogdesc=$data->{unitOfWorkInfo}->{diaryEntry};
$status=$data->{unitOfWorkInfo}->{Status};
$command='bop_cmd -f update1.frg "upd_stats("""Administrator""","""'.$srctktid.'""","""FIP""","""what is this???""")"';
print "$lstmoddat $srctktid $status \n";
print "$command";
system("$command");
print "i am done";
last CASE;
And the client stub should look like this :
use LWP::UserAgent;
use HTTP::Request;
use IO;
#use XML::Writer;
my $ua = LWP::UserAgent->new(env_proxy => 1, keep_alive => 1, timeout => 30, );
open INPUT, "<AcceptIncident.xml";
my @greeting = ; #-- Read file containing XML struct to send
print "Hello World\n";
my $data_to_send; #-- And build a string of it
foreach my $newItem (@greeting) {
$data_to_send = "$data_to_send$newItem";
print "Sending \n";
my $head = HTTP::Headers->new(Content_Type => "text/xml", "ID" => "sample");
my $req = HTTP::Request->new('POST', 'http://matrix/cgi-bin/test1.pl', $head, "$data_to_send");
my $response = $ua->request($req);
print $response->as_string; Also you should make sure you have both HTTP::Request amd XML::Simple installed, orelse this will not work.
Hope this is of some help to you.

• File Adapte picking up XML if XSD valid without verifing the XSD in adapter

hi',
I am facing one issue
I have a sample XML file which I want to read through BPEL process
for this I have configured the file adapter with the schema and reading the file adapter with the receive activity
next I have created one XSD file (which file adapter referes to) and one XML file,
File adapter reads it after the XML file gets validated with the XSD which is kept in a location *'/test/xsd/emp.xsd'*,
now the issue is that the file adapter is picking up and initiating the process without verifying the XSD mentioned in the adapter
it is only checking the XML file with the XSD mentioned in the XML,
for example if I have a xml file which is refering to some other schema it also gets read by file adapter without worring about what schema is mentioned in file adapter
please advice me is this the way File adapter works in Oracle BPEL or I am doing some thing wrong
I am using SOA suite 10.1.3.3.0 which is deployed in UNIX enviornment.
thanks
Yatan

thanks Ketan ,
as you suggested, after adding validateXML to true, the XML is getting validated to the XSD in the adapter,
the process is getting invoked and the receive activity is throwing error of 'Invalid XML', this is perfect as I expected
however now the issue is, the file which is invalid in terms of XSD present in the file adapter is still being archived to 'success dir' i.e. 'LogicalArchiveDirectory', ideally it should have moved to fail directory,
but if the XML file is not complete or having some error in terms of the XSD it is refering to 'target namespace' and 'target location'
then it will move to the fail directory and the receive activity is also showing the error,
see this is how I have configured my bpel.xml file for the file adapter.

<property name="rejectedMessageHandlers">file:///aaa/bb/ccc/wis/tph/bpl_inbound/adjust/fail</property>
