German T-Mobile device

Hello,
Last week i bought a Blackberry Pearl 8110 for my girlfriend. It came from germany and it was a T-Mobile device. She can call and sms, but when we wanted register on the BIS it wasn't possible. After i called with her provider a several times, called T-Mobile Germany twice i found out that T-Mobile Germany adjusted the hardware so only T-Mobile users can register on a BIS.
Does anyone know if and how i can solve this?
Ivo

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
All BB's originally come locked to a particular carrier. If you can obtain the unlock code, then you can unlock it and register it to other carriers. If the unlock code is entered 10 times incorrectly, the device is permanently locked to the original carrier. If that is what they told you they have done, then you have pretty much no recourse. See this article:
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_unlock_my_BlackBerry%3F
If you should see that this BB is indeed only locked in the first sense (the original factory locking), then you can still unlock it by obtaining the code.
However, since you discussed registering to BIS, this actually sounds like it might possibly be a different issue. Did you obtain the BB second hand? And did the prior owner have it registered to BIS on their carrier? And did they release the PIN with their carrier as part of selling you the BB? If not (the final if), then that is what must happen -- the prior owner must contact their carrier and have them release the PIN...until it is released, the PIN cannot be registered to another carriers BIS.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Can't sync iPhone... Apple Mobile Device support does not install

    Hello @all,
    I've got a big problem.
I've installed the 8.1 Update of Itunes and Apple Mobile Device Service would not be installed. After registering modules the setup reverses all actions.
Now I can start Itunes but my IPhone can't sync. Theres a German Message like: "This IPhone can not be used because it needs software wich is not installed. Please start the ITunes Setup to uninstall Itunes and reinstall the ITunes 64-Bit Version."
I've uninstalled all Apple components on the PC, cleaned up the registry... but it doesn't work. An older version of Itunes doesn't work too. What can I do? Please help me.
My system is Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit

You either are not installing it from an Administrator account or you have Vista configured to prevent installation of privileged services. AppleMobileDeviceService must run in a privileged mode.

    Hello DM06851,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with installing the latest iTunes update.  I recommend following the steps below:
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
I understand that you have already uninstalled iTunes, but when you get to this step, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.
You can find the full article here:

  • HTTP streaming on mobile device

We have an application for live streaming of videos without using adobe AIR. we need to make this live streaming of videos work on all mobile devices(i.e android and ios) using "HTTP streaming". Please let me know ASAP.

    Hi,
have you done this before? How can I emded the file / stream to a webpage? Could you please explain that? And I wonder if the mobile phone's browser will be able to play the stream in its grafics interface at all. Normaly, wenn I enter an URL like rtsp://server:port/file.sdp in the browser it opens automatically the media player of the mobile phone that tries to connect. I arrive establishing the connection to the streaming server but then nothing else happens - the stream isn't played. I know that it depends from the network operator I am using. With the german t-mobile I can watch my streams but with e-plus (KPN-DE) for example it doesn't work. There's a list in this forum that shows rtsp-friendly operators and the non-friendly ones. My questions simply is: IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET MY STREAM STARTED EVEN WHEN I USE A NON RTSP-FRIENDLY MOBILE OPERATOR? I guess that could be done by using the right protocols (like TCP instead of UDP and Port 80 that should always be open instead of 554).
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED! Thanks.

  • Cant install apple mobile device windows7

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem with my itunes. First it started with not recognizing my iphone.
So I looked up how to solve this problem. So I uninstalled everything like it was described on apple support.
    Well, what happened next?
I tunes was installed "succesfully" but then when I put the iphone on usb it said, you installed the wrong version of itunes, install the version for 64 bla bla
kind of confused, I reinstalled it again and tried it again and again...
Then I read somewhere that maybe I should turn off my antivir program, I did. No change.
So I had some problems with my windows 7 while installing some silly updates..
Oh, and the last time I tried to install itunes, it stopped to install and said,
apple mobile device cant be installed bla bla, then itunes stops to install and thats it.
    So,
I hope somebody experienced the same problem and can tell me how to solve it?
Because now I m thinking of getting out of this apple circle, because this costed me hours and hours of my
    precious time. :-)
And please dont tell me to uninstall itunes, because at the moment I just cant install it anymore !
Thank you in advance for your help,
    sincerely,
    desperate
    Diana

okay, I tried it again, and made a screenshot,
so, I would have the option to use the button ignore, but then its not going to recognize my iphone. Its in German, but it says that apple mobile device can t be started. and I should figure out if I have the rights to start the services. Ridicule.

  • I am suddenly getting a message that the 'mobile device services' has stopped working on my computer and windows seems unable to fix.  I have tried finding the file and making sure that it is enabled.  It says 'enabled' but does not work.

I recently downloaded a new update of the operating system on my 3GS  It seems to be a bit slower since and I have no idea if that is part of what is going wrong.  I cannot get itunes to recognise my phone.  Windows pops up a 'window' that says my 'mobile device services' is not working and would I like Windows to look online for the problem - I say yes, windows does it's thing, blanks out and I am back where I was.  I tried updating itunes but no luck.
I found the mobiledeviceservices.exe file and made sure it was all 'on' and 'enabled' still no luck  I did a search and came up with some other people who had the same problem but the answers that they were given didn't help me.

When you erased the disk did you select Mac OS Extended Journaled as the format option?

