I to get all dependencies of a Package in Other Scheme, for exaple Scheme XPTO

How to get the own schema data while calling the other schema's Procedure

Hello Experts,
I'm Sanjit, new to OTN forum.
I'm using Oracle 10g 10.1.0.2.0 database. Another user Sush has created one procedure proc_1 like
create or replace procedure proc_1
as
v_total number;
begin
select sum(amt) into v_total from trans_master where dot
between add_months(sysdate,-3) and sysdate;
dbms_output.put_line('last three months total transactions is: '||v_total);
end proc_1;
He has the Trans_master table and having 280 records and I have the same Trans_master table with 430 records
inserted in last 3 months. He has granted execute privileges on the procedure Proc_1 to me. When I call the procedure
I cannot call it directly like my own schema procedures: Exec Proc1;
I am calling like : Exec Sush.Proc1 to get the result. My issue is: when the procedure is called,
it is accessing the data from the Sush schema Trans_master table with 280 records total, but I want
the procedure to get the total amount of transaction of 430 records from my own Trans_master table.
Please resolve my issue which would be a great help. And is there any way to call the procedure of other schema
by not attaching the owner name of the object with it?

Pleast take a look at "Definer's rights and invoker's rights" in the following article:

I guess you need to define a stored procedure with "invoker's rights".
If this is what you are looking for will have to define it in the stored procedure that you are going to call.
The syntax is as follows:
create or replace procedure <yourprocedure> authid current_user ...
...or (the following is the default, you don't have to use the "authid definer" keywords):
create or replace procedure <yourprocedure> authid definer ...
...hm

"Read Only" open other schema's package body even have write permission

Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 (2.1.0.63)
I can view and modify package under my schema, but when I open other schema's package body, it show "Read Only" in status bar and can't type in code editor.
I'm sure my connected user have write permission and it works fine in old sql developer version.
Is there some toggle for "read only" view or some issue for new release?

Not very helpful for you at the moment, but according to EA 2.1. Can't edit another users store procedures. this has been bugged and will hopefully get fixed soon.

Inconsistent logic for viewing others schemes objects in browser

A while ago when we upgraded our db's to Oracle 10 we also replaced our famous green friend for Sql Developer with our entire development crew.
Among a few other things, people were not all that happy, seeing that they lost the desired "check for access to dba views option". But as long as we could rely on a consistent view in the "other schema" in all possible views (via table, or directly in the navigator) we could defend this way of thinking for not being able to see everything.
But unfortunately, in the latest version "1.5.1 5440", we still see inconsistent things...
for example :
via browser (other users schema)
=> Indexes are not visible in the indexes branch point, but they do show up on the indexes tab for the corresponding table.
=> For the same "other users scheme", Triggers do show up in the triggers branch point, but then when we check the trigger tab for the corresponding table, they are not shown
It looks like waiting for yet another version is no option and we will be forced to retreat to the green commercial swamp on high demand of our developers...

There are still a few glitches in the queries used for certain things - I cannot remember the problem you mention with indexes being posted before (although I get the same problem with indexes visible in all_indexes not appearing on other users index node), but the trigger tab problem has been discussed before (1.5PROD/EA3/EA2/EA1: Only table owners triggers show in Table's trigger tab

Viewing package/proc/funtion source in other schemas

There still seems to be some problems with viewing PL/SQL source in other schemas. In TOAD, I can grant SELECT ANY DICTIONARY to a developer and they can see all source in other schemas. In SQL Developer, they see nothing. If I grant EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE, they can see the package specs, but no body (Note: we do not want developers having this priv).
Again, our developers need to be able to view the PL/SQL source in other schemas, without having execute privs on said objects, which is very easy in TOAD. I see this issue in many threads, but SQL Developer seems to have not progressed in this area (unless I'm doing something wrong).

Granting select on dba_source has no affect. Sure, they can get the code from the table, but it would be nice to browse to it in the GUI. Even with "execute any procedure", the package bodies are not visible.
I've seen similar tools that have this same issue, but somehow the developers of TOAD got it right, a long time ago even. This is the only issue that keeps our development team from jumping on board with this tool.

How does Apex access and manage db objects in other schemas?

I'm looking for a description of how Apex accesses and manages database objects in other schemas.
I'm sure I've seen such a description somewhere earlier but am unable to find it again...

When you are connected to sqlworkshop, it is basically connected to the sceham owner of the workspace. If you execute the query
select sys_context( 'userenv', 'current_schema' ), user, username from user_users;you would see the schema and user(currently connected) and schema owner through which you have logged in. The user will have all the privileges granted to schema owner. So basically you get connected through APEX_PUBLIC_USER and it has all the privileges of the schema owner.
In order to run scripts in another schema you would need grants on other schema same like you are connected to user A through sqlplus and wants to create objects in schema B. For example lets say you want to create a table in schema B and you have create table privileges in scehma B , you can execute command create table B.emp as select * from A.emp;

I have synchonized the defaults.
I click a table to edit it's UI defaults.
When finished, I click the "*Prev*" or "*Next*" button that are at the right of the "Edit Table Defaults"-button and then ... I get in a different schema... When I click the "Edit Table Defaults"-button I get to the page:
Home > SQL Workshop > Utilities > User Interface Defaults > Table Dictionary > Table and Column Properties > Table Defaults
And there I see the table defautls of:
Schema:      DATAMINE
Object Name:      COMPANYCASH

Readonly user can access other schema and change them

Hello everybody,
I created a readonly user like this in oracle 11g r2
SQL> CREATE USER readonly IDENTIFIED BY readonly;
SQL> GRANT CREATE SESSION ,CREATE SYNONYM TO readonly;
SQL> GRANT SELECT ON SA.vCustomerService TO readonly;
But when I connect to the database and do a select like:
SQL> SELECT * FROM ACC;
I get the data from that table, even if I do an update on that table it works.
What am I doing wrong that my readonly user still has full acces on the other schema?

I am updating certain rows (contain coupons information) in the db with a particular condition
Before updaing i need to check whether those are in active status in an other schema which has relevant info related to coupons
do i need nested am's to do this

you can use createStatement() method of AM to get any data from the database (if AM's user has db privileges to read another users tables)

Refering to other scheme in DB

I use this query in order to get data from tables in another scheme:
SELECT *
FROM [another user's scheme].[table]
WHERE .....
but it gives me error: failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
what's wrong with my query?

That's what I thought. Your "Parsing Schema" doesn't see (doesn't have the grants) to this other table in the other schema.
In the [another user's scheme] you have to issue a
GRANT SELECT ON [table] TO [parsing schema];
Then the "Parsing schema" will be able to select from this table.

I create Procedures/Packages/Tables in an Scheme , after I Must to Export to other Scheme.
I have 4 schemes, How can I to create a Script without to need rebuilt all scripts ?

Are you asking to extract the scripts, if so then use
OEM or TOAD.
If you want to import in other schema then use
fromuser - touser

Promotion Management - Failed to get Dependencies of the Job

I'm trying to promote my WebI reports, but when I add my objects, I receive that message:
"Failed to get dependencies of the job".
Someone know something about this error?

In that case login to development server and then promote the objects from PRD to dev (Live to Live scenario). Here Source would be PRD and destination would be Development. This would ensure that the APS used is from Development server.
Additionally create a test server having below services on PRD
Lifecycle Management ClearCase Service
Lifecycle Management Service
Visual Difference Service
TraceLog Service
Disable the original APS temporarily and then try to promote the objects (Live to BAIR). This test is simply to understand whether we have an issue with above services in original APS.
