Generic VM error from ORA-29516

OS: SunOS 5.9
Oracle: 9.2.0.7 64bit
ORA-29516 happened when fire the trigger which will call a Java store procedure.
This error happened when a Java application call a PL/SQL store procedure from Weblogic side.
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-29516: Aurora assertion failure: Assertion failure at eoasga.c:1596 EOA runtime assertion failure: eoasga.c:1596
When I trace the event 29516, I found "Generic VM error", "Fatal embedding system error", "Generic Aurora error", "XRoot of all Java exceptions" in the trace file.

Hi, Kuassi
This problem happened when calling a PL/SQL stored procedure from a web page. We use Weblogic as the application server which connects the Oracle DB server by JDBC connection pool. If I execute the same PL/SQL stored procedure manually under SQLPLUS, it was finished successfully. The PL/SQL stored procedure is used to update some tables which is a long transaction. During updating the table, it will fire a trigger which will call a JAVA stored procedure in Oracle JVM to send message to the application server side by socket pool. Finally java application in the application server throws an ORA-29516 exception when the PL/SQL stored procedure is finished. I tried two JDBC driver (920/10g) provided by BEA weblogic. The result is same. The error happened in Oracle JVM.

  • Excluding ORA-00060 errors from Generic Alert Log Error in OEM

    Hi,
    I want to remove the alerts for ORA-00060 errors from OEM Alerts. In "Generic Alert Log Error" the current expression for Warning is ORA-0*(600?|7445|4[0-9][0-9][0-9])[^0-9]. How should I change this expression so that it will not send alerts for ORA-00060. I am not much aware of perl :-). Please help me with the expression.

  • SDO_MVCLIENT throws occasional Aurora assertion failure error ORA-29516

    Hi folks,
    Occasionally I seem to receive the follow error when using the SDO_MVCLIENT package to run Mapviewer. The problem goes away if I just resubmit the job.
    Warning: ociexecute() [function.ociexecute]: ORA-29516: Aurora assertion failure: Assertion failure at joeintp.c:373 Interpreter hit null Java opcode. ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_MVCLIENT", line 393 ORA-06512: at "PDZIEMIELA.TW_PHP", line 553 ORA-06512: at line 1 in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\tw.php on line 294
    Line 393 in the package is
    FUNCTION run RETURN VARCHAR2 AS LANGUAGE JAVA NAME 'oracle.lbs.mapclient.SQLMapClient.run() return java.lang.String';
    So I am thinking this has to do with java. Could I have muff the loadjava somehow? I followed all the steps. Any thoughts? This is on a 64 bit Solaris 10 machine. The system has JDK 1.5 in the path but oracle has JDK 1.4 in its directory tree under jdk.
    Thanks!
    Paul

    Also just a note as you don't specify which database version you are running but in 8.1.7 the return buffer does not seem to be managed correctly by the database as once removing a message from the buffer it still remains on the buffer.
    The only work around I've found, so far, is to manipulate Utl_Tcp.Connection.private_bf using utl_raw.
    Under 9i this is not an option as private_bf is non-existant in Utl_Tcp.Connection

    I am creating workspace for the first time, actually following some tutorial to get some knowledge about OLAP)

    I wonder how I can get this MOS DOC 852794.1 - is it possible to get it without going to Metalink?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Forums seem to indicate it may be related to bug 4358907, Re: Datapump export/import object grants given by another user but not sure it is relevant as I can see a ORA-01031: insufficient privileges in this log.
    Can you please advise?

    Hi all,
    I am getting this erro on a Datapump Schema export on 11.2.0.2:
    ORA-39127: unexpected error from call to export_string := SYS.DBMS_RMGR_GROUP_EXPORT.GRANT_EXP(12425,1,...)

    ORA-06512: at line 1
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_METADATA", line 7049
    I believe it requires some specific privileges on DBMS_RMGR_GROUP_EXPORT.
    I have found this below explanation Kevin's Blog: SYS.DBMS_RMGR_GROUP_EXPORT.GRANT_EXP but I am not a DBA, so I am not sure what grant needs to be modified.
    It also complains of unsufficient privileges on DBMS_SCHED_JOB_EXPORT.GRANT_EXP, but I am not sure who needs what grant.
    Could you please advise on how to resolve the issue?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Can anyone help if possible please?

  • ORA-02068: following severe error from db link

    Hi,
    I have the following piece of code which gives an error.
    FOR items IN (SELECT DISTINCT item FROM ccm_items@caav_link a)
    LOOP
    itemtrans.process_item@manuf_link(items.item);
    END LOOP;
    Procedure process_item may take several hours to complete execution. Hence after processing one or two items, I get an error "ORA-02068: following severe error from caav_link
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel"
    I guess this occurs due to some timeout issue. Can you please give some pointers on why this issue occurs and how to avoid it? Also note that I need to use the same link after the loop. So a timeout could cause a problem there also.
    Thanks,
    Blesson

  • ORA-02068: following severe error from - How to handle the overgiven Except

    Hello again ^^,
    hope its okay to write the follwnig question into a new Thread...
    I sometimes get errors from remote dbs.
    ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK
    ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress - no operations are permitted
    ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channelThese are in one sqlerm. Is it possible to handle the second errors without string operations?
    Thanks and regards
    Edited by: user10283133 on 28.10.2008 08:33
    Try to force the headline

    The remote db is accessible from 6 am to 6 pm. When querring longer than given time span I get the Error ORA-02068. In the sqlerm for this Error is a second Errormessage from an second different Error concatenated.
    Now I will tell what I think is happening:
    I think the remote db say: >>I will go sleep now<< an throws Error A (ORA-01089 (or ORA-03113, or what else)). This Error A goes to the local db. The local db get the Error A and throw a new Error (Error B = ORA-02068). This Error B is independet from Error A. And I see a String which is "Error B + Error A"
    I recieve also three possible Errormessages:
    ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
    ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK_ODS_STBY
    ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress - no operations are permitted
    ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK_ODS_STBY
    ORA-whatelse: what elseI can handle the ORA-02068. But my questions is, can I handle the second Error (thus Error A) without string operations?
    The Relase is 10g2. Please tell me which information you still need ...
    Thank you very much.

  • ORA-02068: following severe error from dblink

    Dear friends,
    My database (oracle 9.2.0.8.0) will call another database's (oracle 9i cluster) view through DB Link to get some data.
    If we are to access the data for the first time in a particular session, it gives the output within a second.
    But if we access the data after 45mins in the same session(already connection is open), the query is running for 9 mins it throws an oracle error.
    There is no network issue also(solaris 5.8 server).
    select * from <synonym> where <column_name>=<Value>;

    NOREDO would be used when you have a Consistent Backup (i.e. backup taken when the database is MOUNTed but not OPEN) and so, no archivelogs need to be applied. (This would also be the case for a NOARCHIVELOG database).
    See the notes on NOREDO in the DUPLICATE command documentation in the Backup and Recovery Reference.