  • Apple Mobile Device Service installation rolls back

    Hey there,
I've been having problems installing iTunes 9 or even 8 on my computer. While running the iTunes setup, part of the installation rolls back and when I launch iTunes after that, I get the message saying that
"This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again."
However, the installation doesn't work no matter how many times i reinstall it. I've fully uninstalled everything related to apple and used the microsoft's utility to check if they were properly uninstalled before reinstalling itunes, but I still got the same message.
I found out that Apple Mobile Device Service was not installed and that was the problem. When i extracted AppleMobileDeviceService.msi from the iTunes installer and ran it, it rolled back too. So I used the /l*v command to create an installation log and this is the error.

    Cheers

I have recently been fighting my system to get itunes to recognise my iphone and i ran into a similar problem.
I couldnt uninstall the old version of apple mobile device support, and installing the new itunes over the top did not seem to help either.
But i found a work around.
Try opening the itunes.exe install package with winrar. (www.winrar.com, its a free program) and then extracting only the applemobiledevicesupport.exe file.
Reboot your system, run that file and then reboot again.
    It should work.
If it doesnt, then good luck to you :P

now i went to the directory where the driverfiles should be, and paused the installation just before it starts rolling back and made a copy of the whole thing, the driver files are being extracted, and thinking it may have failed to find them, i restarted the installation and paused it after it extracted the files, copied over my backup files to where they should be, and resumed, same thing happened, failure again.
I stopped all the services running, (msconfig / startup and services) and that still did not help, i went through my registry for every "apple" and deleted it, after uninstalling all apple products, that did not help, i ran windows install clean up and made sure that quicktime and itunes and apple updatea re not installed, did the whole thing again, no luck.......
Can someone please tell me what is going on, i can run it just fine on my other machine, which is running windows xp pro as well, the only thing different i did on this one was that i plugged in the Iphone before installing the software, whereas i ran the itunes installer on that one before i plugged in the iphone, and yes, i did get the iphone driver as a camera at first, and i changed it later by pointing the update driver to the same directory where applemobiledevicesupport extracted the 3 driver files :
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    and the files are usbaapl.cat , usbaapl.inf, and usbaapl.sys
please look into this issue, i've done everything i could think of,

now i went to the directory where the driverfiles should be, and paused the installation just before it starts rolling back and made a copy of the whole thing, the driver files are being extracted, and thinking it may have failed to find them, i restarted the installation and paused it after it extracted the files, copied over my backup files to where they should be, and resumed, same thing happened, failure again.
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    and the files are usbaapl.cat , usbaapl.inf, and usbaapl.sys
please look into this issue, i've done everything i could think of,
    Thank you.

I have the exact same problem on my workstation and previously solved it by installing iTunes on a different computer and copying all the files and registry keys to my workstation. However, it didn't solve the problem when i tried to update to itunes 7.6 ...
    Is there any solution yet?

  • IPod is not recognized by iTunes... Driver folder not in Mobile Device Support?

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation. First, my iPod wasn't even recognized in Windows. After following the various Apple articles, I solved this.
But now, my iPod won't be recognized in iTunes. I've been trying to follow this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 which has worked so far. But the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed. I follow along as to what to do to solve this until I reach "
Use this window to navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Note: If using a 64-bit version of Windows, this folder may be stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl.inf" file which is listed in this folder. (This file will be called "usbaapl64.inf" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows)."
My Mobile Device Support does not have a folder called "Drivers" and my computer does not have any file listed as "usbaapl.inf" anywhere. I'm guessing that this could be the source of the problem. But I can't fix it unless I know where to find these drivers, and I don't know they are on my computer or how to get them.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you in advance.

  • I got the MSCVR80.ddl message after I tried to do the latest update on Itunes.  I went in and deleted all the related programs and reinstalled, but I keep getting a message during installation that "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Help!

I was trying to do the latest update on my desktop for my Itunes.  I got MSVCR80.dll is missing.  I saw a post about deleting all the apple itunes programs, restarting and reinstalling.  I tried that.  As it was installing a message came up about "Service'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start systems services.  I did a retry, got the same message, then hit ignore.  It went on.  Then a message popped up saying "Itunes not installed correctly"  Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Now my Itunes program will not open at all.  What gives?  This is very frustrating and I am not very computer literate to begin with.

    Hi Iss9243,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
You've already tried some great troubleshooting steps, but the article below gives you quite a few more for this issue.  Hope it helps ....

  • I tried to update itunes it corrupted the previous version, I'm trying to install new copy get this message "service apple mobile device (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privleges to start system services." Help!

Not sure what to do.  I've tried a system restore on my computer after the update in hopes of undoing the problem, that didn't work.  I've tried to install, the new version of itunes for over two days now and I get to the point where it says "starting services" and it almost get's done and then it gives me that message " Service apple mobile device (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privledges to start system services."  Then it gives me three options to click on "abort", "retry" or "ignore".  I've tried to retry over and over and it does no good, I just get the same message.  I've tried ignore and the one time it did finish installing itunes, it didn't work, I got error messages telling me that it failed to download properly and I needed to delete the program and download it again.  I thought maybe it had something to do with my ipod not being pluged into the computer so I pluged that it and it's still giving me the same message.  I just don't know what to do.  I'm very frustrated and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.  I'm completely out of ideas.

We have BusinessObject products and we know about BOBJ tools to design our solution to mobile devices.

With BOBJ tools can we do a interactive report (to enter product key) ?
    Thanks for your help.
    Osmy

    Hi Osmy,
With the latest BI4.0, you will be able to use BI Reports on Blackberry (and nokia) devices (this was also available in XI3.x releases) . There is no iphone support yet - which maybe coming shortly in later releases.
As for Explorer, i* apps are already available - but not for blackberry as far as i know
You may already be able to run interactive (prompted) reports on blackberry. Below is a link on design best practices for reports on mobile
